i dont really know if i am in love or not. love has betrayed me so many times, that it is getting harder and harder to feel strongly for anyone.
i was going out with one guy, and i convinced myself that i was in love. after he dumped me, he asked if we could be 'friends with benifits.' it tore me up because it made me realize that i was just a booty call for him. but for some stupid reason, if he asked me out again, i know i will say yes. is that what love is? patient and always ready to forgive? or is it honesty. something he has yet to show me..
so i guess that my real question is, what do you define love as?

Disclaimer: This is going to sound pathetically naive, disgustingly fluffy, and all around cringe-worthy. Writing this pains me as much as it will for you to read. Don't hate me.
Love is... Not n easy thing to describe. There are so many kinds of love, that it has become virtually impossible to give one concise description to cover all of it. However, from the first post, I am going to go out on a limb here, and assume the romance is the desired definition.
Well, in that case, consider the following. This is going to sound odd, but bear with me here. This is the best that I can do.
Love is...getting fluttery feelings of intense joy in your stomach when you look at a person(s). Love is caring for someone so strongly, that your willing to give up everything for them. Your possessions, your wealth, your health. Your life. Love is waking up every morning, and feeling that no matter what happens, you will always be alright. Because you have this person(s). The ability to feel completely fulfiflled only because that person(s) is happy.
When you're in love with someone(s), you will defend them to the end. When they hold you, you feel that nothing else means jack-s**t. You feel complete when you're near them, protected when they touch you. You want to do whatever you can for their happiness.
Ugh. Sickening.

I'm not "falling in love" for a long time and it makes me sick how some people my age (teenage) throw around the word love as if it measns "really like". Disgusting.
This is just an opinion, so don't stone me, but I don't think that this young MOST people don't know what love is. There are those lucky few who find someone they love in highschool, but most people are just trying out what they like and don't like in a partner.

Some people here, my age, say that they ''truly love'' someone, when they've just met them. And they want to go steady right away as well. They're so ''in love'' with each other for about 6 days, then they break up. I mean, what's up with that? I honestly can't stand that.

Sickening. i agree wiht you that there are many different kinds of love. to many in fact to get a clear description. i guess, i just feel like i did something wrong in the relationship. with in your description, i dont think i did love him, but i think that i loved him like... maybe a reciently adopted brother... that probably doesnt make that much sence, but to me, it does.
