Who: Anastacia, Dou, Vivi, and Zeke When: Early afternoon, Saturday Where: Vermillion Bakery Weather: Sunny and warm with low humidity
There hadn't been a call that day that Zeke had not looked forward to more. While the few calls he did have were related to the Lab itself (orders of chemicals, beakers and, oddly enough, the newspaper subscription) the most recent one he had received was more his department. And not only that, the voice over the phone that had spoken happily to him in that French dialect belonged to a person he had been wanting to see again, and not only because of his Raevan's birth. She was a member of the Lab family after all and he had to give his compliments on that cake in person! The spoken addition he would be picking up not one but two filled bottles was rather exciting as well, and as soon as he was able to get two metal cases and his Frei out the door, they were on their way.
Anastacia was not against leaving the Lab, not one bit and even if she was still bitter at her guardian for the juice incident (which had not faded from her forearm by the way, even if weeks HAD passed). Even though Zeke had interrupted her knitting practice she knew she could pick it up in the car and was quite ready to leave the AC chilled and sterile scented place they came to weekend after weekend. Seemed the hotter the days went, the lower the temperature inside went and for the two month old Raevan she was fast learning she was rather temperature sensitive. Heat fed her and made her lively enough for a rather aloof creature, but cold slowed her down. Made her feel like she was overtired and sinking slowly but surely into sleep. Zeke wasn't really aware of this because she didn't float around too much after discovering her hobby, but Anastacia was well learned about it by now, and she jumped at the chance to get out of here and go elsewhere long before Zeke was scheduled to leave and take her home.
"You can bring your knitting bag with you while we're there," Zeke said as he drove them toward their destination and peered in the rear-view mirror at the Frei's spidery reflection, "it shouldn't take too long, but it's work related and I can understand if you'd get bored by that stuff." She was young still after all. Anastacia only flicked her eyes up toward the orange-browns that were looking at her via the mirror as a sign that she understood, and even without the spoken okay she would have brought her bag in anyway. Unlike the stuff Zeke did day by day at either of his jobs, this knitting thing was interesting and she was easily picking up the basics Nancy had taught her. The weaving of strands of yarn into something connected and usable felt right to her.
"A friend of mine's gonna be there, as well as a friend of hers, so be polite okay?" He'd introduce them as that seemed to be the one of the only ways to get the Frei to talk without agitation, and he remembered what Vivi said about wanting to meet the being born of a virus and a spider. Even though she was stoic and it was still hard to get her to talk, she was getting to be rather...formal...in her diction. Sure she didn't say much but as long as she wasn't pressured into it her words seemed to be to the point and spoken smoothly. Rather good for a two month old really.
"Mmhm." Was the reply to the question, already absorbed right back where she had left off in her work of blue and white yarn. Questions, she'd also seemed to have taken to replying to those. Made Zeke talking to her awkward, and she wouldn't always answer on the first go around yet, but it was better than nothing to him! Outside the Aston Martin the city of Gambino passed by, streets were turned down, lights were stopped at, but soon the car pulled into a small parking lot and the beeping of the open door alarm drew the Frei from her task. She looked up to see her guardian beaming over his shoulder, making a 'come on' gesture with one hand, though he would be opening the door for her regardless.
"I think you might like the inside of this place, Anya. It's not as bland as the Lab and it's got color." He was almost way too happy when he emphasized that. Once Anya was let out like a movie star with a chauffeur, they made their way to the door of the building; Zeke leading the way and the Frei floating near his side though behind. One of the two cases he held in each hand was placed on the stoop of the business and the handle of the door grasped, then pulled open. He knew the drill. "Ladies first."

And there was color indeed to welcome Zeke and Anastacia; color that blossomed happily from all corners of Vermillion's displays. Refreshing yellow popped from tarts lined within the glass cases, tempered by the soothing, friendly sky-blues of frosted cupcakes. Chilled whipped cream stood at attention atop little eclairs, and fat blueberry cakes sat cheerily beside them, waiting for their turns to be consumed.
The wood-and-metal birds that hung from Vermillion's ceiling waved gently in welcome as the two entered, and from behind the counter, Vivi looked up from where she had been handling a rather large jug of iced minty lemonade. Two cups sat in waiting side-by-side on the counter, no doubt for the woman herself and her pretty redheaded companion that sat nearby. However, as the pair entered, it became clear that the lemonade would never make it to its intended destination. As Vivi recognized Zeke -- and who his lovely companion must be -- her face blossomed into a wide smile. She immediately forgot all about her pitcher, setting it down hurriedly and dashing out from behind the counter.
"Mon petit chou!" she called happily to the man in her low, accented voice, holding out her arms for a hug. "What a distinct pleasure it is to see you again, mon ami. And, enfin, is it the Flu herself that I see? Such a beauty, it must be her! Hello, and welcome, of course!"

Doucette was nervous, her naturally wide blues stretched a bit to the point of absurdity and she was getting into the habit of jumping ever so slightly when the tinkling bell notified her that someone was entering the shop. The red head simply kept replaying the upsetting events that had transpired the last time she met one of the Lab folks and she was mentally praying to every god she could name in her head that she wasn't going to be making an a** of herself on her a** again.
When Vivi suggested lemonade the Irish woman discovered her throat had gone dry with the nerves and she'd managed a sort of coughed and pathetic agreement to the drink, looking forward to something finally.
But alas, the drink was not to be, and Doe looked over the counter at the undrained pitcher and wondered how terribly rude it would be of her to simply reach over and take care of it herself. She could even pour a glass for the man and the floating Raevan while she was at it...
No, this wasn't her place. It wasn't her job to poke her nose where it didn't belong. Instead she offered a meek wave from her seat and let Vivi do all the talking while she watched. And watch she did, for the two were a strange and interesting pair.

Even though he had been all too happy to say it, Anastacia found that her guardian was once again correct. From the moment she floated past the man and entered the premises she was overtaken by color that the Lab's lobby severely lacked. If the outside during a sunny day like today was vibrant, the bakery's interior was more so, and it was only a matter of moments before the virus Frei's head was swiveling left and right, taking in the color that - even when blurred in the far areas - was still visible to her eyes. The chimes over the door rattled again as her guardian followed in after, but the only thing that caused the Raevan to react was when one piece of that color suddenly moved and came hurtling toward her direction. She moved out of the way with no sound moving past her lips, but the array of spiny legs atop her head creaked into an outward position, bringing light to her sudden upheaval.
"Vivi!" Zeke cried happily and he almost didn't have enough time to drop both of his cases before the woman was on him. "It's great to see you too!" He wrapped his own arms around her and gave the Frenchwoman a firm but friendly hug, grinning from ear to ear as he did so. After a moment or three he let his friend go, looking from her to his slightly ruffled charge with his grin turning from excited to proud and pleased. Though when Vivi called his charge 'the Flu' he almost wanted to spout off a line of pig Latin about that, but the realization his Raevan wouldn't know such a word from another virus' given name seemed to make him relent just a bit. He could mutter it to her later anyway, time for those introductions that seemed to work so well to get his otherwise aloof ward to speak. "Vivi this is Anastacia, and Anastacia this is Vivi." His hand did the sweep between the two females, beaming with pride once again.
"He'lo." Despite the upheaval and sudden rush that wasn't exactly at her now that she saw the proceedings, the compliment Vivi had bestowed upon Anastacia worked wonders in time with the introduction. It helped soften the startling as the Frei's crown and wings relaxed and had her - for now - declare the Frenchwoman neither a threat nor someone to immediately mark off as repugnant. 'The Flu', though, threw her off. She had never heard such a word but with her ego stroked and the jibberish the woman was spouting with her English, she only took it for more of a compliment and that kept her complacent and not questioning.
"Oh hi!" While he was watching his Raevan's reaction to the female human he had happily hugged, Zeke's head had done that customary swivel to take in the familiar surroundings. During his sweep they rested on Doucette and the veterinarian gave her a hearty wave as well as a cheery grin. It didn't take him long to figure this was the other bottle owner who Vivi had mentioned and he was quite excited to see what she had in store. Sure, he had written down their Essence names on the forms now tucked in each case, but in his excitement to see the Frenchwoman he hadn't really looked at them. He was curious to see what the red headed woman had in her possession as well as what the both of them had each caught in regards to the soul. Biased, since he knew her, he was looking forward to see what Vivi had captured, especially after her reaction to what exactly happened when a soul was caught the last time they had met. He gave Vivi a pat on the upper back, smiling at the three women now in the room together. One introduction down, one to go, and two bottles to collect! What a day so far!
"So how have you been Vivi? And how are you miss?" He made sure to include Dou as well.

"Anastacia," repeated Vivi with a pleased exhalation, her bright eyes looking with shameless admiration at the Frei. The Frenchwoman brought a hand up to her cheek as though to quell an invisible blush. Such... such inborn style Raevans seemed to have. Such innate beauty and grace. She had seen it now a few times, but her awe at beholding them had not diminished. No, she was still just as impressed by that fine lilac hair, those heavy-lashed eyes, that living crown... "Such a regal name you have, mademoiselle. It is quite a pleasure to meet you."
Inside, Vivi all but burst with questions -- how old was Anastacia? When had she come about, and how had raising her gone so far for Zeke? (And why had Zeke seemingly balked for that split-second as she had spoken?) But there would be time later for these things. For the moment, she needed to return to the business at hand.
"I have been most well, mon ami. Better now, of course, that you have come. So much there is to tell you! Ah, but forgive me, in all my swooning I am remiss in introductions!" the Frenchwoman continued, sweeping fluidly back toward Doucette. Now that the first fluttering happiness of seeing Zeke had passed -- Zeke, who to Vivi seemed to always be the bearer of good news -- the Frenchwoman was eager to see what the veterinarian would have to say about the pair's soul captures. "Allow me to make them now. This is the most charming Doucette, the guardian of the Liquid Aurora Borealis. Doucette, this is the irrepressibly charming Zeke, and his most lovely Frei, Anastacia."
She gestured at each party with her characteristic showmanship, smiling playfully as she did so.

Far from the social butterfly that Vivi was, Doucette found her cheeks burning and her fingers twiddling as she listened and watched the introductions go around, voicing a hello when it was appropriate and giving a smile to the wild looking man and his dangerous looking charge.
Thank god spiders didn't give her the willies, though she couldn't help but smile at what Dolce and Gabby would be doing at the sight of the spindly frei. Anastasia certainly personified all that was crawly, though she mostly didn't fit the creepy part. Certainly it was slightly unnerving, watching a very large part human, part spider drifting about, but that was part of the appeal of the raevans she supposed. Again she found herself considering how own raevan and the soul she'd captured.
Red curls bobbed as she nodded at the both of them, her freckles dark against the red glow of her previously pale cheeks. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Vivi has not stopped speaking of you all day. I have been looking forward to meet you." Only the slightest bit of her accent slipped through, not nearly as bubbly and sweet as the French woman's. Irish, she thought, was never a beautiful accent.

The Frei's chin tilted upward just that much more as the Frenchwoman spoke her name. The action wasn't very haughty but more a confirmation that the long name made most popular by a Russian princess (though not chosen for that reason) was in fact her own. The look on the human woman's face was quite pleasing and in fact, she could say to herself, unlike most looks she received on the streets the one she was being given now had some huge differences though all positive nonetheless. She gave a faint nod as Vivi spoke of her pleasure to meet the Frei and as soon as the attention turned back to Zeke and the work he had to do, she went back to letting her own eyes roam about the premises. It was quite agreeable to her.
"I'm glad to hear that Vivi," the man said as he watched his charge float from his side to the tables along the wall; her bag with needles, yarn, and a work in progress swinging from her stained left arm. Zeke gave his mohawked head a shake as the Frenchwoman apologized, his own manner to say there was no need to do such to him. As introductions were made he strode forward, taking up the cases and placing them down when he was before the counter, reaching his right hand out for Doucette to take, eyes alight with interest as Doucette's Essence was brought to light. How pretty it must be! "Pleasure to meet you too Doucette." His words were spoken on a barely contained chuckle, the words 'irrepressibly charming' tickling a funny bone in him.
Anastacia heard her name again and immediately responded to it, turning from her inspection of the spindly metal chairs - so unlike the wooden ones in the kitchen at home! - toward the counter at the back of the store. The distance was enough that she had to squint her lavender pair of eyes at Doucette, only just making out some of the features on the Irishwoman's face. The red hair was prominent enough to see without squinting, even if the interior of the bakery was wall to wall in a deeper shade. Another introduction was given, and by the woman this time that was strange, but the Frei didn't seem to want to speak up this time. She gave Doucette a polite nod but kept to herself, moving from the chairs to the wall just near by, scanning and touching over the items hanging there. Definitely more interesting than the lobby. Maybe she wouldn't need to consult her hobby just yet, if at all, during the trip.
"Careful with what you touch Anya," Zeke gave a mild warning as his charge seemed interested in a photograph hanging on the wall but knew she would be anyway. Even for a Raevan that looked like she could take and give back quite a bit in the physical actions department, her touches to things she was observing were rather light. Delicate could be the right word, and he thought of how she held her mirror with protection but care during their first meeting. She probably would have touched Dust Bunny the same way had they gotten off to the right foot instead of the folly that had happened and caused the two to become rather tense if they were in the same room together - supervised or not. With the warning spoken and faith in his charge's exploration in tact, the man clapped his hands together, rubbing them once before gesturing to the cases on both sides of his feet. "So! Shall we get down to business?"

"Absolutely, let us," said Vivi with a nod, gesturing for Zeke to take the seat across from Doucette. She herself did not sit yet, however, and instead moved back to her place behind the counter, swooping down to collect another glass to add to the two she had left there waiting. The cool pitcher of minted lemonade, with its soft, transparent colors and shifting ice cubes, still looked refreshingly inviting.
Her hand hovered over a fourth glass, uncertain. Raevans didn't drink, right? And yet, she couldn't help but wish she had something else to offer that calm majestic Frei now studying her bakery's walls. Vivi, hospitable by nature and unaccustomed to being without options, scanned her mind for clues as to what she refreshments she could give the Frei -- and came up short.
"I shall get for us some refreshments and fetch my vial. Please, do not hesitate to begin, Doe, yes? The Zeke, he is not the grump as Shepard is."

Frequently Doucette found herself overly-greatful for her bushy head of friz and curls. At Vivi's mention of Shepard being a grump (which Doe didn't view him as at all, most especially after the day at the zoo with the Aussie) the Irish woman could feel her ears begin to burn and she was glad the blush was not only hidden, but apparently refraining from spreading to her cheeks.
Doe pressed her fingers upon her cheeks, looking down for a moment as Zeke took his seat and Vivi set off. She seemed to be mouthing something for a moment before she snapped out of it and fetched her bag with a bit too much enthusiasm, causing it to bump against the counter. A dull thud could be heard, clearly from something glass, and the woman paled at the thought of her bottle managing to shatter when she was so very close to getting rid of it.
Not that she wanted to get rid of it mind you, but ever since the soul had taken residence within the orb things had been a little strange about the house and she was keen to have at least some sort of break from the possible-moonstones. Dolce and Gabbana acted weird about it, where before they would frequently play with the empty bottle and essence. Doucette also found that when she was with the bottle too long she began to feel...empty. Not botomless or depressed empty, simply, blank.
This was one of the main reasons that Doucette believed her soul to indeed be moonstones instead of the jellyfish. Stones were, afterall, empty in a sense.
"Here you are then," Doucette said brightly, pulling out the essence vial with is swirling pastels in the dark liquid followed by the soul bottle orb, now filled with a smoke-gray mist threaded with pale blues and golds that remained deep within most of the time. "Is there anything else I need to do?" The woman looked worried. After all, she'd so far made a fantastic fool of herself after the pick-up that she was worried there'd be something further she'd foul up as well.
As she pushed the items onto the counter and in Zeke's general direction without actually forcing he items upon him, she couldn't help but to watch Anya, a million curiosities popping into her head but not from her mouth.

Zeke beamed at Vivi as the woman took charge and took the seat offered once both cases were taken from the floor and raised up onto the counter. He smiled as the Frenchwoman and nodded to her plans. A drink sounded great right about now because he wasn't as heat-loving as his charge. The short walk from the car to the door had been sticky, even if the humidity was low. He could wait for that though, and instead Zeke's attention turned to Doucette. The woman's behavior struck him as silly, but he only gave her a polite smile which faded into a look of shock as that dull thud resounded. Had either of the two broken?
"Just a moment." Thankfully, neither had. Zeke put up a finger in a 'please wait' gesture and turned to his cases. Both had to be opened because he wasn't sure which held which set of forms, but it turned out to be the second of the two. He pulled the papers free and put them off to the side for now, taking the soul bottle first. While his own had been a mass of red and black this one was a single solid color. The detailing on the cloth left no hints or clues as to what soul this could be and he could only begin to guess. Still, he'd know soon enough, and thus the soul bottle was placed in its proper spot. The Fel vial, however, was looked at for a longer time when he picked it up. "Wow!"
This little gasp of breath drew Anya's eye. Despite appearing mostly apathetic she did have her curious streak and when that word was said she already knew something had to be seen. The picture she had been touching over was abandoned and with no other sound than a faint click of her knitting needles from inside her bag the Frei floated over and peered over her guardian's shoulder. The colors within the vial immediately drew her in. They shifted appealingly within that mass of blue-black night that was held carefully by her guardian's fingers and she felt that inward want to snatch it up for herself. Zeke seemed spellbound by the Essence as well and while the man was thinking about what sort of Raevan would be born from this and that which was already put away, Anastacia dropped a hand over his shoulder to take it up from him.
"Ah! Anya!" Zeke jerked suddenly as her hand came in out of the corner of his eye. In response his hands closed over the vial to protect it, but it also caused the Frei to be rebuffed from the vial as well as her own doing to avoid the man's shoulder from hitting her in the chest. Immediately her wings flared out as though offended; chitin creaking and webbed lining glinting in the sunlight though she still floated backward. Her guardian turned to her.
"Want." She had a slight frown on her face, arms crossed and bag swinging awkwardly from there. She was nearby, he should have known it was her! Who else would it be? The chipper one had gone away and the red-head was before him. What's more, he had closed off that colorful thing from her, and he had been the one to cause her to go over there in the first place too.
It didn't take long for Zeke to know what she wanted, but the fact she had used 'want' as her word choice worried him. The mirror had been something she had taken from the Lab - even though Alex had no use for it and had let her have it - and she had to learn she couldn't keep every little thing that caught her eye. Maybe he had been a bit lenient on the trip to the craft store...No matter. He'd do it right this time.
"Would you like to see the Essence, Anya?" That look remained the same and not even her wings shifted from their position. Zeke bit his lip, but he had an idea. "You have to ask Doucette if you can see it. It belongs to her." He made sure to emphasize the last part - it was Dou's, not hers - so she couldn't claim it as such, and he turned back to the woman as well to give her a light but apologetic grin. His back got a reproachful pout of a look. It was like those games at home and that time at the store. She hated this, he was trying to get her to talk when she didn't feel the need or want to. He knew what she wanted, he could just hand it over! He didn't have to ask Doucette for it, so why should she?
Anastacia bristled at her guardian, and her pout was still apparent as she looked at the red haired woman. She gave her a look, her form of direction, and waited. From the chair, Zeke gave Dou a little shake of his head - barely there - asking her silently to wait for the Frei to verbally ask before giving permission. She needed to learn.

In the background of these proceedings, Vivi watched with a healthy interest, curious to see the Raevan's naiveté and Zeke's parenting. She hardly looked down to the little blueberry tart she was swiftly and cleanly slicing through, instead totally absorbed by the actions before her. And still her hands worked as though they had eyes of their own, easily guiding the knife as they did so many times per day.
So this was what Lillian and Ty had explained to her! Anya, though regal in bearing and mature in expression, was yet a child underneath -- and a young one, at that. How deceptive were one's eyes, mused Vivi to herself, especially where Raevans were concerned.
As she thought these things to herself, she slowly filled three -- no, four, the Raevan could at least cool her hands on her own glass if she were warm -- glasses of minted lemonade. She arranged the glasses and the sliced little tart on a tray, loaded a few plates and forks, and hefted the lot up on one of her hands. With the other hand, she retrieved her own glowing bottle and vial from their appointed area behind the counter and tucked them into her wide apron pocket. Zeke seemed anxious that his Raevan might make some response to Doucette, so Vivi did not speak as she approached the table with goods in tow; instead, she merely directed an encouraging smile toward all of the table's patrons.

Doucette had the decency to look chagrined as the thud echoed in the room and the look on Zeke's face made her cheeks a brilliant red which would have been inspirational for Picasso's Rose Period. She almost felt like she was choking the way her body froze on her until the other's return to relaxation prompted her to remember that oxygen was important to her everyday needs. His exclamation of the essence vial had her grinning with a bit of pride, though she felt a small, nagging worry about the disinterest in the silver smoke of her soul bottle.
It certainly looked only one color, boring and bland, and though it was difficult to hold onto it for very long without feeling...wrong, if one looked for long enough they could spot the flecks of gold and blue that winked from the depths.
The woman had been just about to open her mouth with some comment or other when the startling revelation that Anya had sneaked up upon the pair caused her to bite her tongue instead she managed only a whimpered sort of groan in recognition of the frei's sudden appearance.
Not that Doucette was exactly suave and put together in front of Vivi and Shepard, but at least she didn't seem to make a great a** of herself in the same manner as she did around those working for the Lab. Again the worry that they would report back to the doctor and tell him that she was unworthy flickered across her mind, and she frowned deeper.
Thankfully she was distracted by the conversation between the guardian and his charge, along with Vivi's approach with drinks. In her usual giving and friendly nature, Doe had been very ready to tell Anya that of course she could look at the essence all she wanted. Perhaps the tone had meant something to Zeke, but the Irish woman simply didn't read into things in the same manner.
Zeke's little shake of her head though had her wide blue eyes darting between Anya and Zeke like a child caught between arguing parents. Between Anya's cold, demanding gaze and Zeke's pleading one, she wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do. Never one to be the master of emotions, it was very clear that she was working herself into a mini panic attack over the decision, fingers pressed once more to her cheeks as if it would keep her from bursting into tears.

That hard, intelligent stare remained placed on Doucette's face. It didn't waver or even flicker as the redheaded woman's own facial features started to work towards distress. Anastacia wanted to see what Zeke had. Zeke said she had to direct her desire at this woman. This woman was working herself toward tears if her watery-looking eyes were any indication and for some reason that the Spider didn't understand, but she had a feeling if she kept this up, the frightened little woman before her would let her see what she wanted to see and Anastacia wouldn't have to speak at all for it. Perfect.
Her guardian, however, saw what was happening with Dou and like the Frei he wasn't certain of just why she was looking like she was going to start bawling, but unlike the spindly femme he had his own assumptions. As Vivi came over he gave her an appreciative return of a smile before turning his attention back to Dou and her nearly-panicked expression. He looked concerned and then his eyes flicked over his shoulder and through his hair to Anastacia, who still wasn't giving up the words just yet. Her wings were still spread wide - as was her crown - from that bump she almost had and he was certain her display was what was causing the trepidation. That, or the woman sitting across from him was an arachnophobe on some level. He knew he couldn't expect a full "May I see the bottle, please?" from Anastacia just yet (or on any given day really), and with Doucette looking like she was going to start crying at any second with a very little push, he decided to make a leeway, just this once.
"Anya," Zeke said quietly in a soothing voice, more for Dou than the Frei but his eyes were on the latter, "how about you just say 'please' to Doucette?" One word was all it would take and one word replies were something she preferred. He kept his head turned toward his Raevan but kept glancing back to the woman, hoping she wouldn't cry. "I'm sure that'll work for now."
Inwardly she scowled at the man sitting near her side, but she couldn't deny he sounded confident when he spoke to her. Still though, the woman in front of Zeke looked like she could wither away with just another few moments of Anastacia's six-eyed gaze and she perhaps wouldn't have to speak at all. Then again, if she started to bawl like an infant, that might delay her getting to see the vial as the other two humans would try to comfort Dou and earn her a lecture from the vet on the way back to Lab. She could tune him out - and tended to do so when he rambled anyway - but she greatly disliked being talked down to as though she was in the wrong; and she definitely wasn't here in her opinion. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Zeke's hand close all the more over the thing she wanted to see and she felt a tug from her curiosity. Fine. The easy way.
"...Please." Anastacia gave her wings a flap before lowering them on their hydraulics. Her crown came down as well and settled in its standard position though the shorter pedipalps in the front twitched with agitation. The Frei's tone was still flat and emotionless and it was clear she wasn't asking, but she said the word all the same. There, was Zeke happy? She spoke, she was civil as any respectable woman was, now hand over the bottle.

Sliding her tray of goodies onto the table, Vivi quietly drew up a chair and seated herself in the unoccupied space between Doucette and Zeke. She still smiled faintly as she did so, and she busied herself with setting the empty plates and filled glasses before her guests, lingering a moment as she placed them before Doe. Hopefully, a bit of extra movement might break some of the tension the redhead seemed to be feeling...?

Oh heaven forbid, the Irish woman wasn't so easy to cry in public!! Truly it was those damn blue eyes of hers that simply always looked moist and at the simplest sign of distress from her she looked as though they might spring a leak any moment. With all due respect though, she was made of slightly tougher stuff (note: slightly) and she was not going to break down in front of Zeke or his charge.
But she didn't like being put into such a situation either way. It was in her nature to allow people's happiness and not to care so much about the social repercussions involved. So what if she allowed Anya to look at the bottle without an ultra polite request attached? Granted, that didn't mean she didn't know where Zeke was coming from with his own request, and it was his charge that he needed to take care of. What she was not a fan of was that he felt the need to include her in his moment of manner-teaching. Could he have not simply made Anya discuss this with him? He, after all, now had her soul bottle and vial - it was hardly hers anymore until whatever the next step happened to be.
Thankfully Zeke seemed to catch the hint and take a more forward approach to Anya and thus take Doucette more out of the spotlight than she appreciated being. With Anya's begrudging little 'please' Doe's lips broke into a wide smile and those baby blues cleared up like the Mediterranean awash with a bright day. "Of course, of course," the redhead breathed, fluttering her hands in the direction of the two glass companions that Zeke had taken over.
Sigh, awkward crisis averted! "Thanks Vivi," Doucette said as she broke away from the two and turned her attention to the French woman and her very welcomed glass of lemonade.
