((This is just a random thread to get all my characters' inner storyline done and out of the way. Please don't post here. I'll finish tomorrow.))
Within the forest to the east of Barton, there is a small clearing. Deep within the forest, it is hidden from many, and few venture within the depths of the forest for it is said that many things live within and many groups have territory nearby. But this particular clearing is occupied by no one, and on this night it is empty.
Until Gelmax appears. Standing in the clearing, simple as that, he surveys the trees calmly, awaiting a visitor.

And without further ado, a portal opens behind him just in time to block the sudden beam of golden energy fired from a hiding place in the woods.
Even as the portal closes, though, his attacker has already sprung from her concealment, and shining blonde hair marks her approach as she leaps through the air and brings a huge warhammer down right on Gel's chest...only for the illusion to disappear.
"Dammit!"
Without a pause, she stands and whirls, unsteadily swinging the heavy hammer 180 degrees to strike at the empty air behind her...then doing it again as soon as she regains control, again hitting nothing.
Though her search went unrewarded, Gelmax was in no mood to stay hidden for long, and before she could gather herself for a third swing his boots were on her shoulders.
