Cities tend to have a lot of problems with pollution and environmental degradation. Those living in cities or near them may have noticed the large dome of smog surrounding them.

I thought it would be fun to have a thread to brain storm possible ways to deal with some of the problems of cities. This can include ways to fight down smog, heat, protect wild life, offer health services to citizens and pretty much anything else you can think of as long as it involve cities.

Wetland Waste Treatment.
I love this idea more than I love cake.
The general idea behind it is that Wetland plants have a natural ability to treat waste water and applying that ability to a more urban use. Some cities and individuals already make use of this idea. For more in depth information follow the link. Wetlands
Making wetland waste treatment a part of normal waste treatment within a city would help increase the quality of the water and lower long term costs within the city. Also it is just positively green. If anyone would want to learn more or if I have time later I will write a more in depth and proper analysis of this.
