It was a moonlit night and an empty parking lot. An ideal place for one to make as much noise as they could with no one to complain. This was an especially important detail of Luke's life-- if you considered the fact that everyone complained. Luke was sitting straight up on his motorcycle, the moonlight glowed against the white jacket that Luke sloppily wore. His black violin case hung off his shoulder, the sleek black motorcycle shined in the lamp lit lot.

The violin case dropped lightly to the ground, empty of the instrument as Luke polished the bow lightly.

"Screeeeech. SCREEEECH." The violin was horrible-- the sounds at first. Horrid enough for someone to want to close their ears at the very least, the dissonant notes and nails-against-the-chalkboard feeling erupting through the lot. Luke had been for a half-hour perhaps, chin resting on the pad of the violin. But by now, the dissonant melody was transforming to something coherent. A.. tune perhaps? His eyes were closed, fingers pulling the bow smoothly over the violin strings, his low voice hummed softly.

Even with all the chaotic notes, one might vaguely and suspiciously remark that the tune sounded remarkably like "I just can't wait to be a king" from Lion King.

Just maybe.

It was night time, and just as any responsible (and bored) senshi would do, Flora was on patrol once again. There was a recent rash of monsters, or more appropriately, youma, as the powered community called them, and it was troubling to know that the Negaverse was taking the opportunity of the sleeping disease to cause havoc. This was disturbing even more so when it was said that the Negaverse too had lost some of its numbers to Tartaros.

The girl pursed her lips as she walked the empty streets, careful to keep an eye and a ear out...w-what was that?

The screeches caught her attention, and Flora clapped her hands over her ears, wincing as she tried to find the source of the noise. It could very well be a youma, she thought, biting her lip as she moved closer, although the screeches were becoming more tolerant.

She reached the parking lot and was baffled to see the boy there playing his violin, but also relieved. At least it wasn't a youma. She paused her steps and continued listening, back against a nearby tree. The tune sounded familiar, although she couldn't put her finger on it...

Apparently, the lone senshi wasn't the only one that was drawn in by the noise. An impatient whinny blended in with the screeching music, almost unheard of at first. But between pauses of the violin notes, one could almost make out.. a heavy breathing?

It wasn't Luke's.

He looked around at the empty lot in confusion, laughing it off at first. "Heh. A mysterious audience-- how tragically touching. Have no fear, I welcome all and any! Shyness is an unnecessarily, my odoriferous friend!" Luke had dubbed the unpolite nickname when the stench flew in on the breeze, making a flourishing gesture in the opposite direction of Flora, a grin on his face and a dramatic tone ending the sentence. He really had thought it had been a someone versus a something.

"Neeeiiiiigh!"

Neigh..?

Somehow, in the next sentence, he hadn't expected to see the gleam of a white horse's hooves about to unleash on him, the dark silhouette transforming into a rainbow colored.. unicorn?!

Violins did not whinny.

Unless it was the boy playing it trying to imitate that, but Flora thought that it was stupid to even consider that happening. Why would he want to interrupt his practice? Musicians seemed to take their practice very seriously, well, at least the only other musician she knew, Serenade did. A confused look spread over her face as she held her nose with a grimace, body tensing. Did some animal break out on the zoo--oh s**t.

At the moment which the youma appeared, Flora had stared at it and wondered if her grouse that all youma seemed to be quite disgusting had been heard by the Negaversers. They had probably thought that 'answering her prayer' would be quite hilarious.

"Oh come on, his playing wasn't that bad." She teased, stepping out from behind the tree to face the youma. Hopefully, like all (dumb) youma she had encountered before, it would turn its attentions to her instead.

When the female voice came out from the opposite direction, Luke was grateful for the brief interruption that allowed him to place his violin to the other side. It also allowed him to rummage for the white henshin pet adorned with a blue music note on top. (Feminine yet manly. The stylish and sleek design would have been too thin, too plain and too white but the combination of colors and it's single music note made it just right.)

He tucked the newly acquired mysterious pen in his pocket, assuming about ninety percent that the girl was an ally but ten percent that she may not be one. (His actions would determine that last ten percent, okay.) Nevermind the secrecy-- Shouting out some silly phrase to transform required timing. Dramatic ones.

"Uh-- Would I be considered the prince in distress? My princess coming to save me? What a unique twist in the plot-- although it's certainly a nice twist, secret audience member #1.5!" Luke clapped, seeming unfazed by the senshi's appearance.

The unicorn youma wasn't finding this situation amusing however, aiming a horn towards Flora, charging forward with it's rainbow tinted mane and hooves as Luke clapped, neighing angrily.

"Oh, you wish I was a Princess." Flora joked back, fists clenching as the youma, as expected, starting to approach her. For some strange reason, the civilian wasn't running away and for a moment, a bit of panic made her wonder if he was bait and really a Negaverse agent instead. Still, she had more to worry about when the rainbow unicorn's horn was heading in her direction, and leaped aside, only to hear a ripping sound as the horn went through her butt bow.

"Oh, for Serenity's sake." She said, turning to eye the damage the youma had done to her outfit. At least it wasn't any part of her! "Don't you think you should run?" She called back to the boy, glaring at the youma out of the corner of her eye.

The horse stamped it's hooves impatiently, shaking it's head side to side, trying to free it's eyes from the little cloth from Flora's buttbow.

Meanwhile, Luke waved his hand side-to-side, shaking his head with a wide grin. "It's like some cliche manga where you discover that the distressed person you're trying to save isn't really in so much distress. He's actually an ally!" Luke gave Flora a thumbs up, giving an initial impression of a civilian trying to pose as a hero. But there was more to that, the seconds following would soon reveal. Luke struck a pose, soon shouting out a familiar call that all senshi had said or heard at some point.

"Euterpe Power, Make up!"

Luke wasn't sure of the whole name shout out thing. He wasn't sure whether to love it or act like he never heard it (although he did prefer a manlier name call) -- but one thing was for sure. Sailor Euterpe had entered the scene.

He was here to rock that unicorn's world.

Flora didn't really read manga these days though. Sure, she had perhaps looked through some on the internet, then promptly got bored again. She preferred to watch stuff than to have to read it; Eve was more of a movies girl than a books girl. Besides, you could always watch movies with friends, and that was always fun.

What was not fun, however, was facing off a youma that looked like a rainbow unicorn. Flora considered that it was actually better to face an ugly stinky youma than a pretty one. It made the job seem easier.

When a voice behind her announced his henshin phrase, Flora was surprised, staring momentarily at the civilian turned senshi before remembering the youma, and focusing her gaze back on it. "Well, it is nice to have an ally!" She called back, grimacing as she watched the youma try to shake the pink cloth off. She didn't think that would hold it for long, what with another senshi distraction on the scene.

"Flora Pollen Storm!" She shouted, as her brooch glowed, and the cloud of pollen flew towards the youma, her palms up and controlling its direction, ready to move the cloud around as the youma did.

"Think of me as the blue power ranger!" Euterpe made a small salute towards Flora, whom he considered as the yellow ranger. Senshi were rangers of justice, right? So were power rangers. Obviously, one could reach the conclusion that senshi were power rangers.

The unicorn appeared to be frustrated by the pollen storm, shaking it's head and the neighs became louder than before. Almost deafeningly loud. It seemed that the youma was smarter than your average youma as it lifted it's head, rearing in the direction of the pollen storm. Go for the source.

It's mouth shot open, a rainbow beam shooting out of it's mouth towards Flora. It wasn't all water and light though-- far from it, the acidity within the mouth melting the grass behind Flora. "Whoa-- Holy crap!" One could hear Euterpe say loudly from back as he watched the effects of what was supposed to be a beam of happy rainbows. (Not so happy, apparently.)

Flora had never thought of making the connection between power rangers and senshi before. Sure, they were both heroes trying to protect the world from monsters... well, alright, they seemed pretty alike. At least they didn't have to wear those helmets to disguise their identity!

It took quite a bit of willpower for Flora to hold her hands up instead of clapping them over her ears to drown out the noise the youma was making. What wasn't expected next though, was the rainbow coming towards her and she screamed, darting away, and focusing more on running away from the deadly rainbow, and the pollen cloud around the youma slowly thinned.

"Okay, Negaverse, you made your point! Now go back to ugly garbage youma!" The girl skidded to a halt besides Euterpe, panting as she stared at the amount of destruction a unicorn and a rainbow could make. Not. Cool.

"So," She gasped between breaths. "What can you do?"

"I can run. Although that's not really an option here." Sailor Euterpe said sheepishly, indicating that he was the man who probably chose running as his first choice. But power rangers dont run. (Unfortunately.) He sidestepped towards a more open space, away from the melting grass as the female senshi stood next to him.

And why run when you had the coolest attack ever? (Cool didn't necessarily mean effective in this case. But he assumed it to be so since power ranger moves always had some sort of effect.)

"Cover your ears!" He shouted towards Flora over the neighing of the youma, gesturing to his own ears to try get the message across if it wasn't heard.

"Dissonant Resonance!" He shouted, hands spreading apart to reveal a transparent piano. Instantaneously, his fingers started to run over the keyboard, revealing a magical staff of music notes aimed at the rainbow unicorn. Although lacking in the violin department, it seemed he definitely wasn't lacking in the
"magical piano of crack" area. One had to debate why he seemed to excel in one and absolutely fail at another. A topic left for later debate.

Moments later, deafeningly loud noices could be heard as the music notes flew and hit the youma, Euterpe's own headphones granting him immunity to the effects of his own attack.

"Running is only when you're overpowered." Sailor Flora said, not admonishing the other senshi for his words. As serious as she looked upon this duty as a senshi, she too knew that it was either be obstinate and fight or die. Especially when you were outnumbered. Especially since she had ran into a situation like that once. If I die while fighting, she thought to herself, it will to be to protect the Princess to the very end. It sounded morbid, but she had no intention of dying anytime soon. The very end, to her meant the last big battle, the clash of the titans.

But this was just a youma and it was outnumbered. When Euterpe warned her, she did as she was told and clapped her palms over her ears. Always listen to what a senshi warned you to do. She remembered when she had told a civilian once to hold his breath and he didn't, but it was just as well that something terrible hadn't happened to him.

She watched as he summoned his power and played the magical piano, sending physical music notes crashing into the unicorn, pushing it back as it whinnied in vain, shaking its head frantically. Serenade would appreciate that, she mused. Or would she? The Princess preferred serene songs, but well, Flora could only focus on clasping her palms tighter upon her ears and watching the youma take blow after blow.

Well, if you couldn't affect it by its sense of smell, hit it with its sense of hearing! Eos would like that.

The unicorn was frantically shaking his head, Euterpe noted that this was the time to attack. Sneak attacks wasn't his style-- fighting overall wasn't really. But this wasn't the time to be picky and choosy, especially with a unicorn who shot rainbow barf from the acidic depths of hell.

The amount of noise and commotion in the parking lot was more than enough to attract attention-- luckily, their only advantage was that it was spacious and abandoned.

"Have a --" He reared up a fist in the midst of the attack, having ran past the female sailor scout in a show of practiced agility, "--knuckle sandwich!" His black gloved fist landed perfectly between the unicorn's eyes, the overwhelming noise and the pressure knocked the unicorn out cold. He stood there, shaking his wrist back and forth, red knuckles throbbing from the unicorn's hard skin. It was more than likely that his hand was swollen but that was the consequences of this fight.

"That isn't going to end up pretty for my fist tomorrow." Euterpe commented on the situation, sighing softly. "How are you, missy? Your ears bothering you?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:00 pm

Flora still had her hands firmly clasped over her ears as she watched Euterpe warily. Sometimes attacks took a while to die down, and she knew this from experience. Still, she was ready to help if she could, eyes widening as he ran past her to hit the unicorn, wincing at the loud thud of the impact. Now, she slowly lowered her gloved palms to her side as she walked towards him, keeping an eye on the youma in case it was faking.

"You need to put some ointment on that." She said with a sigh. "I'm alright." I think your hand has it much worse. Unspoken worry for a fellow ally. "You get a lot of injuries when you do all this fighting, you know? But you heal a lot faster..." She stopped talking, trailing off as she remembered her numerous scrapes. "Still hurts a lot though." Sometimes she wished they had the power of invulnerability, but they weren't that powerful. They were still human. Human teenagers.

Euterpe looked at his fist with a helpless sigh, knowing that he wouldn't be able to practice the violin for awhile. (It was probably safer that way for all involved. For their ears.) "I'm pretty used to pain already. Although I wont mind playing it up for you, Miss." Luke sent an amiable grin her way as she walked towards him, his injured hand ducked behind his back. "If it gains me any sympathy from a pretty stranger, I'd have to sya, it's useful." He said in jest, his hand reaching out to re-arrange a flower into it's proper position.

"I'm the blue power ranger, Sailor Euterpe. You?" Euterpe held his hand up in a high-five-- one could assume it was a congratulatory high five for defeating the youma.
