She was hooooome. It had never felt so good to return to a place before and only now that she was back did she realise that she had been incredibly homesick. This place was warm and peaceful and pleasant and people liked them! They didn't mind that she was a Goddess! They just wanted to be her friends.
If this wasn't the perfect place for her children to grow up, she had no idea what was.
She was lying in the den, her head pillowed against her loved one's large, strong shoulder. He was bigger than her, quite a bit bigger, actually, but she seemed not to mind being dwarfed. She'd always been a petite little thing and even now, on the border of her adult life, it was clear she'd always be smaller than average. Probably best then that she only carried two little cubs in there...
Two little souls, shining there, unseen by all except for Mtima. She had told her there was two of them, but not whether they were boys or girls. Rokopelli didn't much care about that, though. She just wanted them to be happy and healthy. She wanted to be one big happy family.
She smiled warmly, shifting to rub her chin back and forth against Silos' shoulder with great affection. Her love and adoration was clear in both of her eyes and it was clear that could never be anyone else but him.
At this moment in time, the love of her life just so happened to be sleeping...and though she understood the wonders of sleep, it wasn't so good when she was awake and wanted attention. But should she wake him? He did look awfully cute sleeping there, his handsome face so relaxed and gentle, the bangs of his golden mane falling down in front of his eyes. Even in full growth he hadn't gained a 'full' mane, but she was glad. It meant that he'd never really 'grow-up'. He'd always be her happy, playful and youthful Silos. And she, in turn, would not be expected to grow up either.
Not really...anyway.
The cubs started their little dance again, a somewhat unsettling feeling but not exactly painful. Rokopelli often wondered whether they were playing in there. Tumbling around. Wrestling. If they were, she wished they'd watch where they were kicking their paws! Her tummy didn't really appreciate it, especially when she was trying to sleeeeeep.
"Go to sleepies, babies!" She cooed softly, shifting so that she was lying more comfortably against her new lion-pillow. "Your Mummy wants sleepies!" But it was no use. Her voice - if it did anything at all - only seemed to excite them further. She sighed, rolling her eyes, and wondered whether they'd be so bouncy and playful once they were out and about.
But when would that beeeeee?
She wanted to be a mummy right now! She'd been waiting forever, and now she had her den in a place she felt safe, she was ready for them to arrive. But it had been days and days and still nothing! She was actually starting to think they might never arrive and she'd end up just getting fatter and fatter until she couldn't walk at all! A silly prospect, of course, but one that had quite often visited her confused mind.
"Fine. Let's go for a walk!" And she started to gather her paws beneath her when all of a sudden a constricting pain froze her. Her eyes widened in shock. She'd never felt anything like it in her life and boy did it hurt.
"Ahhh!! Argh...!" She tried to form a word but failed and sank very, very slowly back to the ground, whimpering and rolling onto her side. Only then did she find her voice.
"Silos! Silos!" Paused, drew in a ragged breath. "SILOSSSS!!!!"
