I stopped playing for a while(Like, five mounths actually) and just restarted. At the moment, i'm on the Gigginox mission sence I can't kill the Rathian(This is offline by the way) and I need to know what Armor and Lance/Switch Axe is best.
By the way, if any of those weapon/armor involve Baggi stuff then can you guys also tell me how to get Great Baggi Crests. I tried everything from knocking to killing but I can't get any.

for one thing, baggi crests come from breaking the black CREST (hint hint) on it's head. also, for the gigginox the best armor/lance i suppose would be whatever you'v got at the time. i would suggest a few things but it is likely that you don't have them, considering you haven't beaten the rathian. fire is it's weakness, so bombs can help. none of it's attacks are elemental, so just bring antidotes, unless you can find armor that helps against poison aside from the gigginox' armor itself. first tim i killed th gigginox was with a measly knight lance and alloy set. (i was too lazy to make a full set out of something worthwhile at the time... i go fo looks more than defense/skills)

i'm having trouble too, right now i'm trying to get the barroth armor, which should be effective. as for lance, try for the "blue crater", it's a pain to get the ore, and jumbo pearl, but it's worth it. as for the rathian... IT'S A RATHIAN! just read it's moves, and you should be ok. the only reason the gigginox beat me, is because he kept jumping to the ceiling, and i ran out of time. also, make sure you have max mega potions, they help a lot. finally, try using traps, the argosy capt. will trade them to you.

I'm not entirely sure if you're asking for help with Gigginox or Rathian. For the Gigginox, Graftesarcane pretty much said it all. Disregarding all resistances (since you don't need it vs Gigginox), your very best armor set, which is left to your interpretation. And since I know nothing useful about the axe (aside from the overhead slash being incredibly strong) and that a fire lance is probably unavailable for you, I would say to grab either the paralysis or sleep lance. If I recall correctly, those should be available, and would be incredibly helpful, especially the sleep lance if you plan on bombing at all.
With Rathian, I would suggest hammering it, but that's me. In terms of weaponry, you probably don't have a lightning or dragon lance, so once again I suggest the status lances. Since Rathian seems to be a bit of trouble right now, bombing is still a great idea. With armor, I would suggest the Quropeco armor. Not only is it somewhat resistant to fire, but the skills are a great help. Recovery Up and Evasion+1? Please do. If you want, you could try to upgrade that Defense Up (S) to a Defense Up (M).
As for the crests, they really do come from breaking the crest. Just break it, beat the quest, and, well...60% chance to get the crest, assuming you broke it.
