I was looking at some threads and wow, you guys have a lot of impressive stuff!
I don't know how many I exactly have but here I shall list my collection!
I got my very first Manga 2 years ago, on my 12th birthday. Not old enough to work so I don't have as many as some but I think I've done okay!
My 4 top Manga are:
~Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
~One Piece
~Skip Beat
~Kodocha
Close to being on the list is:
~Pandora Hearts
~Tegami Bachi
Feel free to suggest anything to me I read nearly everything (No Hentai, Yaoi,Yuri or gorey stuff though, please. I like stuff from Really Girly Shoujo to Josei to Shounen etc.)
I lost count of how many I have but I think it's around 500-600.

I was lazy with the picture taking, took ages resizing them though >.< I stole my sisters Peter Rabbit book ends whee Shelf One;  Shelf Two;  Random Closeups;  Shelf 3 and 4;  Book Shelf;  Stacked on top of the bookself;  Random boxes that are full the picture only shows half - 3/4 the front of the boxes.  In my Cabinet:  + Random Anime I never watch ( I think all of this is Anime)

Wow, we have a lot of similar series. 3nodding You have a lot of Japanese volumes; can you read Japanese?
Is Kamichama Karin worth getting? I don't know if I want to collect the series now that it's out of print...

ZepysGirl Wow, we have a lot of similar series. 3nodding You have a lot of Japanese volumes; can you read Japanese? Is Kamichama Karin worth getting? I don't know if I want to collect the series now that it's out of print... -hi fives- Hmm Kamichama Karin is cute.. random.. the art in the first series isn't that great I personally prefer Chu - the 2nd series. It was originally meant to be a gag Manga that ended up continuing so sometimes you think 'that is so stupid!!' like her transformation 'I AM GODDD!!!' It is quiet confusing sometimes but overall I like it and would say if you see the volumes at a reasonable price get it but if it is over the RRP I would leave it. If I didn't have the volumes already what I would do is buy bad condition really cheap ones. As for Japanese Manga I can read and translate to English some of it, I am still learning and have a long way to go but things like Shugo Chara I find really easy to read and translate. The Cherry project I had to go read online because I didn't understand that much of it X) I need furigana I only know around 20 Kanji @.@ I saw on your thread how many you know.. it's a lot! Do you self study or take lessons? (sorry if you mentioned it there I forgot o smile and thank you boiller!

I got myself a book of kanji and I've been making my way through it. It's kind of cool, the only downside is that I'm not learning how to read the kanji, only remember them, so I can't really read anything yet. sweatdrop Like, I could write the characters for "woman," "stubborn," and "gall bladder," but I have no idea how to pronounce them in Japanese or even how to write a simple sentence. I'm going to start taking formal instruction in the Fall, so I hope that'll fix it. But my friend has assured me that learning the meaning of the kanji is the hardest part, so I think I'm on the right track. >.> I don't even know katakana or hiragana yet, so the furigana mean nothing to me! D:

Start with kana if you can~
But at least once you start your formal lessons you'll probably start with kana, so you're fine.
The way I learned most of the kanji I know (I don't know how many I know, but it's a decent number) was through reading manga. The really odd part? The ones I really committed to memory were from reading manga without furigana, so I was forced to look at the kanji rather than just skim over the kanji and read the furigana xP So, I definitely recommend a mix of comics with furigana and without.
Rimigo: Very nice collection! It's nice to see another collector of Japanese manga, even if it's only a part of the collection <3

Starting with Kana is what I did in my lessons so Kyousouka's suggestion is probably correct (:
Also thank you! I do need more Japanese Manga! I decided to save that money for lessons when I feel well tho for now I am going to stick with what I have (:
