Chochokpi was cloud watching from a large open field, his blue fur was brilliant in the day's sunlight and flopping down in the grass did little to hide him. He flicked his large bushy tail back and forth, cloud shaped white fluffs of fur looking odd through the sun aged tendrils of yellow green that made up the field. His mind was lost amongst the sky, each fluffy cotton candy shaped cloud spiraling throughout his imagination as it went from a crouching rabbit to a whale to a ship to some bizarre three headed unicorn. It was blissful for him.

Although as was fate, moments of bliss were oft interrupted. And Chochokpi was about to find himself with company. Whether he wanted it or not.

From a short distance away a loud wail was let out, all the wonderful shapes and beautiful woods surrounding Melody were just so peaceful and nice and… and! “Wahhh!” Another loud wail was heard as Melody cried harder, there was just so much beauty in the world it made all of the emotions in Melody clench and burst through tears. Bringing her tail up to her face Melody did her best to try and compose herself, whipping her face gentle Melody chanced a glance back to the sky.

“It’s so beautiful!” And another wail was heard as Melody’s emotions got the best of her. Angrily wanting nothing to do with her emotions Melody quickly went from sad to mad.

If he hadn't had fur, one might have seen all the color drain from the male upon hearing the loud wail. He thought at first it might just be the weirdest bird call ever until he heard another one. He crouched down further, blue eyes flicking towards the sky in search of angry or forlorn gray clouds that would signal a thunderstorm. Only there wasn't any, only perfect white clouds for miles.

He practically tried to bury himself in the grass when he heard words, mistaking it for another wail. He had clenched his eyes tight and now as his mind made sense of the words, he slowly peeked out to see if he could see anyone. It took him a moment longer to realize he wasn't going to be seeing much of anything if he kept cowering.

Flicking his ears back, he got up and pranced in a circle to figure out where the wailing was coming from. Once he figured it out, or rather exhausted most of the other options, he marched like a chameleon towards the source of all the commotion. He expected to see--well, he wasn't sure what he expected to see. Certainly not a pretty blue female with tears soaking her furry cheeks.

"Y-you, you're loud!" he stated as he rose from his crouch. His ears flicked forward and he ducked his head in embarrassment. Charm was certainly lacking when it came down to it.

Too busy trying to deal with her emotions Melody took in a deep breath doing her very best to calm down, it was so difficult being emotional, so horribly difficult. And within another second Melody was crying because she didn’t have control of her emotions, it was an endless circle of her crying maybe if she cries enough she won’t have any tears left in a few years and she’ll finally be able to be around others!

Suddenly a noise distracted her from her wailing and brought her attention to another, ‘Oh no, I’m not ready to be around others!’ Biting her bottom lips Melody could feel more tears start up again as she took in the male kit. He was quite pretty really, like the clouds above her that change and shift and… and… ‘Have control of their emotions!’

Biting harder on her bottom lip Melody didn’t wail, until that is she heard what the male had said about her. ‘I’m loud?’ At first Melody’s chin started to shake from sadness, all she wanted to do was watch the clouds and not cry!

Tears fell quickly from her eyes, but before long her sadness turned to rage.

You try being so sensitive and quiet at the same time!

All right so he probably should have expected to be snapped at, what with so comment so far from understanding or nice. Instead he whacked himself quite forcefully with his own tail as he attempted to hide from the extremely over emotional girl. He shook his head and peered at her from around his tail wondering just what he was supposed to do.

"I, I just meant-" he screwed up his face. Well he'd meant precisely what he'd said. She was loud. Although perhaps he could have said it in a nicer way. He sighed.

"Well what are you so sensitive about?" he asked, deciding maybe if he could get to the root of the problem-- Actually he didn't have a clue what that would do. He'd have to wing it.

Quickly Melody’s growl turned into a frown, it just looked like the blue guy was trying to help her… That was nice. Suddenly once again Melody could feel her chin start to shake, ‘No! I can do this…’ Taking a deep breath to calm herself down Melody smiled. Biting her bottom lip Melody did her best to control what she could of her emotions.

“T-this time?” Glancing to the sky Melody gazed longingly at the beauty of it all, then glanced back at the male before her. He was the same as the sky… She could feel her lip start to tremble again.

“The s-sky!” And with that wail another round of tears poured out of her eyes, ‘This isn’t fair! Some one’s talking to me and I’m crying…’ And thoughts like that just made her want to cry harder.

Chochokpi watched as she frowned wondering what in the world would happen next. He took a step back when she was hopefully not paying attention should she decided she was angry with him, again. The further away he was, the more likely he was to dodge any attack.

He scrunched his brow up as she seemed to look from him to the sky and back. He chanced looking up himself, watching a lazy white cloud go by, wondering what her problem was. Although once she admitted it was the sky, he was even more confused. What in the world was there about the sky to be so sensitive? It wasn't raining or thundering, not a speck of lightning flashing about, or a streak of gray mutinous cloud.

Part of him very much, wanted to use the tears as cover to get the heck away. He even made to take another step back but then he looked at her, absolutely pitiful. He hung his head, walking forward to sit beside her before reaching out tentatively and patting her furry back awkwardly with one paw. It might have been more of a thumping as though she had something stuck in her throat but he was trying.

"Um, what's wrong with the sky?" He didn't get it, at all. Maybe this is what they meant when he'd heard that females spoke a different language!

Slowly Melody was able to take a short breather calming herself down before looking to the beautiful male again; he looked just like the sky. Suddenly Melody could feel her chin tremble again, why was everything so beautiful! Gulping down the sadness Melody bit down hard on her lip making sure to stop her trembling for just a bit at least.

Nodding to the sky Melody looked back up at the deep blues and the wonderful whites, and the changing puffy clouds. Surprisingly this time Melody didn’t want to cry she just wanted to stare at it, but then she could feel something against her back. Glancing over her shoulder this male shocked her with his comforting paw patting on her back.

“It’s just…” Looking back to the male Melody smiled, tears leaking out of the side of her eyes, “It’s so beautiful…” Not a wail but a silent cry, ‘At least I’m not as loud as before… That’s good.’ Maybe after all the years of doing her best to get control of her sensitivity she was finally relaxing… A little tiny bit.

“I’m s-s-sorry…” Bringing her tail up to her face Melody whipped her face again.

He tilted his head to the side, the sky was beautiful but that was hardly any reason to cry. "Ri-right." He thought it over but it still didn't make any sense. "You're crying because it's beautiful?" his ears flicked back as his paw stilled on her back. Females definitely didn't make sense.

He gave a resigned sigh, it was too late to run away screaming (or even just slink away). From any other, he would've nodded his head at the apology and gone back to his cloud watching. With this one, he had a feeling she might not take that very well. He almost wanted to pout because it was such a perfect day to gaze upward.

"Um, it's okay," he nodded his head. "I'm Chochokpi. What's your name?" he introduced himself, hoping that changing the conversation would do the female some good. Plus it'd be good to know her name.

Looking to the blue male Melody couldn’t help but frown further his gaze thick with tears and sadness, choking on a sob Melody shoved her face into her tail. Hiding away Melody realized that the male was being nice, even helpful and wasn’t running away from her! Biting her lip Melody whipped her face for the third time and tried to compose herself.

“I-I’m Melody.” A sob slipped out while melody tried to introduce herself, taking a few more deep breaths Melody couldn’t help but smile at the realization that he hadn’t left.

“Y-you’re really going to stay?” Letting go of her tail Melody wailed it happily as she took in the male, he was kind of cute very bold with his markings but still cute! But then Melody realized he looked just like the sky, ‘That means he’s probably here to gaze at it…

“I’m sorry… Do you want me to leave you to your gazing?” Gesturing to the sky Melody could feel her sadness come back just as swiftly as it left.

His ears flattened back as she told him her name, the sob a bit startling. It was a pretty name though part of him thought it didn't fit her at all. "That's a nice name." Any more comments were cut off as she asked if he was going to stay.

"Y-yeah?" he answered, hesitant to commit to such but deciding there wasn't really any other he could give. Besides she wasn't too terrible to be around now that she was being a little quieter and not wailing like a banshee.

Glancing up at the bright sky, he very nearly told her he would. But then he had said he was going to stay. The tip of his tail quivered in contemplation. "We could watch the clouds together?" he suggested. That would fulfill both his word to stay and his want to cloud watch.

Smiling Melody could feel herself brighten at the mention of her name being nice, she knew it didn’t match her at all but she was named after a friend who was also very sensitive. Biting her lip Melody did her best to not cry or become too sensitive at the realization that this random male might stay with her!

She might make a friend! Her tail wagged happily as her ears perked, this was so interesting! She never had the chance to get a friend before, “Oh!” The suggestion of gazing at something so beautiful WITH something so beautiful was so… Beautiful!

Melody’s smile never wavered though as she lay down onto the ground getting comfortable before staring up at her new friend, she was tempted to say something maybe even ask Chochokpi to lay next to her but her emotions couldn’t deal with the rejection if he said no.

“Thank you.” But that doesn’t mean she can be rude about such an invitation.

Chochokpi settled down near Melody, tail lazily swishing against the grass as he tilted his head up to look at the clouds. He rested his chin on his paws, mumbling a somewhat belated, "you're welcome" as he lost himself in the morphing shapes of white.

Sighing Melody stretched out against the grass yawning as she got lost in the oddities of the changing clouds, “You know you look a lot like those clouds.” Another thing Melody didn’t like about herself was that she talked a lot.

Sensitive, talkative, loud and emotional, yep that’s Melody on a nutshell.

Looking down at his bright blue pelt scattered with fluffs of white, he had to agree. It was probably why he enjoyed looking at the clouds so much, the resemblance made him think the sky was home.

He turned his attention back to the female, "I know. My name means Throne for the Clouds, after all." It didn't strike him that it would be hard for her to know that, not until after he'd said it. He hid his momentarily lapse by scratching his ear, pretending an insect was annoying him with it's buzzing. He hoped his paw in mouth disease wasn't permanent.
