- dice certs to be added when it gets here -

It was less than a week after Lea and Evan had made their agreement and already trouble seemed to be stirring, of cause at this time Evan was totally unaware of such things. He was laid in the wolf den, staring out into the vast forest which opened up at the exit. His glowing blue eyes staring into space. He was thinking of the task he had ahead of him, wondering if he could meet his end of the bargain. Things were starting to look up, however he was not going to be optimistic, as soon as you let your guard down, is when things seem to fall apart.

Lea was not happy! How had he worked this out? She knew he was smart but to be doing such sly things behind her back? That was her job! She grumbled to herself marching down the terrain and to the den, where her only option lay like nothing was happening. "EVAN!?" Her eyes widened and she looked back over her shoulder, then back to him in surprise, breathing out in big breaths. Ok, cool down. She thought before flicking her tail in rage. "What are you doing!? Nori, is on the move. He captured a mare and you know what that means right?" She asked as she neared him and stared down with a pout. Please oh lord do not let her explain this to him.

After the plains Dice had her head held high and her spirits in the right place. It had done her a whole lot of good meeting such a kind stranger who offered her advice and some well deserved/needed comfort. She was now on the path to her next destination, the forest however when she got there she wasn't expecting to be jumped by a devil wolf. She had a typical girlie smile on her face looking bright and pleasant, trying to carry on with her fresh start when she felt eyes upon her, that creepy weird feeling that makes every bone in your body stiff and your skin as chilled as ice. She had paused in her merry paces and turned to the side. Decked and clawed, her beautiful coat ruined in a flurry of blood and pain. She shrieked, his teeth had been in her and the next thing she was out for the count. Knocked flat out.

Nori held the victim in his jaws, she would do. It didn't matter all he wanted was what she could give him and not what her genetics included. He dragged the light mare into a dark shaded area of the forest, hoping that the others wouldn't find him. He stacked what he could at either of her sides and stood watch, paroling and keeping a watchful gaze upon the sleeping mare. she couldn't escape and neither would he let her until the deed was done and then it was talking time. He just hoped his mother hadn't caught wind of his method and approached it with the other minions.

Evan's eyes went on to his alpha. She was stressed, it did not suprise him that much. His eyes narrowed as he stood up wondering over towards her, not too close though, he knew she could turn and pounce on, she seemed to be that ticked off. He listened to her words. So, Nori was a little ahead. He nodded and looked at her. "Where?" he asked, hoping that one word was not enough to make her flip a casket. He knew, if Nori had children, his deal would be out the window as fast as it came. He was not going to let him win, not that easily.

Shadow glared a little towards him. "I thought you was just as good as a wolf than he was? You know him, you spent every waking minute of your childhood with him. I lost his scent a while back. Damn AWOL child." She sighed, closing her eyes a migraine coming on. "Check his well known lurking areas and wherever he likes to be when he is alone. If he wins, you don't want to know what will happen to you next." She threatened, feeling the anticipation herself. This wasn't just him who was on the line but the whole pack and it's future. She was running in circles, her min against itself right now.

Evan looked at her, he knew he was wasting time, he was not going to get anything useful out of her when she was in a mood like this. He bowed his head at her, as a sign of respect, before he wondered out the cave, blue eyes set on the foggy forest which surrounded. Well known hide outs? he could only think of one. The opening they found one day when they were children, its where they played away from the others. Evan guessed he would go there, after all he would never expect him of all people to come looking for him.

Dice opened her eyes after what felt like the worst sleep she had ever had, that time there was no fluffy pink boa as a pillow, no warmth or black wispy hair in her face or any of the caring aspects she was used to, just weakness engulfing all of her drained limbs and she was still losing bits of blood. Her vision strained to see the one who had captured her, the evil one. She gasped when it became much more clearer to her, that he was dangerous. Her vision searching an escape not like she could go anywhere in the state he had put her in but it was no use. She was blocked in and he stood at the entrance, looking like he was ready for his next meal. She gulped, ears falling back and her heart racing. Now, she didn't feel so good... She was starting to regret, thinking that it was about her time. Karma back to bite her in the rear.

Nori heard the shuffled and the gasp gave it away, that was when he turned and eyes her with his cunning yellow slits, offering a grumble. She wasn't moving much which meant a quicker done job for him and less hassle. With a smirk, he looked down at her, laughing inwardly and mocking the weak. The ones that were beyond his pack were fools. If this is what he would be up against, they would be all doomed. He crept closer, sniffing at her and watching as she pulled her head back in fear. It fed him more energy and more determination. Growling lowly he licked her wounds as she struggled. He couldn't have the bearer of his children dying now, could he?

Evan was on the prowl, galloping one foot after the other. Many would get lost in this maze like forest, however Evan knew it better than he knew the back of his hand, he lent down every so often, to take a smell of the ground, he was on the right path, he knew it. One foot after another he ran, soon tracks came obvious, where Nori had stood, where his victim was getting dragged. He lowered himself to the ground, prowling, silently and more cautiously. He hid in the bushes, in the trees. Soon something came into sight, he had found a girl. He laid still. Very still using all the stalking skills he had learned in the years in the pack. He would wait, until the wolf was least expecting it. When he thought he had done, then he would make his move.

She didn't know what to do, first he had attacked her and knocked her down for the count, now he was licking her wounds clean? Was that a meal preparation or was it just his sick twisted little mind? Some males, she had had enough. She didn't get them, were they all so sadistic and violence orientated? She wanted to shout out a cry for help, one of her hero's to bound through and knock the living daylights out of the strange mutant, not like she had any idea what he was or how the minds in the kawani worked yet. She knew they wouldn't come though and her eyes fell disregarding the male a moment, not even in reality whilst her thoughts took over again. She had to get over them. It was the only way.

Nori finished cleaning her up, his tongue providing what was needed to stop the bleeding from his wolf mutated genetics and now he was ready to what he needed to. He pushed her with his muzzle, nudging her impatiently to get up. When she had winced from pain, he just bared his pearly fangs and she had forced herself up on to her feet, backing away with her eyes closed and limps in two of her legs. He stayed silent and approached her, a malicious grin spreading smugly at his intended.

Evan wondered closer, whilst he was busy playing with his new toy. Soon enough, his motion became faster and faster. Until he pounded out of the bush and pounced at his child hood friend letting out a loud growl. "Nori!" he sneered. The long ghost like features he possessed reaching out for his friend, they did nothing. However they reached none the less. His glowing eyes piercing the shadowy blackness which surrounded them. He ignored the female completely. His focus was Nori. Not her.

Nori's ears flickered before Evan had reached his path however he was caught off guard, he wasn't expecting company or an interruption especially not by Evan. He thought he would understand. What was the meaning of this? As he was pounced at he stood his ground, only to be forced into a roll a long the ground, his childhood pack mate following in a heap of hooves and fog. He glared at him, irritated at such disrespect. This was no time to play and his growls initiated he wasn't here for that, so what was he there for, the girl? Had he found an interest in this little intruder? He growled back snapping his fangs and letting the harsh warning sounds hum through his throat. Unless... He was in it with his mother. "What are you doing!?" He demanded. "I have no time for this. So get off me."

Dice opened her eyes at a thud, slowly focusing on a new figure, an owner to a bright coat and various odd tribal patterns that she had never come across before. Hope appeared in her eyes, a desperate cry and struggle for him, pleading that was the case and that he would win, taking her to safety.

Evan looked down at Nori, his back arched and his hooces strong and steady in the floor. "Nori, you are going to do something really stupid. I know you want to try and claim your leadership however doing this with a outsider could have the potential to destroy the pack. You can not risk everything in the hope, the small hope, that this will go your way." he stated, with another small growl coming out of his lips. She could not be trusted with such a task, Nori would have to wait, for more female members to join the pack. It was the right thing to do and it did happen, he was the living proof thata outsider could join, under the right circumstances.

"You know I am your competition Nori, however I am also your friend, and rival or not I would still stop this. Its not right." He added, his ghostly tail flicking side to side. His luminous eyes glared over to the female, why did she not run? silly girl.

Nori glared at him, was he stupid enough to think that he would listen to reason? Nori did things his own way even if they did not make sense to anyone else, there was always a bigger picture to him forming together like a spider diagram. He threw his two front hooves up sending them into Evan's chest and then bucked him backwards when his back legs could get a grip. He twisted and got to his feet, curling around to eye him, teeth showing and fangs hanging low over his lip in snarls.

She wasn't saved just yet. She sighed and backed up to the wall as much as she could. She might be able to just slip right past and they wouldn't even notice through their full blown out domestic. How did she get herself into these situations ALL THE TIME? She tried to quietly limp to the entrance whilst the wolf was distracted only to be whacked against the wall with his powerful tail. His eyes staring straight through her. She froze and shrieked at the pain. Why her? She wasn't losing her innocence to some smelly wolf that was a fact!

What a idiot. Trust Nori to not let reason get through that thick skull of his. His eyes narrowed slightly. He was put back a bit by the kick in the chest that he had received from the wolf. He gritted his teeth some. Staring at Nori he wondered forth once more. "Staying silent? is anything of this getting through or are you scared you will choke when your pride is shoved down your throat? lets just go back to the camp Nori, ignore all this. You know if this works, Lea will kill the mare at the first sign of children anyways. You can not win my friend." He stated, his eyebrow arching slowly. His piercing blue eye scanning the wolves every motion. He was not going to be off guard when he attacked him. Deep down he knew tonight was going to end with one of the brothers blood split. However he was determined it was not going to be his. He would not have wished this for the world. Nori, despite their rivalry, was still his closest friend.

Nori smirked at his words and snickered, shaking his head. "I thought you were better than that. An adult but I must of been wrong. I'm afraid you're still a child. I would never choke on my pride. You should know that by now." He growled a little also stepping forwards, lowering into a creeping position and circling to the side. "I wouldn't allow that to happen. I already have it all figured out." He was like his mother, they clashed in aspects of being just as cunning as each other and with every plan she thought of, he was always fighting to be that one step a head. He wasn't going to allow them to push past him and his efforts. He deserved this pack, without him there would be none and Evan wouldn't be here right now.

Dice still felt the rapid stings, it ached all throughout her body and fur from his tail had clung in groups to her wounds. Even if she wanted to she felt as if there was no way of escaping. She looked over at Evan and his glowing ghostly blue eyes, now leaned against the wall. That was his name? It suited him she thought and the other Nori; She wouldn't forget that one. She was glad he had other problems now those piercings eyes weren't upon her, she tried to move but winced at the worrying shocks, throbbing in every part of her. This was no use. She was starting to wish she hadn't left now... She wouldn't be like this there. He would of made sure of that.

Evan's eyes narrowed some more watching his friend move around. "I am the child? I am not the one going back on everything the pack has ever taught me for some ambition. Whats wrong Nori? can not do things the right way? you have to snoop to this to gain leadership? Why not do the proper thing? take me down and then wait for the right mate to come in the pack, if you are strong enough. After all I would rather be dead that have some outsider control my life. If you can not do that, then you are not worthy to be a leader." he growled. Lowering his head to the floor. He was trying to talk reason into his friend, harsh words were just how he handled things. After all, kindness did not seep through to Nori. He had to see how blind he was being, if he did this he would be no better than his sister, and that mangy mutt she chose over her family.

Nori snorted and stopped creeping. He had been provoked and it was only a matter of time before he didn't see a close friend or a little brother. Just a pest that needed to be delt with the right way. "I suppose forbidden fruit with the highest ranking member doesn't put you to that place either, does it?" He glared, his eyes narrowed to slits and his ears up-right and forward, tail flicking irritably behind him. "I do what has to be done in a way where no options are opened up. Unlike for you, I have to improvise and take the next step rather than play a foolish underling and have everything handed to me on a plate." With a lunge at his friend, he snapped his jaws towards his neck, fangs revealed to the fullest and all hopes of Nori coming back from his rage, gone.

Dice widened her eyes as he threw himself at the other male, forcing herself towards the entrance as quick as she could, gritting her teeth at the pain she was in but she knew one thing she didn't want to be at the other end of that! Her limps were restraining her ability and she wasn't getting any where fast any time soon, the forest a maze to her panic. She stopped by a rock only a short distance away from the cave and looked back with her tortured crystals. Blood leaking down her. She felt bad for leaving the other male in that position but she would do no good and they knew each other. She had no right to interfere.

"I am loyal to the alpha, its a sad thing when her own blood is a disloyal scheming child. I have never had anything given to me, you started off in a position much higher than me and I have worked my way in up ranks for years to get on your level. You had your chance Nori, you had chance to claim leadership for a long time, to do things right and I would have followed you to the end of days, however now I know, you are not right for this pack, the pack I love and god help me I will do everything in my power to stop you. Now its time to come back home with that bushy tail of yours between your legs."

Evan moved his head to the side as Nori's fangs came towards him. Evan did not have the blessing of strong sharp teeth, like many members of his blood family, he was not built for battle. Even the blessing of his grandfathers long horn has escaped him, all he had was a mist ghost like features which could not even touch objects. He winced as his friend fang sunk into his shoulder. One thing he did have was the height and bulk build of his uncle Alexander. he growled. Pushing towards Nori with all his body weight behind it. Pushing the wolf hard into one of the cave walls. Blood trickling down his shoulder. Nori had always had a tight grip.

Nori pulled up his head, ripping the ivory shoulder to a concert of blood sealing the wall behind them and his muzzle. He glared to the side to Evans face and tried to push forward with his front legs. He was far gone from words, all he saw was red and his target. Prey and no pack member. When they were younger this would have never been the case, they would play all day long, like this pack had some peace and much more meaning to it. Lea had succeeded. She had torn her pack a part and set them against each other. Making rules to bend to her liking. She had brainwashed the only one who meant anything to him into her own little toy.

Evan looked at his friend, pushing him against the wall and again and again in a attempt to make him let go of his shoulder. He did not come here with the intent of attacking Nori. He knew that he was far from ready from taking on such a challenge, this was not for leadership and he saw no reason why they had to fight, however a reason was given in the sense that if he did not he was sure Nori would kill him. Evans ghost like trails wrapped around them both, Nori's yellow eyes could be seen every so often in the trail of black smoke. Evan did not see by any means that Lea had tricked him. She spoke a lot of sense and he had only ever followed the rules that were set to him in the first place. He had to find out about Nori's plan via Lea. If he would have only trusted him, he would have helped his friend, however he was going about this like a dog not like a wolf and the thought of his friend doing such a thing sickened Evan slightly. It only confirmed in his mind, he deserved to run this pack.

Why was he not doing anything back? Not fighting him? He growled liking a challenge more. With a huff he settled down and just kept his eyes focused. He didn't move or try to resist he just simply let him do what he was trying to do. He didn't see why Evan wasn't taking his side, over his mothers. Of all people. He shouldn't have ditched his own to meddle in their affairs if this was what it had resulted to.

"Let go of me Nori!" He napped, the pain in his shoulder growling as he twisted his body to try and throw the over grown fur ball off of him. Evan did not want the battle between him and his friend to be this dishonorable and unmeaning, when him and Nori did come to conflict over leaders hood of this herd he wanted it to be something that both of them could take pride over. Something that the rest of the pack could accept and rejoice over. It became clear what he had to do. He had to leave, to come back stronger and grow mentally and physically to be the best leader he could be. "Let us not kill each other over a meaningless feud my friend. A year from now, I shall return and battle you for leadership the honorable way. If you can swear me the same, I will spend this year becoming the best I can be, then we shall fight to settle this, if you win, I will give you a mare from my herd, one who is worthy of your genes. Can we not show each other at least that respect? until then concentrate on bettering yourself, not sneaky loopholes to claim your place."

Nori's ears twitched and he let go, barging him off of him with his shoulder and walking past, turning his head back at him with betrayal in his eyes. "Do what you want Evan. If you hold your side of the bargain, then it could be interesting." He shook himself, his fur poofing out to the sides slightly before wandering out into the forest. He was baffled but a mare from Evan's herd would be worth the wait. Just to get back at him for this. Someone close that he requested. He had an idea... With a taunting smirk, the tree's became his blanket to hide within and stalk.

Dice was laid against the rock by this point and fear ran through her when she saw the wolf emerge from the cave and head back to it's sacred forest, blood dripping from him in his path. At least his phase had passed... Her gaze darted back to the cave where the other male remained curious to know what became of it. Was he alright? She pushed herself off the ground with much struggling involved and then checked to see if Nori was still around before deciding to take a limp back towards the cave. She owed him this, at the very least for saving her even if that wasn't his reason.

Evan looked at Nori as he left. Even though he did not say much, he knew he would trust him with this deal. He was sure if he tried hard enough, he could win this, he now had a deal with two of the wolf pack, as long as they stayed true to their word he saw a clear path forming. Now he needed to find Joseph and Alexander, the two strongest stallions he had ever met even to this day. It was beyond him how such a care free herd to pump out such powerful creatures however he was not going to question advantages.

He turned, his shoulder hurt but not anything to drastic. A few days rest would help it recover. He was going to leave, there was a long journey ahead of him and he had to see Lea to update her on his plan. However a mare was stood in the way. He huffed slightly, thinking she would have been long gone by now. He had no time to drag a weak mare along with him. "You are safe for now, rest and leave and never come near this forest again."

Dice looked at him naturally studying for any damage the wolf had done which landed on his shoulder and where his ivory coat had been stained a dainty crimson colour. She shook her head gently turning her eyes up to his with a small smile on her face in return. "I just wanted to see if you were ok. To thank you." She paused as her bangs fell into her face again. "Even if it wasn't the purpose to save me."

It was more like an order to never come near it again which she thought would be the right idea she definitely did not want to experience anything like it again but she was so clueless to this land, she wanted to know about it and he obviously had a lot of knowldge that she didn't. Strange appearances had become 'normal' to her so their features just seemed the same. She needed some help. "What was he?" She asked as she stood aside so he could exit.

"He is a wolf, and these are dangerous times, a power shift is moving on in our herd and to put it bluntly, he needs to bare children to be leader. He wont bother you anymore, however if they are on a hunt and they find you, they will kill you for food." He stated, never the one to hold back punches. He approached the mare. Bowing his head, it was not his intention at all however he was glad she would be so polite as to think him, one of his ghost like arms pointed in a direction. "If you travel half a day in that direction, you will come out of the forest. It is much safer in the valleys and by the lake, less violent soquili breeds hang around there." He added, with a small yet stern nod.

"Breeds?" They had different breeds now? Ugh, how was she going to know who were dangerous and who wasn't? She could end up in the same predicament all over again but at least he was helping her get away and he had been polite which wouldn't be expected of his dark aura. She was glad she could trust him; Feeling sorry for the situation of his herd she nodded back. "Oh... I guess even others herds have their issues too." There were more territorial herds other than in Heartland with a lot more violence. Maybe it wasn't so different here afterall.

She looked to where his dark ghostly hands pointed towards and again flashed him a smile. "okay, well thank you again for the help. I hope your wound heals up easy enough, it looks sore." Not like she could talk with numerous gashes over her. She turned away from him reluctantly, his company felt comforting to her but she knew she would probably irritate him, he had other things to do and so she quietly moved on in the suggested direction.

Evan watched on as the mare moved along, what happened to her had nothing at all to do with him. However he would help her a little. He nodded and stood silently as she wondered off. Wishing her the best of luck but nothing more. He had enough to deal with and he was sure she would be able to cope without him. He looked in the direction where their herd had made camp. Now there was one last thing to do. Confront Lea about his plan. He walked, his head held high, his passe fastening as he ran back towards the den where he had left her earlier. Coming through the den door. To see the alpha wolf.

Lea raised her head to Evan as he came back through the den. "What's to report?" She asked him, hoping news for the better. She raised a brow at the large stallion, the blood covering only his shoulder. If they had scrapped full on she knew there would be more blood than that however for Nori to attack him, he must of pissed him off severely.

Evan looked at her. She seemed to be eager to know what went on and to be honest he did not blame her. "Well." He began. "I have his word your throne is safe for another year Lea. He will not attempt anything more till them. I am however leaving to train. To get stronger so in a year I can come and claim victory. We have our deal, as do me and you. So keep to your end and I will assure this will go well." he stated, bowing his head to her, this would probably be the last time he saw her in a while.

A year was a long time away but as long as it was secure, with watchful eyes on her scheming son, then she could live with it. That would give her and Zoomba and advantage in the long run. With a mere smirk she looked at him deviously. "Farewell then Evan. Better get started." She chuckled. This would be too amusing when the day came and she was looking forward to witnessing it. Nothing could have gone better.
