I am the Sin you imagine in your sleep.

Moonlit Night
_______________

A haunting dream
once came to me
about love lost
and memories
A lullaby plays
beneath the moon
and slowly lets out
necromantic tunes.

A love once dead
brought back to life,
and we forget
all of our strife.
A single kiss
begins the song
Taking us where
we belong

And on the grave
where we now stand,
out from the ground,
a rotted hand
holds up the gift,
Ouroboros of love
A ring of trust
My mind's made up.

I take the ring
and offer it out
as I kneel
and say my vows
she's looking down,
her face dark red
I look up,
and hear the yes.

Eternal life
inside a ring,
tell me what will
our future bring?
Children, jobs
and then old age?
Will we remember
our necromantic days?

Or let them pass
like sand in the wind?
never to feel that
necromantic love again?
I highly doubt
among us two
That we could forget
that moonlit tune.

And the Muse that inspired your soul.

Who Deserves to Die?
_____________

Tell me….
Tell me….
Tell me….
Tell….
ME!!!
Signing contracts now. Sign them in your blood!
Bombs are in the air! Bodies in the mud!
Death comes in the form. Of a piece of paper!
When you come of age, get struck by the reaper! Reaper! Reaper!

War is brewing, fiery sky,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!
Chaos churning hands held high,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!

A hero stands among the fire, he is getting all the fame.
We look up at him in desire, he is looking down in shame.
He’s afraid of what he’s done, how many did he ‘have’ to kill?
He gets shipped home, takes out his gun and then writes out his final will!

War is brewing, fiery sky,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!
Chaos churning hands held high,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!

Six months later, the battle’s won,
All the men get shipped back.
Although there’s peace now,
wait to see how
we plan out our next
ATTACK!
ATTACK!

War is brewing, fiery sky,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!
Chaos churning hands held high,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!

War is brewing, fiery sky,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!
Chaos churning hands held high,
Tell me who deserves to die!
Tell me who deserves to die!

Forgotten Soldier
__________________________________

A forgotten soldier in a battlefield of lies
Though the battle rages on, the true war is inside
He pulls the trigger, grabs the knife, when suddenly a light
A mental flare, a flashbang scare, dost fill him with fright.

A bullet fires through his head, a sudden realization.
He's a puppet following orders: massacre a nation.
He takes his blade, the world he'll save, he's losing all his patience.
He then saws off a finger raw to leave on a "vacation".

Upon entering the palace he recieves a Purple Heart.
His brother sits upon the throne, a leader bold, no heart.
This forgotten soldier knows the bloodline, the king? Not.
Heir to the throne, yet on the floor, his eyes, both bloodshot.

From 'neath his coat, he pulls a gun, a government grade pistol.
He points it to his brother's skull, and happily pulls the trigger
Through bone and brain, eyes full f strain, throne of blood and gristle;
The king falls dead, his life has left, a straight-to-hell-bound missile.

Forgotten soldier, now a king, has ended a war.
The cost: a finger and ex-king; a feat not done before.
He rules the land, scepter in hand, a crown atop his head.
His brother, now forgotten, is now lying cold and dead.

The Cell
_____________
I am a prisoner in my own cell
The jailer, myself, wants to send me to hell.

I listen and wait for the jingle of keys
That glimmer of love that I'd never recieve.

I'm given cards; beaten, battered and aged
Books are a rarity, they rip out every page.

The window is barred, I can barely see out
Freedom is all I want; of that there is no doubt.

The food tastes like s**t, the walls close in on me
Making it harder and harder to breathe.

I plan my escape then hear a glimmer of hope
Keys unlock the door, "It's time for court."

They latch on the cuffs, ask if they're too tight
I tell them yes, the reply?: "Sure, yeah right."

Climb in the squad car begin the fatal drive
To the court room where I know my mother will cry

I walk to the bench, put my hand on the Book
It burns to the touch, the words, the look.

Stand up for the judge, the just; the fair.
He smiles a bit, sitting back in his chair.

I'm nervous, these shackles keep me weighted down
Not by the feet; the heart's where they're found.

He looks at the record, then me, then my mom
As he looks upon me, he's lost in thought.

He made his decision, of shackles, I'm free
As I leave the court room, all eyes are on me.

My head is down, I'm lost, deep in thought.
My body is free, but my mind, it is not.

I'm still a prisoner in my own mental cell
Where my mind creates my personal hell.

I look back on my sins, get down on my knees,
And pray for the grace I wish to recieve.

And I feel, deep down, I'm forgiven from the depths I fell
But I'm still trapped in my own mental cell...

I am the Sin you imagine in your sleep.

The Sun's Beacon(Short Story)
___________

As the midnight sun slipped through the night hours like sand through an hourglass, a female voice could be heard from the living room of a small apartment. “He’ll be here..“ She looked out the windows, waiting for her ride. He was several hours late, but she knew somewhere in her heart he’d be there. He’d never failed her before, and he wasn’t going to now. They were to go to the lake and spend a day alone with each other; yet he still was not here yet. Suddenly, a knock was heard on the door.

She ran, hoping it to be him, but was disappointed to see his best friend at the door, panting and trying to catch his breath. “H-he’s in the hospital! Come on!” Stunned, she grabbed a jacket and followed him to the car. As he drove, her mind was filled with worry. Is he okay? I can’t live without him… She started crying softly, and she pulled out a picture of the two of them.

She looked upon it with tear filled eyes, and was taken back to that time. Their first date at the park, also the first day they had met; how happy he looked! And she had always stayed the same, in her mind at least. This was three years to the day; back when the carnival was in town.

They had ridden every ride, starting with the roller coaster, moving on to the other small attractions. The day was perfect, all the way up to the ferris wheel ride. It had been sunset, and the way he had wrapped his arm around her, and the way she fit perfectly with him showed her that what they had would be true love. The ferris wheel, the rollercoaster, the smell of cotton candy… All of it could bring back happiness. Only if she could jump into this picture.

As the best friend of her boyfriend drove past the hospital, she turned in her seat, looking back, now frantic. “S-stop! Turn around! He’s right there!” But his friend continued driving, focusing on the road. “He asked me to do a favor for you before I took you to see him…”

She bit her lip as a look of worry filled her face, more so than before. He would have said something to her if anything had gone wrong. She was sure of it.

The car made a left down a brick trail to a familiar location. The park, the location of their first date. She looked to his friend as he nodded, smiling a bit, indicating for her to get out of the car. Warily, she eyed him, frowning and burrowing her brow in frustration. She didn’t want to go back on old memories, damn it! She wanted her love!! But she still stepped from the car, and was immediately assaulted by the scent of cotton candy. And popcorn. She dismissed this though; it was merely her mind projecting her dreams into reality. Or was it? Was her mind projecting that music that could be found only at the carnival where she had met her true love? It must be. And it must be projecting the ferris wheel lights as they lit the midnight sky…

But nothing in her mind could project him. He walked down the trail, looking exactly like the day he met her. His dark chocolate hair blew in the wind, his eyes of the same color fixated upon his one true love. He grinned, chuckling to himself as she ran, hugging him tightly and suddenly. “Miss me…?” He said, holding her close and kissing her forehead.

She fumed, looking to him as she hugged him still. “I was worried about you! Today’s our anniversary and you forgot!!” She yelled as tears filled her eyes. He shook his head in disagreement.

“Honey, I never could forget the day I met you… I wanted our anniversary to be special, so I talked to a few people, and they made it so we can have the park to ourselves…” He smiled as he hugged her tightly.

Tears still filled her eyes, but out of happiness now. “You… you mean you were waiting for the perfect time…? For us…?” He laughed, shaking his head again. She looked confused as she tilted her head, causing a tear to fall. “For who…?”

“For you…” He smiled, nodding as he gently pressed his lips to hers. The two kissed, but not the standard kiss you see daily. No, this was a kiss full of both passion and true love, and it radiated across the park. As the kiss gently broke, he smiled softly. “Well, wanna continue our date?” She nodded, wiping the tears from her eyes as she took his hand. “O-of course!”

The two ran to the carnival, and relived the past, something they had both missed. And on the Ferris wheel, as the light of day hit the horizon, near the top, he smiled and got on one knee. “Will you marry me…?” She nodded, crying again and smiling, all at the same time.

And the sun filled the day, almost as if to tell the world of the possibilities of true, true love.

The Warrior's Soul(Free Form)
___________

The world is not set in stone.
It moves. Shifts.
Abandons those who cannot move on their own.

I watch though, for the moment when I may stand and look to the clouds.
I look for the second that I can agree to myself that the past is forgiven.
I must protect myself.

For a true soldier lives within.
Something that died long ago, and refuses to let go.
We live in a world where man loses the will to move on, and places his death onto himself.

What happened to the days when we could fight for ourselves?
What happened when we never backed down?
Could fight, face forward, and stand our ground?

The warrior lives on in me.
I refuse to back to the whims of others.
And I know the meaning of honor.

I will not give up.
I will not give in.
Idealistic I may be, but I value my beliefs.

And I will fight for them.
Because I am that strong.
I will never give in.

The soul is old, this is true.
But the old souls live in today,
While the souls of today live in the future of tomorrow.

Can you truly say you will fight as a warrior?
I faced my scars.
Face yours like the man you have become.

Happy Muse is happy. biggrin
Lol thanks a ton. I write when I get overemotional(Both happy, sad, angry, etc) and it comes out in poetry. This was when I was mad at someone who pitied themselves for their past, so that's why I made that specific line. xD
I told them that they can't defend themselves, and that they needed to, or they couldn't survive. Gotta be strong in today's world, or you'll get eaten alive.
