It had been some time since Dagonet was in a pack, truly in a pack. He had been in many packs in the past, but never stayed for long, not because he didn't want to, but because he had gathered as much information as he could from them and deemed it time to move on. In the last while he had learned much, done many things and had met many new faces, but he was growing tired of his wandering ways and was determined to find a pack to join and settle down into.

A few days ago he had met an older wolf and spoke with him at length. He had mentioned a pack that wasn't far from here that sounded like the perfect place for Dagonet to go. Order of The Rose it was called, a pack who was dedicated to justice and bettering ones self. Isn't that what Dagonet had been looking for all along? The wolf had never shared his name with Dagonet but he would be forever grateful to the old male for pointing him in the right direction. So Dagonet had set to traveling to the packs lands in hopes of joining their ranks. He did not mind if they made him start at the bottom of the pack. In fact that sat very well with him if that was the case, for it would allow him to prove his worth to them. Dagonet was after all a hard worker so he would not shy from anything that was needed to bring himself up to the ranks of a great wolf.

Chantily was doing another boarder patrol - which seemed to take up the majority of her time since the pups had arrived - but it was better then being roped into puppy sitting for some reason or another - something which Chantily had decided to avoid at any and all costs.

She had found so many wolves while on these trips that she almost expected to find them every time. It was like a curse - yes a curse because most of the wolves she found were well...not exactly warriors and provided little help when it came to the packs true purpose. Chantily - finder of the weak. How irritating.

And here she was starring at the next wolf sure to be in that line. His coat she noted was very similar to hers - in color anyways. Not that that meant anything, he was probably just as useless as that pale pink Persephone. In any case it was her duty to confront him, peraps he'd give her some trouble and she'd have an excuse to chase him off rather then drag yet another weak willed beast to Fanta's feet. It was surely making her look bad and she sighed slightly before revealing herself before the male. "Greetings stranger"

Dagonet brought his paws to a stop as the other came into view. The way she carried herself told him this was a wolf of high rank, certainly not an Alpha but an important, high ranking wolf nonetheless. Dagonet carried himself in that odd mix of not quite high ranking wolf, but not quite a lowly omega. He knew that this female outranked him even without being part of a pack. Tipping his head in greeting Dagonet spoke. "Good morning." He said as he lifted himself up just a bit, not trying to make himself look more important but into a more relaxed position for standing and holding a conversation.

"I am Dagonet." He introduced himself to the female, with a slight smile on his maw. He wasn't trying to flirt with her, just trying to appear friendly. "I am seeking a pack called Order of The Rose. Are you a member of this pack?"

Well...at least he was polite Chantily thought to herself as she regarded him with her bright green eyes...and he didn't go on about flowers and meadows and other such things which was a point in his favor. He seemed to be a bit meek however and Chantily found herself once more doubting just how useful he would end up being. If they kept on going the way they were the pack would be full of puppies and civilians..hardly a force for darkness to be fearful of.

But alas she was not the one to make that decision and this one at least seemed respectful. Perhaps he would surprise her, maybe not for the moment she would simply settle for finding out just what he wanted, perhaps he was just passing through, or looking to speak to someone. "I am Chantilly, Marshal of the Order of the Rose" She told him in a prim voice "May I ask your business with the pack?"

Marshall, that was an interesting title. He was a bit curious as to what exactly a Marshall did, but first he would answer her question, then ask his. "It is a pleasure to meet you Marshall Chantilly. As for my business with the pack, I was told by an old wolf that there was a pack who ideals seemed to match my own. To live a life dedicated to justice and improving oneself, if not the pack as well. I wish to be a part of such a pack, though I understand if there are rule that dictate what one must do to join."

He fell silent for a few moments as he looked at her, glancing off at the area around them. It sure was beautiful here, he could get used to living in a place like this. Turning his attention back to Chantily he cleared his throat before he spoke again. "If you don't mind me asking, what does a Marshall do?"

Interesting - it seemed despite their lack of well..warrior to fight evil their name was spreading somewhat. She was unsure if that was good...or bad. On one hand it might draw in a few capable paws...on the other it might also draw in some undesirables. "I see" She stated, ears flicking lightly as she looked the other wolf over.

He didn't seem like much of a threat, and he didn't seem to have an undesirable temperament so she couldn't see any reason not to present him to the Grand Master or Mistress. "I serve the Grand master " She told him "Overseeing the Guards and Sentinels of the pack, ensure that they are ready to serve when the time comes to uphold the ideals that seem to have drawn you forth"

Those words, her tone, Dagonet was a bit unsure whether she believed him or not. If he was easily intimidated he might have shifted about uncomfortably under her gaze, but Dagonet was used to those looks and stood unmoving. High ranking wolves always inspected those belong them with those unimpressed eyes, so why should she do any different. Her explanation of what a Marshall does was short but certainly told him enough that his curiosity was satisfied. "A very important role in the pack." He said, somewhat more to himself than to her.

"Might I ask what positions there are to obtained in the pack? For surely you have a chain of command so to speak that others must follow and work towards." If she was a Marshall then surely there would be those below her, and other below those and so on, much like any other pack. Dagonet would be happy with any role he could get, and then work his way up. For if they were willing to give away high ranks to any wolf that walked into their borders then perhaps it was not the pack for him after all.

Chantily observed Dagonet in silence for a few moments before sitting as this could prove to be a lengthy explanation "I don't see the harm in enlightening you" She decided with a slight nod. "As I stated before the order is governed by The Grand Master and The Grand Mistress, they are siblings and rule the Templar Sentinels and the Rose Guard respectively. Each Master has a Marshal who are the heads of the Rose guard and Sentinels and a Seneschal who act as their aids and advisors. The Knights then fill the ranks of the Templars and the Guardians the ranks of the Rose guard. The Rose Guard defends the pack lands..the Templars bring the fight to the enemies" That pretty much filled out the armed tiers of the pack.

"Beyond them are the Oldblood wolves, elder or fight wounded wolves who have served the pack well and are now respected for the wisdom they've earned. Advice givers and pup sitters as they prefer, the Lieutenant's & Stewards who often preform scouting and hunting tasks - they are generally in training to enter into one of the aforementioned branches of the pack, Squires and Assistant are the youth of the pack - still deciding just where they will go as they age, The newblood are the newcomers to the pack and the Citizens are those who do not or cannot fight but lend their talents to the pack in other ways - such as ore telling or singing, taking in abandoned pups"

Dagonet listened intently as the various ranks were explained. There was so much potential here for Dagonet to prove himself as less than just a worker to those of higher ranks. Here he could work up the ranks, if given the chance, and become what he had always dreamed to be. So those few rumors he had heard about this pack had been true from what he gathered, and it was quite fortunate that he had stumbled upon it. Licking his lips at the prospect of finally bettering himself, proving that just because he came from lazy blood didn't mean that he was lazy.

"I should like to join your pack, if you Alpha will have me." He said, a bit hesitantly, but only because he was slightly distracted by the previous thoughts. "I am a hard worker and will willing fill any role that is needed. And I hope, if I am allowed, to work my way through the ranks as I do aspire to be an important member of whatever pack I am a part of." He had liked the the sounds of Knight, and perhaps if he worked hard he could attain that rank. And even if not, well he would do what he could, for that was all Dagonet could hope for.

Chantily eyed the wolf before her for a few moments, by this time she was pretty well convinced that he wasn't someone here to cause harm to her home and those who live within. In fact he seemed like the decent hard sort of worked she personally thought the pack lacked. It would be nice to bring in someone worthwhile for once she thought to herself, unlike that pink lackadaisy wolf Persephone.

"I will bring you to speak with him" she finally decided with a slight nod - and then Fantasia could decide his ultimate fate, surely her alpha would be able to tell if her thoughts on this particular wolf were correct, he was good at judging characters, judging anything really. 'This way please" she motioned for the tan and white wolf to follow her before leading them both through a small opening in the Thorn wall.

User ImageThe winds were blowing colder, the gray skies beginning to let up - but only just. Fantasia had never enjoyed the wold weather and knew the plants would be suffering under the chill. More care would be needed to keep their barrier in tip-top shape . . . If not as close to it as possible. Some of the more poisonous ones would probaby lose their potency. He sighed quietly to himself and shivered as the wind picked up, bringing to him Chantily's familiar scent.

At least he could count on his Marshal. Thanks the heavens for that.

A different scent mingled with hers, though, which brought to mind two things: either an intruder or a new recruit. Not needing preparation to face this professionally (as literally that seemed to be his only demeanor these days), the alpha turned to see them approach.

He didn't speak yet, taking his time to observe the wolf Chantily was bringing to him. By virtue of color he could have called them siblings, but by virtue of carriage they seemed near opposites: one erect and calm, the other hesitant. Though looks were not necessarily correct . . . He nodded his head to his marshal at length. "Chantily," Fanta greeted. "What have we today?"

Chantilly let a small smile cross her face as they approached Fantasia, he was always working so hard, so very rarely taking time to relax - come to think of it Chantilly wasn't sure if she'd ever seen the tan wolf relax. When he turned to face them however Chantilly wiped the smile from her face and lowered herself respectfully before him before answering.

"His name is Dagonet, Grand Master - and he's expressed interest in joining to work his way through the ranks" Finally..finally she could bring him someone willing to do something more then take advantage of the protection the pack offered.

Dagonet followed Chantily in silence as she led the way towards her Alpha. He had this odd rush of nervousness flow through him, wondering if the Alpha would accept him or not. When his eyes fell upon the Alpha the smaller wolf immediately ducked his head in respect and allowed Chantily to speak first, for the Alpha had addressed him and not her. After he had been introduced the tan wolf lifted his head enough to look upon his hopefully soon to be Alpha, a twinkle of respect danced in his eyes.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Grand Master." Now this, this as a wolf he could see himself working for, as he already felt a great respect towards the Alpha. "I have spoken with your marshal and she had told me a great deal about your pack. It sounds like the type of pack I have been searching for all along. It would be my honor to join your ranks, and I would work very hard at whatever you wished of me to do." With his speech finished Dagonet fell silence awaiting the Alpha's decision.

Fantasia took the time to look the male over as he spoke, wondering if he had prepared his words prior to coming. Had the pack been brought to his attention by word of mouth, or was it just another coincidence he had come by their borders? At the least this time someone had not come to the middle of The Order without being spotted; or so he assumed by Chantilly's lack of a frown.

This male seemed a little small, though he showed proper obeisance as any sane wolf would. Creamy and white just as Chantilly as well - Fanta might have mistaken them for siblings. "Dagonet, was it? Tell me a little about yourself and your reasons for searching for such a pack," he said after the short moment it took to take in the above details. "And, if you would not mind indulging me, did you come to this place by accident or by word of mouth?"

Chantily remained silent as Fantasia studied Dagonet, while she was sure he was a good choice for the pack - based on his willingness to work his way through the ranks - she would never presume to know more then her esteemed Alpha, surely Fantasia could look at this wolf, peer into his very soul and decide if he in truth a worthy addition to the pack.

She hoped he was - by the gods she was tired of presenting worthless creatures to her Alpha, just as she was tired of snarling at the guards who kept letting strange wolves wander into their midsts.I would be a nice change of pace if this one whom had been caught before he wandered in, proved to be a worthy wolf.
