Personality: Zetsuya is a rather outspoken individual, and an upholder of laws. He tends to look at anything with a logical point, making sure to know loopholes time and again to work more freely. He and Kurenai tend to be quite similar, in the fact that they can be quite obsessive in their work, and despite being a law enforcer, he'd quite the liberal minded spirit, thinking rather freely, moving to wherever he would choose. Quite often, he can be found painting portraits of people, or even the landscape and architecture. Simply put, single minded, adherent to his justice, and stubborn.

Physical Description: Zetsuya is a rather tall individual, around the size of six feet, though there isn't much to his bones, leaving him a rather scrawny individual. When on the plane of humans, he tends to dress in loose flowing clothing,

Zanpaku-to Spirit: Kurenai Unpitsu appears as a young female (perhaps fourteen or fifteen), covered in multiple shades of paint, crimson just being sort of a base for it all, as her eyes are, as well as her raven hair is streaked with, crimson. The garments the spirit may be found in seem to fluctuate as freely as the paint which is spattered upon her. Her personality is one of play and wonder, rather than putting her nose to the grindstone.
Zanpaku-to Inner World: The inner world of Zetsuya is one settled within the mountains, settled peaceably with materials all over. Paints seem to grow from the trees, sap oozing, plants always ready for creating shades and tones of colors. The plants seem to vary on how dark they are, as well as the overcast skies raining or not, depending upon his mood.
Shikai: Azukari, Kurenai Unpitsu! [Draw, Crimson Brush Strokes!]
Essentially, the blade all but vanishes in regards to the zanpakuto, while the hilt becomes the basis. Its gray/silver sheen becomes that which is an simple brush. As expected of such a zanpakuto, the "kashira hair" becomes more full, the zanpakuto becoming a slightly larger than normal brush. The true ability in the rather mundane shikai in appearance, it maintains an ability to draw forth that which lies in ruin and nothingness. Kurenai Unpitsu is used to alter that which is in reality through art.
Shikai Techniques:
- Kakuheki - (Barrier Wall)
Using the strokes of the brush, Zetsuya may work on creating a binding barrier, or a defensive wall to block an attack. However, due to Kurenai Unpitsu's need for perfection, one may not just use a symbol for it, one must move at extreme speeds, although it must also be used delicately to form the wall. Typically, it takes one post to form this wall, therefore it's used more as support.
- Supea (Spear)
One of the offensive abilities of Kurenai Unpitsu, the user must paint a spear. Variations of spears may be created, and usually rest within the air, for either the painter to grab, or stockpile. Painting of spears can be roughly around two spears in a post, although spears may also be broken by the opponent.
- Supea Akisame (Spear Autumn Rain)
The key offensive ability of Kurenai Unpitsu's shikai state. After much preparation and stock piling, requiring a minimum of five painted spears (which means a minimum of three posts of preparation), the spears seem to vanish into the air, randomly being thrown from varying angles at the foe, which are subject to change due to the user's dictation.
- Kaji (Faith Healing)
The power which made the shinigami so valuable in the fourth squad, the ability to heal wounds through art. It was dependent upon his reitsu reservesm thus when he was using it earlier on, he could only maintain kaji enough to heal cuts and whatnot. Should something be broken however, this ability will not be capable to fix that. As Zetsuya developed, the abilities were taken further to the ability to replace limbs lost, however this is dangerous for it can't be in a state of being healed over. The wound can be treated so far as to minimize bleeding beforehand, but not much else.
Bankai: Kurenai Unpitsu no Shusseigun - (Crimson Brush Strokes of the Field Army)
This is where things take a turn for the more odd. Rather than adjusting the brush, the brush of the shikai dissipates completely and each of the shinigami's fingers become the brushes, long hairs flowing from the very tips, while canvas begins to drift about him. A rather large canvas, which appears blank, however to bring that which is meager and small into the world was the state of the shikai but through the use of one or someone else's lifeblood to animate creatures and far more intriguing things.
- Tennin - (Heavenly Being)
Tennin is the main technique for this particular bankai, allowing the painter to begin to draw forth heavenly creatures which will work to support, fight with and defend their creator. Each has a power equal to an unseated officer normally. One may be brought forth after one post. These typically tend to be on par with a lower seated officer.
- Kuchibi Tennin (Fuse Heavenly Being)
Kuchibi Tennin is to be used when the painter does not believe a small army of tennin may work against their foe. A minimum of three tennin may be combined to raise power to that of a higher seated officer, though the other tennin seem to waver in offensive mindset then, moving towards a more defensive take on their painter, while Kuchibi moves on the offensive. Another two posts are required to fuse them, and an additional post for adding more power onto the creature.
- Busou (Armament)
A technique utilized by the shinigami to create a weapon for him to use, provided the tennin fail to achieve anything truly of worth. The technique takes longer, should the shinigami choose to create something more intricate than a sword or simple weapon.
- Zenkai (Complete Recovery)
Zenkai is an ability which utilizes the reality altering abilities of the zanpaku-to to begin to healing of up to three shinigami (or allies of his choosing), almost as if they were being brought back in after time to recover. It is the most bizarre feeling for those affected, for they will not feel the dissipation of wounds, but rather their strength is restored over the period of time while it rejuvenates them. This typically leaves the captain drained, thus leaving it as a last resort. Takes roughly five posts to actually perform.

Covers the wound in a thin layer of protective coating, this is a clear coating. The size of the wound makes this harder or easier, for a small cut being able to do this would be as easy as a wave of the hand over a wound, however for a larger gash down the torso you'd have to first stop the bleeding before bandaging up a wound like this.

Used to Sterilize items such as Silk/Thread, surgery items, and other things that might not be too clean and need to be made usable for surgery... can also be used to sterilize hands. remember when washing for surgery you want to clean all the way up to the elbow.

Reveal Sight (Hireki Joukei)
The eyes are one of the few parts of the body that do not regenerate on their own, and if the eye no longer functions due to a problem with the nervous system this will not help that. However if you have become blinded because of a flash or a liquid/gas forced into your eyes this will clean that out and allow you to see once again.

Clamp (Kasugai)
The ability to use Chiyudo to hold shut an open blood flow to stop blood from seeping out into the area that is currently being operated on. Can be used to hold down larger things too, Comedic medics have been known to use it as a paper clip, though this was not its original purpose...

Literally the ability to heal an external wound, This cannot effect internal and is done for the purpose of healing cuts and injuries, the greater the user the better a bad wound can be healed.

One of the rare Chiyudo that has actually been used to kill someone...
Suction was created for the purpose of removing blood, or other liquids from inside the body well doing meatball surgery without the proper equipment. Skilled Chiyudo users have been known to be able to use this, as well as a number of other Chiyudo to perform an operation solo without any equipment. However this technique has been used by a Medic to absorb the liquids right out of a person's body causing them to die of dehydration.

In using this technique the spiritual healing energy of the two are combined making the first persons healing ability increase 3 fold.

An energy that can be used to modify a persons mood slightly, Not in a completely different way than Morphine or Dopamine make a person happier and feeling better this kido brings pleasant feelings into their body making them more manageable as a patient.

Creates a spirit-like blood flow, you can direct it into the blood stream of the person injured in front of you, This will help for anyone who is seriously loosing blood as it makes up for any Blood-type difference, however it is a seriously draining skill, it uses as much energy kido twice its level. The fake blood only lasts for five minutes so it needs to be a constant flow of someone using this technique, and thus can become even more energy restrictive.

Slowly stretches out and cellularly regenerates skin cells to overlap a burn wound to repair it. Taking healthy skin cells from another part of the body.

This Technique Requires Three people, the first, the main healer gets into position, the other two stand or kneel behind, well making contact with the shoulders, the person on the left should be touching the left shoulder, and the same in the other way, only one hand, the other should be in a half meditative position, as if performing the sign of the cross. In using this technique the spiritual healing energy of all three are combined making the first persons healing ability increase 6 fold.

Restores the deafened and possibly broken eardrums of a person This technique will restore any temporary effects that may result in a loss of hearing. If used by a master-class Healer over a long term it could also be used to restore a person who has gained permanent deafening.

Injects a type of false Iron Vitamin into the body allowing for the metabolism to gain traction. This Can also be used to extract iron to ether increase or decrease the metabolism. This technique isn't likely to be used for any reason other than forcing a higher metabolism on someone with a low metabolism, or to create an instainly high one where you can keep eating food and never gain weight allowing your body to gain high amounts of energy and keep your spiritual abilities at the top of their potential.

Reverses the effect of frost burn often allowing a limb to remain attached and restoring the blood flow towards it. This Takes time and is a very strenuous process.

Send small electrical pulses through a nervous system Ether for the purposes of temporarily shorting out the nerves to remove pain, or for longterm nerve repair treatment. This sends a pulse of Reitsu through the body. It a diagnostic device, used to locate areas of inflammation, and sickness. It's main purpose is not normally pathogenic illness, but rather poisons.

This kido normally follows up Shinryou, above. The Reitsu sinks into an area infected by a poison, and generates powerful enzymes that help the body attack and dissolve harmful bacterias. After the job is done, the enzymes will be filtered and removed by the body.

When an effect forces the person to be paralyzed Their are several different ways of curing it, You can use anti-poison kido to get rid of a paralyzing poison, Nerve restoration kido to stop the tightening of the muscles. However if the person is paralyzed because of a kido spell than this is a technique to remove it. This isn't a make all break all of Bakudo, it will only effect non-physical bakudo, so any where an item has been summoned to halter movement such as pillars straps etc will be rejected.

Repair Insides (ripea naibu)
Enhanced version of Chiyudo #5 that allows for internal wounds to be healed. It takes hours for a single item to be regenerated, as such multiple users should be working on one person, this Chiyudo is able to be performed to better aid transplants as well, making sure the new and old organs go together without error, excluding blood type differences of course. It can be used to SLOWLY grow back internal wounds... but that is a last option, anyone who only knows this much kido should take the patient to a higher rank.

This kido sinks Reitsu into a fractured or broken bone. It is a kido that takes time to work, even for more experienced users. It numbs the area, then begins to heal, for repairing of bones is a painful process. If a shinigami is not skilled with the technique, it can be seriously painful on the receivers side.

Attach (kuttsukeru)
To Attach This Kido is used to re-attach limbs, that have been separated from the body a short period ago. If this procedure is started fast enough, even detached limbs can be re-applied. This can be as simple as a tooth to a finger, to a leg or an arm. It works by reattaching nerve cells and blood vessels in the damage area, with the force of a binding sort of Reitsu.

A Kido used to restore a person's expended Spiritual abilities, this Kido repairs very slowly the effects of Spiritual loss of power that has been expelled during battle, or by fighting off illness. Though it isn't for a battle-scenario as it takes a good bit of time to heal someone in this manner.

When a person is in such a state of fright their body can go into a state of shock, this is not good for a number of reasons. However this technique takes that and makes it so that the state of shock is simply just a passed out state like a deep sleep, no the technique is not instantaneous as no Chyudo is but it is one of the quicker abilities.

Reiatsu soaks into the body and phases through the skin. It is coined, "Phantom operation" by those who use it, as it allows one to bypass the layer of skin, blood, and sometimes even muscle, to get to the damaged area. This technique requires sound background knowledge and concentration, to mend tissue and blood vessels that would be impossible to get to in any other way.

Heal the Inflamed (Chiyubo-Kizutogame)
Often a wound will not be properly treated on the battlefield, after one returns for treatment in the hospital they may have several infected areas inside of the wound that are too massive to heal with simple techniques, This Chiyudo focuses on healing the inflamed wounds that have been infected with things such as gang green, etc.

Bio:
Borne in fourteen hundred and twenty AD, the boy was brought into the world as Sigmund L. Gottfrey. A simple son of an apothecary, life had pretty much been consumed by his training into the family business. A simple run from the age of four to eighteen, that was all that was expected of him. Study. We don't want anyone dying now, do we? A mantra which was constant in his life as he studied, however one day a traveling bard passed by with a small caravan of unique outcasts. Artists painting that which the common church goers frowned upon, and yet Sigmund was fascinated and by sunrise the next day, he was off with this caravan of outsiders. Despite studying the ways to paint, he continued to practice in medicine, attempting new things.
Another couple of years passed by in this caravan, when a small village was passed by in the caravan, when they began to grow restless. Witch hunters and disease were rampant in the small village, never a good combination. Yet the optimistic Sigmund stepped from the caravan, knowing there was a chance he'd never return, as he began to attempt to treat those who were ill. Sickly enough, angles from each end, being the only one there treating them in an unfamiliar way began to brew trouble. No chance for trial, those who he had treated were terminal. They'd had no chance, but while he had eased their pain, this only incriminated the traveler more. not even following procedure, he was strung upon the gallows by the end of the week. Oddly enough, he condemned not a single one. Of faith, he merely smiled, upon the faces of the villagers whom had lost their family shortly after the touch of the 'witch.' Then everything went dark for a while.
Life for Zetsuya in the rukongai was fairly mundane and of little consequence for him before being pulled into the academy. That life had been a constant blur of struggling, his only anchor being his "sister" whom had been his support while he struggled to get into the academy.
After entry, it hadn't been much at the beginning. He had a talent for kido it seemed, though he tended to favor use of bakudo. His skills seemed to increase exponentially, having been chosen to go along with a squad to the human world. One of the four people in his class who had been chosen, and moved. It seemed that it had been a rather... plain trip, according to the third seat who had come along, but not for him, nor the others from his class. They'd never approached a hollow, and with the orders of the seated officer, the four of them found the pride in slaying a hollow.
It had turned out though, that this third seat had chosen the four of them, to welcome a pair into the Gotei 13. Division second at the time, though later on, when his shikai became apparent, he was relocated... elsewhere as a seated officer. At the time, he had become the fifth seat of the fourth division. Not much real pull. Not like the higher ranks, but he continued to work at it. He'd worked in secret on reaching the next state. Over the next five years, he worked constantly when he wasn't running errands, achieving the bankai at an incredible rate. Just to be safe, he bode his time, awaiting the day he'd take the captaincy test.
That took nearly another fifteen years. It was time though. Before the Captain-General, as well as another pair of captains, he performed. The canvas was painted and a sample of his abilities were made present. With that, Zetsuya succeeded his former captain, and with much debate it seemed, he had been accepted. That was all nearly a century and a half ago.
