Kai walked out of the front door of the Torres Mansion and smiled when the cool air meet his skin. He looked at the sky and his smile got brighter when he saw that the sun was covered up by lots and lots of dark cloud. The wind was blowing harder now and he could hear a distant thunder. "Today is a beautiful day." He said loudly and hoped that no one heard him. Unlike other, he doesn't like the sun that much. He love the clouds and love the storm and love it when both of them come with a strong wind. "You know what, I think I'm going to get some training done." He said to himself before walking toward the Combat Ground, right next to the Target Practice Ground that he used to go to every day. "May be later, maybe." He said as he walked pass the target practice and patted it.

Taking out the box weapon that he named after his long dead friend, Kai put on his ring and smiled. With the return of Kurono his mood have been up lately, and the darken sky with promised of storm bought his mood up even more. Kai looked at his ring and wondered why was it that whenever he put it on he felt as though a great weight is place on his shoulder. Actually, he knew what the weight was, but he doesn't know why he felt it anyway. So far in his life, being the boss doesn't much really. His family is small, too small in fact. He remembered how the family was when his dad was still alive, and remembered the time he have. But now with his dad dead and so is most of the family, the only one left is him and some of the other, but they are all on mission of their own. Kai let out a heavy sigh before summoning the flame and placed it into the Sky Box. He watched as the Sky Box opened and Kasumi flied out. Kasumi, the large black bird that he named after his dead friend. He watched as Kasumi landed several feet away and watched him with anticipation. Finally, after minutes of staring, Kai broke eye contact and stood up. He motioned for Kasumi to come forward and take it position. Kasumi, long learned to understand her master, took off into the sky and flied around before slowly attached herself onto Kai back. After a while she finally became part of him. He petted Kasumi wings and was happy when he felt that the feathers was smooth and nice. "Quick practice then." He said to her before running toward the gate. He jumped off the ground several steps later and laughed when the wings began flapping and he began his long awaited soaring practice. He flied around the mansion a couple of time before taking toward other place, away from the mansion that he haven't left in a long time.

Kai put his hands into his pocket and slowly walked outside. The house was empty like usual. The other family members are out, doing what they have to do. Kai knew that it is not their fault that the family is weak, but he can't help but felt that it is part of their fault. "I really hate this." Kai said to himself before standing up and walked to the back yard, where the armory are. He hopped that he can find something to test his weapon on, something hard and tough. Kai let out a disappointed sigh though after hours of searching for something to test his weapon on but come up with nothing. He did found a pair of katana that seem tough but from the condition of it sheath Kai doesn't want to risk breaking it. So after a while of thinking he decided to test it out on the combat ground.
Kai arrived at the combat ground and smiled when he saw that the other have been using it. He came to understood that they have not been lazying and are actually practicing. Not wanting to fall behind he took out Kurono and threw the pair of daggers into the air. With lightning speed reflect he caught both of the daggers and ran toward the nearest dummy. Kai was running as fast as he can but was slowly gaining ground, because instead of running in a straight direction he was going zig zag. "Zig zag is hard to catch." his father told him and Kai come to understand that running in zig zag really is the better choice. So by lowering the amount of ground gained Kai is giving himself more of a safety. When Kai finally got to the dummy he raised both his hand out and crossed the daggers, making a X. He aimed the tip at the dummy fake heart and plunged in as hard and fast as he can, but he knew that it wasn't hard enough. Even though Kurono is sharp and power it still require his power to pierce the dummy, and that was something in which he does not have.
Seeing this Kai quickly back step, pulling Kurono out and began slashing at the dummy. He began slashing at the front and after five hit he jumped up, over the head of the dummy, and landed behind it. Without stopping for time to think, Kai instinctively began slashing at it unprotected back. After another five hit he ran to the side and began doing to the same thing to it. All of his slashes were aimed at important point on the body, vital nerve point. In between the slashes Kai also perform quick and fluid stab. He stopped after about 10 minutes and stood back, watching his work.
"Now if that were a real human being, then he would have been dead after the first minute." A mysterious voice said from behind Kai back. Kai quickly turned around to find that it was his father friend, the librarian who woke him up in the library. Not knowing who the man are or what the man is doing in his property, passing the alarms and dogs and several other key point without turning them on. "Who are you?" Kai asked blankly as he raise his arms out and pointed Kurono at the man. He thought he knew the librarian but apparently he didn't.
"The name Vinson. I'm your father friend." He replied. Then slowly the man walked toward Kai, ignoring Kurono until he came right up to Kai.
"I know who you are." Kai said with attitude as he slowly backed away. "Vinson, yes. But who are you really. I mean you're not a librarian, I know that for sure. So tell me my dear friend, who are you?"
Vinson kept his path and kept on walking toward Kai. A smile appeared on his face as he placed his hand on Kurono sharp edged and began speaking. "Well let see. I'm your father friend and loyal assassin. I made his weapon for him. And I made Kurono." And in a flash Vinson disappeared and Kai felt a sharp pain as Kurono quickly disappeared from his grip. He didn't even know that it happen until it did. Vinson appeared second later with kurono in his hands. "Now boy, you really do not know of Kurono power do you?" He smirked and point Kurono to the ground. Kai watched with amazement as the blade began slowly falling, but it wasn't falling. Infact Kurono blade is actually connected to the hilt by a small silver chain. "Test it out." Vinson said before throwing Kurono back to Kai after Bring the blade back to it original form. Kai caught Kurono and watched as Vinson once again disappear and then the alarm was triggered and the whole house was place in main alert. From a distance Kai could hear a curse and smiled when he recognized that it was Vinson who is cursing.

After several moment of examining the weapon that he thought he knew so much about, Kai decided to blow off some steam by working on his speed and stamina. He knew that his stamina is not that great even though he have very quick speed. So after some thinking he placed Kurono back in it sheath before taking off running around the large backyard until he is either out of breath or lying on the floor moaning. To make thing more interesting and not so boring, Kai summon his flame and insert them into the sky box. He watched as Kasumi shoot out of the box and began hovering around him. "Go." He gave her the command and began running after the fleeing bird.
While Kasumi is in the air she can spread her wind out as far as she want and can. When she fully spread her wings Kai can only watched with amazement as her shadow loomed over his body. Kasumi is a very large bird with lot of power. Kai knew that her feathers is at it softest form now and she can reach her maximum speed due to his emotion. So no matter how fast he run, Kasumi always seem to be one step ahead of him. He sometime saw kasumi turned her head to look at him and knew that she is only mocking him. "So you want to play eh?" He yelled the question and began picking up his speed. But still, no matter how fast he run Kasumi always seem to be a head of him. "Common." he said the words in between huff and puff as he slumped down onto the ground after a long 5 minutes of full on sprinting. He tried to stand back up but could only sat up. When ever he tried to stand his legs always buckled before giving into the weight and fell helplessly to the ground. Kasumi let out a loud caw as she landed behind him, casting a long shadow over his body. He smiled and lied back and watched as Kasumi opened her beak and began singing. Kasumi is a very large and powerful bird, but she also have a very beautiful voice.
"Hey Kasumi, do you remember her?" He asked his long time friend. Kasumi bended down and poke him softly on the chest with her beak, and he knew that she also remember her. "You know, sometime I think she is watching us, looking over us." Kai watched the cloud on the sky, floating aimlessly around. Some of them merging into a large cloud while other stay by them self. He focused on the lonely cloud in the sky and smiled when her name came into his head. He tilted his head to look at Kasumi and see that she took is also looking up into the sky. He wondered what is she thinking but soon understand that she is remembering her own loved one when he saw that there were tears on those beautiful eyes. He patted her wings and murmured softly, "I know." Before closing his own eyes as the tears began to flow.

Kai sat up as an alarm rang inside his ears. Someone is in the house and he knew that no one should be back yet. Hoping that it not an intruder Kai took off running back to the house. He stopped at the back door and took out Kurono before entering. Not knowing who it is he is not going to take a chance. Hearing a familiar voice Kai smiled as he slowly walked up from behind Ray. He placed Kurono on Kai shoulder, inches from his bare neck, and with a deep voice he pretended to be someone else and asked, "Who are you?"

Kai smiled and let out a happy laugh as he hugged his cousin. "Long time no see man, come, come to my office." Kai patted his cousin shoulder and motioned for him to follow. Kai twirled Kurono in his hands as he walk toward his office, right next to his bedroom, which is also right next to the meeting room, which he think is a very bad idea. Kai could only chuckle at the thought that something could happen to him in his own home. "So cousin, how you been?" Kai asked informally as he turned around and began walking backward. "I'm really sorry about what happen to your family." He heard about his cousin state from one of their many contact and can only imagine how he felt, loosing two families in a life time. kai have only lost one and that scared his heart forever, he can only imagine the pain his cousin is going to. "So, how is america?" He quickly asked, trying to change the subject. "I mean father talk a lot about America but I haven't really went there much. Is the girls as hot as they used to be?" Maybe it was puberty or maybe it was him trying to change the subject, but Kai doesn't know why in the world he is talking about girl, he never really been interest in them before, well not that much any, he get his case here and there.
Kai let out a sigh when he finally arrived at his neat little office. His eyes goes wide open when he saw his notebook on the table, the notebook that held his fantasy novel he been writing about. So before anyone get into the room Kai quickly rushed over and close the notebook, but not before getting a glint of one of the older chapter on the book. His eyes start getting teary but he wipe them away before placing the notebook back in the desk and sat down on his comfortable chair, but his mind kept on going back to that chapter, the last chapter of his story and before he knew it Kai was back in his dream world.

Kai sang the song that he used to sing whenever he is bored. It is a song he made up, thinking that he will sing it to the girl that he will one day love.
"You are the one, the only one that matter.
You are the one, the only one that can."
Kai was surprise when a hand felt on his shoulder and a soft voice telling him that his singing suck. He jumped up and quickly turned around with Kurono out and ready to fight, but his fighting instinct quickly subdue when he sees that it is only the rain guardian, Amelia. He shook his head in disbelieve before sheathing Kurono and sigh. "I really hate it when you do that." He muttered and sat back down. Amelia sat down next to him after shuffled his hairs and giving him a smack behind the head, a light one at that though. "So, what bring you out here?" Kai asked politely as he fix his hairs.
"Nothing." Amelia replied and lied back onto the grassy ground. "And really young master, your voice suck, bad." She said with a chuckle as she herself began to mouthed her own song. "You know Kai, you really should think about doing something about that little problem you have." She smiled and pointed at his chest before closing her eyes and began singing out loud.
"If your be my star, I'll be your sky. You can hide underneath me and come out at night. When I turn jet black and you show off your light, I'll live to let you shine. I'll live to let you shine." Amelia tilted her head to look at Kai and smiled before saying, "You should really listen to the song. Its boats and birds." She winked at him and goes back to singing.
Kai sat still and listened to her voice. She have a very good voice, he have to admit that, and the songs that she listen to are really good too. Kai remember the name of the song and promised himself to listen to it later. Until then, he leaned his back on the tree and look up at the sky, the starless sky, the cloudy sky, the last sky he and Amelia will watch together. Kai really want to tell her not to leave with his father tomorrow, but he knew that no matter how much he scream or yell, his dream world will not change, for it is but part of the past that he hoped to change but never will be able to. So silently, Kai mouthed that he will miss her and enjoy the song that she singing.

Kai shook himself out of his dream, his fantasy, his little wish that everything is alright and back to the real world. Seeing that his cousin is not in yet he quickly fix the desk and the chair to make it look clean and professional. "First good impression are always nice." He said to himself before placing his hands on the desk and sat straight up like how his father used to do.

Kai softly slapped himself several time to get the dizziness out. He haven't been getting much sleep lately due to some of the problem with the Alliance his father created, but it seem as though thing will be OK for now. "Yeah, I'm OK. And it should be me who asking that question my dear cousin. How was your flight, nothing bad happen I hope." Kai let a smile appear on his face as he went through the stacks of papers lying on the desk. One of those paper was from one of his many eyes and ears from afar. He picked it up and quickly scan over it. He hid the surprise that hit him as best as he could but the news that he gotten prove pretty surprise. "So yes, let me show you your room." Kai stood up and walked over to his cousin. Kai smiled and pat his cousin shoulder, which require him to go tip toe, before walking out side and toward the stair. "Your room is on the second floor, and let me tell you this, it have a pretty nice bed." Kai have gone out and chosen the bed himself, picking only the best and most comfortable one.
