 It was one of those days. The kind were anything bad did and could happen. Leigh had arrived at the University just as it was closing for the day, she needed to get her classes choosen before they all filled up. If missing registeration wasn't enough, the sky to open up and pour, huge rain drops that came down more rapidly by the minute.
" Man," Leigh whined a little from outside the registeration office. " Great, just great! The one time I don't bring my umbrella.." She let out a frustrated growl. Leigh took a deep breath to calm herself. " There is also time to sign up tomorrow I guess."

After awhile, it was obvious the rain wasn't going to let up so she began to look left and right down the street for a place to stay to ride out this current rain shower. Her car was currently being fixed for repairs, engine problems or so the mechanic had told her. She spotted a white building out of the corner of her eye. At first she almost dismissed the place as it didn't look like a shop, more like a well-kept home. If it hadn't have been for the 'Welcome to the Teashop' sign out front she would never had known. Leigh peered closer and saw an open sign in the window.
Leigh nodded in satisfaction, that decided it. She began to make a makeshift hood with the green scarf around her neck and with a squeal she dashed towards the teashop.

By the time she had reached the shop Leigh was sopping wet. Her scarf-hood could only block out so much. She shivered lightly as the air conditioning hit her soaked clothed body. She looked around the shop curiously and listened to the soft lovely japanese instrumental music playing on the speakers. Though the outside may be plain, the inside was really interesting. Many nic-nac's adnore the shelves and scrolls covered the walls hardly leaving anything bare. Tea pots, cups, ground tea leaves of many flavours, and fortune cookies were all around. "H-hello? I hope you are open, I saw the sign and thought a nice tea would be warming after running in the rain. "

Leigh spotted an oriental statue that looked really cute and walked over to it. She was so into inspecting said piece she didn't realize two young boys had come up behind her until one of them greeted her and ask her to follow them to a table. Leigh like out a squeak of surprise and turned to return the greeting. They really were adorable, the rain must have chased people away because with them as hosts, I am sure this place would be packed. They introduced themselves as Xun and Yu as we made our away to the table.
Once I was settled they handed me a menu and inquired about which tea I would like to drink. After a few moments I chose the orange tea, as it had always been my favourite. Now that my order was in, they walked away towards the kitchen to make my order. " Something warm to drink sounds so lovely right now." Leigh whispered to herself in contentment.

Leigh hummed to herself and began to pull out papers from the university that she had left in her purse, which thankfully wasn't as wet as the rest of her. Looking over her tentive schedule for fall, she maybe a few marks here and there with a small pen. She was interrupted by a clearing of the throat and a beaming smile that was followed closely by a 'enjoy your tea'.
Leigh thanked him and accepted the tea as he again walked away. Bringing the tea cup close to her nose, she took a deep breath in. The fragency was lovely, a nice spicey blend of warmth that heated the body. Looking out the window Leigh sipped her tea in peace. The soft sound of shoes hitting the ground woke her from her semi-sleepy state.

Aspecting either Xun and Yu to come back for refills, Leigh was surprised that a woman came up to her with a... She blinked and thought to herself, ' Is that a dog on her shoulder?'
She bowed and introduced herself as the teashop owner. 'Qian En, what a pretty name.' She looked at me for a minute a calculating stare and then raised her right hand. Something I had not noticed lay nestled in her palm, a cookie. She insisted I take the small fortune cookie and keep it safe. That if I took care of it something wonderful will sure to spring up upon me. Leigh considering returning it back to her and asking about her mental status. I mean take care of a cookie? Qian En seemed to have read into my expression or internal debate, so she made the decision for me and placed the cookie into my hand.
With a final bow Qian En made her way past the kitchen into the back room and left me looking at the delicious looking morsal.

After inspecting the cookie, she noticed a little note was inside. Gently pulling it out she read the inscription.
 "To catch a wild butter roll, use lots of parsley and cinnamon."
"How silly and yet so cute," Leigh said aloud with a smile on her face and walked out the door with a promise to return again.At that moment, Leigh didn't realize her pet free life was about to change. For inside that cookie was something that would give her that canine companionship and love she had been wanting for so long.

It had been at least a week since Leigh had gotten the cookie from the teashop and I few times she questioned herself about why she still held onto it or why she hadn't eaten it. Coming out of her internal ponderings she looked outside her bedroom window to look out into the rainy backyard. " Just like the first time I got you." She said aloud looking at the cookie she held in her right hand. After a few minutes of staring she shrugged and pulled out the fortune paper again.
" How weird," Leigh whispered, her brows furrowed in puzzlement. " The words seemed to have disappeared. "

Leigh's stomach growled knocking her out of her thoughts. She let out a sigh and pushed herself off her bed. " Kitchen. Kitchen," She sang softly and opened the fridge. " Well, dang. I was supposed to go grocery shopping today, knew I forgot something! Hmm least I still have this cookie, it can tie me over until it stops raining."
That being said, she took the two ends and pulled them apart. Suddenly a loud popping noise happened startling Leigh so bad she jumped and fell down on her butt.
