Choji slouched into the sofa, moving her body sideways as she rested her head against a pillow and propped her legs up on the opposite arm. She felt comfortable, maybe a little too comfortable. Even if she didn’t have anything to do, she always though she was forgetting something. On this hot afternoon, she felt the same way.
Choji just entered a captainship, and she was till in her teenage years. Well, late teenage years, but she was young. And back in those academy days that she graduated from earlier than her classmates, there was always something to do. She was used to the bustling. Now, as a captain, she felt rather helpless.
I guess it will take some time to get used to this… She stretched out her arms and arched over to crack her backbone. She didn’t really feel like meeting other captains either. Not that she was antisocial, but she often felt ostracized by adults because of her age and maybe even her size. It was awkward when she spent time around older students back in the academy, since she often had to train with them, so her office was probably the best place to stay for now. She really hoped on getting a squad member soon. She hated being alone.
She was slightly dozing off by now, to the quiet ticking of her clock, to the natural smell of jasmine tea, to her memories of her pre-captaincy days…
Four hours later, she almost toppled off the cough, almost getting a mini-heart attack as she found herself dangling over the edge. She yawned and pulled herself up, fumbling her hands through her hair. She then poured herself a cup of jasmine tea, playing with the delicate white flower floating about before sipping a little. She placed it gently on the glass table, making a light clunking sound.
You’ve awoken, little one? came Mithril’s deep, melodious voice.
Yeah…I’m gonna go practice.
Take the pipster with you then.
Cho smiled as she bent down beside the sofa, making a soft chirping sound. Kokoro popped its head out. The little white rabbit lazily hopped out and nudged its head against her hand. “Hullo, sweet.” Where are we going?Training grounds, coming along? It nodded. She gathered it into her arms, kissed it on the head, and placed it on her shoulder, where it stood, its arms holding on to her necklace. She walked over to the door and took her Zanpaktou, which was placed horizontally on a stand placed in the center of a majestic table sculpted in the form of a dragon. Then she took her bow, slung it over her other shoulder and grabbed a couple of arrows. “Okay, let’s roll! Hang on tight little buddy ~” she said in her singsong voice and shunpoed out the open door, heading for the squad’s training grounds. Kokoro grabbed on her necklace for its life…
