Out of all the things that seemed distinctly out of place with the scene, it was the light that woke Angela up. She always made sure to close her windows and pull the curtains, because when the sun came up, the light was annoyingly persistent.

She mumbled under her breath and turned her head away from it, snuggling deeper into the pillow she was gripping until... she realized it was breathing. The notion seemed to kick start her brain out of lethargy, and she dared open an eye to peek lazily ahead of her, where the flashing images of the TV screen greeted her. With another 'mrfffft' like sound, she turned away from it, pressing her face into the still distinctively alive, breathing pillow.

After a moment, she came to the realization that... she wasn't in the habit of sleeping in a semi-sitting, semi-laying down position as of normal and that this situation should probably be further explored. With great difficulty, she lifted her head up, bringing a hand to rub at her eyes as she tried to make heads or tails of the situation at hand; an unfamiliar apartment stared right back at her and confusion marred her features until she turned to look down upon the boy that she'd pretty much been using as a makeshift pillow.

Ooooooohhhh... Oh.

Blinking, she turned her gaze to look at herself, finding that she was still clothed and there was, in fact, no alcohol whatsoever involved in the scene, which meant she was logically, safe to assume she'd fallen asleep. For someone that had woken up in a strange apartment, clinging to a boy, she seemed to be keeping her cool extraordinarily well, "Nate," she whispered the word before pulling herself up so she was almost nose to nose with him, "Hey, Nate..." then reaching up, she patted his cheek a bit with one hand.

If Nathan had to compare this night's sleep to all the other ones he had ever had, he would have to say it was among the best. Not because it was particularly restful: it wasn't, he was in an awkward position, and his neck would bother him all day. The TV had woken him a couple of times with its flickering, but he couldn't reach the remote after dropping it some time in the night.

No, it wasn't the actual sleep that made this one of the best nights. It was actually waking up with Angela right in front of him, looking into his face.

"Good morning," he said, after she had tapped him on the face. She was pretty close, and he couldn't resist leaning forward and surprise-kissing her on the nose. He shifted to sit up a bit, bleary. Mornings were always rough, and he considered himself a night owl.

Looking around, he remembered that they had been watching the movie when she fell to sleep. He should have woken her, and now he had to wonder if she was in trouble.

"I guess we fell to sleep... I should get you home, huh?" He frowned thoughtfully. If her parents got mad he'd take the blame. It wasn't like he was unaccustomed to adults yelling at him, after all. And it was his fault, since he could have avoided it by waking her.

Unlike him, she hadn't woken up several times that night, but then, that probably had to do with the fact she'd often time fallen asleep while watching a movie or a DVD; the flickering screen had almost no effect on her. That, and well, she'd pretty much been using him as a makeshift pillow, which meant he'd been the one enduring it. It had not been the most comfortable of sleeping positions, but Angela had a rather deep sleep and was only now starting to feel the effects it'd had on her neck and back.

She just... simply couldn't find it in her to be upset. It'd been worth it. Even if her parents yelled at her it'd have been worth it; she did expect to get scolded a bit, but she didn't really think she'd get into trouble. At least not any real, actual trouble; she was usually bluntly honest and had a horrible time lying, to the point her parents could tell when she tried. So thus, she pretty much planned to tell them that she'd fallen asleep watching a movie and that nothing bad had happened.

Her train of thought sort of derailed off into a mountain side when he woke up and rewarded her efforts with a surprise kiss. In her defense, she was still more than half asleep, and thus it did indeed catch her by surprise, but before she could even react, he'd drawn away, "You missed," she caught herself saying, "Your aim is off; you should be aiming lower."

Unfortunately, a yawn ruined whatever effect she was going for there, and she took the moment to stretch out a bit, "Yes, I noticed," a bit of a smile shined through as she spoke, "And yes. Yes you should. I don't think I can warrant staying for a third movie. And we're not really doing a good job at actually watching them, anyways," not that it really mattered, apparently.

Nathan thought she had a point when she said he should have aimed lower, but her yawn kept him from fixing the situation. He grinned at her, shaking his head, and then he caught her yawn despite his effort to stave it off. He sighed, running hand through his hair.

She was right, they were terrible at actually watching the movies. Two, and they only seen maybe half of one, and a third of the second. Nathan even less than that. Oh well, the movies weren't the important part anyway.

"Alright, we should get... uh... cleaned up or something. If you need the bathroom it's just down the hall. The door's open so you'll see it. I gonna... feed Booder."

A couple of errands before setting out. The important things, like brushing his teeth (and he offered her a spare toothbrush he found, in its box, under the sink. Presumably something of Tony's, perhaps from a recent dentist visit). He was still thinking about that kiss he had gotten wrong, and when he would catch her to correct it.

When she wasn't expecting it. It was more fun that way.

In all honesty, getting cleaned up sounded like a terribly good idea and after a moment, the girl pushed herself off from the sofa, and thus his warmth in order to tend to her needs. No sooner did she stand, that she felt the need to stretch, pulling her arms over her head with a soft sigh of relief as she released the tension her limbs had gathered over night. Not that it mattered; it'd still all been worth it, even despite the stiffness of her neck, "It was a good night," she voiced her thoughts out loud.

When Nathan mentioned Booder, Angela blinked and then turned to look around the room, making a soft clicking noise with her tongue. It took her a small while, but she finally located the raven, whom had taken perch on a lamp. At the sound, he raised his head from where he'd been hiding it under his own wing and turned to look at the girl. She made a motion, and the bird came over instantly, landing on her stretched arm, "Feeding in general would be good," she said as she opened a window, extending her arm out of it so the bird could leave the apartment to go feed.

She then turned to tend to her own needs, washing or cleaning her face, hands and teeth. Freshening up was done as best as she could without actually having to take a shower, but even despite all that... she still thought it'd been worth it, and she'd have done everything exactly the same, even with hindsight knowledge, "We... need to do this again. Maybe without the falling asleep on the sofa part," a pause as she went to look for her violin case, "But then... I liked that too," the failed kiss was actually far off her mind by then.

Nathan heard her say the night was good and he nodded his agreement. It had been a very nice night, and he would definitely want to do it again. He put some bread in the toaster and found some butter. It seemed Tony wasn't much for breakfast foods, as there were precious few around.

"Do you want some toast?" he called from the kitchen, already plotting.

He would get her on the walk back. Not too close to her house, where ever that was, lest her parents or someone see him. But somewhere along their walk he'd be able to sneak a surprise kiss in there, and aim lower than the tip of her nose this time. It wasn't the most complicated of plans, but who said it had to be? As long as he didn't poke anyone's eye out or make anyone fall over, it was a good idea.

"Here you go," he said to the hamster, while the bread was toasting. He looked at the fuzzy little animal, who was very happy to get food. Nate imagined he might as well keep the thing alive for Tony. Payment, kind of, for stealing his apartment while he was in a coma.

That seemed fair.

After taking a peek inside the violin box, as if to make sure that yes, she'd in fact left the instrument there and not some place else, sh turned to Nathan, "Yes please. That would be lovely; what time is it anyhow?" judging by the amount of light that filtered into the apartment and the fact they hadn't been sleeping in the most comfortable of positions, she guessed it must've been early. Granted, she was a heavy sleeper, and once she fell asleep, nothing short of an atomic bomb could cause her to wake up, so she wasn't entirely sure.

"Ready when you are," she offered as she approached the hamster's cage, crouching down beside it to watch the animal eat, "Next time... I'll treat you to the food," she had actually noticed that no one had actually come into the apartment overnight, which meant he probably lived alone with the Tony person he'd mentioned earlier. She wasn't entirely sure what their relationship was, but she'd figured that if the boy wanted to tell her, he'd do so.

She was also mildly glad it's rained the previous night; it'd meant she'd had an excuse of sort to pass on patrolling, thought it probably meant she'd have to buckle down today and make up for the lost time. She wasn't looking forward to that.

Nathan glanced around for a clock, not wearing a watch, and saw that it was earlier than he tended to be conscious at, let alone up and about. "It's a little after seven," he said, sounding put off by that. Mornings were the worst. He heard the toast pop up and went to get it, buttering it because it didn't look like Tony had anything else.

He brought her a slice and one from himself, holding it in his mouth and speaking around it.

"We should probably go," he said, offering to take her violin case again. It seemed only right, since he had carried it here, and should carry it back. They'd have to find somewhere to play together some time, he noted.

He went to the door, waiting for her.

She took the toast he offered, and mimicked him by putting it in her mouth so she could offer the violin case in return, then, after taking one last look at the apartment, she followed him out the door.

The streets were unsurprisingly empty; not only was it early (in Angela's opinion, much too early to even consider getting out of bed), but half the city was in a deep coma. Of course the streets would be deserted. Not that it was that big of a deal; it meant that she could enjoy the walk back home talking about nonsense with Nathan, without really having to worry about anyone looking at her like she'd recently come out of a mental institute. That aside, the solitude gave for a rather peaceful intimacy, as far as she was concerned.

It was... nice.

Or technically, it would've been nice if her sense hadn't suddenly alerted her there was someone watching. It was a strange feeling, like a tingle that crept up her spine, and Angela did not appreciate it in the least. She, in fact, suddenly began walking much closer to Nathan than she had been moments ago, and her expression turned serious as she looked around. Her mouth opened, no doubt to comment on said feelings when something shot out of the alley to her right; whatever it was, wrapped around her right leg and then gave a forceful yank.

The tug sent the girl to the floor and she landed with a yelp, hissing as she braced the fall with her knees and hands, "What the--" she wasn't allowed to finish the phrase, because another forceful yank tugged her into the dark alley, leaving the boy back in the street. When her eyes got accustomed to the darker atmosphere, they landed on the creature that had dragged her in; it was some sort of a... strange lizard, no bigger than a pony, and the thing that had wrapped around her ankle was, in fact, it's tongue.

The strange thing was that even as it looked at her, the Creature kept vanishing and reappearing as it moved, almost chameleon like; when it stopped, it adopted the look of whatever it was pressed against, making it hard to spot, "Oh god, don't these things ever sleep?!"

Nathan was enjoying his walk with her. He hadn't grabbed his paintball gun, since he was carrying her violin case, and he didn't think he would need it for any spontaneous vandalism at the moment. He had no reason to believe that some kind of monster would attack them or something.

Right?

Walking with her was great. He was enjoying their random conversation, making dumb jokes and just trying to keep her interested in him. Did he have to try that hard? He doubted it. He would learn, eventually, the happy medium between not caring enough and being too show-offy.

Someday.

Noting she was walking closer, her glanced at her, then saw something whip out of the alley. "Angela!" he yelped as she was tugged away from him, scrambling to follow. He was trying to help her up but he was cut off just as she was speaking as she was pulled deeper into the alley way and he had to dart after her. He put the violin case down, not dropping it because he knew it was important to her even subconsciously and didn't want to wreck it.

He didn't see anything as he ran over to her, helping her up. "What the hell happened there?" he asked, half thinking she was playing some kind of joke on him.

"The thing's like a chameleon!" she yelped, desperately trying to yank at the tongue that remain wrapped around her ankle. Not only was it absolutely gross, but it was actually starting to cut off her circulation, "It keeps vanishing!" technically vanishing wasn't the right word to use here; as it crawled up a wall and gave the girl another yank, Nathan was probably able to see it. At least... until it stopped moving, and it once again remain almost invisible to the naked eye.

"God, why now, not now!" despite having been dragged (again) she was focusing on trying to untie the thing's tongue while keeping an eye on it at all times. Needless to say, it was hard work, and she was managing to fudge up both tasks. Not only were her hands sleeping from the tongue, but she couldn't really keep her full attention on thing.

Frustration bubbled up and as the thing yanked again (probably successfully ruining her clothes even further), Angela reached to the side and grabbed a large rock she'd seen out of the corner of an eye. Gripping it in one hand, she smashed it hard over the lizard's tongue, pinning it against the rock and the ground. The attack made the creature squeal, and she felt the tongue release her ankle, finally allowing her to scramble (albeit clumsily) to her feet.

With a hiss, the creature lowered itself down from the wall and onto the ground, slowly advancing on them with an open mouth; as it moved, it remain mostly visible, allowing them to see rows of shark teeth.

Nathan blinked in confusion, looking around before he caught a glimpse of the strange, color shifting monster. He looked surprised more than scared when he saw it, and he kept hold of Angela's ankle in an effort to help her get free of it. It vanished again and he turned his full attention to his companion.

He tugged her as she made to get to her feet, pulling her to him. That was a nice move, hitting the thing with the rock, but now the monster didn't look too happy with them. Nathan growled at it, wishing he had brought his paintball gun with him, or something.

But at least he had his pocket knife.

He flipped it open and gripped it tightly, trying to stay in front of Angela. He didn't know, of course, that she had a much better chance against the monster than he did. It seemed to be trying to loom, though it wasn't quite tall enough to do that effectively. The teeth didn't look very nice, though.

Nathan, not being the brightest crayon in the box, charged at the monster rather than waiting for it to attack. His knife flashed in the dim of the alley and he tried to stab the thing in the neck. The result was the youma slamming him in the side with its head, sending him sprawling into the nearest wall.

Not his best plan.

"Angela get out of here!" he yelled, getting to his feet. He was so not going to let this monster beat him. He had a reputation! So he jumped at the thing, as if to tackle it. Nathan spent too much of his time fighting other kids like him: he had a bit of pride in him, and didn't know when to run from a fight.

She'd been distracted due to catching a glimpse of the knife he was carrying. She hadn't known he was carrying that thing, but all her mind could do was cheer dimly at the notion that they, at least, weren't entirely empty handed.

Her distraction resulted in the boy charging forth before she could so much as get a peep in, and she watched in horror as the creature headbutted him into a wall, "What?! No! Are you crazy? I'm not leaving you alone!" it was perhaps firmer than she was used to talking, but his order was just... she couldn't do that. Angela had seen first hand what these creatures did, to both human and senshi if they were caught off-guard.

For such a large thing, and despite the fact it walked slow, it's reflexes seemed to rather good, because when Nathan charged at it again, the creature opened it's mouth, snapping it's head towards him; it was probable that this time, it'd aim to get a bite out of the boy.

Without a second to spare, she charged towards the boy, not the creature, intent on shoving him out of the way. The thing's jaws closed a narrow few centimeters away from them, but no sooner did it miss, that it attacked again, snapping it's tail at them like a whip. The force of the hit (or part of it anyhow) caught Angela across her abdomen, sending her flying a few feet back. The landing was worse than the hit though, and she hissed, suddenly realizing that this was not going to work.

It wasn't going to work at all.

She couldn't even take the hit of it's tail in this form. She was lucky she didn't have any damned broken ribs as it was. She did the only thing she could think of doing, what with her survival on the line, ""Scorpio Zodiac Power, Make-Up!" it wasn't shouted so much as hissed, the air having been knocked out of her.

The creature's eyes narrowed and it's attention fixed on her as Scorpio replaced Angela.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 26, 2010 12:40 pm

Nathan was rather angry that she decided not to listen to him. He was supposed to be saving her, damn it! He never made the effort to be of any use to anyone, and this is how she thanked him? Leaping at him?

He was so not going to bother with heroism any more, if this was how it worked out.

He felt her suddenly getting slammed and thrown from him, though, and he turned to see her land roughly not too far away. "Angela!" He yelped, scrambling to his feet again after being knocked down from her shove. He still had his knife in his hand, though he clearly hadn't been able to use it yet.

He stopped short, blinking, as he watched something very strange happen. Angela... transformed? Into... Scorpio? The girl from the rooftops, with the dog! He blinked, baffled. Had he done some kind of drugs and was just on a bad trip he couldn't remember even starting?

Snapping out of his trance, he saw the monster start to lunge toward Scorpio, and he, on an instinct he hadn't known himself to have, leaped on its back in an effort to slow it down. Its tail lashed up and struck him hard in the back, and he let go without having accomplished much of anything. He had tried to stab it in the shoulder, but his knife seemed to just glance off uselessly.

She saw the way he looked at her, and to her credit, Scorpio managed to offer him a short, sheepish look before the creature launched itself at her. Not even Nathan's tackle seemed to slow it down, and she was still on the ground, which meant she was clearly at a disadvantage. Tearing her sight from the youma, she turned to glance up rather sharply, looking for the sun; any source of light that could be of use. She had just enough enough time to place the magnifying glass in her hand in just the right position to blind the creature.

It roared, stopped mid charge and recoiled away from her, blinking as it lifted a clawed hand to scratch at it's eyes. The distraction gave her just enough time to scramble to her feet, and she moved swiftly to Nathan's side, "I'll explain later," she told him before she motioned to the knife, "I'm going to restrain it as best as I can. Try to sink that think under it's jaw and slash it down across it's throat. Maybe it's skin is soft enough to break there."

That was all she was able to say, and really, it was a bit of a miracle she was even able to convey that much, given the fact she was still mildly winded, her abdomen hurt and she was panicked. The creature stopped scratching at it's face, growled and charged towards them again. Reacting as fast as her body would let her, Scorpio aimed a kick at the creature's legs and the reptile roared in frustration as it tripped. Then, still using the boost the adrenaline that course through her veins offer, she attempted to grab the thing in headlock, just enough time to allow the boy to finish it.

She just hoped she was right and the thing's throat was vulnerable like a crocodile's.
