Biskuti was spending some time away from her family at the moment. Which wasn't a bad thing, since she would just see them later today anyway. It was hard to escape family, but Biski could do it once in a while. During the day. She was just out practicing her hunting skills, really!
Well, she actually was. She had thought it might be a nice little surprise for Fyulisi and her adorable little girl. Biski was almost jealous, too, but she would hold on out for now. She had to be a good hunter before she could set her sights on something else!
Stalking in the grass, she hadn't quite caught the scent of a rabbit. She was sure that she would run into one soon, it was only a matter of time...

It was a lovely afternoon for a walk so Kafara had insisted that she and Enzi go out. Now that the boys were older, they didn't have to worry as much as they used to.. but Lisi had done a good job reminding them all that they ought to be a little more aware than they might have been. Not that any of the family could really say anything about it, each and every one of them was familiar with such accidents or lapses in judgment. But it was a nice topic of conversation when it happened.
"You don't suppose the boys will have any little ones running around soon, do you?" she asked, glancing over to her mate with a small smile. Enzi had been blissfully unaware of the potential of becoming a grandfather now that the boys were almost grown up until Hamamu came about. Somewhere deep down he was as excited as he was anxious of it. Manny obviously hadn't realized either and he wasn't taking it all that well.
"Maybe," he answered, shaking his head, "Not before us, I hope. Though our boys and Manny's girls grew up with aunts and an uncle their age. Can you imagine if everybody had cubs again?"
And now all those previous litters could have litters.. they could be overrun very fast.

Biski's ears shot up, hearing faintly familiar voices from not too far off. Instantly forgetting her plans (and she probably wouldn't have caught anything anyway) she abandoned her hunt and ran over to them. It was always interesting being related to so many, but Biski loved having a huge family.
"Aunt! Uncle!" she yelled, running over to them with a big smile on her face. She caught a bit about what they were talking about, something with cubs. Ooohh, she liked cubs!
"Whatcha guys talking about?" she asked, hoping they'd disclose a bit more of their discussion.

"Ugh," Kafara blurted, unable to contain herself, "What a dizzying idea. If everybody had just one it would be more than last time but Lisi is the first one in a while to have just one." And then she laughed. They were sure to be overrun with cubs again in no time, she and Enzi certainly weren't done and wouldn't be scared off by the crowd. Family was what made it more fun.
Her ears perked up when she heard a familiar voice call out, and she spotted Biski shortly after.
"Afternoon, Biski!" she greeted her, smiling. Then she glanced over to Enzi with a grin, wondering how much he would dare to tell her about what they were discussing.
Enzi chuckled as Kafara made an effort to work out the math behind the potential the family had to explode again. He spotted Biski before he heard her, though. He let Kafara's greeting double as his own, offering only a nod-- and then he could feel his mate's eyes on him. When he looked, he knew she was forcing him to deal with her question.
"Uh," he started, but then resigned himself. He wouldn't be giving Biski any ideas, if anybody did it would have been Lisi and it was too late to stop that.
"We were talking about cubs," he answered, then bent the truth a bit, "Kafara and I were thinking about having more, Hamamu could probably use some playmates her own size."

Biski was thrilled to visit her aunt and uncle, even if she was intruding a bit. They didn't seem to mind, but that was probably because they were used to it; the Pridelands were so large, and there was always so much family everywhere!
"Ooooh!" Biski liked talking about cubs, if only because they were so... "She's so cute! I'm sure she would love more playmates, though I love to play with her." Biski was cute and sweet, but she always was a little airheaded in some ways. And the older she god, the more...obvious it became.
"That would be so nice! More colour, too! Maybe soon?"

Kafara was thinking much like Enzi when he explained what they were talking about. They didn't want to accidentally suggest Biski have cubs but.. Kafara thought a little more about how suggestible she might be. Maybe she was just generally more aware of it. Enzi had a bunch of sisters but maybe he needed a daughter to really understand. Another reason they needed to have more babies.
"Hamamu will always have someone to play with, of course," she said brightly, knowing that Biski was a good aunt and playmate, "But didn't you like having your cousins and aunts and uncle your own size to play with as well as all of us?"
No cub in this family would be bored or lonely. The problem, if anything, would be getting time to yourself.
Enzi was encouraged when Kafara didn't scold him for saying something wrong, and he smiled at her when she spoke-- and then looked back at Biski when she asked when they might have more cubs. There was no good reason that it wouldn't be soon.
"I can't say how colorful they might be but I don't see why it wouldn't be soon," he answered, smiling, "What do you think, Kafara?" He looked over to his mate to see her shaking her head (but smiling) at him.

Biski giggled. "I dunno Uncle Enzi, you're pretty blue up there." She reached out a paw and gave him one little poke on the shoulder before settling back down. She kept moving her head between the two of them, since both of them were chatting. It made her happy.
"I did like having friends," she nodded, even if those friends were family. Like sisters and cousins and what not. "Hamamu is pretty young though.." And thinking about it, there weren't many other litters, either. Maybe one or two (definitely bigger than Lisi's single baby), but as family usually stuck close, she just had big friends to play with.
"That would be good," she agreed absently, wondering....her mind ticking. "You guys will have lots!"

Kafara snickered when Biski pointed out just how blue Enzi was. She did have a very good point, he was the source of all of the color in their boys. Or.. two of them anyway. Dagan mostly took after her, but that was probably what made him hesitant to just agree that they would have a whole bunch of brightly colored babies.
"Oh, I hope so!" she said brightly, "We definitely need a girl this time, don't you think, Biski?"
He squeaked indignantly when Biski poked at him, glaring playfully at her.. but it didn't last, she was mostly distracted by the conversation they were having now. The way they were talking about it now made it seem so strange that they didn't just have more cubs already.
"We better have lots of help keeping them entertained if we have that many," he grumbled, though not seriously put off by the idea. And the idea of a daughter made it hard not to smile again. Like Kafara thought he needed a daughter, he thought Kafara needed one too.

Biski could feel herself squeal. "Yes! Girls are the best!" And she wasn't biased at all. Though, certainly to a parent's point of view girls might be a bit more difficult than boys. More emotional, and in Biski's case...well, that didn't need to be said.
"I would love to help out if you have lots! I'M sure if Lisi lets me, I could bring Hamamu over and have one big day of play." And that meant that she would spend less time hunting, but she didn't mind. Maybe she should just change from hunter into something else. She enjoyed ditching more than actually hunting. "It'd give everyone some time off!" Brilliant.

"What about all girls this time? That would be fun," she added with a grin at the positive response she got from Biski. But she was teasing Enzi now, too. He'd be able to handle it just fine but Manny had all girls and he was in the middle of overreacting to the latest little girl in his family. He didn't make it look easy.
Enzi gave Kafara a look when she suggested they might have all girls. It would be .. funny. Though he didn't think the boys were a fair test run for all girls. Not that he'd openly call the boys a practice litter, they'd done a good job, he liked to think.
"That sounds perfect," he said.

Biski felt proud. Her idea had worked! Not that it really was her idea, and she wasn't completely aware of the fact that you had zero choice in genders. She figured that you could at least influence it a bit, if you wished really hard.
"Yay! I can't wait!" She shook a little in her seat, more excited than she really should be. But cubs were so cute, who wouldn't be excited for them? Maybe she'd even risk the chance of giving one of them a bath!
"Hopefully they'll be here soon, before Hamamu gets too big!" Not that she was rushing them or anything, never.

Kafara just smiled, laughing to herself about how things had worked out for their afternoon stroll. It was a good thing they were already into the idea or it would be very awkward once they were alone again. If she tried, Kafara could probably still make it awkward. Enzi was adorable when he was flustered.
"What were you doing out here before you spotted us, Biski?" she asked suddenly, changing the subject now that the conversation about cubs seemed to have wrapped up nicely.
"Hopefully," Enzi agreed with a chuckle, leaning against his mate, nudging her affectionately. Biski wasn't a bad one to share the ideas with first, she was a very encouraging listener. He only hoped the boys liked the idea as much, it would be interesting to see how they reacted. They weren't quite cub-crazy in the way the girls seemed to be.

"Ummm." Biski paused, not really wanting to say. "I was practicing hunting, but I'm not very good at it. You were a welcome distraction!" Her tail swished behind her, feeling bad that she had abandoned her 'duties', but she didn't like them. Maybe she'd change for something else, but she didn't really know how to do that...maybe she'd ask her mom about it later.
"Someday I might get good at it, but I'm not sure. I didn't want to bother Lisi, since she'd be a bit more busy with Hamamu and all..."

"Oh?" Kafara said, not hesitating to continue smiling at the youth. Even if she was easily distracted from her practice, she was making an effort- they'd seen and heard. She looked over to Enzi with a smile.
"You know who could help with that?" she asked.
"Didn't your grandma Shani take you out hunting with everybody else?" he asked, glancing over from Kafara to Biski. They had been the ones to ask his mother to take the cubs out when they were old enough to get started as hunters. But the group would have been three times the size it was when they had gone out with her when they were learning.
"I'm sure she'd love to help you, Biski!"

Biski thought about it. Yeah, maybe. "Okay, maybe I'll do that!" It always helped to have someone else around, and Grandma was good at it. Hell, anyone was, but it would be fun to go with Grandma Shani indeed!
"Maybe I could ask her about that now..." she said, not really wanted to just leave them, but not wanting to chicken out, either. Lisi might want to go, too, if someone watched her little girl. "If that seems like a good idea?" she perked up.
