Kimaria Poa was busy patrolling. Of course, being a small as he was, no one would take him seriously, but he didn’t seem to mind nor care. This was practise for when he was all grown up! And, as everyone kept telling him, being grown-up would come quicker than he could imagine. So. Why not prepare for it? He hopped up onto a fallen log and took a moment to stabilise himself as it teetered dangerously under his weight. And then, casting his eyes out across the meadow he breathed in the flower-scented air to check for intruders. None? Hmm…He wrinkled his snout a little and, with a leap, moved out across the grasslands, pushing flower stems aside with his nose, not caring if he trampled on them or not. His instincts told him he was not alone and his father had always told him to never ignore them! Kireiryuu The feeling of wandering itched its way underneath Mapiya's fur. While she was normally in the company of a sibling or parent, today she was not. Sure, it was very difficult traveling the lands, but she made sure not too travel too far. She didn't want to get completely lost and unable to find her way back because of the lost of scents that were familiar to her. Being blind wasn't easy, but it was something that she never let get her down. As she picked her way carefully, she started to catch a scent getting stronger the farther she walked. Someone was here! Not to get startled, she called out first, "Hello?" She turned her head from side to side, trying to hear any sounds that'd tell her where the other lion was. Kimaria Hello? Someone was saying…hello? But who and where? Oh…wait. Poa turned ninety degrees and, pushing through the tall stems and grasses almost bumped straight into another lion. One younger than himself, but clearly of the Ela’wadiyi Pride, what with her tattoos and the feather adornment on her ear. “Oh!” He bounced back a little. “Sorry. Thought you were an intruder.” He dipped his head and ears apologetically. “I was doing a bit of patrolling, you see.” He was…certainly a serious little chap. “What’re you doing?” Kireiryuu As the other lion called out, Mapiya stood still and turned her head slightly in the direction of the rustling. She could hear the other move closer and by the sounds, it wasn't an adult. The steps weren't as loud and rumbling as her parents, but they were deeper than her own. Perhaps someone just a little bit bigger than her? She didn't know either way. Once the other came right next to her, she smiled slowly unsure if she was looking right at the male but she knew the direction where he was. "It's alright, it's good that you're keeping patrol of your clan!" She replied cheerfully before she tilted her head slightly, "Me? Well...I wanted to get more of a feel for my clan's area, though that's hard to do with my parents or siblings hovering around me so I snuck away for a little bit."

Kimaria Well she seemed friendly enough. Harmless enough, too. He supposed that other Clan members couldn’t exactly be considered intruders, after all. He nodded, exhaling softly. “Uh huh.” He knew how that felt. “My parents keep telling me to not worry about patrolling until I’m older.” He snorted. “I wish they would let me help out like my older brothers and sisters do. So…I’m doing it whether they like it or not.” He blinked. “So, what clan are you from, exactly?” Kireiryuu She listened to him quietly before replying, "Well you have to start somewhere and it's great that you have such a passion for it!" Her head nodded slightly to her words. "I'm Mapiya Aduladi, from the Earth Clan. Who are you?" She asked politely, he was rather nice and reminded her of her one brother who sticks to her around like glue. Kimaria He nodded. “I guess.” And then he tipped his head a little, nodding again thoughtfully. “Never met anyone from Earth Clan before.” He had relatives in Bird Clan, but he’d not actually been over to visit them yet. He hoped now that he was bigger, he’d be able to make the journey over to see them. “Oh.” He replied, never one for remembering his manners – much to his mother and father’s shame. “I’m Poa Subiani. Shadow Clan.” He sat, looking up into her face, into her pale, silvery eyes. He’d never seen eyes that colour before. His father and some of his siblings had very pale blue eyes, but nothing like that. “Do you have spirits in your eyes?” He asked. A stupid question to some, but a serious one to him. Kireiryuu "It's nice to meet you, Poa! May I call you that?" Sometimes saying first and last names can be a bit long, "I don't mind if you call me Mapiya or Piya." She nodded. Shadow Clan, that was new to her! She was just learning about all the clans earlier and now she got to meet someone. His question was not new as she smiled, "I am blind, if that's what you mean. I sometimes have visions when I get lost in thought or when I sleep though."

Kimaria “I guess.” He replied. His family called him Poa, but he wasn’t sure about non-family members. Ah well, he supposed it wasn’t all that important. “Hm…I’ll call you Mapiya, if it’s all the same.” And then he blinked, surprised again at her declaration. She was blind? And…she was out here all alone? That…probably wasn’t good. Then again, if she was anything like Howi, she probably did like to be off by herself at times. “Well…it wasn’t really what I mean, but I guess that’s okay.” He paused. “My brother is blind, too.” He wasn’t sure why he said it. Maybe so that she wouldn’t feel so…different? He shrugged, pulling an awkward face. “Visions? You mean dreams, right?” He wondered what her dreams must be like for someone who had never…seen. Weird…most likely. “Dreams are like seeing things.” He agreed after a moment of thought. “But…not always.” Kireiryuu She blinked, "Oh really?" She had never heard of anyone else being blind but then again, it wouldn't have surprised her. His question, she smiled softly, "Kind of....sometimes they're images of things that have happened in the past with my parents, and sometimes they are of the future, of things that haven't happened yet." It was hard to explain what it was, the word "seer" hadn't been brought to her vocabulary yet. Her tail flicked slightly to the side, "It's cool being able to see things in dreams, since it gives me a chance to be like everyone else." And then she asked sheepishly, "What color is your feather?" Kimaria “Uh huh.” He replied, not sure what else to say. He didn’t really understand why Howi had been born blind and he and his other siblings had not. He was cloud-marked, too. A white pelt had always been considered a blessing amongst the Ela’wadiyians. He didn’t understand it, not at all. He tilted his head. “Really? I haven’t heard of dreams doing things like that. My dreams don’t, anyway.” He wrinkled his snout. It almost sounded like something from one of his father’s stories. He’d make sure to ask him about it later. He nodded. “Besides. There’s a lot more to the world than just how it looks. Like, with my first hunting lesson, we learned about the importance of using our nose to find prey.” He shoved the grass aside and flopped down on the ground. “Uh, my feather? Um…it’s sort of brown, I guess. But lots of different kinds. Goes with my fur quite well. I got brown fur, too, like my Father has.” Kireiryuu As he described his feather and then his fur, she put it into memory that she'd remember. At least this way, she could know who he was in case she met another Poa in the pride. Her eyes widen slightly in surprise, "Oh! Are you learning how to hunt too? That's really cool! My parents said the'd teach us to hunt once we were a little older. But even then, I don't know if they'd teach me how to, since I can't see..." Her voice trailed off quietly. Her dad tended to be a little too overprotective of her sometimes.

Kimaria He grinned, seeming quite happy to talk about the grown-up skills he had been learning. “We just had our first lesson. We went to watch Mother and some of our older siblings hunt. And, my sister explained to us why they were doing what they were doing. Something about being able to smell them but making sure they couldn’t smell you, else they’d run away before you got too close!” His smile fell a little though and he shook his head. “No. You should learn. You can still hear and smell them smelly old beasts. I reckon you could hunt as well as the rest of them can. Maybe better.” He nodded and reached out to push a paw against her shoulder. “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something just because you’re blind, Mapiya.” It upset and angered Poa to think of others looking down at his own brother because of his disability and he certainly wouldn’t let it happen to others in similar circumstances. Kireiryuu Her ears perked forward curiously as she listened to Poa intently. She made sure to remember everything he was saying, since it was like a mini-lesson to her! "I want to! Even if I can't see them, I can help hear and sniff them out like you say. My nose is the best out of my siblings, I think." Not that she wanted to brag or gloat, it was just a mere statement on her part. She turned her face towards the direction of where his paw was, in the hopes that it was his face area. "I try not to! I try to do everything that my siblings do, though I don't want to be a nuissance to my parents." Kimaria He smiled and decided - since she couldn't see it - to tell her. "My siblings call me grumpy. Probably cos I am. But I'm smiling now to hear that." And he sat, blowing the stray grass stems out of his face as he did so. "And even if you are a nuisance." He added. "They'll always love you, no matter what. I know I'm a nuisance but they love me all the same." He grinned again. Family was always there for you, no matter what.
