I know that everyone here loves L. I, myself, am an L cosplayer. It just makes me feel bad when my beloved successors, Near and Mello, are left out of conversation in guilds such as this.
I would like everyone to say something about Near and Mello in this topic. Lay everything out for all eyes to see.

I think it's just because deep down we're (Yes, I do count as 'we'!!) all just upset that L dies...and if he didn't die we wouldn't have met Near or Mello...

Mello, Mr. 2, is actually a good guy. He never wanted Light's dad to die and he never wanted Matt to die.

i think Mello is acteuly a very nice guy he never ment to kill Matt and he actuely had emotions unlike Near who thought the case was just a game "its over Light you lost the game"

I'm with Mello for the reasons stated above plus in the end he knew he would die so they would win. He was a martyr to the cause but didn't want Matt to be one too. Near himself said without Mello he wouldn't have been able to do it.

Personally, Mello was a favorite (:
He seemed a bit...rough, and went about things in an extreme way (Kidnapping Sayu, Dying), but his intent never WAS to hurt anyone.
And he clearly showed remorse when his friend died.
On top of that, his process of thinking was incredible, as was his attitude throughout, he was a trooper all the way (:
AND, I love him to pieces~
As for Near, he seemed a bit....soft in a cold way.
But that was what got him to the very end, I suppose.
I would have liked to see hi an Mello work together more.

Well...I like Near more than Mello, no offense to any Mello fans. I just find Near to be adorable but sadistic at the same time.

Fairy-Amazon Well...I like Near more than Mello, no offense to any Mello fans. I just find Near to be adorable but sadistic at the same time. Mello is also sadistic biggrin

I would say Near. He is basically me but white hair. But I love matt, just because he died awesome. So Idk I would say both actually.
