The captain of the fourth being somewhat of an odd one, looking at the specs of the room, one will find it is a perfect cube, typically each side is accompanied with three large windows, usually spattered in colors, depending upon how active he has been in his art. Odd enough, there is a second floor to it, which is where one will usually find the captain.

The room is quite open, the walls lined with various strips of canvas, or cans of paint, one of the few things the captain comes back with from the world of the living. Entry will find only the artist's studio, the bed resting up above and out of sight. The difference between the chaos below and the order in the room above.

It was a rather uneventful day. He'd left some of the other seated officers in the division to help the newer members of the medical squad, as the shinigami had been struck with inspiration. Gray spattered across a canvas, as the captain swung the brushes about, the kodachi hanging upon his hip dangling gloriously.

You really have to quit doing this from time to time... Use brighter colors! The skies aren't overcast! The chiding voice of the spirit from within, it seemed the artists were at opposite ends of the spectrum this day. Dropping one brush, the captain grabbed at another, more of a blue now, tinting the sky further with darkness, as if the night was passing upon the world. It was what he imagined the fourth division looked like from a distance, once the sun had gone down. The artificial lighting still flickering, as if it were the center of the division.

"You just don't understand, Kurenai," the blond laughed, as he continued further. It was only a matter of time before he was finished. He lacked foresight, and as such, he could only remain on standby, awaiting a crisis to occupy some time other than painting, and the incessant perfectionist nature of the spirit to critique each time he would begin.

Rilla walked up to the door of her Captains room, in one hand was a stack of filed and filled out papers, the other held a large cup of tea. A smile was on her face as usual, she was actually humming a little tune to herself. She had just finished the paperwork on the new members and decided to bring them to the Captain along with a drink. She knew how he got wrapped up in his work.

She stopped in front of his door, a slight frown came on her face. Her hands were full. Oh, well. Rilla shrugged.
"Captain, can you please open the door!?" She tried not to call out too loudly, keeping her voice sweet. She would be mortified if she had bothered her Captain. She was really hoping she hadn't, she didn't want to trouble him.

"So painting as usual eh Zetsuya?" Zaine inquired as he shunpo'd inside the office of the Fourth Division Taicho and walked up to the man as he painted the sky, "You know, I think you are missing the moon my friend, and are you and Kurenai bickering again?" he asked with a chuckle, sounding a bit like a hypocrite since the fights between himself and his spirits were common knowledge throughout the Sereitei.

"You know, these walls of yours should be absoultely covered with your works, yet aside from the splatters of paint and a few fresh canvas' that you are planning to use I don't see anything indicating you have kept any of your pieces, what do you do with them Zetsu?" he asked curiously, smirking a bit as he heard the somewhat timid tone of the man's Vice, "But my questions can wait, you have someone calling for you." he said slyly.

His work seemed to continue as usual, despite pleas for a moment. This was not something uncommon for the one track mind of the captain. His focus prevented him from stepping away right away, yet the door was opened and a quick glance from the blond witnessed the ever odd thirteenth division captain, Zaine Tsukioma. A quick critique from the man, and a quick gaze around him displayed his lieutenant, hands ever so full. Always such a busy person, she got things done at the very least.

"Oh Zaine, they are laying about," the captain replied with a grin, ignoring the comment of his argument with the spirit, "you walk right on in, and suddenly that phrase begins to apply. 'Everyone's a critic.'" There wasn't much else to do, as the brish was set upon another can, and the door was held open for the lieutenant.

"Forgive Zaine, he's a bit of a fool," the captain commented, as he awaited young woman to enter into the rather simplistic studio. Surely, the entire group which had entered into the room which belonged to Zetsuya had to wonder if he slept on the cans, "Welcome to the studio again, Rill. Business as usual?"

Rilla smiled and gave a small bow. She handed the cup of tea to her Captain as she stepped into the room. "If you say so, sir." She politely inclined her head, to the other Captain present. She really felt uneasy now, she always felt so stupid in the presents of her superiors.

She showed her Captain the stack of rather large papers. He never changes. Rilla sighed wearily. She enjoyed doing paperwork well enough, it was rather tiring though.
"Captain, have I ever come here not on business?" She asked raising an eyebrow. She could never recall such a thing happening. Rilla doubted such a thing could happen, she was all ways busy. Most of the times doing things that benefited other people, rather than herself. Speaking of which, maybe I should go see if I can find more work to do. She glanced, almost unwillingly to Zanie. She felt fine around just her Captain, any other Captains, she would rather face years of paperwork alone. She eyed the now very inviting door, wondering if she could make her escape.

"Well since you are busy Zetsuya, I suppose I should head back, good seeing you again my friend." Zaine said with a grin, "Don't do anything I wouldn't man, and take care not to get your clothes too messed up, you of all people know how hard it is to get paint stains outta clothing right?" the captain said with a nod before looking briefly to Rillia and giving her an easy smile, his expression saying that she needn't try to run away. "Well I guess I should be on my way, take care you two." Zaine said with a wave before exiting the room with a shunpo.

The cup of tea was something which seemed rather normal, and damn well was. He had already set the best he could do, considering his art was complete. The moon had never been a part of his painting in this case, and Zaine had simply assumed wrongly. A sip from the tea, and he smiled simply. The captain was departing already and they didn't have much else going on.

"It looks like it is just business," the captain answered absently, as Zaine was departing. The studio was no place to work, and considering the absence of the other captain, it was definitely time to work. A brief sigh, as he pulled upon a chord dangling from the ceiling, and a set of stairs descended. "So how do the newbies look, Rilla?" His emerald eyes looked upon his lieutenant a moment in curiosity, as he began to ascend to the second floor.

Rilla was slightly irritated by the departed Captains last words. She mentally shrugged it off, it was not in her nature to be bothered by such things. She began to relax the moment Zanie left, and she started to answer her Captains question. "The newbies? Well..." Her voice trailed off, her previous weariness returning.

She sighed, and slowly, almost timidly followed him. Rilla hesitated before speaking,
"Honestly, they could all use some more practice." She said, putting it down gently. They've got a long way to go that's for sure. She wouldn't say such things out loud, there was nothing more than she hated than insulting people. She glanced down at the papers in her hands, she had sorted through them again and again, and she still felt as if her Captain would find fault in her work. She mentally face-palmed, Your being silly.

"So... They aren't too great?" Zetsuya sighed a little. It looked like Rilla, as well as himself, would be working overtime in the practice ward. Nonetheless, it didn't mean much else aside from the usual, as chyudo could be rather complicated. It was somewhat of a relief that it was only the fourth division that happened to really move to work with chyudo. It left the captain with far more free time than one could have believed. The haori of his hung upon the bedpost in the corner, the neat attic like room/office combo was where most work went down. A small stack of paperwork sat complete upon one of two desks.

"So would you say we have to start with the basics again?" Zetsuya inquired, as he settled before one of the desks, the tea sitting itself before it, "How much of that is mine exactly?" A little more humor Trying to crack the rather tense atmosphere left behind by the other captain before departure.

Rilla almost laughed, almost. "Aren't too great, covers them perfectly, Captain" She said, with a smile. She had told the rookies that they needed to come even earlier tomorrow and expect to stay later. She rolled her eyes, You would think that they were expecting this to be easy or fun.

"Basics sounds fine." She agreed with ease. He acted as if paperwork was a chore, she smiled, eyes filled with eagerness. She loved doing paperwork, it made her fill..neat. She also knew that if she got it done, that the papers would be done right. She sat in the empty desk, almost as if were routine. when she heard his idea of humor, she rolled her eyes. "Not trying to weasel your way out of this, are you Captain?" She teased, her voice light. She reached for the papers, setting the ones she had brought with her in front of him. "Well, what I do know is that you have a lot of signatures to do." Rilla warned him, a twinkle in her eyes.

The atmosphere had slipped into a rather relaxed atmosphere now, which was something the captain preferred over the tense one left behind whenever another captain was about. Either way, on the morrow he'd be out of the studio and back down in the practice ward, dicing up gigai for the sake of the rookies' practice. It wasn't the most ideal way to begin a morning, but it was for the sake of the patients' safety.

Zetsuya grinned as his lieutenant began to tease. Unfortunately for him, that teasing had a underlying tone of business about it, and that meant one thing. The stack itself was for him. Fortunately for him, it seems the issue now laid upon the issue of signatures. The same thing again and again, just to sign off on the forms, the top form slipped from the stacks and with the brush nearby his name was sketched. Never quite that different, but not quite the same either. It kept things interesting punching one's name down repeatedly.

"Rilla, I have no idea what I would do without you... I think there'd be a lot of doodling," the captain laughed once more, "I think I might have to invest in one of those stamps. Remind me to get one of those next time we're there." It would definitely save time, and sounded rather promising. In the end though, he'd probably spend some time figuring out the way to create them, and make a rather large set to add to his collection of oddities.

Rilla smiled as she began filling out the forms that Zetsuya was actually supposed to be doing. She usually did end up doing the most of the paperwork anyway. He may have been an artist but Rilla's handwriting was so much better. She began to slowly enjoy the quite, with her Captain, paperwork was normally the most relaxing part of her day.

She blushed, when she realized what her Captain just said. Her cheeks maroon, she engrossed herself into the next paper.
"Nonsense, you'd do just fine without me. Your paperwork would be finished and turned in much later yes, and you would hear lots complaints on your handwriting...." She stop, and flushed again. I thought I was never going to mention that. Rilla quickly pulled out another sheet, and began writing in her elegant and legible scrawl, as she avoided looking at Zetsuya. Oops.

Each day it seemed to be the same thing. Once in a while, his own work, which primarily was to sign off on each form due to Rill's hard working nature. Fortunately, today wasn't one of those days where he drifted off into sketching. One could say the girl was one reason his pieces of work weren't seen by the public often. Often hunched over a desk scrawling over his forms, he'd found opportunities to scribble sketches and the like of the lieutenant. Granted, he'd done this with many of the officers which passed through the fourth division. It kept things from becoming simply landscape. Rill didn't seem to apt in receiving compliments, which only made the man chuckle more, despite the fact she'd unwittingly insulted her superior officer.

"Well... I do hear I've got quite the doctor's signature, I can only imagine the rest of the chicken scratch," Zetsuya replied, as if to reaffirm her position. It wasn't going to be an awkward moment, he wouldn't allow it. Yet another form slipped from the top of the stack, and scrawled upon it was the captain's signature. Nothing too complex, this time in a brighter shade of blue in this case. Maybe something red would do next?

Rilla shrugged off her embarrassment. She was not a shy person, she just knew her place. "Sorry, Captain that was out of turn." Her voice was soft, but not timid or ashamed. She handed him a small pile of ten or so papers that needed his signature and bits and pieces of information that Rilla did not know. She blinked, her eyes felt slightly heavy.

She scolded herself, I should have brought me some tea as well. Oh well, the Captain needed it more than me.
"I think your signature is fine, but that stamp idea would save some time." Rilla admitted, biting back a yawn. She sighed inwardly, she would be too tried to play her flute tonight. Her fellow officers had inspired her to make some new pieces, she had meant to try them tonight but now she was just too tried. Her flute playing, she hid from the other officers, it was her private joy. She liked only to be known as the person who would help out anyone if they needed it. She passed Zetsuya a few more papers, the stack seemed endless.
