Deimos was walking along a new street, his notebook out as he took down needed information about what the area was like. Just as before, despite the fact that he'd grown, the teen was still interested in his map and getting it filled out.
Draped across the blue haired teen's shoulders was Gigan, his giant alley cat who was seemingly dozing and purring. It was all an act though, he was keeping his ears open for any potential dangers around knowing that Deimos didn't deal with anything even remotely scary despite his size and age... just the other day a small frog had the teen shrieking and fleeing as though his life depended on it. It was up to the black cat to keep his friend safe, for the moment though he seemed to have things under control as they walked down new streets. It was the map making ritual that Deimos was working on, he was a bit obsessive with the idea but so long as he was having fun and getting out of the house the cat saw it as a good thing.
"This is a nice neighborhood, no scary houses at all." Deimos told his cat, giving him a smile. Some time ago he'd wandered into a neighborhood that wasn't to crowded with houses and had one in particular that he was certain was full of ghosts and monsters! On top of that one of the people he was with at the time insisted they go inside... he was so happy to see that there weren't any houses around that were like that in this place, it was a nice and calm area that had him smiling despite normally being afraid of everything.

The front lawn! Untraveled territory!
For much of his life, Vance had only glimpsed it from the driveway when leaving with his father places. But today, Vance had been let out of the house, and he found his way to the front through the means of crawling under a bush and a fence from the backyard, and out into the fenced in yard out front of the house. The fence wasn't too tall. It barely reached the toddler's chin. It seemed to be meant to keep a garden bordered.
Vance had been running and rolling about giggling, squealing and pretending something was chasing him. Vance had settled at one point, laying on his back and trying to look behind him by tilting his head back and holding himself up with his arms. He then saw something, and someone, he had never seen before. Nothing quite like them before.
The red eyed, green haired toddler blinked and stared with wide eyes. These people/things needed to be talked to! The toddler flipped himself backward with a grunt and giggle, then got up and ran to the fence. "Hiiii~!" He greeted, hanging onto the fence and tip toeing to get a better look at them. "Wassat?" He asked, pointing up at the large cat thing.

Deimos gave a squeak of surprise, taking a quick step to the side as he was startled by the sudden voice from the fence that he'd been walking by. His attention turned to the one that was hanging there before he gave the kid a smile, relaxing as there seemed to be no inherit danger present at the moment, "Hello." He said back before looking at Gigan, "This is Gigantes or just Gigan, hes my cat. Say 'Hello' Gigan."
The cat opened his one perfect golden eye to stare at Vance before giving a little 'meow' sound that was his greeting to the kid before his eye closed once more. He'd humored them both by greeting the kid so that was good he thought to himself.
The blue haired teen seemed quite pleased that Gigan had been so nice in his greeting of the boy, "Heh, that is the most friendly he's ever been before without being first bribed with a snack, he must like you." He told Vance.

Vance smiled widely when he was greeted, not paying much mind to the squeak and side step that had taken place earlier. Vance had been acknowledged, and that's what mattered. The boy looked over at the big cat he was introduced to, waving when the cat meowed at him. "Heh-llo Gee-gan!" He replied with a proud smile.
"Really?!" He asked in excitement, bouncing a bit. "I like Gigan too!" Vance tended to like just about everyone. It was even better when he got 'special treatment' so to speak. "I don't have a cat! I have a bear." He said to the teen matter of factly. The bear he spoke of was actually a teddy bear he had received from Tynne. "His name is Mr. Bear, and he talks to me with his brain!" He said with another bounce or two, still hanging onto the fence. "He used to talk, but then he stopped and only talks to me. He can't come out today cause he's asleep."
Vance stared up at the young man for a bit longer. He was nifty! Black skin and blue hair? Cooool. "You're tall! My daddy is tall too. Grown-Ups are always tall. How come?" He seemed to just bombard the teen with comments and questions, for goodness knows why.

This boy was very talkative wasn't he? It was much different then what he was used to since he was so often talking with Anon and Gera. One of them didn't talk at all and one of them talked only to minimal amounts, "A bear? Wow. I couldn't imagine having a bear as a pet." He said, thinking for a moment how completely scary it would be to have a bear as a pet. They were huge, had sharp teeth and claws, could probably eat Dei in one bite... he didn't like the idea of them at all so he was glad to hear that the bear that lived here was asleep at the moment.
"Ahh... that is a good question, I'm not sure." He said, "Though I am no where near as big as my Daddy Reu is, hes a giant of a man. Momma is pretty small though, about the same size as I am."

Vance nodded proudly, since apparently he was the only one who owned a bear since he took Tynne's. Maybe this was... the only bear in the world? Wow!
Oh, so Dei had a mom and a dad? Amazing! He only had a dad, and Tynne only seemed to have a mom, as far as he could tell. Bug only had Wei.. who was Wei anyway? A sister? Probably, yeah. Was there anyone else? Eh. He wasn't sure.
"Your daddy is a giant? Is he tall like houses?" He asked seriosuly. How amazing! If he was that tall, it must be hard to come home. Where did he sleep? Poor Daddy.

Deimos nodded, "Almost!" He said, reaching his hands up over his head as far as he could, "Hes even taller then I can reach up in the air!" He told the boy, quite impressed by how very tall Daddy Reu was, "Its funny because Daddy Reu is huge and strong and my Momma Jiang is about the same height that I am now, Daddy Reu carries Momma Jiang around everywhere when it comes to leaving the house."
He knew that the only person in the world that was a bigger scaredy cat then he was himself was his Momma Jiang. Due to his fear of things he was always carried around by Reu to be kept safely away from everything that presented danger to him.

Vance giggled and bounced in place. Were all daddy's supposed to be so tall? Maybe his own daddy would be that tall one day. The boy also giggled at the height difference between Dei's mother and father, finding that amusing mostly because Deimos seemed to find it amusing.
Vance tried climbing the fence a bit so he could be more eye level with Deimos. "How does people get so tall?" He asked as he climbed and fumbled up the fence. He managed to get high enough to hold himself up with hi arms hugging the top of the fence. The fence was hardly too high up the ground, but footing wasn't easy with the boy's pajamas hindering his climbing ability. He seemed to make it look harder than it really was just to look tough in front of the older boy.

Deimos shook his head, "I wish I knew, I would like to be much taller." He said with a little laugh, he was a little on the short side so he wished that he was taller like his Daddy Reu was. Deimos turned to look over at the boy as he seemed to get up higher on the fence and he tilted his head, stepping closer to him, "Are you alright?" He asked of Vance, not wanting to see that the boy fall down or get hurt.
As he got to the fence to check on Vance to make sure that he was alright Gigan jumped off of his shoulders to land on the edge of the fence near to the boy in the green pajamas. The cat mewled at him before glancing over at Deimos.

"I'm okay!" Vance said as he struggled. "I'm making myself taller!" It was fool proof! He just had to stand on the fence and he would be tall! Why did no one ever think of this before? He... he must be a GENIUS!
Vance turned his head suddenly as Gigan landed on the edge of the fence, staring at the cat like creature. "Oooh.. Gigi is good at this game." He said with awe. He wondered if he could stand on the fence like the big kitty could. He attempted to hoist himself up more, but the upper body strength of a toddler was next to none, and all he ended up doing was flailing his legs while leaning over the edge. He huffed and let himself drop down again. "Being tall is hard." He sighed, a little bt disappointed.

Deimos chuckled at that, making himself taller, huh? That was cute he thought watching him closely as he struggled to pull himself up further only to drop down again. He wondered for a moment if it were really safe for him to be climbing such a manner. All manner of things could go wrong after all, everything from falling and getting bruises, to breaking something, or splinters that could get infected! His mind went racing through other possibilities and he had to do his best to get his imagination in check since worrying to much was never good for him. In fact he was certain that the stress of it was going to end up killing him young if he weren't careful.
All the while that he was worrying to himself Gigan seemed to be puffing up in a pleased manner when Vance said that he was good in this game, the awed tone in his voice seemed to please the cat greatly. Like with most cats he was an egotistical thing and it took a lot to win him over, praise or treats were the best way to do just that. He set to purring as he settled down near to Vance, not close enough to be touched but close, and watched him and Deimos both.
"It does seem hard but I bet its useful at the same time, being able to reach things that are up high." Deimos said once he got his thoughts in order. He wouldn't mind being taller but for now when he wanted something up high he could cheat and trade out his legs for a ghost tail and float up to get what he needed.

"Yeah!" Vance agreed with an exaggerated nod. "Once I find out how to be tall, I can do lot's of stuff! Like go on the big kid rides, and go out by myself." He said with a dreamy look in his eye, wiggling his feet as he sat. Vance always seemed to admire those who were bigger and older than him, wishing to be just like them.
"Oh! And when I'm bigger, I could help daddy with his garage work! He says 'it's too dangerous for a little guy like me', so once I get big, I can help!" He wanted to work like his dad! Fix things and use tools. His toy tools were fun, but he wanted to help Donovan.
"Does your daddy fix stuff too?" Vance asked curiously, rolling onto his back and holding onto his feet.

"It is a lot of fun to be able to go out for walks though even now I am a little scared about going alone." He said with an embarrassed chuckled, "Gigan there goes with me everywhere I go. Hes my fluffy bodyguard."
Gigan seemed to puff up a bit, seeming to be quite pleased to have his hard work acknowledged. After all who else would chase off the things that scared Deimos? Well... likely that metal boy and the one in the hoodie and maybe Deimos's twin... but still he was the around Deimos the most and protected him the most! His tail swished behind him before he set to purring happily.
Deimos gave his cat a glance wondering what put him so suddenly in a good mood, likely daydreams about catching birds. He looked back over to Vance once more and nodded, "Yes, he cooks a lot as well since Momma isn't to good at it." Jiang was better at looking pretty though, he seemed quite delicate and their father took care of him as though he were made of glass, not wanting to risk his health or well being, "Daddy's seemed to be quite talented really, its quite amazing."

Hm. So if you have a bodyguard, then it's okay? "Then maybe I should get Mr. Bear to be my body guard!" Vance said with a look of realization. Because a teddy bear totally had the power to chase away bad guys. Vance pondered this for a moment with a "serious" look on his face, tapping his chin thoughtfully. But with Mr. Bear's voice-box not working and all, he wasn' sure if he would be any good at it. "Maybe not.." He tilted his head a bit.
Vance only then registered something Deimos ad said earlier, looking up at the older boy. "You get scared? But you a big kid!" He said in awe. Even big kids got scared? No way!
Vance smiled widely, hearing that most daddy's seemed to be talented at these things. "How come they know so much?" He asked Deimos, swaying side to side.

Deimos couldn't help but to chuckle, "I bet that a bear would make a very good bodyguard." He said with a smile, he could only imagine what that sight might look... a young boy walking down the street with a bear. Or since the bear was so big would he be riding it? Either way Deimos wouldn't get anywhere close since he knew bears were a very dangerous animal and the mere idea of getting near one was intimidating.
"Ahh... haha, well yes. I actually have a pretty long list of things I am scared of." He murmured, flushing a little though it was hard to see against his dark colored skin. That he was admitting such a thing to a little kid made him a little embarrassed but it wasn't as though it weren't the truth.
Deimos watched the way that the boy was swaying in concern, hoping that he was doing that on purpose and not because he was at risk of falling, "I don't know, maybe its a requirement for being a Dad that they have to be quite skillful, smart, and tall." He guessed, then thought about it. It was going to be quite a long time before Deimos were able to be a Dad that was for sure. He didn't quite think that he had reached any of the right requirements for that title yet.
