Kato had found his home here. It was away from most of his family though his sister was about here and there. It was something that he was grateful for as his sister meant the world to him. His own twin. He had met various lions since joining the pride, none which he would call a friend but various he would probably go and talk to. He enjoyed his life.
Today he had decided to go for a walk, he hadn't been wandering for a while. He never went too far but far enough to get away from the noise of all the youngsters. There seemed to be so many in the pride now it was nice to just break off and get away sometimes. He did love cubs, he envied them sometimes, the freedom they had. Sometimes he did however need space and somewhere quiet to go and that was the reason for his walk today. Space to be able to think.

Having just returned from a successful hunt Epesi was looking forward to winding down and relaxing. She stretched out over the length of one of her favorite tree roots, two legs dangling over the side so that her paws dipped into the water below. It felt cool, and nice and refreshing for that matter. When Kato came strolling by she was a bit deep in relaxation, but cracked her eyes open lazily when she felt the presence of another. She was a bit far out from the heart of the pride. Maybe great minds thought alike.
"Kato, isn't it?" She called over by way of greeting, otherwise not moving from her spot, perfectly content to stay there for now. She was familiar with just about everyone in the pride, especially after the incident. Everyone had been so wary for a good while.

Kato looked up at his name and cursed himself silently for not noticing she was there. He should really have been more alert, most lions were still. Oh well it wasn't anyone he had to worry about so maybe luck was on his side today.
"It is. Epesi, isn't it?" His memory wasn't the best but he did seem to be good at remembering names. It was something he found came in useful every now and again.
Remembering his manners he walked towards her dipping his head in greeting. After all he couldn't expect a female to get up and walk to him. It wasn't how he was brought up and she did look so relaxed.
"Nice day isn't it?" Okay so he wasn't the best conversation starter.

"It is." She smiled, lifting her front paw from the water to shake it out, bringing it up to rest on the tree root along side the other instead. Which question she'd answered, well, really both, but it might not be so clear. "Just out for a stroll today, or on your way out for a hunt? If not, would you care to join me for a bit?"

Kato wasn't sure what question she answered but assumed that it was at least the first or she would have corrected him on her name.
"I was strolling I guess, too many cubs by the dens. Need some space to think." He smiled and nodded more then happy to join her. There was no harm in having some company and it wasn't like they would be disturbed by cubs out here either.
"What is your reason for being so far out? If you don't mind me asking?" He really wasn't too good at conversations but it surely was better then sitting in silence.
