Only when she was fourteen and her boyfriend was attacked and turned Strigoi did she realize her mother was keeping something big from her and demand the truth from her mother. Every day since then, she has refused to talk to her mother. She ran away at around fifteen, and some people from the academy took her in, telling her she could avenge the death of Isaac, her boyfriend.

At the age of ten she was kicked out of the house. A year later she encountered Evan, who had been turned strigoi and she ran. She know that he is still out there somewhere, in the darkness, and that Willow was a very patient Strigoi. Roselin just can't figure out why Willow was taking care of her for ten years.
