If youre a regular visitor of Dolphinmania, grab like hell and savor the lagless site while you still can. DolphinMania to be closed down this FridayAfter browsing around in the official DM guild, during a phone conversation between Lanzer and DM's creator, the site is shutting down. The creator is not revealing any of the contents of the conversation. He has accepted it. Thoughts? I for one, am rather sad that DM is leaving. Back to the laggy tanks in the forums and never getting a spot in the dolphin tanks for me. emo

Malfunctioning Hardware Awww man. I don't want to go back to threads. ;__; Me neither! I havent used the forums ever since DM was opened. I could never hit a dolphin tanks and the fish lagged like there was no tomorrow. Even with the quality lowered and the sound muted. And now gaia comes out with an awesome rig with so many things I want and Im low on gold. >_<

I think this is just the beginning, it appears Gaia might have further plans and this is why: (sorry for the page stretch)

@Cryptex XIII I can only hope that more efficient gold sink methods are in Lanzer's solution to curb inflation and will be put into effect sometime in the future. I dont remember the last time we had a decent gold sink. Im not even sure if D*C is even acting as a gold sink anymore.

Cryptex XIII I think this is just the beginning, it appears Gaia might have further plans and this is why: (sorry for the page stretch) With the drastic changes that he alludes to, this may bring a swing of worth between items and gold. Im not saying it is time to sell expensive items to get the gold for them but the time may be coming where it is more worth while to essentially invest in the currency of gaia which is gold, this is a common practice in the stock market. I may be jumpin the gun in thinkin that limiting the gold flow from booty grab could cause this type of deflation but its something to keep in mind. Either way thanks for posting that crypt.

It's sad to see it go. I mean I rarely play BG and only have before because of the site being so helpful. but I believe, like many others, that it's making it too easy to make gold, which is causing inflation.
I laughed at that persons #5. o:

@8THEDUDEINBLACK4: I don't think that by removing dolphin mania we are going to see a massive deflation all of a sudden. Dolphin mania pumped so much gold into the system that it's going to take quite a long time for things to level out a bit. I do not think that this is the end, from his post it sounds as if there is more to come and where I agree with you that we should start trying to focus a little more on gaining and having pure.

I favor the closing of DM since it levels the playing field for users that don't know about it and helps with inflation. As for drastic changes, I'm clueless as to their intentions. As long as I don't see to term "price cap" being used I think we'll live.
