In a just, albeit mind boggling, turn in the BP oil leak debacle ( aka The Ruin Our Oceans scandal), Republican Congressman Joe Barton was forced to apologize for his apology to BP. You see, Rep. Barton thought BP being forced to issue a $20 billion fund for relief and cleanup amounted to a "shakedown"...and said so publicly. Now, you can scream partisanship (which Republicans do whenever their shenanigans are called, but that's another story...) but this one seems like the recantation is only fair. BP, after all, is foreign controlled company, has caused the greatest marine disaster is American history. Anyone who has read my previous posts knows my stance on this one.

The real question is this - is Barton is Big Oil's pocket? After all, this isn't the first time he's shown undue deference and respect to oil companies...anyone want to guess who major contributors to his campaigns are?
