My daughter is watching James and the giant Peach and it made me realize: Harry Potter is practically a rip off of the plot.
James Potter's parents are killed.
Harry Potter's (son of James) parents are killed.
James Potter is sent to live with his hateful aunts (one skinny and one fat) who work him to death, give him a tiny room, and treat him badly.
Harry is sent to live with his aunt and uncle who treat hime the same.
James Potter is approached by a mysterious man who knows who he is and offers him freedom and happiness.
Harry is approached by Hagrid and offers him his place at Hogwarts ending his unhappiness.
James goes to a 'magical' world inside the Peach.
Harry goes to a magical world at Hogwarts.
I mean come on!

Plots just seem to get repeated over and over again. There really isn't anything original any more.

Yeah. I liked the earlier books. The newer books just do not seem very interesting to me.

I Remember I Only Got To Book Four.
And Then I Just Gave Up...I Felt The Story Was Just Being Written To Take Up The Rest Of His "High-School" Years.
