I'm listening to it right now, so I will make a thread, because it's one of the best songs and it doesn't have one yet!

Anyway... I have only seen the movie (sadly crying ) so all my comments will be about that.

From the beginning of the song, I love it. Angel's voice... heart

It's so fun to watch and to listen to!

I must say, when I saw it the first time, I thought Collins was going to do a pole dance Mimi style, since he seemed to be stripping >.< And I was like, OH GOD NO D:

But then I saw it and loved it ^^

One of my favorite parts is where Angel and Collins are running from pole to pole towards the camera... it's just so smooth and it's exhilarating to see them coming towards the camera so fast.

I just love it ^^

SQUEEEEEEEE!

For whatever reason, despite being a RENThead for several years, I never really liked Santa Fe before I saw the movie.

Yes, I suppose this makes me some sort of blashphemer.

I think it was the setting of the subway, and how it allowed for Collins to be much more playful than he is on stage during the song (or at least the Collins I saw wasn't as playful as JLM). Plus, the enteraction between Collins and Angel is just priceless....and the two of them and the other passengers! Angel sitting on the businessmen's laps and switching their hats? TOO CUTE! heart

Santa Fe has been stuck in my head for like three weeks straight. >_x I freaking love the song, but danggg. Being in the middle of math class singing about sunny Santa Fe being nice and not even realizing it is kind of weird... especially when people notice. D:

Anyway. That was slightly off-topic.

I agree, it was ADORABLE! heart in the movie. On stage it was just odd because it seemed like they had no reason to be singing it since they weren't going anywhere...the subway idea in the movie was much better.

Also, SQUEE! big time at the semi-Angel/Mark moment where she squeezes his knee at the end. That was cute, mainly because Mark had that little semi-freaked out look on his face. That entire song is so damn catchy! I love it.

Yeah, the Angel/Mark moment was pretty damn adorable. But that's because THEY are both damn adorable.

Also, at the very beginning of the scene as they're walking down the stairs...watch Collins. He cracks me up.

at first i didn't get it. I was like "it's so random, why are they talking about Santa Fe when they live in NY?" but now I get it. They're dreaming of getting away from the stuff they hate about NY, and Santa Fe seems to be the oposite of NY so that's where they want to go. Santa Fe is more of a symbol of escape in my head for that song.

yea. itworksinmybrain.

I really love Jesse L. Martin's voice. It's so deep and sexy. But it's still playful, as you can tell in the song. And what better place to sing it then in a subway, running around hanging off poles? <3 Too adorable.
