Celebrate today and go buy a pistol. I hope to shortly.

Doesn't change the fact that I can't buy a pistol until 2012. But it's about time someone pulled their head out of their a** about this issue.

This means people in Chicago and D.C. can legally own firearms now, right? Or at least handguns (I'm not sure what their laws on rifles and shotguns are, but I know D.C. had a total handgun ban).

The issue, if I recall correctly, was about Chicago's and D.C.'s bans on handguns. I don't believe long guns are banned anywhere in the U.S.

Two developments in the aparently ongoing fight.

Seems the Mayor of Chicago has no intention of standing aside. He's charging his lasers and looking for a victim. Furthermore, Chicago's favorite movie critic, Roger Ebert, has sent a tweet out via his registered Twitter account.

Let's just add to this:

Page Nine
In other news, Examiner.com reported on June 4 that, according to public filings required by disclosure laws, Brady had raised $1.7 million in the 2000 election cycle, but that dropped to just over $15,000 in 2008. So far in 2010 the group has raised only $2,500, which came from a single donor.

The Brady Bunch is dying.

I liked Daley's comment about "common sense tells you there should be less guns, not more guns." If people used common ******** sense, then we wouldn't need guns for protection in the first place, Daley. Hows about you exercise some common sense, pal? Maybe if the guy who put the ban in effect in the first place had used some common sense, you wouldn't be the city with the highest murder rates in the country.

More like taking tiny steps, one at a time. The Supreme Court seems to be enforcing their last 2nd Amendment ruling with this one.

It may not open all the doors we would like, but it has driven a big wedge in, preventing the old arguments over individual gun ownership from reemerging.

The next court cases will be at the state level. California may be able to reject their stupid laws, one at a time. Getting rid of the black box test that approves or rejects a specific gun would be the first step.

Baby steps.
It took them time to enact shitty laws like this in the first place, so it's going to take time to get rid of this s**t.

Seriously?
...
Ebert is a huge ******** douchetard then.
I hope his house gets broken into and he gets horribly assaulted.
Oh wait, I'm sure he has armed guards.
