The female paced back and forth. Her eyes still nervous and worried. She was upset.. Father was upset, and the pack was in an uproar. Her mother had taken into secluding herself the past few months, keeping out of the eyes of the pack, which had been watching her with extreme caution. Most of the pack had taken to being angry at the females actions towards her own daughter.. But they had all expected such a deed from the she-wolf. She was vain, spiteful, and if she couldnt have something no one could.
What it had done to Wazaam though, had been more than Shez had been able to swallow. The orange and blue female was definitely her mothers blood, but she was her fathers daughter. She was loyal to him, and seeing him hurt, hurt her more. She groaned, and pawed at the earth lightly with a sigh.. She had to talk to mother..She had to.
Twist hadn’t neared the pack in quite some time. She was brooding in a far off cave angry at herself for making such careless mistakes by letting the pack know what had happened to her daughter. Algoma should have been more careful then she was. This was her fault. She gave a menicing growl that anyone near her could have herd. THIS is why wolves should have never trusted lynxs. If she would have disposed of her herself instead of letting Algoma play with her she still have her power.
“GOD DAMN MY LUCK TO HELL. And god DAMN that pink b***h for ruining my daughter.”
She wasnt really close, but the sound of the growl had definitely caught her ears. She thought she had smelled her mother, and she had followed the trail. But now she wondered if she really wanted to approach her. Mother had turned on her own blood..Had become something of a.. traitor to her family. Though her family wasnt the type to go out and kill her for it. Which.. Shezaam wondered if they all felt that way, or if it was just her.
Her eyes landed on the form of the blue she-wolf, and she padded slowly closer. It was dangerous, coming this close to Twist right now. But Shezaam did her best to show no fear. She wasnt afraid of her mother.. But she was afraid of what she had become.
She could tell her daughter was there right away and though normally she could collect herself and show another ‘side’. She had finally lost her complete composure. She turned to look at Shezaam. The sleepless nights had been apparent over her face. Her fur was bristled and what wasn’t obviously hadn’t been cleaned down in a good long time. She took several long breathes and tried to calm herself once more before speaking.
“And let me guess you’re here to harass me like the REST of the pack?”
She didn’t need it. She’d chase her own daughter out with her fangs if that was why she was there. She didn’t at all need anymore stress.
Shezaam heard the bitterness in her voice, and she realized that her mother had never spoken in such a tone to her. It made her bristle, and she did her best to hold back the growl that came to her throat.
Clearing her throat, she looked at the shewolf which had seemed to decay and wasnt even dead..Shezaam instantly felt sorry for her.
"Well no. But you should understand why they feel such a way."
She voiced, though it wasnt in a condescending tone. She was past that.
“I DON’T CARE WHAT THEY THINK.” She hissed thinking about the entire situation. “Do they have any idea what it’s like to be a MOTHER and be lied to about your own cub till they find you as and adult, tainted with the foulness of somebody who completely hates everything you’ve ever done?”
The frothe shot from her mouth as the rage went on. Prehaps she’d been less open had it not been her daughter. But she really did love her children…the ones that she qualified to be her children anyway. Once that pink b***h had stolen her daughter she no longer thought of her as blood. But that was just the way Twist thought. Had Tempeste been raised with Twist she would have loved her like any one of her other children.
Shezaam understood the anger the other felt.. Though she tried to keep her mind clear. Her father had been talking of leaving the packlands for good.. Giving up his role and retreating for a safer life. He hated what the pack had become, and what Twist had become most of all. Shezaam knew that Wazaam had been tricked rather wickedly, but she knew deep down that the two had a love all their own. She had to save her mother..But she wasnt sure how her mother would take it.
"That being as it is.. Have you spoken to father lately?"
Twist turned her head towards her daugher, looked her straight in the eye. You could see the color dropping from every cell in her face. It had been like the question had been a car and it had just broadsided the female. Her ears flattened agaist her head and she lost all the anger that had once coursed threw her veins. You could really see how thin she had gotten once her fur calmed.
“No. But he wouldn’t want to speak with me.”
Her head then slumped down and she had to keep herself from collapsing from the pain about thinking about her mate. Her life was him was over even if she wanted otherwise. She really did love him.
"Depends on what you had to say to him." She responded. She tried to be easy on her mother, knowing she was in a rough place. But it was hard to be kind to someone who had turned on her own blood, it didnt matter who raised them. Shezaam knew Tempeste wasnt inately evil, and even so, Tempeste had been visiting in hopes that her parents were different than the stories she was told.. All Twist had done, was confirm all her fears.
"Father is in pain. He has grown tired of his role, and Ive heard talk of him leaving the pack.. Though he has not told me this himself, mind you." Hearsay was bad to spread..But it was so.. different a wolf than Wazaam seemed to be that she believed it. No one would expect such a thing from him. His mate was Twist, and he loved her.. But Shezaam knew that love had torn him up inside, and the betrayal had done little to soothe him.
“I- I - I wouldn’t know the first thing to say to him.” She stammered out which was different then the wolfess she had been. “And anyway I don’t think he’d even forgive me for attacking my own dau- dau…blood.” She choked on the word still not being able to admit that the wolfess she had tried to kill was related to her.
“And in all honesty. I don’t care about the pack. I don’t want to rule them anymore. You can have them for all I care.” That would be her only official word turning the pack over to her daughter. She wouldn’t have to say anything else on that matter because her daughter was smart enough to get it.
When her mother handed the pack over to her, she had to admit she was extremely surprised.. But she was pleased. She knew she could make the pack a better place, though the war was coming, and she could feel it. The evil blood within the pack would either have to bow down, or get out. She'd have it no other way.
"You should try. Mother, when has father ever been anything less than kind to you? Even now.. he has not forsaken you by ignoring the fact you exist. He talks about you often, though its about the old days.. If you want him so badly.. If you want to prove that you love him.. Mean what you say."
She replied.
"Leave the pack with father, and actually live a happy life.. You dont have to rule anything..But if you stay, he will leave."
She did want to stay. A part of her really craved the power and upmost control she once had. She loved when others gave into her devious ways. And how the males were held at bay from a flick of her tail. Oh it was wonderful- for her anyway. Shezaam was maybe one of her only successful cubs. At least she stayed around for that ‘dream’ of a perfect family she once had. God maybe if Alas hadn’t taken her daughter Tempeste she would have had two normal pups, but that was in the past. She couldn’t dote on it.
A life away from the pack? It was certainly an interesting idea. But she really didn’t think Waz would have her. She really was set on staying. Prehaps taking her more loyal subjects and making another pack far from her. Though she would really miss Waz. But that was her fault for being so underhanded to him in the first place. She really didn’t deserve his kindness.
“I will talk to your father. But I don’t see myself going with him. There is much to be done here.”
Shezaam looked at her mother with a hard look. She knew her mother needed someone to smack some sense into her.. Did she not realize where she was heading?!
"Mother, that is not a good response. Im telling you now that half the pack would want to see you dead, and those who didnt want to see you dead, wouldnt obey you anymore. Youve been gone for so long, that no one respects the authority you once had. Its father keeping everyone in line right now.. The meanest of the wolves are in it for their own good..They would take the pack from you, not help you fix it."
‘I’d like to see myself dead sometimes’. She muttered out quietly. It was the other half of her earlier reason she wanted to stay. She knew the packs animosity towards her, she’d lead them into battle; kill Alas and then she would feel happy. As if that would solve all the worlds problem. It was a childish and foolish idea. But then again Twist had been thrust into life early. She had seen death as a pup and been leading a pack by teen. She did was she had to, to survive even if that ment throwing logic to the wind.
“As long as Alas dies then I’m complete. I’ll leave the pack shortly after I‘ve killed her.” She tried to explain herself. The cross look spreading across her face once again. She really did HATE that wolf or perhaps she hated herself and super imposed it.
Shezaam shook her head, truly saddened by her words. Mother had not changed, no matter how much she said she loved the big cuddly orange wolf that was her mate. Wazaam offered her everything, and she was willing to kill instead. Shezaam sighed, and looked at her mother sadly. She knew this wouldnt end well..If Twist managed to kill Alas, Wazaam would never forgive her. Waz held no ill will towards the pink female, thinking that maybe now..she had saved the other from a cruel fate.
"Everything happens for a reason mother..Just keep that in mind. I cant say that with Alas dead, you will be welcome with Father."
“Well then so be it!” She scoffed to her daughter. Wazaam deserved better then her anyway. At least his next mate would care for him in a way she couldn’t. That was what he needed. Not her, not ever- she wasn’t going to change and she wasn’t going to promise it either. She knew she’d just go back on her word.
“I’ll talk to your father and explain it. But I NEED to kill alas. She NEEDS to die.” Again the froth began to rage out of her mouth with this needless obsession she had. “She took away my family!” Her fur rigged onto her back. “My life! MY MATE! MAY PACK….EVERYTHING…everything…” She finally broke down in front of her daughter. She sunk low to the ground and shook back and forth. Everything she had known was gone. She was as good as dead on the inside.
She shook her head again and looked at her mother with sincere eyes. She knew her mother needed guidance. Shezaam, now a mother twice over, had grown into the role of motherhood, and so now she knew how to speak to someone so low.. Though she knew her mother didnt need to be lied to..Not right now. She wasnt about to sugarcoat things so that mother thought everything cuold be okay.
"Only you can fix this. Alas took nothing from you, without you letting her. Your hatred for her burns you so deeply, that youre willing to give all that up to kill her..To see her suffer. Suffering wont make you feel better,f or once shes gone, you'll realize that you were the one who let father leave..Who lost the pack..Your decisions, and then shes not there to blame anymore."
She nudged her mothers muzzle, but sighed.
"Mother dont let her rule you."
What was one so low without the life she had been raised to grow up as? She couldn’t just give up on Alas so easily could she? She spoke low and sad, “But she took my pup from me. I couldn’t have done anything about that…” She really burned deeply about loosing Tempeste. But then again Alas had done all she could to try and be her friend this entire time. Had she been wrong? She was confused, was Alas as bad as she made her out to be? Her daughters words only stung deeper as she knew what perusing the pink wolf would mean.
Her daughters touch roused her to her paws once more. “I will go find your father. Though I can’t promise what the outcome will be.”
She gave her a quick touch from her own muzzle to her nape and walked off to find Waz.
