It had been but a few days since Neria took over the herd, Rosie was still trying to get her mind aroun the event, her sister a herd leader? however straight away she saw how this could work in her favour, her sister was more open minded than her father and mother, she was in tune with the younger generation, so she headed to see her in the daylight. The sunrays beating down on them all. She smiled, saying a happy tune, it had been a long time since she saw the light of day, she had become a creature of the night for obvious reasons, to her at least. She smiled and layed under a tree, next to her older sister. Smiling happily. "Morning Neria! how are you?"
Neria laid in the warmth of the sunlit rays which Eden had brought to them almost everyday of summer give or take the odd thunderstorm or flood of rain. It was still the perfect home, to their family. Her ears twitched at the soft ring of a song and her blue orbs instantly took to the only one it could have possibly come from. Her sister. When she approached and took a lay next to her, she smiled back at her, letting her head wings flutter a little. "Moooooorning Rosie-kins!" She chuckled leaning over to nuzzle her cheek. "What a pleasant surprise to see you here." She paused looking around the lands, she was trying to spot her friend she ws always with however she had gathered it was more than just friendship by now. "Usually your with you-know-whoo." She teased playfully. Winking.
"He does not come out in daylight, I do not know if thats from choice or necessity." She chuckled, it was true, her and Kai had been insuperable the months since he came to live in these lands with her father. More so the last couple of weeks. However that was the reason she came to see her sister now, the sun bright in the sky, she wanted to tell her sister something that was not meant to his ears. She nuzzled her cheeky back. Neria had raised Rosabis however was not a mother in her eyes, a guide she could come and talk to about everything, now the herd leader. It was time for Neria to do her first act of business. "Well, now you are in charge, this question is yours to answer." She smiled, looking up at the bright skies. She knew Neria would answer with her head, not her heart, no like her father would. "I want to presue a lifemate." She stated, looking the other way slightly. She was embarrassed and had no idea how to go about asking this.
Neria's eyes lit up. Rosabis, with a mate, for life? This was great news to her! The younger ones were finding love that would last a lifetime. She loved romance, couples and how cute they were together but Rosie was like her own baby and more worry came to her mind more than excitement. She wanted to make sure that she would be making the right choice and that she was absolutely sure, he was the one she would be most happy with. If she was happy then she would be. That went for all the herd members and they were as much as family as her own. "Are you sure he is the one that you will bear your children with, keep a happy and consistent relationship and love till your last breath?" She asked softly, her eyes taking to her with consideration.
"I know that this is what I want now, I am not thinking about kids at all, I mean I am too young. I know that, he is old enough to know if it will work or not and I know that, he would not do anything to upset me as long as he can help it, if he thinks getting together would help me, he wont. If he even feels the same way at all. I am not going to rush, I mean I am just saying this is my plan. However I do not want to go beyond innocence for the time being, I mean its a big deal. I do not want to have my heart broken, not like Terentia." She stated, funny enough, Rosie could be adult at times even though she did not choose to be most of the time. She just wanted to have fun with life, to live free and wild. However she still did have a family, they deserved to know what was happening. This was complecated, more than anything she wanted her father to be okay with this, Kai was his best friend since foalhood and the thought of him with his daughter might be a shock. She was hoping Neria could talk him around, to accept the idea before anything happened, before Rosie put her heart on the line. Better to know it was fine and free to start, than taste the fruit to have it taken away.
Neria contemplated what she said and then gave a firm nod of her head. "Children come part with being life mates. It's not a test, to make a mistake and regret it for the rest of your life. You have to know, your heart is at it's peak and where it wants to be. So, whatever your plans are, you may go through with them just accept that a lifemate, to just someone your testng the waters with is a very big deal and not an easy option to say a quick yes upon. Eventually you will have a ceremony if it works out." She blinked, wondering what her father would say, I mean his reaction to her, she looked to the sky remembering that and raised an eyebrow. Oh boy.
"Okay now the cream on the cake... help me tell daddy, I have wanted to speak this for weeks. However I am scared he will freak out. You know what hes like. I mean, I tried to tell mom, however I thought she would speak to protect daddy." she stated, resting her head on Neria's legs. She hated to speak out and cause trouble, the herd was still in motion now Evan had come back. It was all changing. She smiled though, To be given a chance. She felt odd going around her family, before even going to see Kai about the matter. However. It was the right thing in her mind.
Neria set out in giggles. "You want me to tell Daddy?" She asked with a wide smile on her face. "I think that should be your job, I went through that and I know it's an experience you just have to have." She wanted to make sure she went along her own path and made her own decisions however she didn't mind advising her in the right direction and she could see how it might be troubling to someone so young. "I will be there when you tell him and speak in your favor but the rest is up to you... So, shall we go find him?"
Rosie's face dropped, go to see him now? she swallowed. Oh lord. She stood up, okay, she was brave enough to see her sister, so her father was not a challenge, she had Neria supporting her, and she was sure her mom would do the same, he could be outnumbers, she just did not want to upset her daddy. She nodded. "I- guess, haha. Oh. I am scared." she pouted, taking small steps down the hill, she only had small legs, however she was even making small steps for her. Jo and Tah were relaxing by the pond, sleeping against his mates side. Finding comfort in her long nice smelling hair. He had been a lot more relaxed, now he was not in power. He was just concentrating on getting old gracefully. Middle age. Not as bad as he imagined.
Neria got to her feet, letting the breeze attack her mane in a gentle come through, her eyes set on the direction they were heading and then made her way forward, looking back with a comforting smile caressed on her lips. It was hard, feeling like whatever you do you had to wonder if it was going to effect the ones you cared about negatively, still a controlled life but it made everyone else happy. Sometimes she understood that you just had to do some things for yourself, even with sacrifice.
Rosie wondered with her sister further, before she approached her parents, laying down to face them, surprisingly quiet. Jo opened one of his eyes, his head still leaned against Tah''s neck in a relaxed way. Eying both his daughters with a small smile. "Hi, girls, what are you up to today?" he smiled and let out a small yawn. Giving his mate a loving nuzzle. It was odd seeing his youngest in the middle of the day. "Hi daddy, Hi mom." she smiled nervously. looking to the ground slightly. As always the words did not want to come out
Neria was stood, letting her tail sweep the grass beneath them, switching slow glances around as she beamed the biggest smile ever to her father. "Daddy!" She squeed out of habit then let out a cough and looked the other way.She wasn't allowed to act like that now! She was an adult but the child inside her still said she could be overly happy every time she saw her idol. With the smile still there, she looked back. "Roise has something she wants to tell you~" She sang quietly, waiting to see how this scene turned out.
Jo laughed, sparkles seeming to come to his blue eyes, he lit up whenever Neria said his name like that."Yes I was thinking so, I am not on my side or being run around, it must be serious." he said with a playful smile. Turning to his youngest with a small smile. Rosie looked back at Neria and swollowed once more before taking in a deep breathe. "I want... I want to be lifemated daddy." She stated, then she felt herself go cold. That sounded so childish in her ears. Froze. Jo's eyes seemed to open, he was the only one who did not see how she and Kai where together as anything more than playful so he did not even pop into his mind,he looked at his mate confused. A dark male approached and laid next to Neria. Towering her. Even wanted to see Drama.
Neria could feel the atmosphere become like a deep foggy haze, he was surprised, that much could be seen in his face as she stood observing the matter. When her son came to join them however she couldn't help but seep some admiration into the matter and as he laid down she did too to be at everyone's level, nuzzling Evan's cheek lovingly and then turning her attention to mother, who was next to Daddy but had yet to speak.
Taharial lifted her head at her younger daughters request a little bit hesitant to answer but as a warm, loving smile spread across her peaceful features and a small chuckle eluded from her lips, she looked at Jo expectant of what she saw, his attention upon her and with dark sockets taht couldn't be read she again looked at Rosie. "to kai?" She asked, as if wanting to hear it from her lips herself.
Jo's ears seemed to twitch upwards, his eyes widening at the name that he heard. What was this? how did? He coughed slightly, fully awake now, shame, he was having such a nice snooze. Rosie smiled and gave a small not, saying in a quiet voice. "yes to Kai." she stated, looking away slightly. Jo was in shock, true and utter shock. He looked at the group and twitched, "Kai? hes a little... old don't you think?" he asked, trying to make a excuse more than anything. Whilst plotting how to kill his best friend. Evan smiled and smirked at the situation. Looking at his mother as to say he was amused.
Neria stared back at Evan seeing how he was enjoying Jo's desperation to keep calm. She smiled and turned her head. "He is also lonely." She added. "what better way than to see your daughter and your best friend together with smiles on their faces. When has Kai ever had more of a smile than he has lately? Smirks don't count Daddy." She stated, with her head held high and her wings tucked in to her sides neatly. "I think they deserve this shot. Your older than mummy, much, much older and yet, that didn't stop you either."
Taharial looked quite shocked that Neria had remembered those details and how observant she had actually become. Either that or she just actually did care and want the best for everyone in the herd, which now was her job and she was proving that with every passing day. She looked at Jo, considerate to how he was feeling and nibbled on his mane gently. "She is right, dear." She tilted her head, with brows lowered in thought and sympathy.
"I know I was much older than your mother, he was my age and also much older, however he is much much much much older than Rosie. Haha, forget it, I am a old man, if you kids are into that okay, Neria is in charge and I will support what she says, HOWEVER. Let me talk to Kai first. He is my best friend and we need to talk." He stated taking in a deep breathe. He nodded. Rosie looked at them and blinked. "I- haha, he does not know yet." she stated with a small chuckle. Jo blinked back, so why was she? oh lord. If he was interested he would have asked, this was going to be odd. Evan wanted to laugh, he smiled and nodded.
Neria looked at her with wide eyes. "Y-you haven't told him?" She sweat dropped, this was like a crush, yet she wanted him to be with her forever? She had been as naive when she was younger but now she had the wisdom to see that it isn't how it works. them two have something special, she couldn't deny that. Rosie could bring out the best in Kai and she thought they were worth it but, with so much risk. Maybe it was better to let daddy talk this over with Kai. It was personal to him and two people who were very important in his life coming together. She guessed he just wanted the best for them both and to beat Kai up, now he knew. "That may be the best option at the moment." She smiled weakly and then got to her feet again. Spying for a Zeeke. He never told her when he was off but the soothing chimes of bells said he was near. "Evan, when do you have to leave back to see your pack?" She asked. "I will leave you all to this matter, now that my deed is done and I have another association to make, with my son." She threw her head gently to the side and turned to walk waiting for him to follow.
Taharial laid there and watched them all, just doing her part and keeping quiet within the discussion. She would have an earful tonight once Kai and Jo had spoken or when Rosie managed to tell him her request. She just wondered why Rosie hadn't mentioned this to her first.
Rosie laughed. "I-told you it was a plan." she smiled and nodded. Freaking out a little. Jo nodded and stood up. "It has been a while since I have seen my old friend." He smiled and wondered away from the group, with a small smile on his face. Wondering how he was going to handle this himself. Evan looked over at her and got up wondering over to his mother curiously. Rosie looked at her mother and gave a nervous chuckle.
Kai shivered, as he raised his head up from the shade under a large tree by the neighboring waterfall. His ears perked up and his eyes slid to the side with small curious slits, his ghostly mane and tail swaying behind him in the breeze, hazing into a blue fog. His constellations glittered in the dim light and he sighed, knowing something was coming his way. "What is it?" He asked, unamused. He was always on guard even when he was sleeping, it had been worked into him in his younger years and now was natural to even wake up at a pin drop.
Taharial reached out and pressed her nose against Rosie, a warm smile present. "I think it's a wonderful idea that you want this." she comforted and gave her support. "I was only young when I had made my decision but, as long as you know your feelings are pure, it does not matter. If two belong together, destiny will let it flow how it's meant to."
Jo had been wondering for a while to try and find his friend and it was not until nightfall that he stumbled across the glittering male. He smiled and took a deep breathe in, how was he going to go about this. He felt akward. He put a large smile on his face and wondered down to see him. "Ah, finally found you, its always a mystery where you go during the day, my parents thought you my imagery friend only appearing when others were fast asleep." He stated with a small chuckle before standing near him looking up at the start sky.
Evan followed his mother, curious to hear what she had to say to him. He had not been back long so he presumed that it was about what he had been doing all these years. Or something along them lines. He would g along with it, however he felt tied. He was still
very loyal to Lea. She had raised him more than he could imagine. However because of the conflict with his brother a break was needed. He had lost, he needed to regain strength, to be able to return with pride.
Neria looked at him with soft eyes. "I was hoping to make a suggestion about offering the pack the chance to merge with our herd, with terms to agree to on both ends." She mentioned quietly turning her gaze away from him to the distance a head. She needed to open the herd up, not enough to be caught off guard but enough to make a better, brighter future for generations to come and wandering lost soquili who need guidance again. This was a start and with his pack on their side she knew their security would be the best it could be. It' only what Evan thought about it and the she-wolf demon.
It was just strange that it was Jo, instead of his giggling pixie stalker.
"Aww, good morning to you too. What kind of greeting is that for your oldest friend?" he asked and wondered a little closer, tilting his head. "However you are right, I have not come here to chat, not by any standards. I am here to ask you a question, a important one indeed." He riddled looking over at the water running from the side of the cliff edge. His blue eyes almost glowing in the darkness.
"Hmm, I am not sure. The pack lives for the pack, they are all fighters all strong, they would not see how healers and priests would benefit them. A single weak link would put them off of a issue, plus they would not like the idea of submitting under anyone who they do not see as a power figure. I see your good qualities mother but to them they will see a frail unicorn mare, unless you put them in their place." He stated, it was a huge deal, he was not going to say it would be easy and no problem. He was not too far up in the ranks, he was not blood after all and was the only real outsider. His word to the pack would not be that important, unless he could get Nori on side. If Nori still wanted to see him after his challenge for the throne.
Kai stared at him blankly. Regardless of his friends hyper personality he had his serious moments and Kai knew when to take his words like a pinch of salt and when to really think and listen to everything he said. He was wise and respectable, he always had been if not a little more immature than he is now a days. With a short lived nod of agreement he never once took his orbs from him. "It must be you haven't glomped or nuzzled me yet in a burst of love." He smirked. "Now, like I said, what is it?"
Neria thought about what her son said, it was complicated but it would be the only permanent way to keep her son here instead of running off and making her worried with no word and no idea where he is. She knew he could take care of himself she had lived with that hope for a long time and now knew it was true but as a mother, those feelings still itched at her and she wanted more than just hope and support for his well being. She wanted him to come home for real and win back the time they had missed. "Then we need a way to go about it... A good method, rather than just challenging them head on. Something that would make a good benefit to interest them and not interfere with the balance of this herd either." she shook her head. He knew more about them than she did and violence would kill the whole idea it stood for unless necessary. It was a peaceful herd.
"It is about my youngest. She seems to have taken a shine to you, more so than I would like to admit, however its how things stand and I am afraid she feels for you deeply." He stated, wondering over to him, giving him a large nuzzle at the side of his face. Before wondering once more his heads in the clouds, like a officer doing a interrogation. He looked at his friend a kind smile on his face. "However I would be shocked if such news was new to you. You are quick with these things old friend."
"The alpha decides such a thing, however our alpha is getting older. Lea wants to give the title to a daughter, Nori runs things for now however I have a feeling that's only because her daughter has run off with some stray. It has shamed her more than she wishes to admit, I have a feeling she is wanting another ere, a female one like herself. Its how things work in the pack. Its a lost cause with the mind set they have at the moment, the only sure way to do something like that peacefully is to change the mind of the future leader, Lea is trying for children once more, she puts more paws to scout. My guess is such a ere will come soon." he stated. He was not suggested a plan, just the most possible way for this to happen, he was being serious as always. he nodded to his mother. He did not
question why she was asking him this, who would not want the protection wolves brought.
"Rosie, huh?" He asked, turning his head away from him with a thoughtful gaze. He had grown attached to her over the short amount of time they had been hanging out together and an awful lot at that. He didn't want to step on Jo's toes about it, he knew what he was like since the last time his daughter had seen herself off without telling him at least it was lifted this time. He shook his head. "I knew it was coming, I thought I would have been the one to make the first move however..." He paused and looked back at his old friend. "It's only if it's okay with you. With the fact that I'm almost as old as you, new to the world like a new born with my time not long before it comes to an end and your daughter has double that." He sighed, it was a sad fact and he had been mainly pondering that over the last few weeks where they have been inseparable. That's why he had been scarce.
Neria looked at him surprised at how much intelligence he actually had on the matter. With a small chuckle, she shook her head. "Complicated." She stated and sighed a little lost in thought. She had no idea what Evan's plan was going to be but he seemed to be negotiating the idea so he must of thought it a worthy idea.
"If I can speak honestly, it might be nice, I have a granddaughter out with a demon, a daughter lost to butterflies and a son lost of the ocean. It might be nice, if you could keep her a little closer. I do not mind, at least I did not find out with her returning with child. I love Neria, however I admit I could have killed her. I trust you, as long as you are happy." He stated with a small smile
he knew Kai well. More than he knew himself in ways and he knew that he had nothing to fear with him. He would keep her close and out of trouble, it was sad to see another one of his children grow up. He nodded and gave his friend a small bow before heading over to the waters edge to take a drink.
"Not when you grew up in a pack, its all about discipline, respect and a chain of command, I find the ways you run things odd, all this counciling and debating, as a leader you should have soul say, when does the point come when show such a status? everyone should be waiting for command however they all seem so free. The idea I have to admit is alien to me." He stated, he had always been told what
to do, when to hunt, when to sleep and when to submit. He would do anything for the alpha. Anything she asked, even things his other herd might see as unsacred, Lea was not as loyal as a dog and she liked to play her games with him. Since he was the only other male in the herd not related to her.
Kai smiled knowingly at Jo and just snickered a little. "I guess you'll have to put up with me for a while then, because this is our home now. I'm not going anywhere you old bag." He teased as he also got to his feet, stretching out the sleep in his limbs before shaking his mane and flicking his tail. "I've searched to find my purpose again most of the life I can remember and I have come to terms that it is here with you and helping being a part of this herd and your family. You all need me more than the world outside this mountain needs a ghost." He rarely gave back Jo's kindness but in return he nuzzled his friends neck and stood tall just not as tall as him and looked up to the blonde alicorn.
"Everyone runs differently with various rules and commands, this herd you live your life, you choose your own paths and you have security. It's a world inside it's own." She smiled and looked at Evan, he had grown into such a responsible young adult just a little straight forward and she could see how pressuring the pack must have been. "You'll find your peace here eventually, I hope. It should come more familiar in time.."
"Well said, I would be upset if you did not stick around, however I should be getting back. Rosie is with her mother, and after I went I am sure they are both arguing with themselves about if you are alive or not, they think I am inpulsive and overprotective, where the heck did they come up with that?" he asked, totally oblivious to his own flaws. He chuckled and shook his head looking down at his
friend before wondering back up the hill, why so many hills? they should have picked a flat home land. "Do you want to come? so they believe you are not a corpse?" he added turning back with anther small laugh. Shaking his head some.
"Hmm, it is a change, also how about all the touching? in the pack touching another member is a sign of attack yet there its always touching." he stated, having a good old ramble. Before just letting out a small smile and sigh. "I shall get used to it in time, its already gotten easier the more I have been around." he commented, he hardly had any memories of a foal here. However some where returning slowly. "I need to ask. What are your traditions here? what rules do you all live by mother? I am afraid I am going to offend."
Kai rolled his eyes. It wouldn't surprise him and he was same ol' Jo no doubt about that. He just smirked and followed. "I better do so she doesn't explode of boredom or anxiety unless she is already a melted puddle watering the grass by now." He commented following him up the hill and looking down over the other side at them all lazing about.
Neria chuckled. "Because were just too loving, isn't that right my baby boy?" She smiled widely and teased him as she gave his cheek and extra big nuzzle. No matter how big he grew, even now he was towering her he was still going to be her baby. So was Sauda's he wasn't getting away easily. When he asked her about traditions she shook her head, he had much to learn and then cast him an adoring smile. "Keep peace. Be happy, have fun. Ask to be lifemated, take part in security needs, protect the children. Never taint an innocent mind. Live life the way that will help you learn in a way you won't regret it. It's that simple for you." She commented, there was more to it but it was hard to offend anyone in their homelands. "Just be yourself." She commented and all she was really asking.
Jo wondered across the fields with Kai, approaching his girls, Rosie was all tucked in by Tah's side as usual. Always her mothers girl. One of her little eyes opened to see them coming, lifting up her head, her head rushing to her throat, oh what had he done? She put on a smile and went rushing over as usual, who knows maybe her father did not say anything. Maybe everything was fine. She laughed
and ran around them. "Good morning you two!" she laughed nervously before returning to hide behind her mother. Jo laughed, oh he loved to see her getting all wound up. He shook his head and smiled over at his mate. "How are you Tah?" he asked, he had not talked to her much today at all.
Evan pouted as she came up and nuzzled him, oh well whatever made her happy. Be himself? he did not even know what that was? in his mind he was still as confused as he was as a foal, except now he had learned to distract himself. He just smiled and gave a small bow to his mother. "Thank you." he stated before going to sit under a nearby tree. Waiting for her to follow him.
Taharial raised her head and looked at her beloved mate. She always missed him so much when he wasn't by her side now, that might of been because she was used to him being glued there. She smiled warmly. "I'm fine dear. I trust you both had fun on your wanders?" answering with a chuckle, she finally got to her feet and looked down at Rosie with light laughter following. She was glad someone had taken to her more over the years rather than them all being under Jo's toes. It was cute but it made her happy to have a cling-on this time round.
Kai watched her carefully with his eyes, looking unphased and as normal, unamused as usual which would probably offer Rosie some comfort in his silent state. He stared at Jo and then looked at Taharial a moment. They had lived together and made their family bloom in one lifetime, it was a hard job to maintain and now he would have that responsibility to keep in mind as he looked over to Rosie once more. "Morning little pixie." He smirked, waiting for it.
Neria simply followed after him and laid by his side. It had been a long wild day, yet again in the lives of the imp family. She rested her head on his shoulder. "You should try talking to your father eventually you know..." She mentioned quietly.
Rosie stood to try and look at him, however her mothers hide seemed to be in the way, she reared up at first then just kind of ran under her, no fully grown mare should be able to do that. Never. However it was a tight squeeze. She gave out another nervous chuckle. "Night Kai." She replied it was not morning for all of them and her clock was already messed up enough, she was not changing the name
of her times just yet. Jo smiled and wondered over to his mate. Giving her a small nuzzle on the nose. "Hmm, did we have fun Kai?" he asked with a small smirk having to jump out the way of his daughter, where did she get her energy from? he would like to know. He smiled back at Tah. Rolling his eyes slightly as if to say Typical Rosie. "Love you dear."
"Hmm. I have no been avoiding him, I have yet to see any sign of him or my sister, I was beginning to think they had both left the herd." he stated, looking out into the stary sky with glowing blue eyes.
Taharial gave an 'ooof' when she tried to go under her and raised an eyebrow with a small smile. She was getting a little too big to be doing that but she didn't mind she was used it by now, at least she was actually getting bigger! She thought as she blushed a little at Jo's words. They never wore out and they always meant so much more to her every time he said it. "I love you too. Hunny." She nibbled affectionately at his mane as she leaned over and tugged his ribbons in her nibble, bringing him closer with 'that look in her eye' adults will understand, children will not.
Kai just watched her and shook his head. CONFUSING MUCH!? She just said morning to him. Ugh he could never win. He looked at her parents and then turned his back. "Come on, we need a chat of our own~" He smiled, winking back at Jo. "I dunno, I might have more fun now." He teased, knowing it would get to his older friend with a bit more bite to it. They were always at it.
Neria closed her eyes and buried into his mane a bit more. "Sylar like you mainly stays in the darkness so he isn't seen much generally and your sister isn't really a one love kind of girl. So even if she does stay close to home, she is possibly out doing her thing outside the herd." She admitted with a slight hint of sorrow in her tone.
Jo's eyes turned around to see his friend with a raised eyebrow. Giving a small ahem. Telling himself that Kai was trying to provoke a reaction, luckily enough he was distracted as Tah pulled oh him. She was so lovely. Giving her another small nuzzle. "Call me old, I am ready for bed. Coming?" he asked, late nights were beyond him. Far beyond him.
Rosie looked and blinked, eyes going between the two and her ears pinging up into the sky. She followed along with Kai, a small spring in her step as usually, curious and also terrified of what he had to say to her. He seemed happy enough with her father however she did not know to take that as a good sign or not. She tilted her head and wondered ahead slightly humming, giving a way and a good
night to her parents.
Evan looked at her and sighed. "It is not your fault, they will find their place in this world as you have, sometimes things are not fair so you have to make the most, I am here now." he smiled, wrapping a ghostly arm around her, trying to comfort her in some way.
Taharial gave a small chuckle at his touch and nodded enthusiastically. Bed sounded good. She followed off after him and smiled back at the other two "nighty night lovelies."
Kai listened to her humming and looked down at her, staring for a short while. "You said something to your family earlier, about us?" he questioned looking up to the stars in the wide open variations of blues, lilacs and black his own body like a reflection. Maybe he was just a ghost, ghost of the stars. He wanted to hear it from her mouth how she felt and in return he would give his own advances. He was sure of it and no other had he been able to grow so close to in a small amount of time, that was someone other than Jo.
Neria nuzzled into him giving another of her perky smiles, open her eyes to look him in the eyes when he looked at her and nodded in agreement. "My baby is back and I have his comfort. Most needed to keep me on my toes..." She added knowing Sylar would be patrolling the area now he was a protector of the herd. He had done a good job and fortunately there had been no intruders. They were quite lucky in that aspect, family drama seemed to be the highlight of danger and worry more than fear of an ambush.
Rosie looked at him, before looking at the ground, ah, so he had not gone that well, she guessed she should answer honestly, after all her father probably already told him everything. "Yea I did. I said I was interested in you in ways beyond that of friendship. I did not mean it to go as far as my father going to you. I just wanted them to be aware, to make sure they were okay with it before I said anything..." she began pausing and letting out a small sight looking to the side as she stopped walking forward. "I am sorry."
Evan looked at her with a small smile. "I suppose. However I am not as much trouble as I appear to be, although I once was, I am sorry for what I did when I was younger mother. I did not mean to cause you any distress. I was just a foal." he stated, his ears flattening besides his head slightly as he sighed, closing his eyes.
Kai was baffled. Why was she apologizing? It was admitting a lot to him sure but there was no need to be sorry. He also stopped in his tracks and turned to her, staring down with no emotion pasted into his features before letting a small smile creep to his muzzle. "What are you apologizing for?" He asked, curiously. "There is no need to. When I already had accepted..." His words grew quieter as he stepped closer and put his head against hers gently.
"It's fine Evan, that's what you wanted to do and I grew to understand and accept that. You came back and answered my prayers. You grew up to be an excellent young man, with responsibility, manners and a stud." She closed her eyes once more, feeling the heavy weight of sleep on her back. It had been a long day. "What more could I ask for?" She smiled with a soft sigh pulling him closer into their cuddle with her neck arched over his.
She opened her eyes to look up into his, she always had a habbit of putting her hoof in her mouth and was suprise his reaction. "Accepted what?..." She asked quietly, her voice no more than a whisper. A small blush creeping onto her face, she could hear her heart racing in her ears.
What else could she ask for? a foal that stayed by his mother that's what. He had always felt so guilty about leaving her and truth be told he was homesick for a long time after. He smiled and watched her and rested his head on the ground. "Good night mother." he whispered closing his eyes. It seemed like no more needed to be said for now. Best thing to do was get some rest before morning.
"That one day it was most likely going to be me and you. together. As mates. If it ever cropped up, I would accept." He stated, looking her in the eyes. They were not cold like usual, they were serious and it told that it meant a lot to him, that he meant it.
"night. Love you." She smiled and also drifted off to catch up on some well needed sleep.
Rose looked up at him, then walked around him, wondering in the direction they were going in, she did not know where she was going, she just wanted to keep walking. "I see. Well, I guess I kind of beat you to the punch so to speak, its cropped up now." She gave a nervous chuckle, shaking her head to look back over her shoulder at him. "So then does this mean...?" She began going quiet again which
was unusual for her. She was not expecting this when she went to see Neria this morning, not at all.
Kai turned looking after her as she walked. He still remained stood still and stubborn to not move from that very spot. His mane blew into his face and then back behind him, his tail and his whole body glowing in the moonlight. "You tell me." He stated.
Never changed. However this time it forced her to laugh. Why was he always like that? She wondered back in his direction knowing she could walk off the side of the Earth before he would chose to follow her. "It is not only my choice to make, is it what you want Kai? You said it was most likely. However you did not say its what you wanted in you heart. It is what mine does." She mentioned,
wondering ever so closer as she did.
"Good. That's what I want too. If your close to me, this close forever. I would consider myself a lucky man." He snickered, with a small smile arching his neck over hers and tugging back so her side fell in to his chest comfortably, nuzzling at her cheek.
Rosie let out a small meep as he pulled her towards him, digging her head into his chest as he nuzzled her cheek. A warm smile coming onto her face as she closed her eyes. "I am going to head off to bed Kai, I had to stay awake into the daytime to talk to my parents. However I shall come and see you tomorrow night. As always." She added with a small smile, rubbing her head under his chin.
Kai nodded slowly and lipped at her mane. "I can come with you if you want me to." He tilted his head to the side, eying her carefully.
Rosie looked back at Kai. A small smile coming to her face. "I would like that. Come on, I don't think you have ever seen my little den." She nodded and lead the way back to her little sleeping place, curling and settling down amongst the small flowers. Drifting off into the land of sleep. Wondering how the rest of her days, or nights, where going to pan out.
