In your opinion what is the soul? How does it differ from spirit? I'm not looking for dictionary definitions just your opinion.

Well, how I see it. The Body is the physical vessel, the Spirit what gives life to that vessel, and then the Soul is your memories, conscience, and emotions. Basically what makes you you.

Basically what makes you you. Both conscience and sub conscience? I was debating that myself I do think that it is the sub conscience and I do agree that the body is only a vessel.

A soul is simply the truest part of your soul that is part of a greater fragment.

i go with a shamanic veiw of the four bodies. the physical body is obviously our physical body. your mental body is your thinking and learning portion. your emotional body is your emotions. your spiritual body holds your past lives and soul. spirit and soul are in my opinion the same thing.

The purest part of you that you can't see but know is there. Like a consience and a spirit containing all what is purely 'you.'

I agree with Elfshaman on this one. My idea of life/afterlife is that we are all "souls", simply living one life after another, and learning from each one. Our bodies are simply vessels that we use to experience life, and learn from it. eventually, perhaps a soul will reach enlightenment and end this process, maybe moving onto an eternal world. I'm not quite sure I know what I believe on that part.
I'm not sure what you mean Satrevi. A soul is the truest part of your soul? And what do you mean a part of a greater fragment? Do you mean that a soul within a person is a fragment from a larger soul. And THAT fragment belongs to something even bigger? Makes me think of something similar to a...tapeworm. Gross comparison, but the only one I can think of. The tapeworm works as one entity, but each part is it's own separate living thing. Not quite a hive mind, but similar. If you could explain more, that'd be great, I'm very interested.

So, it takes a part of itself, and lends that part of itself to this world. That forms a human. Who then lives and has experiences of it's own. Then, comes back upon death to merge completely with the rest of the ball of eternal energy. THe ball of eternal energy, is basically just. all of you. All your lower selves, spiritual selves, and past life selves, in one communal mind and being. And when these fragments all combine. It forms your truest spiritual self. hoping that makes more sense

Ah, that makes sense now. Do you believe ALL souls are part of this larger "ball" or that each soul is its own individual "ball"?

Dragoness Arleeana Ah, that makes sense now. Do you believe ALL souls are part of this larger "ball" or that each soul is its own individual "ball"? I think each soul has it's own ball. But, I wouldn't be surprised to find some sort of community, massively interlinked group of balls on the other side forming a large ball. ... I have to say it. Balls. Ok, humor out of my system. mrgreen
