Is it just me, or has Noctis become a focal point of hype for FF Fans as of late, especially for a spin-off star.
But do you think his reputation will last, or is this standard hype?

LOL, I like this thread. xDD
Imma go with hype and substance. We don't know much about him, and his game is only a spin off. BUT he also seems to fit into the type that's popular (Cloud, Squall, Vincent), and his game's going to be a new one with nice graphics, so a lot of people will probably like him.

I think it'll last.
Everyone's creaming themselves because he's coming off to be another Cloud/Vincent/Squall, as ArikaiHeart said, and those characters for the most part are loved.
Plus, I have a soft spot for him all ready. Nomura said he was shy. That's freaking adorable.

I have to agree with Reels xD
Given I am a Noctis fangirl ;]
But the thing that is different is he isn't "I am emo which makes me cool" he is "I am shy but people make it seem like I'm cool" xD Which is new and cute 3nodding
And although the game is a spin-off it has been claimed by the workers it will be Final Fantasy's "darkest" game which will make the character rememberable and possibly a new iconic character like Cloud.

Heh, I don't know if it's really fair to call Versus "just" a spinoff. It's been Nomura's primary focus for a long time, after all, it's a full console game, and they're certainly spending enough time on development.
I think he's definitely going to be popular, if only because of looks. sweatdrop But there's just something about him that looks really, genuinely promising for a character. I think it's a good sign that Nomura's already assured us that he's not going to be a Cloud clone or some flat kind of emo kid. A shy hero does sound awesome. whee At the same time, though, with how tight-lipped Squenix is being on this game, we really don't know enough to make a judgment... Almost everything we've heard is just secondhand; there's been no new actual footage of him for a long time.
The poll doesn't exactly seem fair, though: Of course there's going to be a fair bit of hype, but that doesn't mean he won't still rank at the top. blaugh
