 It was...odd, having cubs of her own. Especially ones that could See things. Know things that not even their mother could. But...she loved them. She loved each little cub, from quiet and dark Kiyoshi to strong Riowarr to the odd delicate Kyouko. She smiled, laying at the entrance to her den with a content smile on her face. The cubs were old enough to play outside the den now, and she'd carefully placed them just outside the entrance, to sniff and explore and play as they wished under her watchful eye.
Was this how her mother had felt, watching over her and her siblings? She wondered how she would feel once they were all grown...
Kyouko had explored the patch of land a lion-length away from the entrance to the den, curious at all the new sights and smells and sounds. She smiled brightly and purred when she found a particularly sweet smelling thing (Mother had called such a thing a 'flower') and curled around it, enjoying the soft, delicate scent.

He was so happy he could go outside! So much more exciting, fun, wonderful... everything for that matter! It was so much more everything! He loved it, seeing everything around him and all the world had to offer, in its own way.
It was strange though... and he wished he knew where his father was. He wanted to follow around the God for as long as he could, and even if he couldn't, to see what his father saw, do what his father did... and frankly, just be clone of him if he could manage it.
Still, that meant wandering away from his mother and their home, which he knew he wasn't allowed to do... but tempting... so very tempting... He bet if he wandered off he could find bad guys to fight! That would impress his father, and surely his mother as well when she saw how tough he was!
...except he knew she was bound to stop him if he tried anything like that. Shoot.

 Kiyoshi was curled up by the entrance, taking his small snooze in the den, near Kyouko. He never usually left Kyouko's side, and often times, they were the best of friends. He gave a small yawn, and blinked his eyes open.
"What're you doing, Kyo?" He asked her, giving a small flick of his tail to her. He saw the small, flower, as mother had called it, near her, and smiled. "What'd you find?"

Katana'k was torn, about what he should think and what he should do. His instincts from the past were telling him to run, but no, this time was different. This time is was with Nyx. He moved himself slowly, keeping his wings as flat against his back as he could. His children, would they understand, would they fear his appearance? For a moment, he almost decided to cloak himself. He flicked his tail as he walked, and watched from a distance, his three children, his two sons, his daughter. They looked perfect, so perfect and such a bold light was in their hearts from their mother.
This time would be different, he told himself, it had to be.

Nyx kept the closest eye on Riowarr, since Kyouko was, apparently, content with the flower she'd found, and Kiyoshi was still near the entrance of the den. But eyes long used to finding the smallest faults and details the eye could see caught a glimpse of dark fur, and she couldn't help but turn her head in that direction and smile.
Nyx was patient. She'd had to learn how to be. And she would wait as long as it took for Katana'k to overcome his trepidation about the cubs.
Kyouko blinked at Kiyoshi, a bit surprised, but her soft smile returned. "Mother calls it a 'flower', I think." She purred and reached a paw out, as if to beckon him closer. "It smells nice."

Katana'k sat back, removed himself a few yards from Nyx, from his children. So strange. He had fathered cubs before, yes, to the red lioness, but that was for future strength, that was for power, bloodlines, but this, this was for something else, he told himself, this was no longer a game. Was it? Torn, so torn between his past behavior, and what he could be, WHO he could be. He grit his teeth, watched his sons with his eyes. They would become strong, he wondered if his own father would be proud.
His eyes fell onto Nyx, and he felt his heart warm and cool. Her eyes held something so much more than the mortality that captured her body. He wished the wings from her back would sprout forth and would keep her with him always. True, in the beginning, a game was on his mind but now, losing her, someday, whenever that was, he felt the option impossible.
He smiled though, he let loose a smile.
HIs family, this was his, and he cared.
