"Where are you going, Jah-Jah?" Ngeu asked as she hopped out from the shade and spread her large, tatty wings. Vultures always did seem to have a sort of rough-around-the-edges look, but Ngeu seemed especially scruffy today. "I thought we were going to go and find some old friends today?"

She hopped directly in front of the lioness then, her back hunched and her scrawny neck pulled back so that she could look Jahina straight in the eye.

Some could say that vultures were ugly birds, but, that would be a little unfair. They certainly didn't have the colour and grace of a parrot, but they were intelligent and they did have an original look, even if it wasn't as attractive as some of their avian relatives.

"Nope." Jahina replied smoothly, stepping around her. "Gonna meet up with my best friends, today, Ngeu. Tili and I have been planning to gang up on Chewy and get him to brighten up a bit. So, that's what I'm doing today!" She blinked. "Which reminds me, I need to ask you a favour, but...we'll talk about that later." She'd yet to talk to Ngeu about Pisha. Even still, she didn't think Ngeu would decline. In fact she'd probably be excited about the prospect.

"Are you coming?"

"Um...I'll catch up with you later, if you don't mind, Jah. Got some stuff I need to do. Besides, I'm sure you and Tili will be more than enough for Chewy." She laughed. "Poor guy, I almost feel sorry for him." A pause. "Almost."

"Alright them suit yourself!" And with that Jahina sped off, crossing the short distance between her own den and the one where Tilifika was staying. Luckily they were basically neighbours and it wouldn't take her long.

As for what the plan was today, she hadn't really thought into the details. They'd drop down to where Chewa was staying, ask him to come for a walk and - if he refused - would force him out into the sunshine and then commence on cheering him up.

She was so glad that Tili was of a similar mind as her. It made things a lot easier and it was a lot more fun when involving others in your plots.

"Where do you go these days, anyway?" Tili asked Pisha as she headed from her den. Ever since their return, Pisha had been spending more time away from her, doing... something, and his absences always made her somewhat ill at ease. They had been together, always, for such a long time that it was difficult for her to get accustomed to anything less than that.

"Hm, places," The black vulture answered vaguely. Noticing the curious look on her face, he flapped his wings in a bird's shrug. "You're not the only one trying to get used to being back here, dearheart." He added, tilting his head and addressing her the way he always did when he felt as though he was explaining something to her.

"I'll be back before you know it. Aren't you on some sort of mission with Jahina today, anyway?"

"Yep." Tilifika nodded in the affirmative. "We are uh, getting Chewa out and about." If she had been any less pink, Pisha might have caught the blush to her cheeks, but the bird didn't need a blush to tell him how his bond was feeling.

"Well, we haven't seen him," the lioness said defensively, noticing the vulture's look. "We just thought that... after all the hard work he's put into gettin us home safe and sound, he deserves to enjoy it too."

"Right..." Pisha nodded exaggeratedly, drawing out the single syllable as a small smile flitted about his beak. "Well you two have, uh... fun. Then." He hopped from Tili's shoulders and lifted into the air with a small shake of his head.

Lions.

"Bye, Peesh," Tili called to the disappearing bird, as she headed toward Jahina's den. Who knew what that bird was thinking.

Geez. Vultures.

Behind her she heard the snap of large, heavy wings beating to carry the vulture airbourne and looked up, expecting to see Ngeu fly overhead. But clearly she'd chosen to fly off in a different direction and Jahina felt her heart sink a little with dissapointment.

Why was Ngeu not coming?

Maybe she was...she was jealous? Jahina laughed at that thought. Noooo, Ngeu wouldn't be jealous of Tili!! ...Would she? Hmmm...a possibility. But it didn't seem likely. No. Maybe for now the vulture had set aside some of her trouble-making duties to just go about and explore a bit. She guessed that's what she was doing too...in her own way, of course.

In any case, the vulture would join them if she so desired and she wasn't going to fret about it. If there was a problem, she trusted Ngeu would tell her. They'd never kept secrets from one another after all.

Tilifika's bright fur flashed into sight a moment later and Jahina - glad for her friend's bright pelt - trotted over to greet her, purring lightly. "Morning, Tili! You ready for today's adventure?" She smiled, drawing both ears forwards.

"Morning!" Tili flashed her friend a bright smile - to match their bright adventure, of course, one which would be undeniably successful. She wouldn't settle for anything much less than that. "Born ready, Jah," she added with a laugh.

"Come on, let's go! The earlier we get there, the more fun we all can have, right?" And, of course, it was never a bad thing to spend more time with Chewy. Not just him, but... well... She shook her head. Whatever. If Pisha wasn't going to join them, then it was just his too bad, because they were all going to have the time of their lives today. Oh yes.

She bounded forward, giving Jahina a friendly nudge in the process. Already, ideas were flashing through her head, so many that she hadn't quite had the time to organize them. All she knew for certain so far was that they were about to set off on a grand adventure - once they had shoved old Chewy out of his den, that was.

Chewa had already been up for hours, wandering around trying to refresh his memory of the things that had stayed the same and figure out all the things that had changed. It was almost depressing, especially since he was off on his own while he did it. They hadn't been home very long but he hadn't seen any of his friends since they did arrive, and he was feeling a little too awkward to go and find any of them, coming up with excuses not to go for visits everytime he thought about it. Even Mvua wasn't around, he'd gone off to hunt while Chewa went for a morning walk-- but Mvua was supposed to be back soon, unless he was having trouble, so Chewa was headed back towards the den he'd chosen to stay in. That was where they were going to meet up after Mvua had found something to eat, what they would do after that wasn't planned out yet.

He had no idea he was about to be ambushed as he reached his little den and realized Mvua wasn't there yet.

And it was probably a good thing that Chewa had no idea what was coming, else he probably would have run away and ruined all the fun!!

"That's what I like to hear, Tilifika~!" She sang merrily, moving on swiftly without much of a pause. "That boring old Chewy isn't going to know what hit him!" She laughed out loud and moved swiftly across the well-worn paths that linked the dens together, worn by the tread of steady paws of the lions that lived there.

"He better be home." She spoke up suddenly, the thought never actually crossing her mind that he might not until just then. "Else we could be tracking him down for aaaaages! And that just wouldn't do, especially with Pisha and Ngeu here to help! Birds are much better seekers than lions." She wrinkled her nose and, as they drew closer, saw that there was no need to worry.

Chewa was there.

"Look, Tili! There he is!" Her pace had grown somewhat erratic through the excitement of the day ahead.

"Oh, come on then!" The pink lioness grinned, breaking into a trot as they neared and spotted the lion in his den. "Oh, Chewyy!" She called out in singsong. "Whaaatcha doin'?"

She paused outside the den and peered into the darker recesses of the cave, looking for the lion in question. Oh, he'd better agree to come out. Otherwise, they would have to shove him out by force, and that, she was sure, would go quite a long way to souring the mood for the day.

And she didn't want that.

It was the first time in a long while that she had felt she could have some fun without feeling guilt nag at her in the back of her mind, and she desperately wanted the day to be perfect - as perfect as she had imagined it would be, anyway.

Chewa had turned around to spot Jahina and Tilifika coming for him just too late to avoid being seen by Jahina and, not knowing what else to do, he inched back into his den a little bit. He was happy to see them, sure, but he felt a fair bit of anxiety knowing they were headed this way. He didn't even have Mvua here to help him out, which was not a good thing as far as he was concerned. Mvua would have helped him feel less outnumbered.. but at least their birds weren't here either. That.. could be a good thing, right?

Ugh.

Swallowing his anxieties, Chewa stepped out of the shadows of his den, wearing the same neutral expression he always seemed to have on his face.

"Morning girls," he greeted, "I'm just waiting for Mvua to get back, he's out hunting."

Jahina's eyes were shining with delight and...and with mischief. It was clear she was up to something and she never did anything to hide that fact. It was much more fun knowing that those around her just knew she was plotting.

Even more fun to know that Tili was plotting alongside her.

"Just waiting?" She echoed. "Well its a good job we came along then, Chewy! Since you're not doing anything, you can come with us! And we're not going to take no for an answer, right, Tili?"

She beamed across at her bright-pelted friend.

Tilifika couldn't help but allow the conspiratorial smile to spread across her face as she shot Jahina a glance that clearly said they were plotting something - as if her friend had not already made that abundantly clear. She didn't pause to consider what it must be like to be on the other end of their conspiracy. Anxious, and some sense of foreboding, perhaps, but then, the thought never did cross her mind. She was too caught up in the moment and the promise of adventure and fun.

"Of course not, Jah," the bright lioness feigned nonchalance, shrugging her shoulders. But the act lasted all of a moment before a great, dazzling smile reappeared on her face, bright enough to rival Jahina's.

"Come on, Chewy, we're gonna go do something fun! We've got places to go, things to see. We're already late, let's go, let's go!" It didn't matter that she wasn't exactly sure what it was that they were going to do, what there was to see or where there was to go that would make their outing an adventure, or at least extremely interesting.

Chewa looked back and forth between the girls mutely, though mentally cursing his decision to stay behind while Mvua went hunting (though he realized immediately it was stupid to be upset, he would have gotten in the way and Mvua needed to eat). He tried to weigh his options, knowing enough about them to spot the futility in resisting if they said they wouldn't take no for an answer. They knew he never was any fun, he couldn't hide behind that if they were apparently prepared to deal with it.

"Fine," he muttered finally, unable to decide where exactly was least awkward to look and settling on Tili, since she was the last to speak.

"Yay!!" Jahina bounced, child-like in her glee. And, with a huge smile and a laugh to match, she bounded over to him, giving him a firm nudge on his side with the flat of her head.

"No time to looooose~!" She chimed, glancing across at Tilifika with a sense of triumph. This was going to be wonderful! The three of them out and about like the good old times before they returned here to these lands.

"Don't worry, Chewy, you're in good paws! We'll take care of you." She winked across at her, and with a bounce in her step, struck out across the valley. What their adventure was going to entail, she wasn't exactly sure, but she was sure that she and Tili could work something out along the way. She cast another glance across at her sister, hoping she'd understand that they needed a quick chat - without Chewy hearing - so they could put their plans into action!
