- Bio: The smell of damp clay, the thrill of the hunt, the thrum of bow string. Fear of rising tides, hotter summers and punishing rain. Running through vast broadleaf forests, the changing land, the birth of pottery. A new generation born of growing settlements, instead of caves. It was the age of change. At first people were fearful, thinking the change a punishment of the gods. But it was soon seen as a gift. Their Age, the foundations of the future culture of Japan. It was to this age Katashi was born. He lived as all men, the hunters and protectors of the settlement. His life short by modern standards, but to the people of the Jomon Age, he lived a good life. As a man of 17, he was close and loyal to his family. Hunting often as suiting the peoples needs. His death sentenced the day he shielded his sibling from a predator attack. With festering wounds he gradually weakened, and rather than be a burden to his family he ended his own life.
Like all, his human years had made their mark on his soul, but no trace remained in his conscious memory. Sometimes at night, his dreams bespoke of another life, events and hauntingly familiar faces, but nothing more.
In the times of peace of harmony, the commonplace of Soul’s was an easy place to live. The intelligence of resident families and Soul’s, developed Soul Society far beyond that of the human realm. But in coming their he was born anew. His mind open to the language, new culture and skills. In these early days, the life of a Soul was a relatively easy one. So much so it was many years before his eventual application to the Gotei 13. Its methods and training more strenuous with new recruits. But as to its teachings it varied between its squads. It wasn’t long before he was thrown in with the weakest and those showing least potential, Squad 4. Thinking back he counted himself lucky, that they‘d selected him that day. But in his youth, the gesture had stung.
In his early years the young Katashi laughed and socialised often. His drive and focus barely acceptable in anything other than healing, and when entertaining. A harmless prankster, he was occasionally the bane of his Officers, especially when he teased and bated the disruptive patients. His goal, to try and get their bad behaviour caught by his superiors and Captain. If not that he could always lead them and leave them in the sewers for a night or two. (Rumours of this was often enough to gain the squad a little bit of peace from the rowdy sort.) Other than that he was highly indulgent during his time off duty, and a man who openly voiced his dislike of the things Squad 12 did. But other than that he was the friendly sort, a simple man with simple ideals. Content with his way of life, and those he shared it with. Who would’ve guessed at the trouble brewing?
Thinking back he was busy the day of the fight between the Captain Commander and Kenpachi. But it wasn’t long until the rumours and the retelling of the epic battle, some called it, reached him. For some, even this was enough to shake them, during the time of peace and enlightenment. But what disturbed Katashi more was the unexplainable events that followed…the deaths, the suspicion, the fights. Then came the rumours of officers disrespecting Captains! To a lowly squad member, it’d shaken him to the core. This marked the first of the changes in the man, as he kept his head low, working hard at his duties. Hoping that one day it’d all return to how it used to be…but then came the flames.
Like the destructive and devouring flames of cremation, the fires gradually consumed the buildings, the officers, his youth. During the time of the flames, many things were a blur. Day by day the squad struggled to save the mounting bodies. Katashi only sleeping, when overcome by exhaustion. Eating only when forced to. His patients including his own officers and later on his Captain. Many of which died because of their injuries. His Captain surviving, only to be killed later on that day. But not before officially elevating him a numbered seat. Which Katashi would never remember, for soon after he’d found his Captains body in the nearby ruins. His own left arm devoured by the flames in the attempt to save an unnamed woman.
By mid afternoon he’d ordered all to make a makeshift wards in the Sewers. Utilising their passageways, to transport patients, and as a way to protect the remaining survivors. His reason, the fear of the quickly approaching fire. The action, saving both lives and the much needed medical supplies from devouring flames. It was long after the ashes had cooled that he and his squad emerged from their temporary base. The destruction…devastating. It wasn’t long after that as the highest ranking, surviving officer, he was summoned before the Captain Commander. Bone weary, in tattered uniform, his hair slightly singed and dishevelled. The burns of his chest and now missing arm, heavily bandaged. But despite all that, he’d survived. It was a little while after that he started to see the forced development in his healing abilities. What came first was the sudden elevation to the Captains seat. The moves he’d seen as only necessary at the time, commended as acts of genius. His actions despite his injuries, somehow heroic. Brushing aside the comments with as much politeness as his tired mind could muster. He returned to his squad, but not before rejecting the temporary white robes that supplemented the loss of many Haori’s. Its significance to the loss of many Captains, still too raw, too painful.
It took many years before he started to feel the semblance of normality. Whilst Soul Society itself took at least 200 to be fully finished. By this time he was well established in his position. The squad once again full enough to fill the officer seats with capable men and women. Whilst Katashi himself relished in the slight echo of, the time of enlightenment. It was now, that some voiced fears on the technical advancement of Squad 12. But to his squad and those around him, he spoke of the benefits of advancement. His own reconstructed, and almost fully moveable, mechanical arm, one of the squads many success stories. Like all things it had its restrictions and limitations, but by shortening and taking some metal from his Zanpakuto. Then later infusing that into the structure of the mechanical arm, It allowed him to channel some spiritual energy for healing or kidou.
In the time that followed, further troubling news reached Soul Society. Soon followed by a long list of troubling events, during some of which he found himself also deeply effected. By what, he wouldn’t admit to anyone. Its effects subtle enough to conceal. The outcome, luckily didn’t hinder his abilities as he saw to the healing of the returning “Elite”. Their lost memories, even he couldn’t explain. So he instead turned inward. Spending a lot of time alone in his office, seemingly brooding. As he tried to think, or explain the presence of the new beings. His own…experience, enough to give him the upper hand. But was he willing to pay the price of his exposure? Only time would tell.

Kido
- Bakudō: 1. Restrain (塞, sai) -Locks a target's arms in place behind their back.
4. Crawling Rope (這縄, hainawa) -An energy rope entangles a target's arms.
8. Repulse (斥, seki) -Creates a round shield that seems to temporarily paralyze and repel whatever strikes it
9. Strike (撃, geki) -Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them. Incantation: Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!
9. Hōrin (Disintegrating Circle) -Causes an orange hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns to erupt from the users hand and attempt to trap a target. the end of it remains in the hands of the user allowing them to control the path of the tendril before and after capture. The Kidō is able to connect with another one of itself if both have captured a target and bind them together.
Incantation: "Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and tear out your own throat!"
12. Fushibi: -A net formed from an attachment point on the caster, can be small or large depending ong the reiatsu force behind it.
21. Red Smoke Escape (赤煙遁, sekienton) -Creates a blast upon activation and is used like a ninja's smoke bomb.
26. Curving Light (曲光, kyakko) -Hides the target from sight, presumably by bending light.
30. Beak-Stab Triple Beam (嘴突三閃, Shitotsu Sansen) - Shoots three beams of light that pin the target to one place on a surface, slamming into his/her body in three places in a shape of a perfect triangle.
37. Suspending Star (吊星, tsuriboshi) -Creates a star-shaped cushion of Spiritual Energy, which anchors it to nearby objects with "ropes" of spirit particles. It can stop falling objects, acting like a safety net.
39. Arc Shield (円閘扇, enkosen) -Summons a shield of energy to block opponents' attacks.
58. Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows (摑趾追雀, kakushitsuijaku) -Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.
Incantation: Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain.
- Hadō: 1. Thrust (衝, shō) -Pushes the target away from the caster.
4. White Lightning (白雷, byakurai) -Fires a concentrated bolt of white lightning from the caster's forefinger.
11. Bound Lightning (製本雷, tsuzuri raiden) -Electric current flows through any object the user touches and is able to lead electricity, damaging any target that is in contact with the object the current runs through.
31. Shot of Red Fire (赤火砲, shakkahō, Red Flame Cannon in the English dub) -Fires a ball of red fire at a target.
Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south!
33. Blue Fire, Crash Down (蒼火墜, sōkatsui, Pale Fire Crash in the English dub) -Fires a column of blue fire at a target in a similar manner to 31, but over a wider area and with more power.
Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! In the English dub, it is read as "Ruler, the mask of blood and flesh, all things in the universe that fly, that which names all! In the name of truth and temperance, dig your claws into the wall of sinless dreams!
54. Abolishing Flames (廃炎, haien) -Fires a blast of purple fire that will incinerate a target completely when it makes contact.
58. Orchid Sky (闐嵐, tenran) - A widening tornado-like blast is fired towards the target.
- Healing spells: Chiyudo #5-Kai Kizu - This kidou is used to heal cuts. Does absolutely nothing for internal. It's performed by simply passing over the cut with your palm, while concentrating an appropriate amount of spiritual energy in it. The used amoubnt of reiryoku is rather low, but must be measured precisely, otherwise a scar would be left after the healing procedure.
Chiyudou #7-Kogoeru - This is mainly used for lowering body temperatures as this kidou allows you to control the body temperature of the patient. The user puts his left hand on the patient's forehead and leaks out a small part of his own spiritual energy to flow through the patient.
Chiyudou #13- Suuxicchi auto sono Doku - In this kidou the caster puts their hand on the patients back and says the spell. Then the poison in the patient body gets transferred to the healers body and winds up storing itself into their mouth. So in small terms, the poison transfers from the patient to the healers mouth where they can just spit it out... or onto someone. Despite the low number, and the low amount of energy required, this can be a demanding technique since it requires the caster's full attention as to not poison himself.
Chiyudou #16-Nenshou Tenti - This kidou creates a flow of reiatsu that first soothes the burn and then repairs them. As most of the healing kidou, it is cast by hovering the user's palms over the wound.
Chiyudou #62-Shukketsu Kokoro - Reiatsu soaks into the body and enters any inner body part that is suffering from internal bleeding. You must be directly above the body to execute this kidou, and use both palms facing downwards to literally soak the patient's body with your spiritual energy. A rather demanding technique that also requires a high level of spiritual energy. This is also good for any internal injury and can be used to heal broken bones if you follow the right steps to do so.
Hanos Void ex - A very very VERY advanced healing technique. A dome surrounds a concentrated area and heals any and all injuries of the people who are in the dome. This can be very useful for when the healing room is crowded with patients or on the battle field. This kidou takes an enourmous amount of energy out of its user, even if it is a captain, and you are most likely going to be exhausted and out of breath after performing this little beauty. Can be held up to up to three posts if your still want to be of some use to fighting.
Buraindo Kyuusaisha - This is the kidou that you use if you want to directly heal the bone without going through all the steps with Shukketsu Kokoro. It does absolutely nothing for any damage on the softer tissues, it merely heals the fracture. Of course, the bone must be in its proper position before healing, otherswise it won't heal correctly.
Chiyudou #81-Ikasu - This snazzy little kidou shoots large amounts of reiatsu through the body as a jump start. It. Is. Not. A. Guaranteed. Fix. But it will buy some time to save the patient.
Other
- Hand-to-hand combat: (Hakuda) Medium. Its not his speciality, and a skill he doesn‘t need to use often.
- Agility: (Hohō) Medium-High, reasonably Flexible.
- Swordsmanship: (Zanjutsu) Master level. As expected of a Captain. But because of his profession, he prefers less destructive fighting forms unless the situation calls for it, (or so he says). Though many doubt whether he’s used his zanpakuto in the last hundred or so years.
- Shunpo: Expert. Capable of maintaining high speed movements for extended periods of time. While not as fast as a master they can keep up quite effectively.

(The man, his Zanpakuto and the parasite - RP sample.)
With a hollow scream, and dual jaws opened wide, the man could only stare on in horror as the creature flew towards him. Never in his life had he seen such a thing...never in his life did he think it could invade him here. It hurts so much… He gasped, clutching his head. Move…please…! The man willed himself. His sight wavering, zanpakuto trembling in his grasp. Why here? Why now? A small voice asked, as he looked upon the destruction. The fine buildings, where he and his Zanpakuto once walked, trained, lay in mist and ruin.
Turning then he eyed the approaching creature. Its bleached white mask, a stark contrast to the blackened recesses of its open jaws. Trembling he noted the merciless, ravenous glint, unmistakeable in its eyes. Bared claws tipped already with their drying blood. Move…move now! The man willed, fighting the mist of excruciating pain. His years, his profession, offering him some strength. Steeling his resolve he raised his sword arm, the movement painfully slow. If he had to die, let him at least bring the creature down. There was no telling what damage it’d do if it survived. Maybe if Kaminoiyashi… Suddenly with a flurry of blackened robes, he eyed the subtle colours, mesmerised in their last moments. “Master, that’s a path neither of us wishes to take. Its been an honour serving you…my friend.” In those moments, everything became a blur of blue and blackened mist. “Kaminoiyashiii…?!” He cried, stumbling forward, eyes wide in pain and confusion. “Kamino…” Suddenly he was thrown backwards. His body cast aside as if he weighed little more than a rag doll.
Thinking back he couldn’t remember the amount of buildings he crashed through, only the darkness and the nightmare that followed. To this day he still heard his Zanpakuto Spirit’s last words. Also waking to find his form draped in the healing shrouds, Kaminoiyashi’s last act. What came next was a scene better left for nightmares, (or the future laboratories of Squad 12).
Blinking, he leant heavily on his blade. Mind to numb to sense its emptiness, as he struggled through the mist. What…happened… He thought weakly, stumbling on a piece of rubble. Suddenly then he noticed the strangled murmurs. The voice low, almost childlike. Shivering, the man continued forward, only to stop as he spotted the pacing shadow. Left, right, then left again. He narrowed his eyes, stepping hesitantly forward. A little voice hinted at caution, but he ignored it. His mouth suddenly dry. “Kaminoiya…” The shadow stopped, turning in his direction. Then with a haunting slowness it dropped down onto all fours, with an all too familiar click. “No…” He breathed, reaching the end of the mist.
In all his years as a healer, not one thing had ever repulsed him. Not once had his stomach churned, as he dealt with the most gristly, gory or the most imaginative an injury. Even seeing the bodies of past comrades and friends, laying charred in the ash ridden remains. Though the memories still haunt him, his body had never betrayed him. On the other hand, he’d overlooked the queasiness of others many a time. It was only because of them that he could diagnose what he felt that day.
Suddenly nauseous he crumpled to his knees. Eyes wide, his hand flew to his mouth. This wasn’t happening. This couldn’t be… He thought weakly, sweat beading his brow. Stomach churning, as the creature approached. Dual heads, baring their teeth in a hollow grin. “Mas-ter…”
…
(178 years later, present day. Location: Katashi‘s inner realm.)
“Shouldn’t you know by now my pitiful little…master, that without me you’d be long dead. Without me, you wouldn’t be able to do that, which you enjoy the most?” A deep voice sneered. His form hidden in the ever present mist.
“As you have constantly reminded me over the last, century, or more.” The man sighed, leaning heavily against a crumbling wall. His pained eyes gazing out into what was once a proud realm. “Che, your always like this, this time of year. Don’t tell me you remember it down to exact time…” The voice smirked. Soft clicking of oversized claws announcing his approach.
“3 days, 7 hours and 20 minutes…do you really need to ask?” The man murmured, his head bowed in shame. “Anyway you need me alive…without me you’d also be dead by now. Why else do you heal me each time?” He felt his anger rising. “I wont let you win, I hope you know that you bastar…” “Oi, oi, oi, no need for that sort of language. It doesn’t suit you master-san…” The masked creature chuckled, as he approached. His grin doing little to mask the weariness in his eyes. “And its not like you to speak of manners…bloody hell, I thought it was enough that I picked up some of your habits, now this…?” He grimaced, the chaos in his mind thickening the mist. With an unexpected sigh he loosened the grip on his swords hilt. What should I do Kaminoiyashi…you always had the answers I needed... Tilting his head back, he faced the blackened heavens as if seeking solace. “Come oooon, don’t start moaning after your pitiful, weak Zanpakuto again. He’s gone, well…partially consumed. Either way you’ll not be getting him back, and trying to kill or injure me will only scar yourself in the process….” Looking aside he muttered bitterly. “We’ve shared enough, scars,” The creature grimaced as the mist partially exposed his scarred form. Looking up he suddenly drew back. “Hoi…what are you doing…oi, come oon I thought we were past that…” He steps back again. Eyes drawn to the blade suddenly in his masters hands. “We’re closer than that…come on, must you reeeally punish yourself every…kuso!” The creature leaps aside, the blade slicing deep into his thigh. “Kisama! What did you do that for?!” It yelped, crouching low.
“A hundred years back you wouldn’t have backed down so easily. Just over that and it was you who always attacked me first…come on, damn you. Just draw your weapon already! Damn Hollow!” The man growls, his voice cold, almost distant. Then suddenly without warning he attacked. Blades clashing. His mind no longer caring about the outcome as blood dripped from identical thigh wounds.
“Aho! Will you never learn? Can’t you go and ask squad 12 like a normal little Shinigami…?? Or just get drunk…or something!” The voice growled desperately, their blades locking. “You always end up giving me more work to do…can’t you speak to the Captain…”
“Shut up! You know I can’t. I’ll just end up being one of their bloody lab experiments! Either that or the Sotaicho will lock us up! I wouldn’t be surprised If she does. You’re a threat to Soul Society!” The man shouted bluntly. “What you can do…what I can do, its against the law…” He added hesitantly, his face grim.
“So what?! Even that would be better than putting up with this every bloody year…! Anyway, it was your b*****d Zanpakuto that sealed and bound me like this.” The voice sneers, teeth bared. “Its not like I can escape this place. I can’t even take over your terminally depressed mind…not that I’d want to.” He mutters, before suddenly jumping away from a half-hearted thrust. “OI! I was joking! Its called humour…hu-mour.” The creature snarls, teeth flashing. “You‘ll never take over. NEVER! If that the time ever comes I’d rather die than let you have your way.” The man sighs, his sword dropping from his hands. “ Just leave me alone…just leave me the hell alone!” He ordered, a sudden wave of despair bringing him to his knees. His head bowed.
“As you wish…but know this, I’ll never let you die.” The creature chuckles, his voice so like that of Kaminoiyashi whose mind he controlled. “But if your weak, I wont hesitate in taking over…” He sneers, his mutilated form disappearing into the mist.
“As you keep reminding me…” The man growls bitterly, drawing out of his mind to drink a full cup of Sake. “Kaminoiyashi…you should have trusted me…I never wanted this. We could have died together, but now…” He sighed, unseeing eyes staring at the desk before him. “I have little choice but to live. If only I could kill him…” Katashi shook his head sadly. “Know that I don’t blame you…” The man glanced to his sheathed Zanpakuto, his face crumpling into a sad smile. “We fought and healed many. We survived the Great Fire, and well over 8000 years…but all I want now, is to hear your voice again…” Draining a second cup he buried his head into his hands. “I’ll save you…whatever it takes, I‘ll save you…”
…
(A few days later. Location: Squad 4, Captains office.)
Suddenly at the sharp knock he blinks, his mind taking a while to register the sound. Biting back a grimace he tucked his empty Zanpakuto out of sight, before binding his hair back into its usual warriors tail. “One moment.” He added, rubbing tired eyes and straightening the haori about his shoulders. For a Captain well known for his strict, proper views. He knew full well his thickening stubble would be a great give away to his condition. There is no remedy for regret in all the world…but even then we’ll always seek for it. The Captain smiled wryly to himself, his own poison of choice long forgotten as he called her in. Watching her bow, the man smiled warmly as he placed a name and rank, to her face. But before he could speak she beat him to it. “Taichou!” She suddenly gasps, eyes drawn to the Sake jar. “You of all people should know that drinking is bad for you!” The woman frowned, hands on her hips in a almost motherly gesture. Her young face furrowed in disapproval. “You should really take note of your own teachings. Wasn’t it only last week that you dressed down that Lieutenant…? Then there were those other men the week before that...” Shaking her head, she sighed almost comically. Her mind suddenly registering it was that time of year again. The change itself was so subtle not many realised it, and it never lasted more than a few days. But why, even she couldn’t guess. All she knew was he had a habit of disappearing, drinking or forgetting to do his paperwork. Something that was considered almost a sin any other time of the year. At least he only does it during a quiet week…I suppose I can come back later. She wondered thoughtfully, before suddenly realising she’d just dressed down the Captain in his own office. Flushing a bright pink she quickly bowed. “Please forgive me Kurohama Taichou!” Biting her lip, she straightened and quickly added, “Please don’t drink too much, okay Taichou? I don’t want to have to treat you in the main ward with the others.” She teased.
“I know, as you always tell me,” The proud man replied thoughtfully, knowing how serious her threat was. To think the young woman would use his own protocols against him. They know me too well… He added to himself, biting back a chuckle. I suppose I deserve it. Maybe it’ll be different next year…? The man wondered to himself, as he studied the young squad member. Watching as she frowned down at the Sake Jar. Suddenly clearing his throat, the young woman jolted to attention. “Now then,” He smiled reassuringly. “As to the reason of your visit. Is there anything I can help you with?” He asked her, his face a curious but kindly mask.
“Ah…um, nothing, no its okay, I can handle it…” She flushed, suddenly forgetting why she was there. Wringing her hands she tried to look anywhere other than the Captain and the offending jar. What to do…what to do… Suddenly deciding on the safest option, she bowed low. “Sorry for disturbing you, Kurohama Taichou.” Her voice squeaked, hoping he’d also forget this incident, when he was back to normal. Shuffling back she bit her lip as she murmured a quick, “Good night,” Before slipping out.
“Please, don’t worry about it. See you in the morning,” He smiled warmly, watching as she slid the door closed. Her sudden audible, but comical sigh, bringing laughter to his eyes. I’m lucky to have such caring squad members… With that he placed the stopper into the Sake jar, and returned his Zanpakuto to its stand. He couldn’t let them down. It was too soon after the great fire for the surviving members, then their were those recently joined. Neither should have to suffer the turmoil of a new Captain. He thought, eyes drawn to his thigh where he knew the scar would be. Shaking his head, he found his gaze settling on the mounting stack of papers. These abilities are too beneficial for me to expose it yet. When exposure allows for more gain…or if it becomes unstable, I’ll speak with the Sotaichou. I will make amends for my past decisions. I will accept her judgement. He told himself, not for the first time, as he drew the papers towards him. His mind soon lost to the numbers, reports, files and requests. Until that day, he would continue on. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. “To those who serve under the Bellflower, to one thing they all hold true. With lives marked by hardship, stained by blood. All know, those who grieve, are loved.”

Name: Kiseibutsu (parasite) Race: Hollow Age: 211 Appearance: Unknown Abilities: Kiseibutsu can merging fully (body and mind) with their chosen victim, taking over their body and draining it of its energy and Soul. When it finishes it leaves a lifeless husk of a body, nothing more. Its more sophisticated than others of its kind, expressing a strength in High Speed Regeneration and survival. Bio: Since its beginning its survived many years in the human realm moving from one victim to another. All this changed when it tried to absorb the body of a Shinigami. The man initially unknowing about his presence, made Kiseibutsu over confident until the moment he was faced with the being known as a Zanpakuto Spirit. The arrogant human like thing, put up a good fight, surviving close to the moment when another man joined them. This was the first time it was faced with the Shinigami, the man known as Katashi, or Master, by the Zanpakuto. Whatever was happening the hollow couldn’t comprehend. Knowing only, that it was somehow trapped and that it had to fight for its life.
Torn and beaten, the starved hollow, eyed the two men as it made one last attempt to absorb one of the two. Choosing the Shinigami, as the weaker of two it lunged. The only thing it knew was it needed energy, fully underestimating the loyalty and the bond between the two. With a loud cry he was presented with the more drained of the two, the Zanpakuto. But before he had a chance to fully fuse, he was bound and restrained by a blackened shroud (Kaminoyashi‘s Bankai). His abilities mostly contained, his form stuck in partial fusion. Either way he was successful in overtaking the Zanpakuto’s mind and form. If anything it would survive, trapped in the Shinigami’s Inner world.
In the beginning he quickly realised his loss of hunger. His presence sustained much like that of a Zanpakuto Spirit. Around then he also gradually learned to utilise the mind, memory and the words of his last victim. A fact that angered the Shinigami whose realm he’d invaded. In the beginning he tried to escape often, purposely angering and fighting with the Shinigami. But after a century or more had past, he settled a bit more, his presence more like that of a rebellious Zanpakuto Spirit than Hollow. He even started to use the word, Master, as he utilised his abilities to support the man and his duties. Knowing that his survival depended on that of the Shinigami, as he patiently waited for the day he could finally take over.

Medical/Scientific theories on events The subject (Katashi), expresses no physical or significant behavioural changes since the event. Subtle behaviour alterations are minor, and are not classed as being significant or a threat to others. One thing that is clear is the symbiotic relationship, or rather endosymbiosis, seems beneficial on both parts. The Hollow, using its regenerative abilities to heal its host. Whilst the subject in turn is able to use some of the Hollows other abilities. The manner in which they do this still isn’t clear. Whether through a transfer of ‘powers’, or the link they share with the Zanakuto spirit. One thing that is clear, is that the subject can no longer use his Zanpakuto or its abilities. Skills such as Kidou, Chiyudo and Hoho, haven’t been effected.
Concerning the Zanpakluto spirit. In the process of the hollow absorbing Kaminoiyashi‘s body, it appears the Zanpakuto spirit released its Bankai. Listed as ability 3, “The shroud surrounds the opponent, sealing and binding their abilities. Whether body or limb it restricts movement and/or the flow of spiritual power.” This prevented his full absorption, thus trapping the Hollow in the subjects inner realm. Though due to the rapid rate of absorption, the Zanpakuto Spirit lost both its consciousness and abilities. As of yet its unclear whether this is reversible.
Concerning the Hollow. Due to the partial absorption and the domination of the Zanpakuto’s body and mind, it attained the ability of speech. Though slow to develop, it utilised the mind of the Zanpakuto spirit, learning much about their ‘master’, amongst other things. As of yet the only ability the Hollow can used in its sealed state, is High-speed regeneration. But its theorised that if the Host is weak it may be able to gain more control. If near death its theorised the Hollow may be able to take over. Other than that its unclear whether the Hollow has gained abilities known to be exhibited by Zanpakuto’s. Whilst in behaviour it appears to have lost its hunger, and exhibits submission, or rather an acceptance, of its situation. In terms of personality the subject describes it as being a darker, if slightly cruder version of his past Zanpakuto spirit.
Concerning others and evidence. Due the connection of the Hollow to the Zanpakuto spirit, also with it being sealed, its untraceable. In relation to the abilities used, when absorbing injuries wounds are known to bleed. Heavy bleeding might be difficult to mask, but can be explained as being the patients own blood. Other abilities such as Acid Touch (see bellow), will only occur when the subject is weak. If the Hollow is close to gaining strength or taking over, then others will be able to sense its presence. Though its beneficial to note here the Subject/Host, has experience in knowing his limitations. So to date has never pushed the limitations of their endosymbiotic relationship.
Abilities transferred to Shinigami: -Absorption: In using the Hollows abilities he can absorb a patients Injuries into himself. The technique is painful, but highly effective. Its quicker than Chiyudo, and doesn’t utilise the patients Reiatsu. Any healed this way express quick recovery. Its limitation, is the users pain tolerance. -High-Speed Regeneration: He cannot use it himself, but the hollow in him does it automatically, healing his injuries and those he’s absorbed, rapidly. -Acid Touch: When the hollow in him is strong (usually when exhausted), he cannot come into direct contact with people or the hollow reiatsu in him will burn that person. The effects are similar to being burned by acid, causing great pain and a blackened mark. The effects are slow to heal. -Sensory: He can sense the presence and roughly know the location of Hollows, or Hollow-like beings.
