It means dressing up formally, or semi-formally, because I don't think the camera will see anything below the waist.
I don't want to go, it's so boring, and I don't like it when people take pictures of me. It doesn't do the shot justice.

Ugh... I don't like taking portraits....
My father always takes our pictures at home, and we get so hot wearing our nice clothes....And after awhile, he keeps saying "Last one, last one." gonk

You live in Hawaii, right? Can't you just, like, go to the beach and take a good picture with some islands and whales in the background or something?

Oh, no, it doesn't work like that.
It's really hard to find beaches that aren't really crowded....and the beaches that are really beautiful are privately owned.
We actually have to go to a portrait studio and put in the beach and whales digitally if we want that look.
