Bah Humbug Indeed Story "Merry Christmas, Talis." "You're kidding, right?" They were glaring each other down and, so far, she was winning. Sure, she was a little shorter than him. Brown hair, pale blue eyes, a rather scruffy looking teenager. Black hair, wire-rimmed glasses, a beautiful business man. Between them was what looked like a jar- something you'd burn a scented candle in. "Afraid not." The girl replied, tossing her head as a sort of challenge, dog-like ears folding back and camouflaging themselves among the unruly mahogany strands. "I'm full up with my share of babies at the moment and this one was addressed to you." "Redd, they're /all/ addressed to me so long as you're under /that/ name in this place." He snarled, reaching for the jar. He'd smash it. His hand, however, was quickly intercepted by her own smacking one. "Ain't it grand?" She smiled up at him, taking a step back. "Look, Talis, I know you're not fond of children. I know that you didn't have such a great time at the Shee gardens, but please. Take this as a gift and not a punishment. Take it to Kyo if you must but you know I can't keep it." From somewhere through the open door of the house that stood behind them, an infant whined. Redd gave him a meaningful look. "Fine." He sighed, reaching a little easier for it now. "Dion and Avarice should be ecstatic." Sardonic. She resisted the urge to pinch his cheek. She let him have it, her gloved fingers slowly slipping away. "What is it?" "There was a letter with it. Here." The brunette dug through her pockets quickly, producing a folded piece of paper. "Shall I read it for you? You've got your hands full." He glared at her softly, lifting the jar to his face. Inside, some red substance curled and flexed, glowing. "What is this?" "Can I read?" "Go ahead." "Congratulations, NinetailedNightmare! You have been chosen to participate in an experiment called 030. The jar you've received is a very delicate creature (Redd:I thought it was a lava lamp and shook it up, sorry. Don't look at me like that! I hadn't opened the note before then...) and will need some looking after before it can grow. This particular experiment has been given a sprig of holly. You will need to keep a record of this experiment -a journal, if you will- for us to properly proceed. Of course, once it's grown it can fend for itself and write its own entries. Good luck and thank you for your cooperation. Please make sure you check into the headquarters once in a while to check the specimen's condition." She took a breath, eyes flicking up to him. And then she handed the open note over. It wasn't handwritten, as he'd thought it to be. It was mostly typed, only the words 'NinetailedNightmare' and 'holly' written in some sort of scrawl. At the bottom there was a typed address; probably the head-quarters for the experiment. "So." He snarled suddenly. "I'm working for the /government/? Experimenting?" "It's a side-company, otherwise they'd raise it themselves." She replied promptly. Talis absolutely loathed the government. "You, of all things, should have some sympathy." "Hmph." He adjusted his glasses idly, placing the note in his coat pocket. "Where are your little monsters, by the way?" Redd asked curiously, peering at the lack of activity in his coat. "Kyo's." "You don't mind Kaze?" "I hope they ate him." Redd chuckled, waving to him dismissively as another cry came from the innards of the house. "That's Zwolf. He's usually pretty quiet." "I thought you had Faustus and Desh-whatever taking care of him?" "Please." Her blue eyes rolled as she turned on her heel, a mangy brown tail flicking as one final good-bye. "Those boys were brought up pampered, away from other children. They don't know how to raise him any way other than shoving a silver spoon in his mouth. Merry Christmas, Nightmare~!" "Bah!" "Humbug." She grumbled, shutting the door firmly behind her.

Rules Rules are pretty short and simple: ~No posting unless you are listed. ~No spamming if you are listed. ~PM fanart to NN. It will be added. ~Ask questions over PM if you are not listed. RPing Rules: ~Do not try and auto-hit Noelle even if she's being bitchy. Ask first or you'll never rp with me again. ~Noelle is not a sweet character in general. She's a girl. Do not hand me situations where she's supposed to be compassionate and friendly because it will /not/ happen. ~Please be as literate as possible and keep your posts over one line. If I don't think I'd be able to respond literately, I'm not going to respond at all. Please don't b***h at me if you make a post where your character is off in their own little world and I don't respond. I'll be thinking that you're making up a story and leave you to it. ~Noelle is /always/ open for rp, so don't be afraid to PM me for it. ~If I don't respond right away and you see me at some other board, please don't attack me. Also, do not send me PMs saying you posted because I most likely /know/ and don't feel like giving a proper response at the time. And don't put '.....' five minutes after I don't post. That is my pet peeve and I will chew the head off a kitten if you do. I wait for you, you wait for me. ~I don't bite, I swear... List: Naeodin -White List- For Noelle and for tolerating all my sillyness -Eligible for posting in journal(no-brainer on that one)-

FAQ What is Project 030?Go check the main board. Why are you using one of your characters to take care of your adoptables?Quite frankly, I can't rp myself. And because it's fun :3 Does Talis even like babies? No, he doesn't. Teenagers piss him off more, though. Why is Talis so mean?Because someone has to be. That and he has a real hurtful past like /everyone/ else >> Pft. Why is Noelle so pompous?Talis is the one raising her. It's really no surprise she's a little priss, is it? *smacked* She's only a kid, you know. She may or may not grow out of it. What /is/ Talis?Pft. Like I'd tell.... >> Who are all these extra characters? Kaze, Kyo, Ebony, etc? Are they actual characters with pages and journals or are they characters just feeding the story-line?Kyo and crew are very old, OC characters of mine. No, none have their own journals or pages thus far, but I am slowly trading them all in for pets with their likenesses. If you want a look at Kyo's, she's at the top of my journal, in Mysthra form. So, I guess for now they are really just 'feeding the story-line'. As far as Dion and Avarice go, though, they are Shee and do have journals ^^

Family Talis: GuardianFrom what we've seen, he's a very quiet individual for the most part. He doesn't like strangers, labs, children, or physical contact- all of which he'll have to put up with so long as he's raising Noelle. Past all those odd things such as his red eyes and silver blood, he seems like a normal young business man with a pessimistic outlook on life and everything else in general. Posts in journal as: dark red, but rps as black. Dionaea: SiblingHe's the poison shee under Talis' care. His teeth are sharp and he has an awful habit of chewing on things, but he seems to be an over-all sweetheart. Noelle, like almost everything else, fascinates him and he seeks to learn all he can about her. Though, she's not all that fond of him for his puny size. Rps and may written in as: toxic greenAvarice: SiblingOne of the Seven Deadly Sins incarnated into a shee. He's Talis' second child and has an affinity for shiny objects. He's only really interested in the gold trim on Noelle's dress, as he's too young to think of her as anything else. Rps and may written in as: green

Fellow Experiments Ritsuki: Noelle doesn't really like or dislike her. She bent to Noelle's whim when she wanted to do up the walls, so it's really more like that's she's on Noelle's good side. Ciro: She was annoyed with the method that he tried to brake up the fight between Sethos and her with. She's a little wary of him, but for the most part she considers him weak-willed and easy to control. Donovan: She sees something valuable in Donnie now that she had to fight over him. She's more determined than ever to show that she too is worthy of having his company. Sethos: Noelle is displeased that he does not follow suit when she leads the others on whatever task she's made up for them, but there is no real hate for him. They fought, sure, but that sort of thing is held in no high regard for her seeing as she frequently picks them. Indeed, she has no respect for him even though he seems to carry a title around the other fae. There are no attributes she has found to respect in him other than the fact that he's not afraid to hit her back. Learn her place? She obviously believes it is above him. Aurion: At first she developed a severe disliking for him because he stained her clothes, but when he fixed her clothes and gave her a gift, he was easily forgiven. She doesn't really know what to think of him other than he uses a lot of big words she has yet to learn and he talks a little more than is needed. I suppose she over all likes him, even though he is trying to pick her apart and analyze her.

I can't believe I was conned into getting another child. That little Redd b***h- she knows too much for her own good. Then again, she /was/ stacked with kids when I last left her. Sometimes I wonder how bad they'll truly end up.
I picked Dionaea and Avarice up from Kyo today- I don't now how she puts up with it. When I walked in, Dionaea was hanging from her eyebrow like some demented piercing. Avarice was trying to steal the rings of her fingers...
"What are you doing?" Talis clenched his jaw to keep it from falling open as he stepped into the dim apartment. It was a lot like his- sterile, but barren all save for some choice pieces of furniture. "Kyo, discipline them when they do that! Kyo! Are you asleep?"
He set the jar down upon the coffee table in front of the couch she had draped herself upon.
"I /was/." She admitted quietly, looking at him quietly through one eye. "Don't worry. They just started this a little while ago. Sometimes you need to let them get it out. They get bored after they don't get a response and just stop. It is how most people work." She didn't shift as he reached forward and removed Dionaea and set him upon her lap, which had a blanket thrown over it.
"You look pitiful." Talis told her quite frankly, reaching to remove Avarice as well. His fingers danced around the shee as he snapped his tiny teeth, easily grabbing the boy by the middle and wrenching him unkindly off the sought-after piece of jewelry.
"You finally noticed?" She smiled up at him calmly, jokingly. He snorted and took his place next to her on the couch.
"Where's Kaze?" He asked, unconsciously stroking Avarice's head with gentle fingers. The baby automatically settled, curling upon his hand and allowing himself to be petted a little more. He didn't get such attention often.
"At school." She replied, shoulders rolling. "Why?"
"I brought something breakable, that's why." He stared at her suspiciously, sliding the glasses from his eyes and folding them. They were set upon the coffee table along with the glowing jar. His eyes were odd- slanted slightly but not in an ugly way; he was quite handsome, to say the least, but those eyes were sort of unnerving exposed. "Why weren't you at school?" She was a teacher after all.
"I had to take care of yours. And you're not quite at work today yourself." She gestured to the babies. "Besides, I have enough accumulated 'off' days to keep me out for a week."
"You won't need them." He assured her quickly, eyes narrowing.
"You brought something for me?"
As if reminded, Talis blinked, then looked towards the jar. "Redd gave me that."
"Ah, Redd." Kyo murmured quietly. "How is she?"
"Up to her neck in kids. I thought it was rather amusing."
"But not as amusing as you with them, right?" She smirked, teasing Dion's nose with her finger lightly. He gurgled in delight, distracted.
"It's not amusing at all." He told her, suddenly sinking into a sulk, glaring at nothing in particular. "I didn't want this."
"You needed it." Kyo told him firmly, perhaps surprising him. "You can't be alone forever, Talis. Strangers stay strangers if you don't give an inch."
"What have you seen?"
She smiled at him, this time rather sadly. "Few things, like always. And you know I cannot tell you what. What I can tell you is that you needed it. Now. Let me see your new one." However, she would not wait for him to get it for her. Much as a disability she had, she didn't like sitting back and letting others do everything for her. She reached out, pale fingers stretching while her wrist dipped down thanks to the silver shackle attached to it. The jar was picked up all the same; brought to her face for inspection.
"There's a sprig of holly in here." She observed, tilting her head. "...It's a girl."
"What?!"
"This should prove to be quite interesting." Kyo grinned, eyes drooping tiredly.
I brought the kids home to the apartment, which I plan to be staying in for a few days. After all, it /is/ the holiday and the office is letting workers out. I suppose I should actually enjoy it now that I have these runts to take care of.
I've set her up on a high shelf in the kitchen, but before that I had shown it to the boys. Dionaea accepts it just like he does the knowledge I've fed him over the past couple of weeks, but he most likely just regards it as an object rather than a sibling. For a real response, the thing will probably have to be born.
Avarice took one look at it and went on with his business. Apparently it wasn't as interesting as rolling change across the counter. Which is fine, actually, because I won't have to deal with either of them going after it or -worse- breaking it. I hope the thing actually likes the cold, because neither of the brats do and it's winter. That and it's near a window. Damn, running out of page...
