Mahavir trotted along, humming a tune as he went. The days were still passing by in a summery haze, and he was happy with how pleasantly warm they had been. He felt even more joyful after having spent some pleasant time with a beautiful mare, that always bought a smile to his face. He hoped it wouldn't too long before the pleasure was repeated. He looked abouy as he went along, taking in not only the scenery but also on the lookout for anyone he could talk to.
He virtually skipped from grass patch to grass patch, occasionally kicking up dust when his hooves hit the sun dried earth. His nose caught an intriguing scent and for a while he had a direction, following the smell before coming across an apple tree, slowly ripening apples causing the branches to bow down.
He arched his neck, reaching up and sniffed at each fruit searching for one that was slightly soft as he liked them when they were overly ripe as they had a bit of a kick to them. He found one and grabbing it with his teeth pulled it from the branch, a few leaves drifting to the ground as he let the branch swing back. With apple in mouth he moved a small way from the tree and lowered himself to the floor to enjoy it.

Asiyah had been spending a lot of time in the desert lately. It was, after all, her home. However, the summer days were getting warmer all the time, and she felt it would be nice to take a break from the harsh desert sun.
She found herself in a field spotted with trees and ponds. Having come out of the dry heat, she thought it would be nice to get a drink of water. She made her way towards a small pond surrounded by a few trees. If she was lucky, these would be fruit bearing trees and she could treat herself to a snack as well as a drink. She quickened her gate to a trot, the tassels on her saddle bouncing against her side, and her bangles tinkling delicately.

Mahavir hiccupped quietly after finishing the apple, stretching his legs out in front of him and relaxing. It was nice here, even if he was appreciating the day on his own and his eyes became half-lidded as he started to get a little drowsy.
His ears flicked at one point as he lay there, swatting away an inquisitive fly with his tail and his eyes opened again, looking around (well as well as he could from his position). He was sure he'd heard a very very faint tinkling noise, but he couldn't see where it had come from. Should he get up and check properly? He got slowly to his hooves, shaking the dust from his belly and looked around again, sniffing the air as well this time.

As she trotted over to the patch she had picked up, she suddenly saw movement. She slowed down a bit, watching the thing in the distance. It appeared to be a Soquili, a stallion to be exact. She smiled and tossed her short mane to the side, disturbing the tassels on her saddle again. Resuming her trot, she made her way to the stallion, smiling, her eyes slightly closed. First impressions were everything.
The tinkling of the bangles around her ankle announced her again as she approached the stallion. As she got closer, she could see his markings. It appeared he was a desert dweller as well, or was at one point. She smiled and bowed her head low as she approached.
"Hello there, stranger. My name is Asiyah. Would you mind if I share the fruits of the land here with you?"
Her voice was deep and smooth, almost songlike. She raised her head with a small smile as she finished her request.

How wonderful! A lovely young mare, company at last. He returned her bow with one of his own, a leg extended before himself and the other folding as he bowed low to the ground.
'It is my pleasure to make your acquiatance Asiyah.' he said her name with small carress to his voice, taking the time to look her over fully as he straightened and stood again.
'Of course,' he said with a rogueish wink and a smile.
'I don't own them after all, and I'm sure I will enjoy your company. I am Mahavir.' he added, realising that for all his looks and initial flirting he'd yet to give his own name.

Her forelock fell over one of her eyes as she first turned to the small body of water and lowered her neck to take a drink. She sipped in the cool, sweet water, her tail swishing behind her. When she had had her fill, she raised her head again and made her way over to one of the fruit laden trees. As she craned her neck looking for the perfect apple, she spoke to the stallion.
"So, Mahavir, what brings you here today? Do you make your home around this spot, or are you here visiting, as I am?"
Finally finding the apple with the sweetest scent, she pulled her lips back over her teeth and plucked the apple from the branch, shaking the surrounding branches as the stem broke its hold from the tree.

'The summer sun.' he replied, having watched the mare take a drink in a most graceful way. He wondered if she knew how lovely she looked doing the most simple of things but felt that she must.
'I'm a sun seeker, and lay out in it quite often. As to this being my home, no, I don't really have one per se, I tend to follow where the sun goes.' Mahavir smiled at Asiyah.
'And you? Are you just passing through or is there somewhere near here that you call your own?'

As she munched on the apple, she spoke between mouthfuls.
"A sun seeker you say? That sounds like an interesting life. The sun shines all over the earth. There's no way you could possibly keep up with it."
She smiled and took another bite of the apple. When asked about her home she laughed lightly and tossed her forelock out of her face.
"I have no home. I was born in the deserts and was always on the move. I found myself in these lands not too long ago, but still haven't settled down in one place. Its not in my nature to stay in the same place."
She finished the last few bites of the apple and kicked the core to the side.

Mahavir laughed.
'It's more of a seasonal movement thing, I'm like the birds and migrate to follow the sun when it become cold in these parts.' he shuddered lightly at the mere thought of the chilly months that lay ahead at the closing of the year.
'Sounds like myself then.' he said with a faint smile. 'So no family then, no faithful and loving mate?' he asked with a little cheeky wink.
He watched as she finished the apple and discarded the core. 'Litter bug..' he teased.

"Ah, indeed, the cold can be quite miserable"
She smiled at him when he asked about her family, or lack thereof. He was clearly flirting with her, so why shouldn't she flirt a little in return.
"Oh, no, I have no loving mate. I'm all alone. Not that I mind it much. Though it does get lonely at times."
She smiled and lowered herself to the ground, laying beneath the apple tree. When he commented on her apple core, she giggled a bit.
"Oh, you're welcome to it if you like. Though it's hardly litter. I'm sure a raccoon will come upon it as a pleasant surprise sometime in the night."

Of course he was flirting with her, he hadn't been rendered blind and he thought she was very pretty indeed. Mahavir nodded.
'I'm the same, no lovely mares at my side, which is a shame, I like to appreciate pretty things. But I can be content with my own company if I have to..I'd just prefer not to.' he said with another wink.
'Hmm, I think I'll let one of natures cleaners pick that up if it's okay with you m'lady?' he said, trying to look perfectly serious as he said it but failed.
'So are you planning on sticking around this area for a while, or will you be taking your leave fairly soon?'

She smiled and tossed her forelock out of her face. A few stubborn strands fell back down into her eye, but she ignored them.
"Well, I've been walking most of the day, so I think I'll probably stay here for a while. It's nice and cool under this tree, and plenty of food and drink to last for a while."
She smiled and shifted her legs beneath her.
"And the company's not bad, either. Will you be staying for a while?"
She smiled up at him playfully.

'Oh I might, I might.' Mahavir smiled, and joined her on the ground after watching her arrange herself on the floor, he figured she was getting comfortable, and if they were to continue talking than he would do the same.
'What else occupies your time when you are not travelling, or just simply gracing the world with your lovely features?' he asked with a chuckle, laying it on thickly he knew, but he was determined that this would be one mare that wouldn't slip from his radar and never be seen again.
