Liuxingyu only truly fit in in the tundra. It was easy to hunt, and so she spent a lot of her time up there. Her coat made it easy to blend in with the snow there, and therefore it was easier to hunt. However… It was the brief thaw. She hated the thaw, it was wet and muddy, and hard to find a dry spot.
So she had up and left for a little while. At least, until it got cold again. There were very few animals who returned for the snows. She was weird like that, it seemed. Today she found herself on the good old steppes- flat and seemingly repetitive, you could be easily deceived by these lands. They seemed to go on infinitely with no changes, but there were. Different scents, individuals, prey trails… There truly were no two locations on the steppes that were the same. When you don't realize that, they seemed to get dangerous sometimes.
Luckily, her mother had taught her well. The wolf had just finished off a hare and cleaned herself up. She stood beside a river in the warmer weather, wind ruffling her fur- something she was grateful for. She lapped at it, but wished she could meet someone… She looked up to scan the horizon, though she found herself staring North, wishing she could return to those frozen lands.
