This is a Thread for Anime. Big shock. However, any anime lover knows how perverted Anime is at times, as well as how Bloody and Gory and Intestines-on-the-floor-y it can get. So, please follow these simple rules when talking about your Favorite Anime:
1) All pictures must be PG-13. That refers to both Violence and Sexuality. If in doubt, use your best Judgment. Depending on the violation of these, you will receive either a warning or an instant ban. I'm not joking here. Watch it. 2) Do not flame any anime to the point of excess. It's fine if you don't like something. Don't annoy us with your dislikiness. 3) Be nice. I mean, Come on. 4) No yaoi or yuri ANYTHING. That includes plots, pictures, and pair-ups. Just don't go there. (FTR, this is to make absolute sure that no one gets offended to any significant degree.) 5) If you want to reference a Meme, know that it doesn't have to be an anime meme. Anything from the 'Net, and therefore from the otaku world, is fine. Videogames, too. 6) I reserve the right to add rules and delete posts as necessary.
So, now that the rules are out of the way, Let's talk ANIME!
As a conversation starter, what are your favorites? For me, I'd definitely say Eureka 7. Beautiful Animation with occasionally quirky characters, who always come through in the end. Add in a winding plot with plenty of twists, and an epic romance, and es mi favorito. Oh, and Mechs. I <3 Mecha. http://daikazoku.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/eureka-281.jpg http://images.businessweek.com/ss/06/04/anime/image/psalms-of-planets-eureka-se.jpg

Just to contribute, even with my small knowledge of anime, I used to watch Ruroni Kenshin(Spell Check?) on Adult swim. I thought it was awesome.

Rurouni Kenshin was pretty rock, but I am a fan of Bleach. I also enjoy One Piece from time to time. But nobody can compare with classic DBZ (for those of you who dont know what DBZ is, a:go look up every episode and watch it, and b:its Dragon Ball Z)

Youtube search Gary's mod DBZ. Funny stuff right there.
I liked the first 3 episodes of Naruto. After that it got annoying. Big fan of DBZ, though. Loves me some Furuba, Hellsing, Berzerk, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Cat, Chrno Crusade, the list goes on and on.

I got really into Bleach, but living where I do, which is like an anime lover's nightmare, I had to go off the internet to continue it as far as I did. I think.... Ep# 120 something? I was watching it on Vevo until one day I went to watch and it was all gone. Shitty break for me.
Fullmetal Alchemist gave me chills I thought it was so awesome. And I cried more then once.Even as old as I am I would give up anything to be in that universe, magic and science, ugh <3 I've seen the movie, which wasn't too bad, but what I really want to see is Brotherhood.
I'm more interested in the art then anything. I wish I got more into it when I was younger, 'cause now I don't have the same amount of time to spend watching it and sticking with the story. And I have extremely picky tastes when it comes to what I watch. If I find a flaw I can't ignore I usually drop the show right there. Or if the romance is just... pathetic. Like Inuyasha and Kagome, Naruto, Sakura and Saske, and the DN Angel show. Loved the manga of it, hated the show.
And Kenshin is a p***y. >>

I was into reading Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece in Shonen Jump, but then I moved and can't find a place that sells them. Also I don't know what chapters I left off at because I wasn't really paying attention.

On the subject of the art: I like mangas better than anime.
On the subject of FMA: Brotherhood
I loved Inuyasha, til I just got frustrated with the repetition. Same with Naruto. Just too much back and forth same old BS.

No problem wink
Also, narutowire has the best links to anime shows. Brotherhood isn't on there yet, but yeah I'm doing the same thing. Just watching through FMA again now, since I never saw the end of the show and I haven't watched the rest of it in years.
Oh, blinkx is good for finding anime, and so is tvduck. Both have links to narutowire for most of the shows. Just some useful information.
Also...you should watch Black Cat. I think you would like it. Though, the manga's storyline would be more your taste I think, the anime is good too.

Inuyasha was awesome up until Inuyasha fully unlocked the strength of his Tessaiga, and like, a season after. Then... it was dead to me. It didn't have the same flare anymore.
The movies I've seen weren't bad, since they usually had their own storylines separate from the show.
Oh, and you know what always annoyed me when I watched anime? The joke episodes. Like, when they'd be building up great tension, then just break the story by having... a joke episode. You know what I mean? Annoying as ******** when you start to get into it and then all of a sudden you go from watching the hero who just discovered a new ability to defeat the villain who was whooping his a**, and the next episode is about a character who hasn't been involved going on this random, unimportant adventure that has nothing to do with the storyline (usually). If these episodes had a continuing storyline, like, a subplot all it's own, I'd be fine with it, but I don't feel like watching a possessed stuffed tiger being chased around down by children and animals, only to have him end up at the school with typical anime schoolgirls he wants to grope, and then proceeds to try, fails many times, then more chasing by the same animals back home when I want to see the orange haired guy with the black sword kick the s**t out of the pink petal summoning guy.
MAN, I've wanted to say that for a while.

lol Yeah, I always hated that too. What sucks too is when it's the main characters. THey're all "OMG I'm so stressed, let's take a day and do something fun"...and you're like, "Aren't you on a tight schedule to destroy the fire kingdom or something? WTF are you doing throwing a dance party for?" Or some dumb s**t like that.
Avatar. The anime, NOT the stupid movie with blue people. It's one of my guilty pleasures. But they spend most of that show straying from a plotline. Which sucks, but at the same time at least they finish battles in one episode, sometimes two, instead of draggint them out for five episodes. -.-;
