Sharath had learned to fly at Ghenza, an activity Amelia had yearned for practicallly since she Impressed. The gold wasn't exactly dazzling in flight - not like the greens who could fly circles about her in a buzz - but she was majesty, huge and commanding and it was an experience the goldrider was hellbent on having.
As such, she'd somehow procured a sizeable length of riding strap someone hadn't wanted any more and had turned it into a rough anchor point to wrap around her legs. The first time she'd mounted Sharath had been both terrifying and exhilirating - and they hadn't even taken to the air yet!
It had been enough to soothe her ambition some, however, and now she would frequently practice riding Sharath with the simple leather strap slung around the base of her neck.
Even now, she'd just finished adjusting the strap and was about to clamber up on the gold - Sharath was laying on her belly, one hand held up for Amelia to use as a platform from ground to shoulder.

Ever since she was a hatchling, Lofrewth had longed to fly. Since coming to Ghenza, however, the desire had only intensified. Lofrewth hated it here. She hated it a lot. It was a compilation of all the things she wasn't, and many of the things she hated. People were unfriendly here, they were paranoid, they were rigid and intolerant. Flying was an escape. Lofrewth wanted to fly now!
<> Lofrewth called mentally.
<> K'ae questioned.
<> Lofrewth replied enthusiastically.
Not a minute later K'ae came bounding out onto the field, cramming the remains of a meat pie in her mouth with her makeshift riding straps slung over her shoulder. Thankfully, she'd had a pretty good idea how to make them after helping T'ka with Haath so many times. "Let's go!" she agreed, only it sounded more like 'emph guh' with the food only partially chewed.
Lofrewth leapt up from her makeshift dirt nest, bouncing a little in place. <> she exclaimed quickly in succession.
"Hold still a minute and crouch down. If you're bouncing around I can't get these on," K'ae complained, jokingly. Lofrewth complied and held still for just a moment while Ka'e slipped the straps on and tightened them, and then quickly mounted Lofrewth's back.
<> She shrieked.

Sharath shifted when Lofrewth suddenly began to bounce around in the distance, the exciteable green kicking up quite the cloud of dust that made the gold snort with amusement. I wonder what she's worked up about...
Amelia had glanced over as well, pausing in her climb to regard the scene and noted K'ae's arrival with a smile, Likely doing the same thing we are, Sharath. Can't blame anyone really. We've been stuck here for months and nobody's taught us anything. It's only natural for the others to want to take to the skies as well.
The gold tossed her head and looked back, whuffling at Amelia as the rider settled herself at the base of Sharath's neck then rose. Flaring her great wings, she rose up on her hind legs and beat them, stretching. Even though she was small for a gold, the display was enough to kick up a massive cloud of dust that left Amelia wondering if Sharath was just posturing or if she was honestly trying to stretch - but she didn't complain, the feel of sheer strength beneath and around her was exhilarating, as always, and left her grinning like a fool. There was nothing she loved better then hanging out with Sharath.
When the young queen finally settled down, she stomped her feet and flicked her tail as Lofrewth approached, crooning a greeting. Closing the gap between them, she noted the riding gear on the green and tilted her head, Are you taking Yours flying? I want to make sure Mine is safe before we chase clouds.

Lofrewth leapt up and down like an excited puppy, jostling K'ae a little in her seat. <> Lofrewth encouraged. Lofrewth had been practicing her heart out for weeks to make sure she could fly K'ae. She'd been carrying rocks and flour bags and all sorts of other things around to make sure she was strong enough. So far she'd flown K'ae twice. Three times if you counted the time K'ae fell off during take-off (Forgot to double check the straps - oops). But a reckless streak a mile wide kept K'ae from worrying about a repeat incident (and she did remember to double check and securely fasten the straps this time) and Lofrewth's draconic memory kept her from remembering that particular accident.
Both flights so far had been short affairs. The first no longer than three minutes, the second no longer than five, but both dragon and rider were terribly eager for more.
Lofrewth leaned forward to butt Sharath lightly on the chest, as if it was necessary to get her attention. <> she said, and chortled happily.
Not sure she could be heard over the numerous vocalizations and noises Lofrewth was making, K'ae offered Amelia a wave instead, and a sort of mock-bow, the best she could offer her jr. weyrwoman, strapped in as she was.
