Out of the blue you receive a strange flier, either in your daily mail, or on the hood of your vehicle while you are in town. The flier is very odd. The red glitter doesn't seem to shine like glitter, but to shimmer like star dust, and ink seems to swirl between black and teal even as you read it.

Rides! Games! Food! Its all here just like the flier said it would be. Right in the middle of it all there is a massive Farris wheel, while rides are on one side, and booths of games on the other. down the middle there are tables and canopy s for shade with food stalls in between.
Everything from the tilt-a-wirl and human bullet, to phony rides and bumper cars. If the ride exists, it seems to be at this fair.
The games range from the simple to the more difficult. Dunk a clown, win a fish, or shoot a basket ball. Show off your strength at the malt and hammer, or marksmanship at the B.B. stall or darts.
The food is all hot and greasy fair food goodness, but there are also fresh fruit and vegetable stands.

Cassie, Chris and Fiona walked down the street, the young herald with and adult on either side. Fiona skipped along between Cassie and Chris, happy as could be in her little orange sun dress and sneakers. They were going to a fair with rides, so she had sliding shorts on under her dress just to be on the safe side.
"Oh momma! Chris look it look it! That Ferris wheel is the biggest I've ever seen!"
Cassie chuckled and Chris asked, a little confused "Isn't that the first you've seen?"
Fiona made a face at Chris, and Cassie laughed a bit more. "Are you makin fun of me Miss Chris?"
"Aw come on kiddo, you know I wasn't. And I'm Miss again? she made a sad face
Cassie was really laughing now. It made her very glad that the two got along so well. They reached the entrance of the fair and paid their way in, and got bracelets so they could ride all the rides they wanted too. The two adults wore jeans, Cassie in her usual long sleeved dress shirt, and Chris in a t-shirt. Fiona pulled them along chattering about everything she wanted to do. But then stopped and looked at Cassie and asked,
"Do you really think there will be lots of heralds like me here?" it had been a long time since they had run into anyone else like fiona
"I don't know sweety, we might."

"Sheldon, you've got to be kidding me."
The clacks of heeled feet followed by the appearance of a large feathered embodiment maneuvered back and forth behind the large booth. A young girl's arms were folded over her bosom with her index finger tapping impatiently as she moved to and fro. She was obviously not happy. Not happy, at all.
"Sheldon, just look at me!" the young girl bellowed, picking up the hem of the feathered dress and spreading it outward. "I look like something a blue jay puked up!"
Grazie's outfit was something to indeed . . . marvel at. She was blue from headdress to her feet, shimmering in a myriad of blue from the glitter that speckled her entire outfit. Sheldon just chuckled, cards pluming from his hand as he shuffled them amidst the air.
"Oh Grazie, stop complaining!" he laughed. "You're my showgirl. As a showgirl, you're suppose to be flashy and wonderful! So stop being so grumpy and smile. You'll have fun, promise."
The blond haired man was costumed in a magician outfit, top hat, cape, and all. With one hand, he sweeped cards up his sleeve and with another, juggled two balls. Grazie just rolled her eyes. Why did she ever agree to this anyway?
"Because, you need to make some friends." spoke Sheldon.
The herald just rolled her eyes again. She had to remember to keep her private thoughts private . . . however that could be done around her guardian seems impossible however. Suddenly, the cards within Sheldon's sleeve sputtered out like a dozen droplets from a sprinkler and onto the booth's table. The juggler balls dropped to the floor, rolling away from the magician as he tried to gather everything.
"Playing fifty-two pick up a little early, Sheldon?" questioned Grazie, wings extended when she moved her fisted hands to her hips.
Sheldon just laughed and continued to gather the cards. "Go get the balls for me?" he asked, smiling. "I've got this under control."
"Guh, fine." scoffed Grazie. She made her way towards the path and began searching. Where the heck did those balls go?
"They probably rolled down the path, Grazie." called Sheldon.
Grazie just rolled her eyes again and followed the pavement downwards. Really. He was only a human. He really had to stop doing that, it's annoying.

Fiona was looking at a booth when something caught her attention, a ball had hit her foot, and she spotted another one trying to roll away down the incline. She took a few steps to grab it and looked around
Cassie, being ever watchful of Fiona, looked up from the jewlery she was looking at to ask, "Whats up Fiona?"
"I found these balls, but I don't see any games around here."
Chris looked up as well then around and pointed to the blue feathers, bobbing through the people up hill a little,
"Those look like the balls clowns use, they may belong to that."
Fiona couldn't see, she was too short, but then she got one of those feelings. They were rare because she had hardly met any other heralds, but as Grazie in her blue plumage game into view,, Fiona knew she was right. Excited she pointed and called to her guardian before taking off running toward the other girl
"Cassie! Cassie look! WINGS!
She came to a stop and offered the balls to Grazie, her own wings fluttering at her excitment
"Hi hi, Are these yours?"

"Games first," Orion crowed from his perch atop his father's shoulders. The young herald was excited for a day away from lessons and being stuck in the manor. Most importantly he was enjoying this day he got to spend alone with his father, no sharing required. That it was also his first trip to a fair made the day even better. He'd seen them on tv though so small child knew that winning games was key and he wanted to win while there was still good prizes to get.
Bastion snorted "I suppose." This'd mean he'd have to carry whatever winnings they got around for the rest of the day but it shouldn't be too bad. Of course knowing Orion the kid would tire himself out by the time they reached the end of the midway and they'd never even make it to the rides or food. Though Bastion did intended to find a funnel cake vendor, it was one of his favorite fair indulgences.
The pair slowly made their way towards where the gae stalls were set up.

Sigh. Well. Sometimes there just wasn't anything else to do. He had the day off, but everyone was busy, or was gone, or something else. So Lind was left to his own devices, which never really seemed to end up well. But hey. What can go wrong? He mentally squished the ever growing list of things that popped into mind at that thought. Right. All will go well. Games will be played. Hopefully he would win something that wasn't alive this time, and then he would go home and go to sleep at a reasonable hour (snort), and all will be good. Yeaaaaah. So with a sigh, Lind stuffed his hands into his pockets and wandered through the crowds, idly looking at all of the different stalls and the people, and not quite recognizing most of them.

Cassie had moved off to follow her young charge as she took off through the people holding the balls she had found on the floor, with the intentions of returning them, leaving Chris all alone.
She stood looking at the games, not sure if she wanted to play games first and have to carry whatever she won around, or have to go back to the jeep to put it all away, Or did she want to wait till the end of the night to do that. She was pretty good at most of the fair games, the perks of being a tom boy growing up. She had also read the flier that had shown up on the Rain residence's pruch, so she was looking for other winged beings as well.

Grazie squawked like a blue chicken when the other herald approached her. Mustering up the best 'I am pleasant, please don't run away' smile she could, the young herald held out her hands to receive the juggling spheres.
"Hello, yes, those indeed belong to me." she answered, hoping those could be the last words she exchanged with another. She really did not want to see another person see her in that disgusting feathered dress of hers.
Meanwhile, Sheldon the not-so great magician was searching for the last card in his deck of cards.
"Where the heck is that--" he muttered to himself before spying the overturned card to the side of the booth. "There you are!"
Picking up the card, he noticed the familiar suite of a spade and the eloquent design of the letter A.
"The ace of spades!" he gasped like a suspenseful character before something drastic is revealed. "The card . . . of death!"
Dun, dun, dun, how extremely unexciting.

Fiona smiled brightly and passed the balls over and said, "I like your dress, you remind me of a blue Macaw." This she of course meant as the best complement.
Cassie watched the two Heralds from a distance, and didn't say that it may be taken as an insult.
"My names Fiona, Fiona Blair Rain," she offered her hand to shake Grazie's and asked "Whats your name?"
