Fender doesn't suck. Neither does Yamaha.

I'd be semi-inclined to go with Yamaha.
Only because of some of the very talented players that have made their whole empire on mostly a Yamaha.

Yamaha has some spectacular mid-to-high range stuff. Their set neck LP-style guitars are fantastic. And there's not much argument that the midrange (lowest range for Fender) guitars from Fender (standards) leave something to be desired, but the American series still retains the Fender quality.

hmmmmmm If semi-hollowbody or hollowbody then yamaha but if regular guitar then fender. I hate both but their are some certain guitars they have that I love alot. But anyway my first sentence is what you should be focusing on.

Fender, if it weren't for them there probably wouldn't be a Yamaha.

Sorry, but can't you make any other intelligible topics than one's that involve picking between two choices?
