VS.

Description: To debut the opening of the new Beach Selena, which sits on the western coast of the GTB plot of land, Midus has decided to host the second round of the tournament in this lovely place. The sun is shining brightly as the warm breeze blows gentle waves along the clear crystal waters. Boats, surfers, and ski boats trail the waters as a large crowd of spectators gather around a single large wooden platform situated out in the middle of the water. This platform will serve as the fighting ground for both fighters as they are transported out here, either via boat or by their own creative method. The platform itself is made of wood, but contains a solid slab of stone underneath it that is four feet tall meant to keep the platform from being destroyed. Though you may think you can destroy rock with your attacks, this stone is extra tough, meaning knocking chunks out of it will be your only capability, so don't expect to punch any holes through it. Field Measurements: The platform is a square shape, with the distance measured from one side to the other merely 15 yards, which equates to 45 feet. You won't be able to run around this thing as freely as the last arena. The platform is raised a foot above water, so if you fall off, you can still simply climb back on. The platform is rooted underneath with a four pillars of the same stone at each corner, so it will always remain stationary. The pillars are ten feet long each (and quite wide), touching the sandy floor underneath. Ten Count Boundary: Falling into the water begins the ten count. If the other fighter goes into the water, too, or makes contact with the fighter in count-out in any way, the count resets. This does not apply if both fighters are in the water. Only when a fighter has both feet on the platform does the count stop for them. The flying rule remains in effect. Other Penalties: Do not attack spectators or attempt to destroy the platform's rooting underwater. Doing so will result in a DQ. Fight Ends: On July 9th, at 9 PM Central.

Robyn yawned wide, showing her fangs as the skiff glided over the crystal waters. The ocean always made her sleepy, for some reason. Mouth snapping shut with a click, she eyed the water warily as they headed for the platform. The fox girl might like her baths, but this was a whole different matter. She really hoped she didn’t fall or get pushed into the water at some point. Granted, she just likely get pissed and climb back out, but hey, it was the principle of the thing.
To take her mind off the glittering water, she looked at her arm, twisting it this way and that, testing the muscles. Amazing…weird, but amazing. For some reason, having screws and pins in her arm weirded her out more than mages regenerating the flesh did. Wacky world they lived in, for sure. She tested it out again, punching her right fist hard into her cupped palm, grinning when there was no pain. If she’d tried that on someone else, they likely would have gone flying.
Damn, this boat ride was taking forever. Oh well, left plenty of time for internal monologuing. Robyn still wasn’t sure how she had won her fight. Omi had gotten her twice with his woo-woo snakes, although, she had managed to break his leg. She guessed it had something to do with the fact she could actually walk away from the fight.
And finally they were there, the little boat pulling up beside the platform. Robyn stood up, causing the boat to wobble from side to side. She held her balance easily, throwing a casual salute to the “captain” before jumping into a backflip, landing on the platform easily. Not such a huge trick this time, but it seemed to please the spread-out spectators, whooping and cheering her name. She imagined that everyone was surprised about the outcome of her match. Sure as heck no one had expected an unknown to overthrow Omi Barsait, a… “favored” combatant wasn’t the right word, but it would do. Yet they didn’t seem to hold it against her, instead cheering and hollering over the upset.
Robyn walked to one end of the platform, standing in the center of the end, roughly 5 feet from the edge, adjusting her belt as she did. Her staff and knives were cleaned up, and her outfit was pristine once more. Yay for multiple sets of clothes. She stretched some, pulling her arms behind her as she stared up into the sun, squinting. Her fight would be a warm one, no doubt about that. Not to mention the fact she was wearing full-length cargo pants, and boots. Her shirt wasn’t so bad; the material breathed easy, and the vest on top only fluttered in the slight breeze, providing no warmth. She actually wasn’t wearing her hat today, worried about losing it to the waters below. To make up for it, her light-purple hair was done up in a braid, the thick mass of hair bouncing against her back as she moved.
Robyn yawned again, but not from boredom. The gentle waves around the platform had a calming effect, and she had to shake her head to clear it. Now was not the time to get distracted or sleepy. Rubbing her eyes, which were already starting to hurt from the glare the waters threw, her ears were perky and alert as she awaited her opponent, tail lashing in anticipation for the coming fight.

It was nice and quiet out here far into the ocean without the loud and murkious roar of a large crowd. There were boats and ships and even some flying contraptions to carry the higher paying fans out here to sea. Scattered through the area like a floating presence of audience and omnious companion. Hundreds or even thousands of eyes stared out to the platform which quaintly seemed to float by itself out here. Like a shadow which whispers just over your shoulder at all times yet doesn't alter a thing in your environment. Everyone else would have to stay behind and stare their eyes onto screens layed around the rest of the arena territory to get their fix.
Cameramen never seemed to grasp the entire concept of the fight to Ralpheal though. They always seemed to miss the simple details or fixate on concepts they found important to the public. Behind a screen they could never capture the true essence of the fight, the great thrill of battle that encompassed the very aura of the warriors on their stage. He wasn't the dancer this time, that time had passed for him now like the spotlight often does for shooting stars. Still, that thrill wasn't furfilled within him, he wanted to see where his victor ended up in the end of his show.
Off in the distance but still a front lining perspective on the match a large red dragon boat held some prestige riders. A large canopy dressed in white sat in the center of the boat large enough for thirty guests to sit upon it. Ralph made it an uneven thirty one this time though, brushing by on the boarding with his head down and in the shade of one of the larger guest that made the others uneasy boarding such a small boat. The captain seemed unfamilar with him for a moment on the ride over here but Ralph simply told him that he was a contender scoping out the competition. Little to his knowledge that was only half true from his recent defeat to Luca.
He sat though uncomfortable there on the edge of a porcelian bench and watched out to spectate the match at hand. The larger guest next to him, which had seemed to make the boat sink abit and had the rowers working overtime, inquiered endlessly about the choice of food on this ride. With great difficulty the captain attempted over again and again to explain that his boat didn't have the convienance of a snack bar. Ralpheal heaved a sigh before he rested his cheek on his left palm which had it's elbow against his knee. Maybe it was a bad idea to get aboard this ship to watch a match that no longer had anything to do with him.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer - BOOOM!
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer- BOOM!
Brrratt, brrrrrrrat, brrrrrrat brrrat!
At first an ear splitting whistling sound filled the air, and then things seemed to go from bad to worse. A giant explosion went off and above the arena there was a break in the clouds as a large metallic protrusion appeared as clear as day, and it was diving at an alarming rate. Only the most attentive of spectators would be able to make out the image of Dan Luca standing on the Bowsprit (front stem) of the gargantuan vehicle. The young Al Bhed was wearing an old Ship Captain’s outfit and was standing in the Captain Pose with his right foot up on what looked like a long cannon. In the boy’s left hand is a mechanical looking replica of the extremely popular rapier blade. This weapon seemed to be made with extreme care, for its exquisite work could only have been forged by the best of blacksmiths, or the best of mechanics. With lights and switches blipping on the sword, it resembled something out of a sci-fi. As the scene played out, and the airship continued on its plight, time revealed that Dan’s ship was being attacked; another whistling sound, and another explosion, only this time everyone there could see that the target was the second contender. Jerking in the air, it looked, at first, like the ship was going to fall directly down but it continued its original rate of descent.
Wind blew Dan’s about and as he fell closer to the ground cameras caught Dan’s pose, and more importantly his face, the boy had a smug grin on; he looked completely confident and didn’t waver at all, although the stern of his vehicle was now catching fire and parts were flying off, falling into the ocean below. Soon after machine guns were going off; Dan was firing back at his anonymous assailant.
Throughout this entire scene, Dan Luca didn’t wince; he stood there on the bow of his ship, not moving and inch. There was about a good two minute drop from the airship’s position to the ground, which meant that it was running out of time, DAN was running out of time. Only one hundred and twenty seconds before he reached certain doom, and only just now was there a second break in the clouds. The assailant? Behind Dan’s airship was a second, only this one was decorated in pretty colors and funny scenes. Cameras zoomed in on the artwork on the second ship: a limbless, bloody man biting someone else’s ankle, a devilish swordsman being thwarted by cartoony police officers, a mad scientist flinging a glowing green frisbee that actually says “Frisbee” on it. All of these scenes, plus much more, this ship was portraying scenes from the previous round?!
In the center of the comedic paint job was a picture of Ralphael , Dan’s first opponent, except he looked like a porcupine being harassed by giant toasters, one of which actually had a piece of toast in it. Underneath that depiction there were, in large green letters “Goooo LUCA!”
As soon as the second airship broke through the clouds the cannon that Luca was standing on began to rise straight up, the young man backed up and dropped his sword with the grin on his face turning to a sly smirk. Turning on its side, the cannon was built with a canal curved through one end of the barrel; reason being, this was not a weapon, but rather acted as a runway for fireworks. Rising a hand to grab a hold of the barrel, the young man put his leg up on a peg that was protruding out of the barrel, lined up with the track for the ammunition. The very next second, Dan was off; another loud BANG, and the cannon shot whatever was loaded in there, that peg was a part of the ammunition and the boy stepped onto it for the sole purpose of lifting off with the massive power from his cannon. As for his ship? Another whistling sound and a loud BOOM! From the second airship came the shot from an extremely long gun, and finally, Dan’s ship “sank”, but while it dropped Dan, in the air, ordered the deactivation via an optical command from his goggles. Rather than falling and causing a huge ruckus, the ship deconstructed itself, returning to ten different capsule pieces, each flew up in the air.
Dan was riding on a long steel post, that looked like a rocket due to the massive wick that was sparking in the back, the sparks were getting close to the nose of the rocket, and Dan was running out of time. As soon as he felt the propulsion dying he knew that he was no longer lifting in the air, and that time was almost up, so the boy dropped. Luca fell backwards, and corrected himself in the air so he was in a diving position and was falling headfirst. Behind the Al Bhed was yet another explosion.
Bang! Crackle! Crack crack crack! BANG!
A beautiful light show played above, as Dan Luca dove, his captain’s clothing peeling off of him with the plight. Underneath the young man was wearing a typical Dan outfit: fitted green leather jacket and a white tee shirt underneath, black fitted pants, and black sneakers and gloves. On Dan’s back was his backpack and long term friend, ‘Nad’, and on his face, as always were those thick green goggles. Fluorescent green swirls, red clouds, and pink mushrooms appeared, circles with various different colors, and flames licked the clouds as the show played out and the boy fell like a stone. Finally, in bright green, “LUCA!” appeared.
A second after the fireworks went off, while the lights were still in the air, an animachina activated from the second ship; large in size, a bird lifted off. Flapping its massive wings, this machine must have had a wingspan of at least thirty feet. Dan’s replica of the Argentavis magnificens leapt into the air, and its massive wingspan lifted it. Opening its beak, the bird’s first task was to swallow the pieces of the first, destroyed airship; then after doing so the huge bird machine flew back down, and sifted its body in order to fly downward. It’s shape, and maneuver made the bird far more aerodynamic than its creator, so it easily caught up with a still falling Luca, who was just a little more than half of the way into smashing face first into the water. Catching, and lifting Luca back up into the air, the Magnificens flew once around the platform. Upon being brought closer to the platform, in a safer manner than just dropping like a sack of potatoes, Dan rearranged himself on the bird’s neck so that he was actually standing on it’s back and his leading foot was on the animachina’s head. With an exasperated lurch, the bird flapped it’s wings and arched it’s head and back; the Al Bhed jumped off and pulled off a double back flip, landing perfectly on the ground in a crouching position. One knee was lowered, just barely touching the ground and the right foot was planted softly on the platform.
Flying back up and onto the airship which was already making its way away from the place, back above the clouds to return home, the machina would disappear. The scene went silent, all of the NPCs in which Dan’s author could temporarily control stood silent as if they were waiting for something, there had to be something amazing coming… He was still; his opponent was there, the airships, the explosions!!! ….. Something had to be coming. And then he did it: Dan Luca slowly, but suavely stood up, sliding his left leg to be straight and perfectly aligned with the right. As soon as the boy stood up he looked at the crowd and raised his hand, giving everyone a cool thumbs up pose. The crowd went wild, screaming and clapping as he did this, as he did something “amazing” that they were all waiting for. A real crowd pleaser, this boy was. But there was much more to his show, back at the arena where he fought Ralphael, there was almost nothing for him to work with, no inspiration, so Dan had to dig deep to find the creativity to appeal to the crowd. But here this is not so, here is where Dan loved to be. Whenever the boy looked at sand he caught an instant reminder of Home, and how things were there. For the first seventeen years of his life Dan lived in a place that seemed almost parallel to Gaia, a distant world, a different universe. Dan made a new family here, new friends, but he was still homesick and whenever he was around sand, that inspiration hit him. As for the airships, those were replicas of the original masterpiece created by the old master of his people; no these weren’t made for actual combat, and could only stay in the air for a certain amount of time, and in no way, shape, or form were ready for practical use; but for a show they worked wonders. Sand and airship battles and cheering crowds, it seemed like everything that made Dan Luca happy was all right here, on this beach. Now it was his responsibility to make everyone else happy, just as they were doing for him.
Just then, when a thought was just about to hit Dan, he caught something on his HUD, a certain figure that the machine still had information on. The figure was that of none other than Ralphael! By the time he realized this, the crowd was already cheering; “Luuuca, Luuuuca, Luuuuuca!” So the Al Bhed smirked, he reached down and clicked a capsule, then slammed it into the ground beneath him. Whistling, Dan ordered the small RC to activate its speakers.
“Ralph-eye-elll, Ralph-eye-elll, Ralph-eye-elll!” While the crowd was cheering him on, Dan started directing them in a different route; his voice was being picked up and escalated to everyone via the powerful speakers of the Soundwave. At first people seemed confused, then Dan pointed out to where the HUD said that his last opponent was, and sure enough, there was Ralph, on a ship, watching the match. Cameras pointed to where Dan was pointing with his index finger. It didn’t take long though, because a short while later the crowd was cheering and clapping and they were all chanting Ralphael’s name.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we didn’t get to give our wonderful combatant the round of applause that he deserved for being such a great opponent! He’s real tough, and my mind was racing the entire match, RALPHAEL, RALPHAEL, RALPHAEL!”
Dan looked over at his old opponent and gave a genuine smile, raised his hand and lifted the blast goggles a little, revealing his eyes to Ralph, the young man began to join the crowd in clapping. Soon after, the goggles were replaced, and the Soundwaves was ordered to repress the speakers. Before finally speaking to his opponent, Dan reached down and grabbed a hold of another capsule, pressing the button and smashing it between his hands, the young man shook his head, the hands which were clasped together pushed apart from the construction of another machina. Luca’s Centipede appeared, wrapping around his body, holding its nine feet of length against its creator. The ocelli were green, a dull light, but green nonetheless.
“Pnudran, fa pudr byccat du dra caluht nuiht, E's jano bnuit uv pudr uv ic. Ed caasc dryd fa fana pudr nekrd ymm ymuhk, uin cleahlac yna fuhtanvim, yht ed'c hu xiacdeuh dryd fa'na aqlabdeuhym. E ghuf fryd oui'na lybypma uv Rikei, pid dutyo ec so desa du creha! You there, opponent, I’m ready! Begin when you wish...”
With his HUD displaying a grey figure to represent his opponent, and two of the twelve balls in the upper left hand corner of the goggles, and two PIP views of his opponent in the bottom right corner of the HUD screen, Dan waited for his opponent’s reaction. Just then, another voice exclaimed
“Round II of the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai…
Robyn Isedan Vs. Daneuva "Cysiam" Luca !”
The Soundwave machina moved forward some, and its hood opened up two headlights which were bright red and shone one Robyn. A subtle light, but it had its cameras fixed on the female.
“Something about this girl…” The boy spoke to himself, “something about her that I’m getting from… ‘Nad, prepare an NNEMP for deployment.” A whistle and beep later, and Dan was back to continuing to wait, prepared for just about anything, as he was when he had just landed on the platform. He was positioned just two feet from the edge, wanting to be as far away from this girl for now, at least until the fight begins. By now, Robyn had started stretching, wanting to make sure she was warmed up for whenever her opponent finally decided to arrive. Dan Luca Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer - BOOOM!
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer- BOOM!
Brrratt, brrrrrrrat, brrrrrrat brrrat! Her tail bushed out, and her ears burrowed themselves in her hair as an earsplitting sound exploded through the air. She’d also nearly jumped about 5 feet in the air, but most people were too busy looking up to notice her scare. And she followed their gazes, bright green eyes squinting against the sun. What the hell…. More fireworks and gunshots sounded off, and by now, her hands had actually come up to offer some extra protection against the incredibly loud sounds. She watched the display with incredulousness, her face basically in a “What the hell” expression from start to finish, still staring at the kid when he finally landed on the platform. Now that the biggest sounds were done with, her hands had lowered back to her sides, but her ears were still pressed down, and she flinched at every small boom sound he made activating his machinas. Was this guy always so noisy? The fox girl stared at the machines he’d brought out, wondering just what the hell was going on? He had some weird thing twined around his body, and the other one was shining a red light on her. His call for the battle to start was heard, but she seemed more curious, and possible worried about the thing looking at her. ”Uh…sure…ok…” Still eyeing the grounded one warily, she reached behind her to grab her staff from her belt, pressing the button in the middle to extend it to its full length. The crowd was somewhat surprised at her general calmness compared to her last fight. Where was the smirking, grinning, rough and tough girl who’d managed to win against Omi Barsait, after jumping off the roof of the arena? A few would probably realize that after Dan’s little display, there wasn’t really much she could do that wouldn’t just make her look like she was trying too hard. So she would settle into her stance, right foot forward, right end of her staff held over her right leg and into her dead side, left end up in the air next to her head. Her tail had finally settled down, and was waving slowly back and forth, almost touching the ground. Her stance had her ready to spring in any direction, at the slightest movement. Funnily enough, despite her predatory nature, Robyn was the “wait-and-see” type. And that’s what she would do: wait and see just what this kid had up his sleeve with these little robot things. Regaining a bit of her confidence and general spunkiness, she'd flash her trademark grin, a predatory smirk that said she was here, she was ready, and she was going to have some fun.

Ralpheal wasn't surprised when the thunder in the sky revealed two mechanical ships in the midst of battle. Having battled with Luca before it would have been more of a surprise if he had simply drifted in with a small raft. With Ralph had his fight with Luca he had entered with the roaring boom of a beast on it's approach. The anticipation was a thrill at first to think of his opponent a colossul beast, though the end result was still amusing to see. A small little man mocking thundering footsteps and a piercing shreech.
He saw on the side of the opposing craft an image which he could assume was an interpretation of himself. Why was he a pourcipine? Perhaps it was because his greatest form of attack against Luca was the darts he threw or just a random denominator. "Very funny." He thought as the battle ensued to it's explosive finale.
The crowd went wild as he rose his thumb into the air and Ralpheal leaned back abit now. Then Luca seemed to turn his attention right to him and began to chant out his name. It was nice the fact that he was actually saying his name correctly, most people say 'Rapheal' instead. Overall though this was quite unfortunate for him, he didn't want to be noticed much.
As the camera turned towards him he lifted the collar of his coat to try to conceal his face. Too little too late as the captain grabbed his arm and rose it above like the champion of a boxing match. Standing now and waving his left hand with a sarcastic grin he humoured the crowd. Behind him the rather large man was blabbering about how splendid it was that such a spectacle could be directed so closely to himself. Another man tried to push in a marketing sign he had brought with him in the view of the camera.
It was going to be a long day...

Having been one of the judges to review the D Man's profile, Rhoslyn had planned ahead for this match, and was quite comfortably sitting on his yacht with what looked like the kind of earmuffs you put on in an indoor firing range. These were, in fact, exactly what they were - a person who fought with sound, after all, would have negative effects on people with sensitive hearing.
Still, in case they had words to exchange before fighting, the fey moved the muff on his right ear and leaned in towards the fight, casually smoking as he waited for the violence to commence.

With that smirk still planted on Dan’s face, the young man looked at his opponent; she didn’t look like much, no, but she DID advance to the second round which could only mean that she had some kind of toughness to her. This arena was much smaller than the last, which meant that Dan had far less area to move around, which also meant that this was time to play a little more strategically. Looking the female over, Dan nodded; the HUD screen was getting a feed from the Soundwave, whose red light was still shining on Robyn. Soon enough the red light shut off, and was replaced by a blinking green light. This time, however, the light wouldn’t shut off; the light remained on and blinked on and off in increments of two seconds. In this Dan wouldn’t be hindered at all; however the light should catch a fair amount of attention from Robyn seeing as how the Al Bhed was directly behind his machina. That centipede machina was still on the boy’s shoulder, its head only inches from Dan’s and it’s ocelli glowing brighter with each passing second. In this sunlight, it wouldn’t be like that for very long.
On the bottom left corner of the goggles color and definition replaced the grey replica of Dan’s opponent, and within a few seconds there was a perfect copy of the woman there, just as with Ralphael and pretty much every opponent Dan ever faced. Now, before beginning, Dan took a few more moments to look his opponent up and down, and more importantly note a few of her key physical differences. The first thing that came to mind were the woman’s ears; this was perfect for the mechanic, big ears usually meant big sense of sound, which usually meant sensitivity to sound, which meant that the Soundwave was probably going to be Dan’s best friend in this fight. Second, Dan took notice of the tail; this meant to Dan that the woman both has an impeccable balance, and possibly meant that her maneuverability was also very high and quick, which brought Dan to his next observation… Robyn’s stature. She was very small, much like him and his brother, so like them she was probably fast and agile. What this meant to Luca was that he couldn’t, or rather shouldn’t use concentrated blasts.
No.
“Ymnekrd, Cuihtfyja, ica ouin fetacbnayt cuiht pmycdc. Ihmega fedr Ralphael, E haat oui du zicd syga hueca, tuh'd funno ypuid brocelym yddylgc fedr drec uha. Fa'mm ymmuf ran du tavayd rancamv. Fine, woman, you do not wish to begin, then the first hit is MINE! I’ll warn you now, this will be a very quick match!”
‘Vencd, E sicd caa ruf yllinyda so tatildeuh ec. Ykyehcd fumv tasuhc yht molyhc, dra Cuihtfyja fungc fuhtanc. Mad'c caa ev drec fusyh ryc yho namydeuh.’
Thinking to himself, Dan made the first optical command, and the first Soundwave machina rushed forward. Seeing Robyn pull out her weapon, Dan decided that if this fight did indeed get to close combat, it would probably be best for him if her weapon usage was limited… So, ‘Nad came into play. Only moments before Dan Luca ordered his partner in crime to prepare a NNEMP, and so when the Soundwave drove out, the right strap on Dan’s backpack undid itself, one of the arachnid-like limbs stretched down to the young man’s belt and undid a capsule, allowing it to slam into the ground. As soon as the small ball hit the floor, Dan stomped on it; with this action the button was pressed and the device was destroyed. As fluidly as it was destroyed, another machina was created. Lifting the boy’s foot, a toaster – like machine appeared. Apparently it was another RC, and was a little bit smaller than the Soundwave.
Dan Luca’s NNEMP machina darted out from underneath the Al Bhed’s foot, reaching its max speed of 40 MPH in four seconds, the NNEMP would look almost as if it were trying to ram right into Robyn. However, although the second machina rushed out so quickly, the Soundwave didn’t. It was driving forward, but wasn’t nearly as fast as its smaller counterpart. After reaching half way between Dan and his opponent the sound wave let out a loud blast. Although the sound was generally loud, the speaker device within the machina was pointed forward, aimed at Robyn. The sound resembled the explosion from the airships, but was right there on the platform with the combatants, so while it wasn’t particularly louder than the others, it was a lot closer to home. Thanks to Dan’s impeccable timing, the Soundwave released its blast at the same time that the NNEMP was supposed to make contact with Robyn, hopefully one would take attention off the other; regardless, both had their purposes.

Robyn watched the guy, wondering just what the hell was going on. Little machines running around, people talking in weird languages. Then again, she could speak another language herself, but his didn’t sound like anything she’d ever heard. His first machine turned its flashing from red to green, and she could only wonder what its purpose was. See, she hadn’t had much time to watch any of the other fights, a circumstance she was beginning to regret. He called out to her, apparently translating his own message (which made absolutely no sense; what purpose did that serve?). Something caught her attention though. In his first language, she heard the name “Ralphael”, the name of his first opponent. That word seemed to be missing from the English version, however, and she wondered if this guy was running on a fandub.
She gripped her staff, gloves catching on the metal and making sure her hold would not slip. She warily watched both the machine and its controller, eyes darting up and down quickly. Thus, she wasn’t too startled when it started driving forward, nor when his backpack thingy pulled something from the kid’s belt. Her eyes did widen when another machine popped up and suddenly started rushing toward her. Straight toward her. What could he be planning?
The fox girl shifted her stance a little, putting more weight on her back left leg, setting her right on the ball of the foot. The rushing machina took more of her attention, seeing as it was the one getting closer. Ears lay back and tail twitched as she waited, crouching down somewhat and preparing herself. At least one good thing, something going that fast couldn’t turn or dodge very quickly, so all she had to do was wait for it to get close enough…
About two seconds before she figured it would hit her, she hopped forward, pushing off with her left leg to quickly land on her right, then swinging her left like a pendulum, and just booted the crap out of the thing. Unless it weighed like, 200 pounds or something, that thing was going flyin’, and with the way she had aimed, hopefully straight back towards Dan.
Her little rush forward had changed the dynamic of his plan by a split second, so instead of the soundwave attacking right as the other one made contact, her foot would have just kicked it when the soundwave…well, sounded.
A blast rocked through Robyn’s head, ears tingling as everything vibrated beyond belief. She couldn’t even hear the bark of pain she let out, everything was so loud. She dropped to her right knee, dropping her staff in order to cover her ears, little good that would do after the fact. Her eyes stayed open, though they were squinted, glaring in pain and anger at the one who had caused this. So that was his game. Make her deaf, bind her with pain so he could attack all he wanted.
Whole body shaking, she slowly let go of her ears. Another growl escaped her lips when all she heard was a dull roar, like static. She’d heard louder sounds before, so she knew the effect would only be temporary, but it still pissed her off that one of her senses was out for the moment. On this small stage though, there was nowhere to hide, so she didn’t need her hearing as much. Not rising from her crouch, she lowered her hand to the ground and suddenly sprang forward, straight towards the soundwave. The boy was only secondary, yes, he could control the machina, but if there was nothing to control….
Considering how small the platform was, it shouldn’t take long to reach it, not long at all with her speed. She wasn’t as graceful as usual though, the shock in her ears messing with the fluid there, and toying with her balance. But when you’re above average, a drop down still leaves you at average, rather than bad. When she got close enough, she would rise up, stepping in time to swing her booted left foot at the soundwave, just like she had done for the NNEMP. Only this time, she was aiming for the water. Let’s see his little robots survive that.

"What a god damn coward!" Rylen shouted, gripping the railing he was leaning over so tightly his knuckles became bleached white. The black, hardened claws of his hands dug into the flesh of his palms, and he bared his fangs as he suppressed a low, rumbling growl in his throat. His ears were swept back and his bushy tail curled up behind him rigidly. He came to watch Robyn's fight from a yacht reserved for spectators since his had ended rather prematurely, and he did not look much worse for the wear besides a busted nose--which by this time had healed to the point of looking like little more than a scrape near his nostril. However, he did not look the least bit happy. He looked about ready to tear someone to pieces, and that someone was Daneuva "Cysiam" Luca.
Rylen knew he hated Dan the moment Dan's flashy entrance began. For Rylen, no one reason sufficed when it came to expressing that hatred; he had far too many of them. To highlight a few: he hated Dan's excessive showmanship, he hated all of the incessant, ear-splitting noise, and he hated the smug look on the boy's face. But none of those reasons really stirred the tumultuous rage in Rylen. All of it agitated the half-wolf, sure, but that was not why he was gritting his teeth and glaring venomously at the boy, seething in half-restrained fury.
No, the reason Rylen truly felt such an intense hatred for Dan was due to the Al Bhed's fighting style. Like Robyn, Rylen had not witnessed Dan's first match in the tournament. Also like Robyn, Rylen possessed a crippling sensitivity to the kind of extremely loud noises Dan seemed to love having his machina produce at every opportunity. He spent most of the match up to this point covering his ears and hissing his discontent. The last explosive sound wave that rippled from the tiny machina in front of Robyn nearly had Rylen doubling over, and he was on a boat at least fifteen feet away from the edge of the fighting platform itself!
But Rylen could not fault Dan for the tactic of trying to rob his opponents of their senses. All fair in love and war, right? Rather, it was how Dan implemented that tactic that had Rylen about ready to riot. Using a multitude of machines to carry out his maneuvers did not sit well with the half-wolf at all. Whatever the tournament organizers felt, Rylen thought using machines like that bordered on an unfair amount of extra help and interference. Sure, everyone had their tools and weapons, but being able to remotely command a small squadron of independent machines did not make for much of a one-on-one fight.
Of course, Rylen could also be quite narrow-minded in his perspective on what did qualify as a fair-and-square match. He was usually not the type to even give a damn what his opponent brought to the table. But he did wonder if it really made a difference if you had a living, breathing pet to assist you in battle, or a lifeless, soulless machine. In the end both could function remotely to attack or hinder the opponent with their own assortment of abilities, splitting up that combatant's attention in a crucial way while their master remained out of harm's way. It tasted like a big cop-out to Rylen, and Dan's general over-the-top, arrogant attitude certainly did not help sell the idea to the half-wolf.
"Is that how it is? He lets those robots do all the work for him? He's no god damn fighter! He's just a coward." Rylen muttered to no one in particular, as most of the other spectators on the same yacht had wisely decided to stay away from the fuming half-wolf.
Come on, Robyn. Make this punk eat the floor! He thought, and his hand gripped the rail even tighter as he fought back the urge to leap over it, swim out to the platform, and take care of the machines himself so that Robyn could focus solely on their master. But he put all of his faith in his ally, and he sucked in a breath in palpable anticipation as she aimed to kick one of the machines into the deep. You can do it!

KytanaTheThief About two seconds before she figured it would hit her, she hopped forward, pushing off with her left leg to quickly land on her right, then swinging her left like a pendulum, and just booted the crap out of the thing. Unless it weighed like, 200 pounds or something, that thing was going flyin’, and with the way she had aimed, hopefully straight back towards Dan. Two things happened simultaneous to this movement; seeing as how Dan was always on the watch and had four different views (his own, two PIPs and the figure) of Robyn, he saw this kick coming and acted accordingly. The first of the two actions were the optic command to the NNEMP machina to cut to the left. Seeing as how it was already at a top speed of 40mph when the command was given, the machina couldn’t stop on a dime and turn, but there is a maneuver that the wheels of the NNEMP allowed for it to, if not avoid the full brunt force of the kick, at least not take a direct hit: drift. So, drifting to its left (Robyn’s right), the machina avoided the direct line of Robyn’s kick. Secondly, with the drift, the NNEMP’s main function was activated. What this machina is mainly used for is the disarming and dismantling of the opponent’s weaponry. Dan saw steel or some kind of metal in Robyn’s hands, and if she were to get in close with that kind of attack then he’d be in trouble. Daneuva didn’t appreciate melee combat at all, much less when the opponent has a weapon to attack melee from mid range. With a blast of centripetal magnetic force the NNEMP pulled in whatever metallic items were not only on Robyn’s person, but also were within an adjusted five meter circle around the NNEMP. The pull on the metals would be sudden, and strong. Although the NNEMP didn’t weigh over one hundred pounds, the force of the magnetic pull, working with the movement and momentum of both the target and the machina would be enough to easily pull Robyn if she held onto the staff hard enough. The point of using the magnetism at this point was: 1- pulling the staff out of her grip so suddenly could easily throw her off balance and turn her perfect kick into a sloppy and misplaced one, or even trip and drop the girl to the floor. 2- the NNEMP was close to Robyn and almost directly underneath her, if there were any blades or knives hidden, then Dan could cut and harm Robyn with her own weapons while disarming her as well. 3- the effects of the magnet were strongest when closest to the opponent, so using the magnet while directly underneath Robyn would attract any hidden weapons or metal tools and objects on her person.
If for any reason Robyn was still able to kick the small machina efficiently, then she would be kicking the back, right corner and send the thing spinning out of control. The way that Dan drifted his machina was so that the trajectory of the robot being hit in that particular corner would ultimately also smash into Robyn’s other leg. Seeing as how she was kicking, and the momentum would be holding the left foot forward, there would be almost no way for her right foot to move in time to avoid collision. End result of this little show being? … The NNEMP taking whatever metal was on the girl’s person and crashing into the water with it. There was also a possibility that the machina took Robyn with it, the collision of this miniature vehicle could be highly detrimental, broken bones would be extremely possible in this situation.
One thing about Robyn’s author’s post is that the woman didn’t expect a reaction on the NNEMP’s behalf, or such a clever one anyway; nor did she expect that the machina had such a function that could throw her off balance, and perhaps even trip her. So, she continued on writing actions that Robyn would take after the kick, actions that probably won’t be taking place now. However, as for the Soundwave machina, Dan would continue watching Robyn, and if she actually did try to come forth and attack it, he would have a course of action planned for that attempt as well. In the very least, this is going to make for a very interesting match. For now, that particular machina stopped rushing into Robyn so quickly, and was cruising steadily towards her, it’s headlights finally turning off… It was preparing for something..
Dan Luca hadn’t hardly moved, most of his commands were optical, aside from the voice commands for ‘Nad and the NNEMP machina, so finally reaching up, the Al Bhed caressed the head of the Centipede that was wrapped around him. This particular machina hadn’t moved since it debuted, so it was waiting there, it’s head now vibrating as the ocelli grew brighter and brighter red with each passing second. Dropping his hand, Daneuva grabbed a hold of two more capsules, and took a few steps to the right. Not moving much, Dan kept an eye on his opponent, who was for the most part, still on the opposite end of the platform. Time to please the crowd some more was almost here, he just had to begin, then continue to control his opponent. Seeing as how his theory about the big ears being sensitive to big sound was correct, Dan assumed that by the reaction to his machina's blast, Robyn's head was probably spinning. Dan could imagine her hearing ringing as she attempted to maneuver about, and he could definitely see her in pain at the moment, if not then it would creep up on her soon enough. So, what he deduced was that he would allow her to recover a bit, and regain her hearing, so that the next attack he had planned for her would bring him even further instant gratification. Causing her more instant pain, and hopefully leading to a knockout victory; although his next plan of attack could easily work without the woman hearing at her fullest potential, it would work best and to please Dan most if she wasn't tone deaf at the time of the onslaught.

"There's no need to yell, darling."
Isabella felt very uneasy by commenting in such a way to Rylen, but the way he was reacting to the distant fight was creating an uneasy atmosphere for the well off. The last thing she needed was for staff to try and prevent him from watching his friend fight. Rylen had been pretty good with controlling his temper, but with the way things had been going today Isabella thought of him as a ticking bomb ready to explode. The most she could do was to speak to him with a level head. Her hand moved across the railing and was placed lightly on the top of his. She squeezed his hand while turning to look up at him, her eyes as if they were trying to sooth him.
It was difficult even for her to not show just how irritated she was by the loud noise. It must had been that much worse for the poor wolf. The headache inducing sounds were just the tip of the iceberg though. Isabella had missed practically all of Rylen's match this round, having waited to tip the man who took him out to the platform. She didn't expect the fight to end so quickly, and she especially didn't expect that Rylen's opponent would forfeit his match. That in itself was probably tearing Rylen up. Winning by forfeit was probably a lot more disappointing to him than having a chance to test his ability.
However, Isabella would try to ease the fury Rylen was working himself in to. Her eyes returned to the platform where the fight continued. She attempted to offer a fair insight to what was happening and Robyn's opponent,
"It takes a tremendous skill to be able to craft and control automatons. It's an art form just like any other style."
Hopefully her efforts to have Rylen craft a more balanced opinion weren't going to push him over the edge.

Not an incredibly huge deal. Robyn’s actions happened pretty much the same way as before, except for a few key differences. Too bad, it seemed her kick was off center, the little machina drifting to the right just before her foot connected. It still sent it spinning, though, her enhanced strength possibly even still sending it off the ground. The odds of it going into her right foot, though, were slim to none; her kicking had enough force that it should counteract most, if not all of its momentum, sending it more right than forward, and likely even backwards. Even if something is moving towards you, pushing back on its momentum in any way would not send it closer towards you; it would at least slow it down, and again, in this case, should send it flying back and to the right from her perspective.
Still, the magnet effect took place, and Robyn found her staff ripped from her grasp in her surprise. The vixen’s gloves provided a solid grip, but the last thing she was expecting was a strong magnet. If that was even what it was; she was too preoccupied to really be thinking about it. Her personality was part animal, after all, she was action and reaction, with little planning ahead to be done. So her staff was ripped from her hands. Too bad his machine had swerved to the right and not the left; since she was holding the staff over her right side, it didn’t have to go through her to connect with its sudden attractor, leaving her balance pretty much intact, although the pull forward had her foot coming down harder than she had planned. Her daggers were pulled as well, slicing through the sheaths that held them in place. One green, and one gold cloth-bound hilt would find themselves parting from their master. The only thing left were…her shuriken. It was really unsure what would happen to them, given the angle of the pull. They were behind, and the machina in front. With no momentum, even the strongest pull wouldn’t be enough to send them through her, although, like her staff, it gave her an extra pull forward. She was strong, though, and as long as she could keep leverage with the ground, she wasn’t going to be dragged around anywhere.
(edited part)
Or was she? As everything in her grip was pulled, her arm was suddenly jerked down and to the side, following the path of the robot. The tug toppled her balance, the fox crashing to the floor on her chest, arm splayed out as though it were a puppy trying to follow its master. She also felt a rough grinding feeling in her arm. Luckily, her bones were strong enough that they were able to keep the pins and bars in her arm, for that's what was causing this sudden unexpectedness, from tearing right out of it. Her other hand lashed into the wood as she was tugged again, the off-course NNEMP doing its job. It took all her strength to keep from going after it, but the vixen managed to stay where she had fallen. The magnet, if it only had a 5 foot range, should have been sent spinning far enough by her kick that Robyn would only have to endure a second or so of her arm being yanked away from her. If not, she would just claw her way in the opposite direction.
The sound attack happened as normal, her ears ringing and her hearing fading. She spared no thought for her weapons; they were replaceable, and she didn’t need them to be able to fight. In fact, she actually preferred fighting without them. What was that phrase? Ah, yes, “tooth and nail”. That described Robyn’s attitude perfectly. But her sudden loss of balance had her confused, along with the pain of the ringing in her ears. Regardless, she knew she was a sitting duck on the platform, and had to get moving as soon as possible. So, wasting no time or words, she righted herself and rushed toward the soundwave, sparing her arm an annoyed glance. She was going to kill that doctor.
(end edit)
With how small the platform was, she could cross it quite easily, especially on all fours. Her boots slapped the wood, her now unsheathed claws gouging the planks and leaving a trail behind her. If his little camera scan thing had been paying attention, it should have noticed that her arms were slightly longer than her legs, and it showed its purpose wasn’t for extra reach, although that was useful. No, again, it made her more animalistic, her body designed perfectly for running on all fours. In that state, she was speed. Dan would only be able to blink once she had righted herself before she would be upon the robot thing that had caused her so much pain, unless his reaction times were supernatural. The human brain can only process so much at a time. How was he commanding 3 different machinas with only eye twitches, anyways?
Of course, how was she to know how his creations were controlled? All she saw when she looked at him was a skinny kid with goggles on. Her instincts were animal, and since something had caused her pain, she was going to take care of that problem first, then deal with its creator. Too bad her hearing was still out, a few trickles of sound coming back in, but very muted, as though through a wall or something. She would have loved to hear Rylen’s yell, the encouragement spurring her on to kick this kid’s a**. Not that she needed any extra encouragement. He had caused her pain; no one caused her pain and got away with it. Hmm..ripping his ears off sounded nice.
So, Robyn would dash on all fours to the soundwave, rising up right beforehand to get the best leverage for her kick, adjusting for any movement the little machine would try to pull to escape its fate. Whatever it was, it was still limited by normal laws of speed and physics. Her reaction time was much faster than something controlled remotely, unless there was something going on that she didn’t know about.
As she ran, the crowd cheered her name, many following Rylen’s lead and booing the blonde for attacking the fox girl’s hearing. Not that she had any clue why, but the spectators seemed to like her; perhaps because she was one of the few girls? Robyn herself would say it was because she was damn sexy. Sexy and dangerous, and she was going to prove that to the little punk who thought he could take her.
Unless he pulled some completely unexpected way to move the machina out of her path, like having it jump or something, that thing was going in the water. But she would spare no thought for that, only making sure it was taken care of. If it was, she would use the same movement to swing her leg back to the ground and take off again on all fours, this time straight for Dan. He didn’t like melee combat? Well, he was about to be in the thick of it. Still moving blindingly fast, having wasted momentum only to rise earlier, she would barrel for his legs, jumping about a foot in the air and twisting sideways to crash her body into his horizontally. Her face would still be turned towards him, so if he made any sudden movements, she would be able to see it, even if her actions would be limited in the air.
No one messed with the fox.

For the sake of making sense and proceeding, the NNEMP machina was smashed in the back end during its drift and spun out, but magically missed Robyn’s leg that it was aiming for, and continued spinning until it fell off the platform and sank to its demise. At that moment the PIP on Dan’s HUD grew distorted and disappeared. One of the three green orbs on the top right corner of the goggle’s HUD turned red and dimmed some, and then the boy nodded and continued trotting towards the left, where he was originally headed. At this point the ocelli of the centipede machina reached their highest point of light and were strobing slowly. If one were to touch the machina without being ready, they would, no doubt, pull their hand back in surprise. Although it wasn’t burning hot, the cold, hard steel wasn’t all that cold. Now it was only a matter of time…
‘Woah, what the…’
“’Nad, drana'c cusadrehk vihgo kuehk uh drana, keja sa dra naytc vun dryd mycd HHASB veamt, E fyhd y vaat uv dra upzaldc, yht suna esbundyhdmo dra faekrd, cewac yht vunla halaccyno du updyeh cyet upzaldc!”
On the figure there were a number of small green balls that lit up, and then on the right hand corner of the screen there was displayed a number of the objects that were pulled off of Robyn’s person. Finally, however, there was one cloudy object, and it was pointing to the woman’s right arm.
"Aha! E ghaf cusadrehk fyc ib, drana'c cusa geht uv rettah faybuh eh drana, dra chaygo meddma Wolverine fyhhypa!"
Smirking and looking over at the Soundwave, the cameras on the HUD side of his goggles followed his eyeballs’ movements and calculated what the Al Bhed was looking at, and followed so closely and precisely that every twitch and jerking command that the boy’s oculars gave, the goggles transmitted to the grounded machina. It was ordered to cut in towards the female and drive at top speed into her. She was, at that point, recovering from the magnetism, and making her way towards the Soundwave. Right before Robyn dropped to all fours Daneuva clicked the button on one of his grasped capsules, while screaming at the same time.
“E ryja oad du caa... E'ja caah ahuikr... E'ja caah duu silr.. E ryja paah lincat, pid fedr so clnaftnejan eh ryht E femm caa du ed dryd so sylrehy yht E ujanlusa..”
Simultaneous with his words, the Al Bhed also sent the activated device hurling towards the collision point. This small ball was thrown to hit the ground just a second before the Soundwave and Robyn were to meet. Just before being kicked the Soundwave also pulled a drift, in towards the opposite leg that was kicking, however this one didn’t use its final function, but rather threw a compressed sonic blast. Aiming at the opposite leg’s kneecap, Dan was trying to take away Robyn’s balance yet again. She was already disorientated from the loud sounds, and her balance wasn’t excellent as it usually was, so with average maneuverability, this kind of attack (on the leg posted down in order to allow the woman to pull her other back and kick) could be more than your average detriment against Dan. With her speed and momentum, taking out that leg could mean her flying off of the platform and ending up in the water.. That was Dan’s goal, if he was able to get her into the water, then he could capitalize when she was trying to resurface, giving him an easy victory. What was more is that capsule that was thrown, when it finally reconstructed it was yet another NNEMP machina. Upon construction, it immediately activated its magnetism, again at a readjusted distance of five meters. Once again, the magnets were activated on the woman’s right side, this, along with the blast to the knee and Robyn’s momentum from running at top speed then trying to transfer all of that momentum into a swinging kick that would most likely fail at this point, would certainly be enough to throw her, rather comically at that, into the water, well over the platform and even perhaps past the boundaries for the ring out. The reason, by the way, that her kick would most likely be a failure, is because of the NNEMP’s magnetic pull, it not only will throw her balance off, but till also pull in her target. The sudden disappearance of the Soundwave should be enough to make a woman miss her kick. Unless of course, there is something that both Dan and his Author are missing here. To be honest, both are looking forward to what kind of miracle is going to save Robyn from this attack.

Dan Luca Despite his opponent’s disregard for clear physics, and the fact that the NNEMP machina was still going to ram into her other leg, but she decided to either puppetmaster the machina or gaseous snake her way out of a broken leg, Luis is willing to let it go in order to continue with the match. [This. Don't do it.]
