Dez'i giggled as he started to trot ahead of his mom. "Come on mommy!" He giggled as he bounced from rock to rock. He was practicing his balance right now if he was to get into a fight he was prepared to hold his ground he was prepared to not fall and to hold his own. For now anyway. The rocks were large enough for him to place all four paws on once he landed on them but he knew for a fact that there was a rule following him as he jumped from place to place. He wasn't allowed to wander too far away from his mother. He had to stop and wait at times to look back and make sure that she wasn't that far away and that he wasn't leaving her. He stopped and looked back at her with a large grin still on his face.
"Are we going to get dinner soon mama?" He asked as he sat back on the rock, cocking his head to the side as he did. He waited for her to get closer as he stood back up and bounced forward a few more rocks. He giggled again before leaping to the next one. However this time he wasn't so lucky to keep his balance for it. HE landed on his side with a 'oof' before grunting as he pushed himself back up. "Oops..." He said as he pulled himself back up to his feet and waited for the lioness to catch up agian. He was going to take a break from hopping around for a few moments.
Little did the two lions know they were soon to be stumbling across the large male known as Ceyx. He was taking a break from the pridal lands that he was born into. He loved his pride, his family, everything about it. However just something about it made him feel like he didn't belong. He was born to a large litter. He was in fact born to the ceaser the highest ranking male in the pride. He was born to be smart and strong and in fact what he was. But the idea of staying in one place all the time. Living in a pride just hadn't been his thing so far he wanted to see other places. But the most he could do was wander away for a few moments...
He was laying underneath a tree. His large body stretched out fully and his mind was wandering. He wasn't sure when he was going to go back home but he was enjoying the feeling of the late afternoon coming to a end and the evening starting to show it's face to the world, and to him. He wasn't expecting what was coming his way though. Not expecting it at all. He stretched his paws a little more digging his claws into the dirt and rumbling out a bit of a yawn.

She'd gotten used to speaking loudly quite quickly and now it seemed normal for her to do so. Ka'ohu had always liked talking anyway and speaking louder didn't bother her at all. Especially since they were alone most of the time and there was no one around to hear her. Besides, she didn't really care if there was. Dez'i was the focus of her life now and she didn't much care what others thought of it.
"Ah'm coming!! Ah'm coming!!" She followed behind him swiftly, marvelling at how energetic he was, bouncing to and fro. Had she ever been like that? Yes, she enjoyed wrestling as much as the next lion, but bouncing about like that? Woah, it made her tired just watching!!
"Yer tirin' meh out, kiddo!" She called, slowing as he paused to ask her about dinner.
Ka'ohu, as a general rule, was not a hunter. She was a scavenger. She stole prey from other predators - from right under their nose, or when they were done. She occasionally hunted when she really had to, but otherwise she went about it the lazy way. She'd quickly learned the benefit of vultures in any case.
She set off after him again as he continued his leaping and laughed as he lost his balance, falling onto his side. She reached him just as he got up, rubbing her head firmly against his shoulder as she did so. "Wanna help meh look fer the vultures, eh?" She grinned. "Seein' as yah 'ave so much energy today."

Dez'i giggled as he heard the lioness told her that she was getting tired. He knew he was energetic but he wasn't exactly aware at how energetic he was exactly. He knew that he tired out the older lioness and he knew that he loved to make other look at him and go 'where does all of that come from'. He had to be energtic! He had to be able to train to be a warrior he was going to do it and nothing was going to stop him from doing it. That was the idea that he basically had programed into his mind. He paused and giggled slightly before nodding up at the lioness. "Sorry mom I'm gonna take a break."
He looked around and puffed his chest up a the idea. "Of course I'm going to help! I have to help take care of you too mom!" He then started to run forward a little more. "Maybe there are some this way. As he pushed his way through the bushes he came across omsething that he was not expecting at all. A large lion, VERY large lion who was sitting there. "WHOA." He said loudly as he looked at him. "ARE YOU A WARRIOR?" He asked boldly as he ran closer to the male. He hadn't seen a lion this big in his life.
Ceyx shifted slightly where he was sitting. Shaking his mane out slightly as he did. It was obvious to see grass and other things gathering in his white mane, part of his pride was to show the best of themselves so out of habit he tended to keep himself as clean as possible. He was about to start cleaning his paws and was about ot start getting ready for a nap before the sound of something caught the attention of his ears.
They pointed in the direction of the pair coming his way. He turned his head and smiled at the cub running at him. "Well hello to you too." He chuckled slightly as he sat up looking at the little cub. "Yes I am a warrior little one." He glanced up at the lioness following him and smiled at her. He was pretty curiousa bout the pair coming his way.

And.......he was off again.
She laughed, shaking her head a little as she followed after him, glad that he was willing to help but in disbelief at how much energy he still had!
Her bright eyes watched after him as he ran forwards more, disappearing amongst the bushes a moment later. The moment he got out of sight, she automatically quickened her pace, faltering for just a second as she heard him cry out.
"Dez'i?" Her voice became frantic and suddenly she was moving faster than she ever had before. She shoved roughly through the hedgerow and emerged just in time to see a large lion sitting up.
"Dez'i!!" She exclaimed. "Get away from him!!" Protective instincts snatched away whatever other senses she may have had and suddenly she was springing forwards, putting herself between the huge male lion and her son. She growled at him, seeming not to notice that he was smiling and certainly not looking in anyway a threat.

Dez'i looked up at the male with wide and surprised look on his face. He was a warrior! He was so excited, Dez'i met a warrior! He was so amazed, so many questions came into his mine. He was so curious about the male he has to many things that were going on, so many idea he was in front of a warrior maybe he could help him? He was about to open his small mouth again. Before he heard the lioness speak to him. He arched a brow before quickly backing up he didn't want to make his mom mad at him. He was avoiding that constantly. "But mom! Mom! He's a warrior!"
He looked over at the large male with wide eyes he really wanted to talk to the male but it looked like his mother wasn't going to let him talk to the male. He was really crossing his paws hoping that his mother was going to let him play. He really wanted to play.
Ceyx's eyes went wide for a moment as he looked at the lioness who chased after the small cub. She was really confued of why the lioness was so angry. The two lions didn't look that much the same. But then again he could'nt say that they weren't related the cub was coming him mom and on top of that she was following him. She shrugged at the idea before smiling at the female. "I promise that I intend not harm miss." He said simply shaking his head for a moment.
"He wasasking me if I'm a warrior. I come from the Bindamu pride, I was raised to be a warrior not only to be a warrior but a strong warrior. He nodded before flicking his hair out of his eyes and smiling at the female. If you don't believe me you can still around miss but I won't mind some compnay.

She snorted, relaxing her posture just very slightly, but certainly keeping her guard up. She'd had a lot of experience with manipulative rogue males and she was fed up with looking like a fool.
Yeah...cos she didn't look like a fool already?
"Any big male could say they're a warrior." She replied, somewhat rudely. "We dun know yoos. Yoos could be anyone, eh?" She took a step forwards, lifting her head to glare at him, almost as if trying to read into his thoughts.
"Ah ain't gonna let yoos males trick meh, yoos got tha'?"

Dez'i looked up at her mother with his ears pinned back, he didn't know what to say, he wanted to tell his mother that he had to be a warrior. He looked like he could have been one! Sure he was young and wanted to believe everything that anyone told him. But he wanted to respect his mother. He wasn't about to jump forward and tell his mother that she was wrong. Oh no! She was taking care of him with out wanting anything back he wasn't about to ruin that~
"But mama..." He said quietly as he looked up at her once more, he was going to stay quiet from there. He was crossing his little toes. What if he really was a warrior!?
Ceyx looked down at the lioness and shook his head. He wasn't about to raise a paw or get mad at her, she was just protecting her cub right? He pulled his paws a little closer to himself and looked at her, he was trying to some what stay away from her or at least make her feel like he wasn't invading his space. He wasn't in the mood for a fight and even though he was sure he could take her on.
""I promise miss that I mean no harm to you, or your cub." He shook his head at the idea he really didn't want to harm her. "My name is Ceyx," he was going to try to quickly explain himself. "I come from the Bindamu pride. I was raised the kings son and I was raised never to hurt a female or for that matter a cub. I basically come from a pride of warriors. However that 'home' doesn't feel like much of a home. So that is why I'm out here." He then glanced at the cub. "If you are willing to let me I can tell your boy what ever he wants to know about being a warrior, but if you don't I will leave you two to continue on and I'll stay out of your hair."
"Oh please Mama!" The cub said quickly as he moved a little closer and looked up at the large lion. "He looks like he means it." He looked up again and his eyes grew bright. "Can warriors be deaf?" He asked curiously. A larger smile grew on his face as he got a nod. "SEE MAMA!"

She stood quite still, her body rigid. She did not trust him, that much was clear. It would probably take her a long time to ever trust a male again - other than Dev'i, of course. But a cub was different. They were beautiful and innocent and untouched by the bitterness of life that crafted adults into manipulative beasts.
This one did seem polite and he certainly hadn't made a threatening move. But did she trust him? Hell no!
"A King's Son? A noble warrior? Pah! Soun's like a made-up story to meh." She huffed, sitting quite suddenly, her blue eyes narrowed. "Ah dun trust yoos, not one li'l bit." And then she glanced down at her son, pleading, desperate to learn what she could not teach him. She sighed, her ears folding back very slightly. "Weh'll stay fer a bit. Not long." She replied after a moment. "Then weh'll be off." She blinked and made a circling gesture with her paw. "Ask him yer question's then, kiddo."

Dez'i looked at his mother as she finally gave approval for them to stay, he moved a little closer to the male so that he could hear him. He didn't like to explain to everyone that he couldn't hear well unless others were close. So times like this he was going to avoid having to tell the large lion that he couldn't hear well. "Mama I think he means it." The little cub said simply. Or at least with a lot of hope in his voice.
He looked at the large male trying to figure out what to ask him. "How do you become a warrior? Do I have to train a lot? I have to fight people right? Is it fun?"The questions rolled out of his mouth quickly as he looked up.
He shrugged off the lioness's words telling him that he had to have made up a story. He looked down at the cub before he started talking. "I was trained since I was little to be a warrior. My father always wanted me to be one so I studied and I made sure to practice every day." He chuckled slightly before nodding. "You have to train as much as you can. I know that I live in a pride so I don't have to move around much. But any chance you get you should try to train." He nodded and smiled before he flicked his hair out of his eyes. "It depends If it is something that you enjoy then it will be a lot of fun. Some times it is a lot of work but most of the time it's fun."
He then paused and looked down at the cub. "you need some one to teach you though. Maybe your mom could help? You need some one to help you out and push you. You need to have some one to train you." He nodded at at the idea sitting back on his haunches as he explain it to the cub.
He listened carefully trying to take in all that the large lion was telling him. He was excited to learn about it. But then at the male's last comment his eyes widened more. "Mama said she can't train me." His ears folded back and he looked down at his paws. He was kind of sad. He wasn't going to have some one to train him. but then an idea poped into his mind. "If you like the roguelands better then why don't you live with me and mama!"
He giggled and he ran toward his mother rubbing against her ankles and grinning up at her. "Mama! We should take him in. He can help us!" She gigggled a little more before looking back at the male then back toward his mother. "We can bbe a big family and he can help me train! Oh, please mama!"

She never took her eyes off of him. Not once. They were narrowed, untrusting and even slightly angry. Her tail thrashed from side to side as the cub and the male conversed. She didn't like this. Not one little bit.
Her promises to help Dez'i to become a warrior were coming back to bite her in the face. She just hoped it wasn't going to leave scars.
And then suddenly Dez'i was calling out to her and she blinked, forcing her gaze upon his shining face. He seemed so excited about it all and to say no would be to crush all of that. The kid had just lost his parents...could she really say no?
"He lives in a pride, Dez'i." She spoke gruffly. "They 'ave rules an' stuff. He can't jes up an' leave 'em!" She stood. "Ain't that right?" She glared pointedly at the male now. "'Sides, we dun know yoos."

"I don't know if your mom would like if I helped you little one..." The little lion didn't hear what the male said or for that matter did he want to hear it. He looked up at the lioness with wide eyes. "but mom!" "I could technically leave when I want." the male nodded before he shrugged. "I've been thinking about leaving for a while. I not one for pride life and well... My mom and dad wont mind as long as I say something" "Oh please mom!" He begged his eyes wide. "We can get to know him! He squeaked before he glanced at the male. He was trying his hardest.
"We can get to know him. His name is Ceyx! He told us that, and he's a warrior. He can teach me mom!" She moved closer to her mother nuzzling against her legs and purring quietly.
Ceyx looked at the little cub and the lioness he felt a little bad he felt like he started something that he was not supposed to start. "Don't make your mom mad little one..." His voice trailed for a moment as he looked at the cub.

Her hearted melted - just a little bit - and she gave a sound somewhere between a growl and a sigh. What was she to do with this little one? She wanted so desperately to protect him but...was her own thoughts on males stopping him from getting the training her so desperately wanted?
Not all males were like the ones she had come to know...her father hadn't been, after all.
"Fine. Yoos can stay with us fer a couple a days, go' tha'? An' if yoos trip up an' cos troubles, yoos are gonna live to regret it." She huffed noisily.
"Righ', now, let's go and get yoos some food, little guy." She gave Dez'i an affectionate nuzzle and a gentle shove in the direction they had been heading before being diverted. But her eyes stayed firmly on Ceyx.
"Ah'm watchin' yoos." She warned under her breath.

Dez'i could have screamed at what his mother declared as her final word. His eyes lit up and he let out a squeak. "YAY!" He grinned ear to ear before he started to run he wasn't that sure where he was running to, he ran around both of the adults, going as fast as his little paws could carry him. "YAY!YAY!YAY!" He keep screaming before he looked at his mother and nuzzled her. "Thank you! Thank you mommy!" He giggled as his running started to turn into more of a bounce. He was bouncing around like a little rabbit.
"I'm gonna be a warrior~" He repeated in a sing-song voice as he bounced from place to place. He couldn't help it. He was an excited little cub. He giggled before he looked at the two. "Whats for dinner! We can all go find vultures and get what they are eating!" he giggled obviously getting used to his mom's idea of a meal.
"Understandable." He said quietly back to the lioness before he smiled slightly. "I'll stay out of trouble." He then paused as he looked at the two and nodded at them. "I caught a meal not that long ago, I was waiting for a little bit. It's big enough for us, and It's still fresh I made sure to hide it well." He chuckled slightly at the idea before he turned around.
He flicked his tail around with a smile. "Unless you guys had something planned, in that case I'll meet you back here." He didn't want to force them to do anything when he already seemed to be on a short string.

She smiled, even laughing a little as her son bounced around as happy as could be. Perhaps it would be worth it after all, to see him so happy as this. He deserved it, after all.
And then her ears turned towards the male and her eyes followed, blinking slowly. "Yoos hid it well?" She exhaled. "Ah'm an expert at findin' what's not s'posed tah be found. Yer lookin' at a skilled scavenger, righ' 'ere!" Possibly not something to be proud of...but clearly, Ka'ohu was.
"An', ah guess, if yer offerin', we'll 'elp clear up yer kill." When it came to food...she certainly had no pride.
And then she realised. Had she even given her name yet? "Ah'm Ka'ohu..." And she added hastily. "But jus' cos yer offerin' food dun mean ah trust yeh!"

Ceyx nodded to her. "Hid it really well." He smiled slightly he was glad that she was going to be able to help him find it. He lifted himself to his paws and then looked at the two smaller lions, some times he really hated being so small. "That is understandable. I really hope that I can claim your trust though." He grinned and then flicked his hair out of his eyes. "And it's nice to meet you Ka'ohu." He looked toward the west before nodding his head. "It's about in that direction."
Dez'i grinned ear to ear. "Yay food!" He giggled as he moved and stood in between his mother's paws. He was glad that she was happy. He could tell that she seemed that much happier because he was. He was enjoying that. "Thank you again mommy." He said a little more quietly as he nuzzled into her leg before looking over at the male. "My name is Dez'i." He said simply before trotting forward a few steps. "Lets go eat!
