Welcome to The 2010 World Cup!
The first ever Quidditch World Cup was held in 1473 between Bulgaria and Romania.
It has been 537 years since the first Quidditch World and now, we are very lucky to have the Quidditch World Cup here at Hogwarts.
Only the strongest, bravest players are fit to be Beaters. Be proud of your positions and play as best you can!

Rules
Before we start playing, I want to make sure everyone understands the Rules. We don't want to give out any penalties.
If you're not a Beater, you can still post here. However, I encourage you to do most of your chatting in the Stands.
Do not post the answer to a Riddle in this thread (or anywhere else). Answers should always be PMed to me.
When sending trivia answers to me, please make sure the subject has your Team's Name AND the Series Number. The Series Number will be posted in the Current Riddle section of this thread.
Beaters are only allowed to send me ONE PM per Series. Multiple PMs (in a series) will cost your team points, even if the answers are correct!
If you have a question about how this game will work or anything else, ASK IT. I prefer you to post your questions here, but if you want to PM me...that's completely fine.
Take the time out and sign some autographs with your fans. The Stands is the event's main hangout thread. Participation is key to win the House Cup!

How To Play
Beaters have a very important job in Quidditch.
In order to protect your team from the Bludgers, you must correctly answer riddles.
I will post a new batch of riddles in the Current Riddle section (The next post) each week.
Each Beater will get to send ONE PM to me each week with the answers to the riddles.
The riddles will be Harry Potter related.
Correct answers mean that you've kept the Bludger away from your team, and sent it towards the other team!
Correct Answers will take 10 points away from the opposite team!
Incorrect answers means you sent the Bludger towards your own team members! (Oops!) As a result, Your own team will lose 10 points from their score, so answer carefully.

Beaters' Scoreboard
The Scoreboard that never goes above zero. Team Romania's Beaters led by 100 points! Team Romania: - 130 Points
Team Belgium: -230 Points
Series 1 Team Romania: -40 PointsLana Anima answered all three riddles correctly, hurdling 3 Bludgers at Team Belgium's Beaters. (-30 from Belgium)
Endria answered two out of three riddles correctly, but accidentally hurdled one Bludger at her own teammate, Lana!(-20 from Belgium, -10 from Romania)
Team Belgium: -80 Points
James Telemar answered all three riddles correctly, hurdling 3 Bludgers at the Chasers of Team Romania. (-30 from Romania)
Juniper Basore didn't answer the riddles in time, and was hit by all three of Lana's Bludgers.(-30 from Belgium) Series 2 Team Romania: - 30 Points
Lana Anima managed to answer all three riddles correctly, sending all of then towards James Telemar. (-30 from Belgium)
Endria answered one out of three riddles correctly. She sent a bludgers towards Junimaia, and managed to avoid hitting her own teammate this round. (-10 from Belgium, -20 from Romania)
Team Belgium: -90 Points
James Telemar Did not manage to answer any riddles correctly. He made contact with each bludger, but sent them flying directly up rather than at any players. (-30 from Belgium)
Juniper Basore answered one riddle correctly, hitting Endria, James, and herself! Ouch! (-10 from Romania, -20 from Belgium) Series 3 Team Romania: -60 PointsLana Anima answered all three riddles correctly. (-30 from Belgium)

It seemed that players had come difficulty with this series of riddles. If the initial answers were correct, but not converted to be Harry Potter related (like I specified.) then they were marked as incorrect, as part of the riddles mystery was how they related to the wizarding world.
Riddle One
I use four legs at Sunup; Two at Midday; Three at Twilight.
What am I it?
Answer: A human. Therefore in Harry Potter terms, a Muggle.
Riddle Two
I have a head; I have a tail; I am brown, but have no legs.
What am I?
Answer: A Penny. Related to Harry Potter, A knut.
