Personality: Masaki has an analytical mind and is very logical about things sometimes. He's very good at board games and loves solving riddles. Unlike lot of analytical people, he does show emotion, especially when he's enjoying himself.
He follows a logical thought process that finds the best answer for his problem, not necessarily the easiest. He throws logic away, however, if he's emotionally invested in someone or something. Because of this, he's very careful about making friends and emotional connections, because that leads to a weakness that can be exploited. But if he has to see you on a regular basis, he'll become your friend.
There's just one problem, however; Masaki falls in love too easily. Not love per se, rather he gets crushes too easily. He calls it his curse, and it happens almost certainly everytime he has a long conversation with a girl. He means well and is too embarrassed to get passed it sometimes. Thus, he likes to avoid talking to women.

Physical Description:
Masaki isn't a very tall boy, fairly average. His most notable feature is his noticeably red hair, almost maroon in color. His eyes are a soft blue color, a bit pale but not usually seen close up to be able to tell. He wears the standard shinigami shihakusho without the sleeves. Decorative thins ropes are wrapped around his chest and right arm, ending tied around his hand.
A red strip of cloth is tied around his waist as well, and it is here that he holds his zanpakuto
Zanpakuto Name and Sealed Description:
Itatsi (Weasel)
This zanpakuto is a standard katana with a triangular shaped hilt. The hilt is a deep black color with a red diamond pattern on the sides and a red tassel on the end.

Shikai:
"Show your fangs, Itatsi!" (Weasel)
While saying the release command for Itatsi, Masaki pulls his sword arm back, then hurls it forward. The sword becomes a sickle with a long chain that ends in a handle that Masaki holds. He can swing the sickle forward and back for long range move or grip the sickle short range handle and use short range attacks.
Shikon Kaze (Fang Wind)
Masaki grips Itatsi's short range handle and makes a wide slice motion. An arc shaped blast of wind is released from blade, capable of slicing through trees and damaging bodies severely, especially at close range.
Itachi Hitonomi (Weasel Bite)
Masaki grips the long range handle and swings the sickle forward. The chain can lengthen if the target is farther away. This move causes the blade to incase itself in the targets shoulder or other part of their body. Wind forms around the blade to widen the cutting edge.
Kyouran Boushi Spinning Fury
Masaki grips the long range handle and spins Itatsi in a wide circle at high speed. Eventually, the winds collect into a giant destructive wind disk. Masaki then swings Itatsi forward, and sends the disk flying at the enemy. Though powerful, it takes time to prepare so a distraction is usually required.

Kamaitachi (Sickle Weasel)
Masaki's bankai maifests itself in the form of 3 human sized black weasels. He refers to them as triplets. All 3 weasels wear silver collars around their necks that are connected to chains that end wrapped around Masaki's right arm. Like in his shikai, the chains can extend and retract. Each weasel wields a very large scythe and also have the power to manipulate wind. Masaki controls them all equally.
Kaze Kansei (Gale Trap)
The three weasels move at the speed of wind around multiple targets and use their chains to trap them, tying them up. If all three weasels focus on one target, the attack is that much stronger and more difficult to break. Masaki can send one, tow, or all three weasels to perform this duty. Once the target is captured, Masaki can retract the chains to bring the target closer to him. He can also then command the weasels to stab or strike.
Naraku no Kyouran Boushi (Hellish Spinning Fury)
All three weasels spread out from Masaki at an equal distance, which can be very short or very long. The three weasels then fly around him at high speed, creating a more powerful spinning cyclone attack. With the longer radius and more powerful cutting edge, Masaki can level multiple buildings by simply creating the attack. Then, like in his shikai, the weasels stop spinning and the disk goes flying forward at high speed.
Chiyu Itachi (Healing Weasel)
Kamaitachi's only healing move. Chiyu Itachi comes from the legend of the third weasel being the healer. All three weasels close in around Masaki and apply medication to his wounds through their saliva. Theoretically, it could be used to heal someone besides Masaki. Using this attack leaves Masaki temporarily vulnerable, and is thus used sparingly.

Bio:
During Life
Masaki was a boy of ordinary skill and luck. He liked to practice meditation and other forms of relaxation, as well as some martial arts. Masaki lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with his mother, and had to work a part time job during school in order to help pay the bills. When his mother fell ill, Masaki dropped out in order to work full time to pay her hospital bill. After a year of late nights and early mornings, it finally seemed like his mother was getting better. One day at the hospital, he was proudly told by doctors that his mother's illness was cured! He himself got to wheel her out of the hospital.
And it was just outside those hospital steps that tragedy struck. As Masaki helped his mother to her car, a mugger pulled a gun on them and demanded money. Masaki instantly threw himself in front of his mom. The mugger quite literally jumped the gun and fired prematurely, effectively ending Masaki's life at the age of 15.
After Life
Masaki awoke to the hustle and bustle of the Rukongai. Unable to deal with what had just happened, he rushed into the woods and was lost there for weeks. He had survived on water, but found himself getting hungry. This was odd, as he knew only those with spiritual energy became hungry. In the woods, Masaki encountered a hollow. He was frightened and felt helpless, just as he had in the face of his mother's killer.
A shinigami leaped from the trees and sliced the hollow in two! Masaki realized it was the shinigami's presence that had made him hungry. He thanked the shinigami and after learning more about the Soul Society, asked her what squad she was on. She told him squad 8. Masaki smiled, and decided he would join that very squad.
After passing through the Shinou Academy at a rapid pace, Masaki became a Shinigami!
