Personality:
Yoshi personality differs depending on the situations he gets in. Generally, he tends to be mild, timid, and as polite as possible, even to his acquaintances. He often reserves judgment on things and rarely acts out. Whenever someone tells a joke, even if it's not very funny, Yoshi will at least smile politely so they don't feel too bad about themselves afterwards. He tries to be nice to most people he's around, no matter what he thinks about them inside, unless they do something that changes that. Even if they do, though, Yoshi will rarely say a bad word about them.
In fact, he is soft spoken and usually only talks when spoken too. A quiet person, he can often spend his time simply watching the ocean, the wind, anything really. He seemingly has the attention span of an oak tree. Occasionally, especially with friendlier people, this brings about his more curious side out, where he may ask a few questions every now and then. To any person he likes a lot, he will often cling to them, figuratively and literally.
However, whenever the people he cares about get hurt too much, he enters into a trance-like battle state, Genocide Mode, and attacks whomever he views as his enemy and harmed his friend(s). Rarely does this ever happen, though when it does it would be a good thing for those people to run like hell, a Yoshi in Genocide Mode is not a pretty sight. However, without Genocide Mode, Yoshi usually abhors violence.
Like most children his alleged age, whenever Yoshi is around people with a high amount of authority or stature, he becomes nervous and somewhat shy, often times hiding childishly behind someone else or an object. This part of him often conflicts with his curiosity. However, if that person of high authority shows a fair amount of kindness to Yoshi, he often then goes from being nervous around them to treating them as a trustworthy adult, sort of, and they can become the person he hides behind whenever another person of high authority comes 'round.
Physical Description:
Yoshi can hardly be considered an imposing or intimidating person, considering he's only three feet eleven inches tall, which makes him somewhat taller than his classmates. He has blond hair that reaches down around his eyes with a much longer strand in between them. Often times a tuft of blond hair sticks straight up in the air, even gel finds it a challenge to suppress that tuft. His blond hair is natural and as a result is a bit out of place in Japan.
His eyes are a warm light brown in color and rarely hostile. Yoshi often gives off an aura of friendliness wherever he goes and tends to be a good listener. He is also extremely strong, way stronger than his size would suggest, and can easily carry heavy weights.
Skills:
Great Spiritual Energy: This level of spiritual power corresponds to those possessing a large amount of spiritual power which is finely controlled. This level of spiritual power is common amongst those of an average Captain rank.
Enhanced Strength: Despite his size and personality, Yoshi is scarily powerful, able to deliver bone-crushing, building-wrecking punches and kicks.
Enhanced Speed: Yoshi can move at unnaturally high speeds and is able to quickly dodge attacks.
Enhanced Agility: Similar to his Enhanced Speed, Yoshi is able to dodge close range attacks quickly and weave around his opponents.
Suspension in Air: Yoshi is able to suspend in air as if there's an imaginary platform underneath him.
Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Due to his martial arts training and his mysterious powers, Yoshi is damn scary when it comes down to Hakuda, he can easily match an armed opponent.
Genocide Mode [Variant]: On a general basis, Yoshi abhors fighting and tries not to engage in violent measures unless absolutely necessary. However, when he is given enough stimuli, a hostile reiatsu, someone he cares for has been injured, or anything like that, his body responds by entering into Genocide Mode.
In Genocide Mode he is a trance-like state and his abilities increase, mostly due to his subconscious willingness to use them now. Anything he perceives as a threat will be assaulted merciless. Also in this state, the pain Yoshi feels will be greatly numbed and he will rarely, if ever, use his voice.
Latent Power:
Reiryoku Absorption: With his bare hands, and only his hands, Yoshi can absorb a limited amount of an enemy's reiryoku, convert it, and then add it onto his own. Due to this, he can absorb reiryoku based attacks, such as Ceros and Hado, and can weaken an Arrancar's hierro or dispel a Quincy's bow just by touching it with his hands.
Yoshi can, at one point, hold a Cero fired by a high leveled Espada, around Primera Level even, or a Hado in the level 70s. If he isn't too restrained, Yoshi can dispel a Bakudo by holding onto it and absorbing its reiryoku, can absorb most Quincy arrows and Balas. Zanpaku-to attacks vary on how strong they are, also. Of course, he has to touch it with his hands for it to work.
Returning Strike: By simply creating a pathway inside from one hand to another, Yoshi can nearly instantly return reiatsu gathered from one hand and fire it out the other. Not only does this work on ranged attacks, it works in hand-to-hand fighting too, especially against Arrancars who have condensed their reiryoku has a hierro.
Reinforcement: By using his own reiryoku or reiryoku absorbed from another source, Yoshi can strengthen his hands and/or feet to make them deliver much more powerful blows and act as a concentrated hierro, allowing him to block most Zanpaku-to attacks with his bare hands and/or feet as well as 'cause an extreme amount of damage.
Bio:
Yoshi's past is literally shrouded in mystery. His first memories of awakening were around two to three years ago with no memories prior to that. He had woken up near a bridge over a river that lead into Karakura Town and had sobbed quietly, rubbing his swollen eyes, as he had walked across it to the town, not sure where he was even going himself as he stumbled acrossed it, ignored by everyone. His clothing then were old torn up and patched jeans and a slightly ripped black and red T-shirt, both marred with dirt, no other possessions on him.
Still, nobody had taken him in or even bothered to ask about him, which he, at that time, glad for, because he didn't even know his own name at the time, no memories were left him. Continuing on with his journey, he had eventually ended up in a park at night, which was where he stayed, sleeping underneath the elephant-shaped slide. However, in the middle of the night he was awoken by the sound of screaming, a loud roar, and the sound of heavy footsteps. Peeking outside, the first thing he noticed was a large black, masked creature that had three pairs of limbs, four clawed feet and two large arms pincered arms chasing after two children, a young boy and girl. It had first grabbed onto the boy and, with Yoshi watching on in horror and the other girl screaming in fright and helplessness, shoved the boy into his mouth and ate him.
That had set off something deep inside Yoshi. Suddenly, he entered a trance-like state and suddenly blasted off, with incredible speed, and punched the monster the its masked face. That one punch was enough to shatter its mask. Since he wasn't a Shinigami and hadn't used a Zanpaku-to, the Hollow had been killed, not purified, and its body disintegrated. After he recovered from his Genocide Mode, he remembers the girl somehow clinging to him and a figure dressed in a strange black outfit with a sword approaching the two, glancing around, muttering something about 'It was just around here,' and then looked at the two.
Speaking reassuring words first to the cringing girl, he performed a Soul Burial on her and looked prepared to do the same on Yoshi when he realized that he wasn't a Plus. Learning about his situation, the Shinigami helped him out, giving him his current name, Sasaki Yoshiro, and pointed him towards the direction of an orphanage. Proceeding to go there, he was soon among with the other orphans. However, in the time frame of just a single day, he was scouted out and adopted, rather quickly, by a large family known for adopting many children.
It wasn't as much of an adoption as it was a patronage though. The 'parents' were two CEOs of different companies that were about to merge. They were rarely at home, instead leaving them with nannies and babysitters. Whatever the children wanted to do, as long as it was reasonable, they would allow, due to their wealth. It was partially this way how Yoshi managed to join a Karate school and, due to his somehow hidden strength and abilities, worked his way up to a Black Belt within a single year.
Around the same time some sort of power was awakening within him, though he didn't completely understand it himself but gradually learned more about it, especially against these 'Hollows'. Starting school too, Yoshi was extremely bright in his class and he skipped multiple grades. Though he was often looked down upon by the other boys, the girls this unhealthy obsession with him, partially shielding him from abuse. Often times, Yoshi finds himself heading back to the area in which he first had awoken, near the bridge, as if somehow answers would be revealed there about his past.
Other: People have an unhealthy obsession with him at times, especially of the female gender.
