Natsu stretched as she padded across the pride's lands. She had a pretty good idea of where everything was by now, and she'd seen pretty much everyone at the festival of souls. Oh, how lovely it was outside today! Her muse hummed happily- even sang a little tune during some of its humming!
"You're sure chipper today," Natsu stated, looking down at her feet at the nearest bit of her muse. The grass seemed to be dancing in the wind happily.
"You should sing along, you would like my song!"
"Of course, teach it to me! I'd be glad to sing along," Natsu said, sitting down in the grass to listen. It sang through it a couple of times, then asked if she'd gotten it. Natsu said yes, and with that, she rose to her feet to head out, singing that song the whole way.
Though, she didn't really have a destination. She paused for a moment to recount a mental inventory of what herbs she had back at her cave... Knowing what she was short of, she headed off to where those were found, still singing.

Jura's ears swiveled around her head, trying to determine just what that noise was. It took some times, and even the trees seemed a little confused on what was going on. They only ever listened to the birds' singing, so they wouldn't know that it had been a lion.
"Eh?" she grunted, scratching at her belly as she saw the green lioness come into her view. Intrigued, she approached her, even if singing wasn't really Jura's thing.
"Hey," she said, sitting down as her blue eye's studied the mesmerizing marks along her body. Almost like vines, they were. "What is it that you're singing?"

Natsu perked up at a voice- she heard it over her singing.
"Oh, a visitor!" Her muse said to her excitedly. "Another pridemember, perhaps?" it pondered aloud. Natsu turned to see who it was- indeed, it appeared to be another pride member. She was certain she recognized the lioness, but couldn't put a name to the face. "Hey, hi!" Natsu said brightly, padding over to the other female. She hadn't made an impression on too many of the pride's populace, so it would be good to be overly friendly with first visits, or so she thought. "Oh, do you like the song? My muse taught it to me! It doesn't have a name, does it?" She asked, looking down to the grass.
"Yeah, it's the Grass's Melody. Not a very creative name, huh?"
"Wait, it does have a name. It's the Grass's Melody!" Natsuki said with a nod, as if she'd known that from the beginning. "I can teach it to you if you would like?" the green lioness offered.

Jura tilted her head to the side, the black fluff from her tail dusting the ground. Not much, since it was grass, but it was the motions that she enjoyed doing. "No thanks," she said. "I'm not much of a singer," she clarified. "Never have been, and I don't want to break your ears with me trying."
She glanced down at the grass, and then back up to the trees that were always visible (unless there was quite the storm!). "So your muse is grass?" she guessed, since it looked like she was talking to the grass. It had obviously corrected her!
"Glad that it's not birds," she said, making a face and then laughing. "Does the grass teach you a lot of songs, or just the one?"

"Oh, I see," she said with a nod. So not everyone could sing. She wouldn't try to teach someone who didn't want to learn, then. "I'm glad it's not birds either!" She said with a chuckle. "Birds seem soo... flitty, and that's just not me. And grass is a great guess! But grass is only part of my muse- my muse is plants. Any type of plant. Though, usually, the type of plant that speaks for my muse is whatever is closest to me physically, which is normally grass," she said, taking a quick look around to see if there was any patch of land that was't coated in grass.
"I don't think there is," it said, having read her thoughts. Me neither, she thought before returning her attention to the lioness before her. "I wonder sometimes if a specific branch of that muse will pick me- a more specific plant. If so, I imagine it'll be grass!" she said with a chuckle. She heard her muse- her entire muse, laugh along with her. That always made her smile. "So far, it's been just the one, but I wouldn't mind learning more!" She said with a nod.
"You don't know her name," her muse blurted out randomly.
"I don't think I caught your name. Mine's Natsuki, but you can just call me Natsu for short, if you want," she said. "What's yours? And... if you don't mind my asking, what's your muse? Just curious," Natsu clarified.

Jura blinked. "Well, I don't like birds because they take up the trees' attention, even when I'm in the middle of a conversation with them." She ruffled her fur up a little, but all that really stood on end was a bit on the back of her neck.
"My name is Jura'ujiti," she replied. "Though Jura works just fine for me." She snickered. "At least I guessed well. Old Man Rai doesn't like my shadow, I have a feeling that might be his muse, but he sure didn't seem to like it." She swished her tail, liking this Natsu already. "My muse is trees, specifically. Is why I don't like birds so much. They sing or chat to the trees, and they always seem to favor them over me." Bitter rivalry in her mind.

"Oh, I see. That makes perfect sense, I suppose if I was a tree right now, I would be distracted by a bird sitting on me too. That would be no fun, vying for the trees' attention over birds!" Natsu said, glad that she generally didn't feel much by way of competition. She looked up to the trees as if expecting an answer, but they just chuckled at her. The grass hummed quietly in the background.
"Nice to meet you, Jura," Natsuki said with a small bow- a pleasantry she'd picked up during her childhood in the roguelands.
"Huh, I haven't really met Rai," Natsu said, "though I've heard of him and seen him around, I think. That would be an interesting muse, maybe I should ask him to take a look at my shadow!" She said, looking down at it. It certainly didn't talk back to her, she imagined it would for someone, though. "You seem to be great at figuring out people's muses! Have you ever guessed right for someone who hasn't been claimed by one yet?" Natsu asked with a little head-tilt.

"Oh, he's crazy," she said, as if no one else was. "He didn't like my shadow, thought I was going to do something real mean to him." She giggled before continuing, "I never would, even if I can get a little mean in my teasing at times." And boy, she had gotten really mean with him, to downright harassment. Still, she didn't think that he had really meant it at first, but he did. So she probably wouldn't get that close to him anymore. She didn't want to cause him so much worry that he might like...die? Maybe. He was old.
"Not really," she shrugged. "He kept ranting about my shadow, his shadow, other shadows. I figured it had something to do with it, though he might just be too old to see everything clearly." Oh, she was being a bit too mean, but she loved it.
She paused for a moment, decided to change the subject a bit. "But I had met a lioness with wings, a new member. I was so sure it would be birds, because of her wings. I was going to warn her I'd never like her, but she said that she didn't think so, it didn't feel right. That made me happy."

"Huh, must be true, then," she said. Natsuki probably would have come to the same conclusion if she had been in Jura's place. She was suddenly tempted to find Rai and have him analyze her shadow- it would be interesting to know what her shadow was like.
Then she heard something that was surprising to her. "A lioness with... wings?" She asked, head tilted. "That's astounding! You mean not wing-style markings, right? Like, actual wings?"
"Must be a goddess," the grass said. Natsu wondered if it was the goddess of these lands... She had never actually met a goddess before, and therefore never had seen a lioness with wings, but she had sure heard of them. "She sounds nice," Natsu said honestly.

"Oop!" Good going, Jura, you're teasing them without even trying. No pulling of the tail, got it? "No, I said that wrong, I'm sorry," she said, really shameful of tricking her. "She had wing markings," Jura rushed to clarify, "and was the reason that I was so certain she was a bird-muse girl." Jura was still happy that she didn't seem to be, even if she hadn't been sure of what her muse was at that point. Jura knew it came suddenly, but there was always something there that pushed you towards your muse. She believed it.
Feeling bad, Jura hoped to sort of change the subject, even if that meant covering her mistake. "Ummm, so what was it that you were doing?" she asked. "More than just singing, unless that's all you do in your free time?"

"Oh, that makes more sense," Natsu said with a nod. She didn't take it seriously at all- misunderstandings happened all the time. As long as they were resolved, she never minded.
"Oh, well, I was..." she said thoughtfully. Just what had she been doing? The lioness had completely forgotten. "I was meandering around looking for something to do. I'm a healer, but I've got all of the supplies I need, so I was just gonna wander around the pride's lands until I found something to do, then I bumped into you!" she said with a smile. Meeting others and getting to know them was a good way to spend the day, in her mind. Especially since she seemed to get along with Jura, hopefully she would be able to spend more time with her in the future.
"So I didn't really have much of a purpose in mind when I left the den this morning," she admitted with a sheepish grin. "What about you, I haven't stopped you from doing anything, have I?" she asked, hoping that the answer was no.

Jura shrugged her shoulders. "I didn't have anything to do," she replied with a smile. "I mean, I should go hunt, but I don't really feel like it. I like wandering around, bugging people, messing around. I guess I get annoying sometimes, but it only really works if I get under someone's skin." She shrugged again, but her smile grew brighter.
"Seems like we get along well, though! I like that." She hummed for a moment before blurting out what was on her mind. "What to go wander around together for a while? Might be more fun than just wandering around alone."

"Well that's good, I'm glad I didn't keep you from doing something you felt you needed to do," Natsu said with a nod. It was weird around here to feel an extreme sense of duty, right? She thought she had felt that in the past with her healing, but now... Well, it was kinda more like a hobby than a serious full-time job. That made her feel pretty good about it. She assumed, then, that Jura's rank was a huntress. "I'm awful at hunting. You'd think I'd be great, since my coat kinda blends in, but I just don't have the coordination." If only her grandmother knew.... She would have been disappointed. Fortunately for both of them, Natsu never met or knew her grandmother.
"And yeah, we do get along well!" She said happily, having made a friend in the pride. "We should really go wandering around. I've never bugged people, is it fun?" the lioness asked with a headtilt, hoping that if it was fun, she could get a lesson or two... Or maybe have numerous trips out to do so.

"Pfft, never. I hunt when I have to, not when I want to." Jura laughed, feeling a little less...guilty? about not hunting. She'd do some later, at least to help out a bit. Tomorrow might be a better day to hunt, anyway.
"It's awesome, being annoying. You gotta be careful to not get them really mad at you, though. That's not really fun, but a bit of playful anger is all in good fun! C'mon, I bet if we try hard enough we could find old man Rai and show you just how much he hates my shadow," she laughed again, feeling excited.

Natsu perked up considerably- the feeling of excitement was contagious. She had never spoken to old man Rai, and had a feeling that annoying him wouldn't leave the best first-impression, but somehow that didn't matter at the moment. What did matter was the fact that she was sure she could smooth it over later with him, if she needed to. Fact of the matter was, though, that she didn't need to. "Alright!" she laughed, and followed after Jura to see if they could spend the rest of the day. Though, it had already been a sweet day, only to get better.
